Would not recommend this hotel to anyone. There is better overnight layover hotels closer to the airport.

My stay was very nice. The only thing lacking for me ,as a business traveler, was wi fi in the room. Very awkward working out of the lobby.

arrived at hotel at 2.30pm to be told room not ready finally got room at 4pm was not the only person with this problem the room i booked was for 2 adults and 2 children including breakfast then to be informed that childrens breakfasts not included as hotel policy considered them additional persons i dont know how they become additional if in the original booking ?? after a long talk was not able to resolve problem with management i think they need to check on what rooms they advertise and with what additional extras

My stay at the Pearl Manila was wonderful,and will stay again on my next visit.

For those of you planning to stay at the Pearl Manila hotel I strongly recomend not arriving earlier than their designated 2pm check in time or else they will charge you an exra days stay. The room I recieved(and I booked my room a few days ahead) was musty smelling like mold or meldew. The beds are not very comfortable but the air conditioner worked well. Wifi is only available on 3 of the floors but also works well. The buffet was actualy very good and thats about all there is to say about the Not Such A pearl Manila

Positive: very good breakfast, well equipped rooms, nice swimming pool Negative: no european adapters for sockets, rather old rooms, wi-fi in the public area didn't work at my laptop, one of 2 elevators was broken

I have only one cooment. The Check-In time is 2:00pm instead of 12:00 noon.

we had a fantastic time staying in pearl manila, the staff are really friendly and very accommodating. The food was really good and the room was nice and clean we even recommended it to the family who's coming to stay this coming feb

Overall, clean and low awareness of a taxi driver willing to play it is difficult to visit. Different hotels and wrong, clean hotel in a family atmosphere

I often stay in Pearl Manila. I am satisfied with the service. though they have started cutting the cost in many ways. Friendly and helpful staff. they still serve breakfast which is included in the package. I enjoyed staying there.

This hotel had the dirtiest carpets in their rooms. Also their bedsheets and blankets make you itchy and you feel that some tiny invisible insects are biting you. Seems you get what you pay for. The staff were very polite and friendly. The breakfast was good.

Over all the wait staff in the resturant provide very good service. The front desk staff was not quite as helpful. The overall condition of the room and comfort of the room was marginal at best. The hotel is in need of a complete renovation. I would guess that it has not been updated in the last twenty years.

This is a nice hotel IF you need to be near the Embassy or older part of Manila. It is somewhat older and it shows. Staff are very friendly. Breakfast buffet is totally the same everyday...so hope you like scrambled eggs. But, I'm not knocking it I had plenty and it was good food. To be included with room at the rate I paid it was a bargain !

The staff was very friendly. The swimming pool in the 9th floor on a roof thats attached to the Hotel is excellent. It's overlooking Manila. Views in general are good or very good.

I stayed at The Pearl Manila Hotel with my family this August and we enjoyed the time we spent at the hotel. The location is very convinient to go to those places that we've wanted to visit.

the room does not have adequate lighting. my booking has an extra bed but there was none

Had to wait one hour to have my room ready. The faucet has a water hammering problem. I have to wait 2 hours from the maintenance department to fix a leak in the aircon unit. After it was finally fixed, the maintenance people didn't even clean the mess they left. The restroom in the gym smells bad. Definitely won't be coming back and I make sure to tell people to choose another hotel.

Nice size hotel room, everything and you can tell it, has the potential to be up there with the best, it is just time for a makeover, 99% of the hotel aven the small ones have internet access in the rooms, wow...with big hotel everybody has to come out of your room and huddle in a small area in the lobby area to access the internet....not good.....

the reception was not clear about check out time on our reguest it was not later than 1 pm, then they called our room 11,40 am and told us to be out at 12 you see that is not satisfiring, then when we told them that we was told no later than 1 pm another questions pooped up who been telling us that, all that hustling so we just went out of bed out of the room and checked out

I have stayed in this hotel few times friendly staff and this time I found that the old carpet on the lift levels have been changed. Last time it gave an old look. Ideal location with few food outlets nearby. May be because of the world economic crisis I could see some cost cutting, like no more jam served in the breakfast as they used to do before! Still a good place to stay, price-wise.

I thought pearls had value? No hot water, TV was from the seventies and many shades of the rainbow. I will never stay here again nor recommend it to anyone. In fact, I will discourage all to steer clear of this place.

