First time in Helsinki, and we couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. Very clean, modern, great location for walking around and the breakfast that was included was great.

Breakfast arrangements were not good. Looked like they had way too few staff. You had to clean away loads of dirty dishes from the tables to even find somewhere to sit. Everything was running out - coffee, bread, juice...I have stayed in this hotel many times before - it was dissapointing to see the standard of the breakfast go down.

Love the Glo Hotel! Always comfortable. Always super clean.

This hotel is generally of a high standard. The hotel is located -mid center- surroundings are just perfect, as in very high class that matches the hotel. Cannot put a finger on the service, above expectations, which allready would be kinda high for at place like this. So all the good stuff is here, whats intersting is the other things :) Things that can be improved or taken care of. 1) The aircondition in the room seemed to me a bit off scale, so i like it warm, and it was normal temp and it took some work getting that to work. 2) small thing, the bathroom shower door, didnt seal up, so after showering the floor was soaked... guess that would not be the case in most of the rooms and i survived with some wet footprints on the carpet cus i was lazy that night :D Breakfast, again equal to, to above my expectations for a hotel like this. Which means good. After check out service / storage of luggage meant a great deal that this was controlled by staff and operated using a numbered tag system. Very satisfied with this! :)

When a hotel recommends guests to re-use towels instead of having them changed daily, there should be towel rails (ideally a heated one) and hooks in the bathroom. Hotel Glo had two hooks that were taken by the bathrobes, nowhere to hang towels. Underfloor heating would also be nice in the bathroom.

The hotel is located just steps away from Esplanadi (right next to the more expensive Kamp). Rooms are fine, breakfast is good, the bar is ok (not the best service, but this seems to be the norm in Helsinki), wireless works well -- what more could you ask for in a business hotel? It has become my preferred hotel in downtown Helsinki.

GLO is one of the best hotels I've visited. During my visit I was the leader of a group of young students, and they were also very satisfied with the hotel. Thank you!

Nice hotel. Located in the center of Helsinki.

We choose GLO because of the beds -and their wonderful sleeping menu. Best beds in town. The only thing we can complain about is that you cannot open the windows and hence the air can get a bit stuffy in the room. But love the little tiger on the bed when you check in. Great for kids too with possibility of having both Wii and Playstation in the room.

Stayed 1 night with my wife - great hotel for spending a romantic weekend getaway! Perfect location in the middle of everything, but nothing loud disturbing. Hotel room was really good and breakfast excellent. Recommend it!

From hundreds of hotel nights in the last years, this is one of the best hotels I have experienced - easily in the top 1%. I stayed in a de luxe room that had everything including a very comfortable bed. The service was excellent. I would love to come back!

They may still have just about the noisiest and most useless aircon in a quality hotel - but it's still slap bang in the middle of Helsinki, with brilliant connections everywhere, the bed is still number one in hoteldom, the rooms are well appointed and they do strive to give you a very good service.

Everything about this hotel was great except the help from the front desk. Most of the clerks had a brusk indifferent manner. Fortunately, I did not have to access their help because the hotel is so near to the tourist information centre. When checking out I was told my bill was not paid prior to booking. It was an uncomfortable scene but I held my ground and did not pay again. We booked out early AM stored our luggage and went sightseeing upon our return the clerk did apologize and said she had made a mistake. However, by that time the damage had been done.

We had a wonderful stay over the Labor Day weekend. Helsinki and Tallinn were beautiful to see and experience, and the GLO Hotel provided a great base of operations. The front desk staff was very helpful in directing us to closeby sights as well as public transportation. We took advantage of the breakfast buffett, which was well stocked with a wide variety of cereals, breads, meats and boiled eggs.

The location is really good and provides a good walking experience of Helsinki. It is opposite the Fazer store which is a big plus. The breakfast was very good with attention given to the quality of the food. The room was stylish and the shower pressure (an important aspect for me) was exceptional. A few minor issues: 1. The two individuals at the reception were always busy and I had to wait for at least 15 mins every time I had a question downstairs during different times of day. 2. The temperature of the room didn't seem to change much when I played with the +/- thermostat controller. Luckily it was very good weather outside. 3. The phone is not on the night stand but on the work desk. So this made it inconvenient when needing to pick it up and then return to sleep or calling from the bed.

Service is excellent. The staff were knowledgeable, patient and so accommodating. Location excellent. The room would have been fine but was marred by the presence of giant dust bunnies under the desk and chair. Major (LARGE) dust bunnies on the sprinklers. My allergies were at full force... re: room design is form with poor function Privacy issues. As noted by previous reviews the shower area did not have a door but this was a minor inconvenience since there were only two of us, we just needed to warn each other. Would be problematic if more people were sharing the room. Showering with 1/3 shower door was a pain bec. can really splash water all over the bathroom.

Very nice hotel. Fantastic Spa and Gym )since it belongs to Kämp). Nice breakfast and perhaps I was being unlucky but my bathroom smelled mold, not so nice...

