Marriott Portsmouth - بورتسماوث

I had a very comfortable but short stay, it was entirely suitable for the purpose as I needed to catch the Cross Channel Ferry in the morning and that is barely five minutes away from the hotel.

We had a room with two double beds, very comfortable, plenty big enough, for a family of four. The bathroom was modern and clean. The pool was lovely and warm, easy to access and welcoming. The breakfast was lovely. There is a small nightly charge for parking but somehow that was included with the hotels.com rate (it is worth checking). It is across from Port Solent with all the restaurants there but the hotel restaurant menu wasn't any more expensive so it might have been worth staying in. Very pleasant stay all around!

A very pleasant and restful place to come back to after some energetic days exploring the great attractions in Portsmouth. Although about 3 to 4 miles from the center, it took no time at all to get in to the centre of Portsmouth. The hotel staff were very courteous and helpful. The breakfasts were great and the Hotel Restaurant offered some very tasty food in the evenings I would like the opportunity of another visit, as my wife and I only had time to visit some of the many attractions Portsmouth has to offer. Thank you Marriott, Portsmouth for making our stay so relaxing and enjoyable.

Had a lovely time! Both adults and children enjoyed the swimming pool and sauna, which relaxed everyone. The range of breakfast choices was excellent. A real treat!

Located out of town on a corner plot in what looks like a wasteland, but close to M27, M275 and A27 -with resultant traffic noise. Very good room, but not enough bedclothes and no extra blankets/duvets in the top of the wardrobe. I wasn't given the city view room promised in my booking confirmation just a noisy view of a major crossroads junction. Fortunately, all I needed the room for was bed and breakfast. Good bathroom with efficient shower. Breakfast mediocre but adequate. Good coffee. This is a typical impersonal businessman's hotel. I wouldn't wish to stay here again but it may well suit a company rep.

very clean and tidy hotel with swimming pool etc. walking distance to port solent which has a large selection of restaurantes and bars looking over a harbour full of expensive boats.

We arrived in the afternoon and used the excellent spa - good steam and jacuzzi and pool good enough size though not for serious swimming. Beds comfortable and evening meal and breakfast both excellent though a few more staff would help turn round quicker. A good base for visiting Portsmouth but you will need transport to get into town.

Fantastic hotel, stayed there many times now. Very clean, excellent breakfast, and quality evening dining available if you so wish. Nice, but small, swimming pool for our 5 yr old, but not restricted to just children. Adults only 8pm onwards. Very clean excellent changing facilities. Quality rooms, pleasant staff, loads of parking and close to everything!.

Stayed in the hotel previously. Had great stay then and had a great stay this time around. Gym and pool always a good draw. Only downside to this visit was a perculiar smell from the bathroom during the night - not your typical toilet smell, rather chalky??!! Otherwise great

very close to gunwharf keys - short drive away hotel was lovely swimming pool was amazing one of the best trips of my life!

This hotel is lovely but nowhere near Portsmouth City Centre - probably my fault for not reviewing correctly but beware of this.

Fantastic hotel, very relaxing stay, suberb family room with 2 huge double beds, top quality breakfast and service. We had no time to use the pool in out stay but checked it out and looked fantstic as well. 10/10

This appears to cater to business travelers. The rooms were adequate for one night but a bit small for a family.

Hotel was very nice. Very impressive lobby. We did not eat in restaurant as it was far too expensive. There was not much choice on menu for our two small children. The breakfast was £15.95 per person. This is an outrageous price, and unjustifiable. We had our evening meal and breakfast in the pub next door which is a beefeater. Very very reasonable. Full braekfast was £7.99 per person plus 2 children ate FREE with two adults

The hotel was quite new and because of this it looked great but service was not very good from some others were excellent. Pool was small and not deep enough to swim lenghs.

Had to waited for 45 mins in a mass scrum of upset guests for breakfast. The hotel was full but not enough staff or tables to cope. When eventually seated, found there was no food at buffet. Staff were not interested in us or others and we couldn't believe how disorganised the simple task of breakfast became. Note, suggest you just book room only and eat elsewhere.

