Staunton Hotel - لندن

This place has a great location to the underground and downtown London. Also great selection of restaurants and pubs nearby. Friendly staff, good breakfast. Good value for money, but the only negative is the noise. I had a room facing the street and the windows are poorly insulated and the noise is constant through the night.

Following a long journey to London, it was great to find the Staunton less than 10 minutes walk from Tottenham Court Road station. The reception staff was very helpful and the room was excellent. It may be worth noting that there are a few steep stairs to climb if you are on the top floor, but this is not a criticism. The room was relatively quiet and the breakfast was great (recommend the Full English!). I will definitely stay there again if visiting London.

The hotel is locatet in a street with heavy trafic, and if you have a room faceing the road, don`t expect to sleep very much.

Great hotel

this hotel is great

Although my room was on the ground floor, I felt completely safe. The room was small but brilliantly decorated and had absolutely everything you needed. Staff were really helpful, esp. at breakfast. Close enough to all important places either by foot or tube. There was a real feel of a family run business.

Very good location but traffic noise still more than expected (not the hotel's fault). V. good breakfasts - kept us going! V. comfortable bed - room not large but adequate wardrobe/drawer space. Only fault was that shower was too hot and controls not very good - just one of those things. Would definitely go again.

in good location for restaurants etc. Clean, OK rooms - but dirty bathroom. Breakfast in tiny basement room, disappointing food. Phoned to make changes to reservation and reception was very rude and unhelpful. Wouldn't go again - there lots of choice in that area and same street.

Very nice hotel in nice surroundings, but we experienced a bathroom without heating and even one morning only cold water in the shower. Could have been single event, but think staff should have done more to fix problem.

Three of us needed a place to stay for one night before departing on the Eurostar for Paris. Sometimes in Europe it is difficult to find a comfortable room for 3 people without paying an inflated price. The Staunton Hotel has a room, number 203, designed just for this situation. It has one large bed -- it may be king-sized-- and one full-sized bed. The check-in was fast and uncomplicated. I didn't have to show a passport or have a credit card on file. The mini-bar is well stocked. The wifi is free and fast. St. Pancras station is within 2 kilometers of the hotel so if you're traveling to Paris it is definitely a perfect place to stay. I will definitely keep this hotel on my favorites list.

The hotel is good vaue for the money. Staff is very helpful, the breakfast was good. There was a cold as well as hot breakfast option. The down side was the winding staircase and lack of a lift to the upper floors. There is no one to carry bags. Would not recommend to a anyone with a problem climbing stairs.

My family stayed at Staunton Hotel for 6 nights in May. This hotel was absolutely acceptable, but certainly no more than 3 stars. The hall and stairway could use a little freshening with new paint and carpet, but our triple room was comfortable. The breakfast is fine, but the breakfast room is tiny and you might have to wait! I would recommend this hotel to anyone that can handle a few stairs, and doesnt want to be right near to much night life.

First the negatives - The Staunton isn't a true 4 star hotel, no matter what the adverts or signs say. The prices aren't as high as a true 4 star either, so if you are going to be critical, then be prepared to pay lots extra for a "true 4 star" It's more a well appointed 4 * Guesthouse, in a great location, behind the British Museeum, and close to the underground stops @ Goodge St & Tottenham Court Rd. Oxford St is within easy walking distance too. Traffic noise was intrusive, but cured with the use of ear plugs. Breakfast was satisfactory, with help & friendly staff. Would I stay here again?... YES. The location and value in this part of London make it worth it.

Excellent location for theatres, Covent Gdn & Oxford St. Good room, large bed, generally clean. Good value for money with cooked breakfast (to order) included. Staff friendly but not over attentive. Downsides were - not suitable for unfit if rooms upstairs as no lifts. Little bit more attention needed re cleanliness e.g. edges and insides of wardrobes and shower head looked like a health hazard! Overall though, very pleased and would recommend. Would stay there again.

Be forewarned: The breakfast is bad even by British standards: fatty, undercooked bacon; dreadful sausages; toasted white bread; packaged cereals. For a hotel with such nice rooms and location, a little effort at breakfast would be nice.

Checked in early receptionist was very accomodating. Three of us travelled and we had top room (alot of stairs). Room was large with a massive double bed and a small single for my son. Shower didnt work but was repaired instantly Breakfast was good cereals, fruit and then cooked whatever you wanted with decent bacon.Hotel was near tottenham court road or goodge street tube. In all an excellent hotel with friendly helpful staff only complaint is the stairs although we didnt mind.

Friendly and happy staff, who knows to your arrive. We where 3 people in room 204, space in the room was not big, but OK, comfortable bed, nice big bathroom incl bathtub and hairdryer, possible to make tea+coffee in room, flat TV w/international channels. Nice original English breakfast in the basement. Location is in walking distance to most attractions, to Harrods, Tower Bridge, Big Ben you need to take a taxi/bus/underground. Not so good things; -no bellman, no elevator, only one person can go up/down the stairway and its even harder with luggage, no storageroom for luggage the day you checkout, luggage can stay in the open reception area. Gower street is a all day busy traffic street.

Good hotel and a perfect location for the main attractions that London has to offer - particularly Covent Garden and West End for shows/theatre.

