The service and hospitality was outstanding, so glad we stayed there!

Staff were all very helpful & nice . breakfast very nice but the hotel looks tired and could do with an update and its next to petrol stations but within 10 minute walk to Luca old town which is beautiful .

The Hotel Napoleon is located about 10 minutes away from the city walls by foot, great location since the hotel is 2 minutes away from the highway access, with parking. Modern room and a good breakfast. The front desk recomended a restaurant in town that offered great food at good prices and a discount with the hotel . So good location just outside the city walls with parking, two plusses and good room to top that.

The staff is very friendly. Great location. Great price.

I very much enjoyed my stay at the Napoleon Hotel. Although it is situated about 10 minutes outside the wall of Lucca it is easlity accessible by foot. The rooms were spare but clean and the staff people were very nice and helpful. I would recommend it .

Nice and clean place. A 15 min. walk to the inside of Lucca. Was very pleasantly surprised that our walk back from Lucca was well lited at night.

Overall the hotel was fine and good value for money. It lies about 10 minutes from Lucca town centre but it is on a main road which was noisy with the windows open. No restaurants close by but plenty in Lucca.

Staff were very friendly; breakfast was excellent; hotel was extremely good. Would recommend this hotel to most people. It was a ten minutes walk along tricky roads to the city centre.

Fluent English warm welcome and explanation of everything we wanted to know about Lucca and the surrounding area got us off to a good start. This quality and friendliness continued throughout our stay. Take the hotel's advice for the best route for the 15 minute walk into town.

But we didn't 4 star prices either. We stayed 23 days at this property so we got to know it very well. The good: Service was fantastic, the people are very warm and speak good english. They know the area very well and were very helpful. Breakfast was good with a good variety. Most of the food was taken away at around 12 but there was till some cookies/biscuits and some juices that were left out 24 hours. Free Bikes, the free bikes were clutch and we used them daily. Walking from the hotel would certainly get exhausting and they made our stay a lot more enjoyable. Lucca is an awesome place. The city is very nice and interesting, be sure to climb a tower while you're there. If you are an outdoors person tuscany is amazing. Running and Biking is great. Bad: The street in front of the building is very busy all the time. The sidewalks aren't very big and Italians have a terrible habbit of parking on the sidewalk meaning you have to risk life and limb to get by. If you can stay in comperbable a hotel in the walls for the same price I would probably do it (assuming your goal is to see the city). There was airconditioning in our room but it barely worked. there were no screens on the windows and there were always a few misquitos in our room. Even if we left our window closed and which made the room fairly warm, misquitos were still around.

First of all, staff: I travel 100-120 days per year, mostly business, and only went here for vacation; and I have yet to encounter a friendlier staff than here. Whereas my experiences in hotels in Florence have been mixed, at best, this is top-notch. Staff is simply amazing, not only in terms of being service-minded but also in terms of being plain friendly. I would even recommend this hotel on the strength of its staff alone. What is more, though, the hotel itself is great: clean, tidy, and what with everything you would desire, including balconies for some of the rooms. Tuscan summer afternoon with white win on balcony was a highlight! Breakfast is great, and staff makes sure it is a pleasant experience as well. Location is wonderful. I can't believe how some people complain it's too far from the old town. It's only about 15 minutes' walk (if you walk slowly!), while it takes you five minutes at worst by bicycle (which are readily available for free if you contact the amazing staff). In short: great hotel!

A lovely hotel in a beautiful city. Very helpful and friendly English speaking staff. Located 10-15 mins walk from the city wall (ask the hotel how to get there - don't walk the most direct way or you will get stuck!). Bus station and rail station 20- 25 mins walk. Buses for Florence, Viareggio, Pisa and airport all stop outside the hotel and its easy to find from motorway. Free cycle hire at the hotel is useful but request the previous night. Breakfast provided a good choice which is unusual in Italy! The only negatives were the traffic noise ( we asked the hotel if we could move to a quieter room and they readily agreed we could do so after the first night, when a room would become free. By then we were so attached to our lovely room we decided to cope with the noise by sleeping with windows shut and air con on!). The air con was not very powerful and not all the gadgets worked properly e.g. the switch for lifting the blinds but these were minor issues. Everything was very clean and towels, toiletries etc were good. You can use the hotel computer for a small charge.

We had a marvelous stay, everyone was very helpful. Very convenient location. The large balcony showed the beautiful sunset.

Excellent staff helped us with all we needed. Good English, recommendations, wi-fi help. Nice modern place in great location on edge of Lucca.

We stayed in the hotel for three nights - it was great. We got a room on the fourth floor with a wonderful view of the old town and a balcony.. The free breakfast was very good, and the free internet (for our two laptops) was very helpful. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We walked from the train station, but I would recommend taking a cab.

Napoléon was absolutely an ok hotel for a couple of days in Lucca, and maybe a good basecamp for visiting the areas around-seeing that it is close to the highway, but per se it lacked a few things to reach the 4.0 score here. First of all, the aircondition is season based, so if it´s hot in early may, you will have to open a window, this window might be facing the busy street from the city to the highway. Also, if you are accept a rom on the 5. floor, the elevator stops on the 4. and there´s a narrow spiral staircase the last flight. Anyway, the breakfast was nice enough and the room clean, and the city of Lucca is always worth the visit

O hotel é muito bom, a recepcionista muito carismática, nos explicou tudo sobre a cidade. O quarto e o banheiro muito bons. Gostamos muito!

hotel situé près de la voie rapide qui contourne Lucca, proche des murailles et à environ 1 Km à pied du centre historique...personnel serviable et accueillant, chambre correcte, bon petit déjeuner, parcking fermé gratuit, bon rapport qualité prix: on reviendra ...