Stayed one night with two 8 year olds check in was really good the boys loved the pool and sky tv in the room we had two queen sized beds and breakfast was very good I would have no hesitation in recommending the Marriott Portsmouth

The rooms were fabulous we stayed Friday 12th August overnight and Satrurday 21st august to break up our journey each way to France. This stay really made our holiday to France as we had travelled 5 hours from the north of England eac way. The rooms were luxury and the breakfast superb as where all the staff. We would defnitely stay at te Marriott. again. We had 2 children with us 2 yrs and 11 yrs and they enjoyed the luxury as much as the adults.

Located close to motorway on one side and dual carriageway on another, it can be noisy, although this didn't cause us great concern apart from the first night - perhaps we quickly became aclimatised ! This is my only negative comment.

Great staff, spa was wonderful, quiet and comfortable. You would need a car to get to Portsmouth easily but it is only about 10 minutes drive away.

We was on a trip to France from potsmouth after traveling down from yorkshire was treated and welcomed with a very polite and helpul maner hotel was close to supermarket and large butifull marina with restraunts and bars . the room was exelent and i will definatly be recomending this hotel to all my friends if i come down again i will definatly stay here

Unusual view my room, down into lounge area, and when in lounge could hear people in the swiming pool area.

I would recomend this hotel to my family and friends with or with out children,the staff were very helpful and always happy to help and all of the staff had a bright and cheery smile,( not alot of that now days) every where was clean,and the food was excellant

Stopped here with baby after ferry crossing from France with fractious baby Check-in was easy, and very helpful receptionist made sure we had quiet rooms, changed us to a King-size room from two queens (so we had room for the travel cot), and then even double checked that the wedding party booked in for that night were on a different floor. After having stopped in the Ibis on the way out, this was easily worth the £20 extra. Lots of space, lovely bed, quiet, and controllable aircon perfect. Only down side was there was a bit too much road noise (even on the 7th floor), as it is on the A27, and close to M27 and M275, and there wasnt double glazing. I know this is all standard from the main Marriott brand, but it was greatly appreciated. Will definitely stay again

Great pool and child friendly

Me my husband and young son stayed for a night, was pleasant room top covers of the bed could of been cleaned and a bit dusty but room was quite spacious, the swimming pool is very small didnt use the gym, staff on reception and bar was a bit unhappy a nice smile and chat would of been nice. but for the money you pay was ok. port solent 15 mins walk or 5 min drive some nice restaurents there, gun wharf only 10 mins drive.

After a tortuous 7.5 hour road journey (300 miles, 3 road closures enroute etc etc) what a wonderfully friendly and efficient welcome at reception. From there to the room where there were two queen sized beds (six pillows / bed + cushions) - very comfortable. The room was very clean and tidy and the bathroom spotless. A lovely refreshing shower and a very good sleep. At breakfast - again a warm greeting, shown to table and invited to help ouselves to a full range of buffet style breakfast - set up for the rest of the day. Thank you Marriott Hotel, Portsmouth.

We were looking to stay in a hotel near to the ferry port. We were under the impression that it was a stones throw away. However, it was a car journey of 10 mins. The hotel was very plush and probably more suitable for couples. The children were really looking forward to the swimming pool but were very disappointed when they arrived in their costumes at the pool's edge to be told no children allowed in the pool after 8pm. There were no signs or information regarding this anywhere. One of the main reasons for booking this hotel was for added bonus of the swimming pool. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean.

Lovely hotel, really well decorated. Very comfortable beds. We booked this for the night our of wedding just for the stunningness of the room and location to our wedding venue. The location of the hotel is great for access to motorway, Port Solent, Gunwharf and the beaches.

Really nice hotel. Staff extremely friendly and very helpfull. Rooms were super comfortable. Perfect for a weekend break.

Very pleasant stay at the Marriott Portsmouth. Staff were very helpful and friendly giving lots of advice re local points of interest etc. The rooms were very comfortable with king sized beds and good decor. I would definately stay in this hotel again and would reccomend it to others.

A good hotel for families and others alike to stay in Portsmouth area. Comfortable bed, good breakfast, town centre easily reachable.

Of the chain hotels I think Marriott is one of the best. Good size rooms, comfy beds and nice and clean.

Checkin was a bit slow. Rate was a bit high for what we got. Hotel and restaurant were noisy due to functions and a TV with football playing. High ceilings meant there was high levels of background noise. Restaurant staff worked hard. Food was mediocre. Breakfast was hell - too packed / cramped with people waiting for tables. Guests were frustrated and rude (pushing to get food) as a result.
