Sofitel Lisbon Liberdade - لشبونة

The staff were very helpful and friendly. They gave us alot of information of how to use the transport system and the places to visit. The location of the hotel was perfect, it is along the airport bus route and the Hop on and Hop of bus stops infront of the hotel. The bed was comfortable and the room decor was stunning with fresh flowers. Free toiletries were great and tea/coffee facility was provided. The shower was abit weak and the bathroom was noisy in the morning.

My husband and I were pleasantly surprised at the intimacy of the hotel and its convenient location in Lisbon. While our room was a little small, it was clean and comfortable. As others have commented, the breakfast is fantastic. Yes it is expensive, but worth it. The food in the snack bar was also good in a lovely setting. The staff was very helpful and the service was great, making you feel at home. The location can't be beat. We would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Great Service, the room was clean and had a nice up to date bathroom. I was particularly impressed by the buffet breakfast. Location was central and staff were very helpful in directing me to good restaurants and local attractions

Fantastic hotel. All of the hotel staff were friendly and helpful. We had a great stay and would go back if we find ourselves in Lisbon again.

Great hotel, very friendly staff, and a subway (Metro) entrance is about 100 feet from the entrance.

Wonderful hotel, very nice staff. The location was great. 2 minute walk to Rossio Square and B Alto. Would stay here again.

This is a great hotel. Staff were excellent. Amenities where great. Great restaurant. The street noise however seemed like it was piped directly into the room. I literally check to make sure the window wasn't opened.

good location and very comfortable.

We visited Portugal for 8 days (10/21/11-10/30/11) and spent our last night in Lisbon at the Sofitel. We were excited to stay here because we had walked past it during our sightseeing and thought 'wow, what a great location and beautiful hotel'. The staff was very friendly and accommodating but we were turned off the the crampness of the room and the fact that it seemed like it had been vacant/untouched for some time. There were actually gnats flying around (??), and a layer of dust on the bathroom ledge. Other than that, it was a great stay -- comfy beds!

Great hotel, truly a 5-start. Really got nothing bad to say.

Perfectly located on the main avenue Liberdade, walking distance to everything!! Hotel staff could not have been more helpful. We were always greated with a smile and made to feel very welome. We stayed for 7 nights and were very happy with this property and would definitely stay here again! But pack lite very limited closet space.

Stayed with my wife for 3 nights. Great hotel. Restaurant a bit dear so we ate out for all meals. Clean and comfortable room. Right by the Avenida Metro entrance so very convenient for all transport links. 10 min walk from main shops or 2 stops on Metro. Buy a 24 hour ticket for 4.6 euros and travel trams, bus and metro as much as you like. Highly recommended.

This is perfect location for a city break. It's expensive but i suppose you do get what you pay for. We had a great stay and the staff were very helpful

Well located, in great neighborhood, close to many fine restaurants and shopping. Room was comfortable and well maintained, staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast not included and expensive. Only 7-8 minutes walk to the train station and more historic neighborhoods. Only complaint was that the reservation stated that valet parking was free, but the hotel charged $20 per day for the parking lot and said the "free valet" just meant that they would not charge for their staff to drive the car to a nearby lot.

This was my first time in Lisbon. The hotel is centrally located. The room was very comfortable. The service was excellent overall. I would recommend this hotel without reservation.

The location was great: walkinng distance to Rossio, the river and Plaza Pombal, restaurants and shops. Can't go wrong!

went for a weekend to Lisbon, choose this hotel due to location. Initally we got a smoking room despite having requested a non smoking room. Went to complain, they were fantastic and even upgraded us for this mistake they made. The hotel is fantastic, nothing to complain. 100% satisfied, great amenities, really comfortable beds and Location was amazing! Would definately reccomend and if I ever go to Lisbon again i wouldnt think about staying anywhere else.

This was my first (and so far only) stay at a Sofitel and it was a great experience. Beautiful hotel, great room, great price, and great location in Lisbon. Walking distance to the main district and there is a subway stop right in front of the hotel. Our luggage was lost and did not arrive for over 24 hours, but the hotel staff was extremely helpful and called the airline for us and gave us amenities to hold us over. If I am ever in Lisbon again I definitely want to stay here.

Hotel is in a great location on the Avenue Da Liberdade which is why i booked it, close to the restaurants of Barrio Alto. Unfortunately the Hotel is not the 5 star standard i would have expected. Small Reception and Bar area, I paid extra for a superior room which was small and had a view of the adjacent graffiti wall. Nice touches like Bose ipod dock and free wifi was good. One of the reasons for booking the hotel was "free Valet Parking" That to me would mean free parking for your stay but in fact only means the Porter will put your car in the car park, the parking is 20 Euro a day! Unfair as its free parking in Lisbon at weekends and the Porter didn't even put the car in the car park for us! Spoilt the stay when we had to argue the parking at the end of the stay. Wouldn't stay here again and wouldn't recommend. I would go back to Corinthia Hotel which is a little further out of town but includes breakfast and large modern 5 star rooms at a substantial saving.

