Rodeway Inn Santee - سانتي

Right on a noisy main drag. Old. Poorly maintained.

We were pleased with the beds, the cleanliness overall (though as we were packing to go my daughter found an old tater-tot under her bed), the adequacy of hot water for 2 consecutive showers, and the desk help (very friendly). What I would prefer is a location not on the main road (loud traffic noise - a big truck going by even set off my car alarm in the hotel parking lot) and something other than carbs (sweet rolls, orange juice, and regular coffee but no decaf) for the breakfast. My daughter would like to see a blow dryer in the room also.

Everything was very clean and seemed to have been redone recently! There are no frivolous amenties or excessive amounts of soap, shampoo, etc. Just remember to ask for a coffee pot, coffee & cream/sugar, if you need it. Also ask for a hairdryer or clock if you need one. The staff was great! It is evident that they are trying to keep costs down, but they do not want you to go without any item they can get for you. The breakfast that is offered is adequate. Not as much as other places where we have stayed. The hotel was very convenient to where we had a small job in SanDiego. There is nothing like coming back to a clean room with clean white sheets on the bed after a bad day on the job. We recommend this hotel for anyone that is looking for a nice hotel at a very reasonable price.

We stayed an extra night and had two additional charges on my card - one of which I'll have to fight. The rooms are very small and next to a very busy road. Staff was nice.

We have stayed at this property several times, due initially to its proximity to our daughter's home. In addition to that basic convenience, I am impressed by its cleanliness, the professional attitude of staff, nearness to excellent restaurantsand shopping, and its very reasonable rates.

Except for very noisy water pipes at 5 in the morning and people being very loud at the pool, it was an o.k. hotel for the price.

Only tip is to bring a hair dryer, there wasn't one in the room. Other than that, it fit my needs for one night.

The only problem was that the beds were harder than the floor. This place could really soften up the mattresses some and make them a little longer. They were to short for someone over 5'6".

The hotel room was clean. There were no frills like alarm clock or blow dryer. For being in San Diego in the summer and the hotels relative closeness to it the price was right.

Not bad for reservations made the same day. I like the location. It was near where I had to be the next morning. The motel and furnishings are a bit on the old side, but not bad for the price paid. Convenient access to most major fast food restaurants.

We came down to Santee from Orange County for my niece's wedding, so did not spend much time on the property. However, we did find the room to be clean and comfortable, and the staff to be friendly and helpful. We asked for 2 additional pillows and they were brought up within 10 minutes. Our only complaints would be that the bed was really hard and they used a strong fragrant deodorizer that actually made me cough when we first walked into the room. Luckily we only were there long enough to change clothes then it was off to the wedding. When we returned the smell was gone.

VERY SMALL rooms. Old hotel, the room smelled bad, also was very muggy and hot in the room. Not worth the money. Also the continental breakfast was a joke. Do not expect to save money on eating breakfast here. Also they said that if we used the fridge or microwave or safe in the room we would be charged an additional 150.00 (BEWARE) hotels.com did not mention this.

room was clean and updated. refreigerator and microwave but no coffee pot. Although they did serve coffee in lobby in the mornings. no elevator for 2nd floor and wifi did not work

We chose to stay here for one night because it was near Santee Lakes. If you just need a place to sleep, they it's okay. But it smelled of cigarette smoke in the room and beds despite that we were in a non-smoking room. The main road is noisy. We wouldn't stay there again. Instead, we would choose something closer to Hwy 15 and just drive to the lake early in the morning. Or camp at the lake. Also, they claim to provide breakfast, but it's only coffee and breakfast bars/pastries.

Rodeway Inn was more than I expected. The room was very clean with updated furniture, a heat sensor controlled ac/heater (so I didn't have to keep adjusting it through the night), and even soap and shampoo! For a 2 star hotel, I was very impressed! I would definitely stay there again!

Our room at Rodeway Inn was nice, clean, and simple. It's all we expected since we just needed a place to sleep after being at the casino (about 20 minutes away) rather than spending 150+ at the casino's hotel. I would book another night at the Rodeway in if all I need is a place to sleep. We didn't explore the area much, but the hotel is right off of a main street with easy access to highways as well as stores and some fast food places up and down the street. PS- they only supply you with hand soap and shampoo, so don't forget your other personal hygiene products from home! (Also an FYI- the toilet paper was super cheap and left behind trails.)

Fit our needs perfectly. If you are looking for a clean comfortable bed and a hot shower this is the place for you. Functional not fancy.

For the budget minded, this is exactly what one should expect. The room decor was a little out of date and somewhat worn, but clean and functional. The pool was well maintained and clean as well. Overall a bargain at half the price of the Hilton chain.

The bathroom smelled like urine and the bead was like a rock.

When we did our search we searched Gas Lamp and this hotel came up not sure why because it was so far away. But if your looking for a affordable place for some rest it is perfect!

Found no problems with the motel. It's a great price if only need room for a place to sleep in. Pool was clean. Very friendly staff. Only complaint I have is that you are charged $5 extra a day if you want the mini refrigerator unit included. That's kind of annoying seeing how it's not advertised as an extra cost (not that I saw). But still, not that big of a deal.