Based on a recent 6-day stay, I must question the Staunton's 4-star rating. The problems begin at check-in. There is no bellman and no elevators. The hotel is cobbled together from two or three Victorian townhouses and is a warren of narrow passageways and narrow winding staircases. Guests must muscle their luggage along and up these without assistance. The bed almost completely filled our small room. Storage is limited. We essentially lived out of our bags. The bathroom is poorly lit and has no tub. Hot water was not always available during our stay. On the positive side, the hotel is clean and the included English breakfast is quite good. The location is convenient to the theatre district and transportation. CNN is available on the TV. If a traveler is looking for an authentic 19th century hotel experience, the Staunton will provide it. But do not expect 4-star amenities.

myself and 2 girlfriends stayed in a triple room for a theatre visit 21 aug 09. really good location for oxford street and tott court road, leading to theatreland. hotel was VERY clean and beds very comfortable. we had early lunch booked at the Ivy but couldnt resist the full english breakfast freshly cooked as you like it.

Bodde på hotellet i 2 netter. Veldig fornøyd med rom og beliggenhet. 10 min. å gå til Oxford Street. Et par gater bortenfor ligger Charlotte Street med mange fine restauranter. Hotellet kan anbefales!

Mycket prisvärt litet pittoreskt hotell med bekväma och fina rum och perfekt läge.

Conseils avisés. Services de qualité. Attention, la chambre donne sur la rue; on entendait donc les véhicules pendant la nuit. Nous avons tout de même bien dormis. A le niveau d'un bon 3 étoiles en France

Dejligt lille hotel med meget central beliggenhed. Gode spisesteder i nærområdet. Lille, men godt værelse - dog var der meget varmt. Lækker morgenmad. Vi behøvede ikke få skiftet håndklæder hver dag - lidt mere omtanke på miljø kunne være ønskeligt.

Acceuil à la réception plutôt froid. Courant d'air dans la salle de bain car fenêtre mal isolée. Chambre triple très serrée Hotel très bien situé .

Hotell i bra läge , relativt tyst, litet myigt hotell

Ett litet hotell med trevlig personal som gärna hjälpte till att få ens önskemål uppfylda, nära till tunnelbana och buss. Trafiken på gatan kunde upplevas lite störande ibland.

Pieni mukava hotelli, joka tarjoaa hyvän aamiaisen. Mahdolliset iltaruokailut lähiympäristön ravintoloissa. Isot huoneet, HYVÄ sänky, siisti kylpyhuone (suihku). Ystävällinen henkilökunta. Suhteellisen rauhallinen sijainti. Metroasemat lähellä.

Bra läge i trevliga kvarter. Helt ok frukost - kontinental eller engelsk.

Ett jättebra läge och mysigt hotell. Gat an utanför är starkt trafikerad ovilket gör att det är mycket ljud på natten . I övrigt inget att klaga på. Rymliga rum.Kaveteren är jättemysiga.

hôtel au charme très british, bien situé (station de métro pas loin, à 2 pas d'oxford street, pas très loin de la gare non plus...) Chambre agréable, grand lit très confort... pas de sèche cheveux dans la salle de bain et... il faisait très très chaud... le petit déjeuner continental est un peu "pauvre"

Hyggelig lite hotell med fint stort rom. Vi var tre. To voksne og en tiåring og var fornøyde med størrelsen på rommet. Støy fra gaten, men det var ikke til altfor stor sjenanse. Frokosten var ikke mye å skryte av, så den droppet vi etter et forsøk.

Mkt trevligt hotell i underbart område i Bloomsbury, gångavstånd till det mesta samt suveränt läge nära mysig restauranggata. Kan varmt rekommenderas.

Betjeningen var dårlig, Der var absolut ingen service. Morgenmaden var på cafeteria-niveau. Værelset var mørkt - og det blev ikke bedre af, at der var et stillads opsat udenfor vinduet. Det var en skuffelse!

場所も、TottenhamCourtRoad、GoodgeStreetの2駅を利用できる距離にあり便利です。大英博物館には歩いて行けます。時々お湯が出ない時間もありましたが、全体的に清潔で静かなホテルです。部屋が１階でしたが、エレベータがなさそうだったので、2階になる場合は荷物運びがちょっときついかも知れません。朝食が付いているのはとても便利でした。コンチネンタルとブリティッシュブレックファーストを選べます。フルーツも4種類くらいあります。フレンドリーなスタッフと、黙々と仕事をしているスタッフでバランスが取れていました。次回もまた利用したいホテルです。

Très agréable séjour. Hôtel très bien placé, confortable (chambre 303 sous les toits, triple). Petit-déj assez complet (manquerait le fromage), mais seule une partie (Céréales, jus de fruits, fruits) en self-service; boissons chaudes et oeufs/ charcuterie, croissants et toasts sur commande. Seul le service est minimaliste et presque un peu froid. Une personne au frontdesk, pas forcément très souriante et au petit-déj, serveuses juste cordiales.

Hôtel très bien situé à quelques pas d' Oxford street, arrêt de bus à 50 mètres, station de métro "Goodge Street" à deux paté de maison, donc très facile pour s'y rendre en venant de la gare de St Pancras, pas besoin de prendre un taxi, une travel card achetée lors de notre arrivée et le tour est joué. Cet hôtel est très bien entretenu et le service est impeccable. Chambre très convenable, avec mini bar, coffre fort gratuit, TV écran plat, sèche cheveux, bain et douche, entretien journalier sérieux, bon à savoir : pas d'ascenseur, trois étage maximum, nous avions une chambre triple au 2è étage. Petit déjeuner continental et anglais au choix pas très élaboré mais suffisant agrémenté de jus de fruits frais. Nous y avons séjourné trois nuits en août 2011 et ne manquerons pas d'y retourné vu sa situation, sa propreté et le service de chambre impeccable. A recommander vivement.... ++++++++