Excellent location: near the center, restaurants galore, shopping, not at all far from tourist sites. Spent 9 nights in a very good small room, we were in the next to smallest size and we fit in adequately. Rooms seemed small for 5 star, but certainly nice 4 star. Many extra touches: slippers, robes, towels placed on floor next to each side of bed around 6PM, decent sized safe. Very helpful, attentive staff. Expensive breakfast but good little coffee house next door. Cost in early August seemed a good deal. I would certainly stay there again, sadly Lisbon was not overly interesting.

Located on Av. Liberdade, this hotel is right in downtown Lisbon - close to the metro station and all the sights. The rooms are extremely comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful. We have stayed before and will come back again !

Enjoyed our stay at this wonderful Lisbon hotel. Close to many of the tourist sites and centrally located to great restaurants as well. Service was excellent as well.

The location is perfect, walking distance from most downtown locations, taxis coming by constantly, sidewalk cafes nearby. Because Libertade is so wide the traffic noise is less than usual for Lisbon. Everything about the hotel was perfect. The staff were terrific, they all somehow knew my name immediately. The restaurant is excellent, best food I had in Portugal by far. My only compliant is that breakfast was not included in the rather high room rate. Free internet was much appreciated.

What a wonderful hotel...The Sofitel is in the heart of the city, close to sites, shopping, and great restaurants. The staff is exceptional and professional. The rooms are lovely, with all the fine touches one would expect from a five star hotel. The only disappointment was having to leave. We would certainly stay at this lovely hotel again. It ranks in our top three hotel experiences -- world wide.

We loved this hotel. The location was excellent and the beds and pillows were bliss, and I am fussy! Reviews I read previously mentioned that breakfast was expensive, but we chose from the a la carte menu and found it good value. We even had tea making facilities in our room, a very welcome extra.

Our first trip to Lisbon ,so after reading reviews about this hotel we decided to book it. We were not disappointed. This hotel is in a perfect position with lots of bars and restaurants nearby. The centre is just a short stroll away. Lots of nice touches in the room eg fresh flowers, L'Occitane products and chocolates placed on bedside table every day. The staff were really friendly and went out of their way to help(especially with the maps and places of interest). We only went for 3 nights but could have done with an extra one as there is so much to see in Lisbon. The buildings are beautiful and there are many streetside cafes. Would highly recommend the place and definitely the Sofitel Lisbon Liberdade Hotel.

Excellent hotel for value, extremely clean and service. Location is awesome, 15 meter from Metro and walking distance of most tourist attractions.

This is an excellent hotel, good location, friendly staff, comfortable etc. We went there for my Birthday (a bit of a significant one!) and my wife had e-mailed the hotel in advance to tell them. On arrival the receptionist wished me a happy birthday and we got a lovely room with a balcony, with a bottle of champaigne and birthday cake on arrival. The concierge in the hotel was excellent and gave us good advise and direction on whare to go and what to do....recommeded 2 very good restaurants. Great hoteland definitely go back.

Recently stayed in Hotel for 3 days for Wedding Anniversary. On check in we were given a map and all the local places of interest pointed out to us and we were told of options re bus trips etc. We were also sent complimentary champagne and fruit to our room. Very pleasant stay with beautiful big feather bed. Staff were extremely helpful and the location was excellent. Would recommend to anyone who wants great location and excellent customer service.

Lovely hotel with excellent service! From check-in, to valet, to luggage delivery, to our unwinding beverage in the bar - all services upon our arrival were wonderful. The room was plenty roomy with a lovely view of the castle, the bathroom was fantastic, the bed was incredibly comfortable, and our room was very quiet. Hotel location is excellent - easy to walk to most places you want to see downtown, or to public transit. This was our second stay in Lisbon and I would choose this location for all future visits, and I would choose this hotel if the price is right. The only reason I knocked "hotel service" was not because of the staff, but because breakfast was not included in the cost of our room (and was otherwise very expensive), and because the workout facility was tiny and could have used a few more fitness machines (one bike and one treadmill).

Excellent service, impressive hotel love the amenities. Employees are very receptive to your needs. I would highly recommend as a place to stay. very convenient and close to alot of major "must see attractions. Love the beddings, able to sleep well. Restaurant service a mediocre not quite there yet, there is still room for improvement.

Wonderful hotel, friendly and helpful staff in reception, great location close to central tourist locations and very short walk to metro station. Few minutes walk to train station for day trip to Sintra and about 10-15 mins walk to train station for day trip to Cascais. Rooms are excellent and beds extremely comfortable. Absolutely no complaints, especially at the price we obtained using hotels.com for our stay in January. Highly recommended.