Excellent location and room very comfortable, good sound insulation-very quiet despite being in busy area. Staff at front desk very helpful. We would stay there again. However we noticed that housekeeping is minimalist (no cleaning of used cofee cups from minibar unless by request-expected to clean ourselves), and there is no tidying up of room (except for making bed the room will look exactly as you left it) and breakfast area looks a little shabby and not particulalry neat throughout the breakfast service.

Great central location , friendly staff who all spoke good english, and seriously cool bedrooms Carlitos restaurant and outside seating area could do with good clean was our only gripe! Oh and 38 Euros for 2 glasses of sauvignon blanc (albeit large ones) being the other one!

Great location, very large, modern and comfort room. Good breakfast buffet (which is important given the prices in Helsinki). Leaving the Glo Beast behind (the stuffed tiger in your room) is tough!

A couple of times when they cleaned the room in the mornings they didn't replace soap at the sink or in the shower. Once they just put water in the dispenser. Everything else about the hotel was lovely, great parks and shops nearby.

We had the Glo Suite. For the price we had a very large room with double beds and lounge area for sitting and watching tv. The decor was very modern and very comfortable. THis was a great value for our money. Hotel was also in a great location near the city markets, the parks and churches. The spa also looked amazing but was booked up so you need to plan an appointment ahead.

I can, without hesitation, recommend Hotel GLO to anyone. Excellent room, excellent, breakfast, excellent front desk staff, excellent location, etc. etc.

The GLO hotel is a superb example of Helsinki its self, the room was very quiet, the beds are so comfortable and the bathroom tastefully modern. Breakfast buffet was to look forward too every morning, from eggs to fish to cheese cereals and fruit one does not need lunch!! All the staff couldn't be more pleasant if they tried, nothing was too much trouble including the later than usual checkout as we had a very late flight and our room wasn't required untill much later for the same reason. When we checked out there were two very large rooms for luggage so that we could go shopping without lugging everything with us. A tip from us, the 615 airport bus stops a five minute walk from the GLO we paid four euro's a taxi is over ten times that price which we had to take on arrival as it was 2am in the morning and the last bus is at 1.30am. GLO is so central to everything, the Finnish people have tourism down to a fine art there are information girls all over the city who all speak English, one only has to be looking at a map and one of them will be asking can I help? We didn't meet anyone who didn't speak English or had some grasp of it which was very refreshing. Go to the markets at 4pm and eat all you like for about five euros. All in all a super spot to visit and stay we will reccomend to anyone and we look forward to a future visit to Helsinki and to explore more of Finland

The hotel glo was very clean throughout, breakfast was nice too. Staff very friendly and spoke english very well. Downside bar closed on Sundays and only free internet facilities in reception area, there is the opportuntity to have access in the room however at a price. Overall if I were to visit Helsinki again I would definately stay in hotel glo again.

Great location but had problems with AC in our room and it was not resolved until the next day when we were offered a change of rooms. One miserable night, during a rare heat spell in Helsinki. Management's reaction to the problem was disappointing. Gave us the run around about the cause (broken AC) and then did not make any discount for our trouble. I loved the hotel once we had a suitable room, but the management was disappointing. If things don't go well---not a good place to be.

The reception staff are very helpful n polite. The rooms are clean and the breakfast has a wide selection. Dun expect too much service during breakfast as you will notice only 1-2 staff working in a big restaurant. They are overworked. The location is in the middle of the city, great.

Great location. Easy to get everywhere. Will return again

Having stayed at some crampy and crummy hotels in Europe recently, we were surprised to see the complete opposite when we arrived at Hotel GLO. The reception area and bar were very modern and "trendy." Our room was practically perfect. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was wonderful, the view of the street below was a huge bonus. The stuffed tiger on the bed was a nice touch (although it's 30EUR to buy it haha). The location couldn't have been better. Literally five minute walk from the central station and another five or so to the harbor area. We didn't have to walk more than 10-15 minutes to get to anywhere we wanted, really. The area of the hotel was always bustling, even at night. Some great restaurants nearby (try Juuri!). Overall, couldn't have asked for a better hotel in a better location. It definitely made our stay in Helsinki that much better.

We are retirees travelling to Helsinki for the first time. Glo is at the heart of every activities..Busy surrounding yet quiet in the night. Very suitable hotel for family and busy businessman. Staff are vey helpful and very informative. We thoroughly enjoy our stay with you and will definitely go to Helsinki and stay with Glo Hotel again

The Hotel Glo is a gorgeous modern hotel with all the amenities! It is very centrally located by the Esplanade, Alexanderinkatu, and near Mannerheimintie. It is a short walk from the Market Square.

I stayed at this hotel for 5 days. I have read many good reviews prior to my booking with this hotel. The reviews i read are accurate. The hotel is convenient to all stores, train stations, sight seeing places, etc. The hotel receptions are friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast is awesome. Food is fresh and good with many selections.

The Hotel GLO in Helsinki is in the exellent locatin right in the middle of the city center. The staff is very helpful and frendly. Room was comfortable, v. clean and nicely furnished.