Lo mejor: el precio. Habitación y servicio correctos, pero fuera del centro (a unos 15min a pie) y a pie de autopista, con mucho ruido de noche.

posizione buona, hotel pulito, ottima colazione, farsi la doccia con l'acqua fredda dopo la maratona non è esattamente piacevole. il problema non è stato risolto nemmeno il giorno successivo.

meget bra, men å skru av airconditionen 1.sept. er galskap.Kunne ikke sove mer enn 4 timer om natten , i +29 grader.....

Oppholdet på hotellet var greit. Savnet en uteplass hvor en kunne sitte sammen med venner. Det var synd da det var veldig varmt og fint vær. Frokosten var kanskje litt i enkleste laget, savnet tomater, agurk etc. Savnet også majones. Servicen var god, velvillighet fra alle ansatte. Var behjelpelig med transport. Kopihjelp og annen rekvisita. Følte at de prøvde å ta vare på oss.

ok hotel, men havde forventet lidt mere lækkert til pris. virkede lidt gammelt og nedslidt. meget fin morgenmad dog. ikke særlig charmerende beliggenhed - ud til traffikeret vej, men supert at der kunne lånes cykler , til at komme helt ind i centrum. let at finde og køre til, samt dejligt med parkeringsmulighed.

Et fint hotel - ligger måske et lidt kedeligt sted i byen, men er nemt at komme til i bil. Gratis P-plads og gratis udlån af cykler. God og varieret morgenbuffet. Værelserne er komfortable og alt, hvad du har brug for, er til rådighed, Folkene i receptionen var virkelig venlige, hjælpsomme...

Et firestjernet hotel er måske lige et par stjerner for meget. Hotelets nærhed til den virkelige hyggelige by Lucca, trækker godt nok oplevelsen op. Kvaliteten af hotellet, taget i betragtning af at det er kategoriseret som et 4 stjernet hotel, er noget skuffende. Hotellet virker slidt på mange punkter og billede materialet som sælger hotellet på internettet er ikke helt tidsvarende, det fremgår bl.a. at man på hotellet kan låne cykler, det kan man også, man skal bare være heldig hvis den er funktionsdygtig. Personalet på Hotellet er til gengæld utrolig søde og meget service minded, ligeledes er der kun 5 min. til den gamle bydel i Lucca

We enjoyd the stay. Good place for a short period as starting point for your excursions in the surrounds. Obviously not a very romantic hotel but clear, close to town and easy to find.

Meget venligt personale. Fint med gratis cykel udlejning. Men et stort minus at tagtaressen var lukket. og i beskrivelsen står der at der er en have. men haven er to stole, som står lige ud til en motortrafikvej

Hotelli Napoleon soveltuu hyvin automatkailijalle, helpon löydettävyytensä, ajoyhteyksien ja pysäköinnin kätevyyden ansiosta. Hotellin isäntäperhe on suuri Suomen ystävä. Luccan muurien sisäpuolelle autoilu on hankalaa, joten hotellin sijainti kohtuulisen kävelymatkan (700m) ja kaupunkibussien pysäkin läheisyydessä

Très bon, je voyais seule avec mon chien, j'ai eu droit à une chambre sur l'arrière du bâtiment, donc pas eu à subir le bruit de la route (j'ai même laissé la porte fenêtre ouverte). L'hôtel bénéfice d'un parking (très pratique) et se trouve à 10 min. de marche du centre historique de Lucca. Situation idéale ! Accueil très agréable (et en français) de la part du réceptionniste. Hôtel à recommander !

This should really not be a 4 star hotel, it is a 3 star hotel with a 4 star breakfast!! The breakfast was really good, but the room was small and the bathroom ect. was from the 1940's. However, the real problem was the neighbourhood! The hotel is right next to a huge freeway with non-stop traffic and nothing but gas stations surrounding it! If you go to Lucca, pay a little extra and live inside the city walls instead of living in this hotel. --- Hotellet kan anbefales, hvis du er på bilferie og kun skal bo der et par nætter. Det er bestemt ikke et hyggeligt område, og der er for langt at gå ind til byen.

Fin beliggenhed i forhold til ture i Toscana. Vejen den ligger ved er meget larmende. Morgenmaden er flot i forhold til prisen.

Wir waren 12 Tage im Hotel Napoleon. Die ungünstige Lage an einer Hauptverkehrsstraße wurde nebensächlich, da die Fenster dicht waren und die Klimaanlage gut funktionierte. Das Zimmer wurde täglich gereinigt, tägl. Handtuchwechsel. Super waren die herzliche Betreuung durch das Personal an der Rezeption, das gute Frühstück, die kostenlosen Leihfahrräder (müssten mal überholt werden ;-) ) und die Nähe zur wunderschönen Innenstadt von Lucca.

Een goed hotel, prima te vertoeven. Een kwartiertje lopen van het historische centrum. Omdat we een queensize bed hadden, was de rest van de kamer erg krap bemeten. Daardoor ook maar 1 stoel(tje). Een heerlijk bed, en voortreffelijke douche.