Next to Jolibee and McDonalds, just across from Chow King and most importantly a few steps from U.N. Avenue LRT train station which is the fastest way to go around. Delicious breakfast buffet (not to mention one can have his or her eggs anyway he or she likes, beautiful swimming pool (it was raining, however, so I was not able to use it) great staff - everyone was nice and unlike most hotels - a FREE WI-FI, but you have to be on the 9th and ground floor, not too bad because the restaurant and coffee shop are on the 9th floor so one can use their chairs and tables. This is the second time I used this hotel.

great value for your money although needs some improvement on some things. The bathroom need upgrade outdated. I borrowed a hairdryer and it looked like it has been dropped a few times and old. No iron in the room. The buffet food served was good, bed was clean and linens changed daily.

If you’re looking for a cheap hotel its fine. But rooms are very empty; Furniture was in need of repairs or replacement. The bathroom needed repairs, the room water heater we're only about 7 gallons. They charge for internet in the rooms, When it worked! The laundry charges we're extremely high. The Seven Seas restaurant had fair menu and for the most part the food was good but the restaurant its self was in very bad shape. Very nice gym and pool area. Business center was set-up very well with anything you needed. The hotel staff was the best. Great friendly people i enjoyed dealing with them. Close to Mall of Asia and the Ocean Park. Robinson Plaza mall is also close.

This hotel is in need of some serious work. the room i stayed in was painted like a morgue.. a hotel should be colorful.. the air con didnt work have the time i was there..the lighting was poor.. they had a huge entertainment center with a tiny 19 inch tv. the hotel carpet was badly stained and the walls are peeling.. i could hear everything the people in next room were saying.. and doing..all the beggers standing outside make u hold ur wallet tightly.. the queen sized bed was 2 twins pushed together.. so sleeping in middle caused bed to slide apart. The internet connection was a joke.. the signal came from the college next door, the password changed everyday without being told, and it only accessed a few sites..Taxis stay away from this hotel, i had to walk 3 blocks to find one.. the breakfast buffet was ok.. but emptys quick if ur there an hour after it opens.. the staff was very friendly except they always asked my finace who i was and what room i was staying in. as if they thought she was from the street. the bathroom was terrible.. tiolet kept cloging up.. hot water lasted about 5 minutes.. pool should be open later then 9pm. a hot tub would be nice addition.. i would not stat here again.. for the price i paid hotel should have been in better overall shape.

I was in search of an inexpensive hotel close to the U.S. Embassy. That’s pretty much what I got. My Fiancé was up for her visa interview. We were only going to be there a few days. It is a short cab ride to the embassy. The hotel staff is very nice and honest. My room was in bad need of an update, new carpeting, furnishings, Television, internet access and some maintenance on the air conditioner. From what I saw it was a truly beautiful hotel at one time, but it really needs an overhaul now. The food, breakfast was included and was nice; coffee was good eggs to order fresh fruit and local things as well. We ate dinner there one night and ordered what was recommended and it was very nice as well, would have eaten there again if I had more time. Neighborhood was not horrible, lots of things walking distance close by, fast food restaurants, Grocery store and mini mart, lots of street vendors. And you are very close to a very big hospital. Would I recommend it to others? If you are looking for something clean and safe, close to the U.S. Embassy and inexpensive and aren’t too picky about everyone’s skin color being blue on the TV, with a air conditioner that works but makes interesting noises when it cycles or having to go to the lobby floor 9 for internet access, decent food. Then yes I would recommend it. However, if you are looking for a business, vacation hotel or extended stay most likely not. I would, however, recommend the Renascence in Makati for business or vacation.

The Pearl Manila was not bad at all. the room we got in the 12th floor is decent enough. its not that super big, but its very cozy, though the view outside our room was not that scenic, its fine, because it's manila, more on buildings. though in the 9th floor wherein the pool is located, my partner manage to get good photographs. we never tried the pool, but its only 4 feet and small, but you can do laps. the breakfast buffet, was not so good, there's very limited choices, but, their coffee was great, and delicious fruits (should be, ur in a tropical country.) the staff were friedly even the guard outside. since we always go out at night and goes back in the lieu of the morning, the guards were doing their jobs well. they have lift personnel, they are also friendly, and the room service crew was also uberly friendly. Location wise, well it really depends on why are u staying there, since we have a wedding to attend to in paco park, the venue was absolutely near, as in walkng distance. over all, me and my partner, and my friends who went there to change clothes, were purelty satisfied, i can recommend this hotel to anyone, and i will definitely stay in the future,, keep up the good work!

For the price is a very good hotel. I was really satisfied and the service was excellent. They are corteous, polite and helpful. The area is close to public transportation and there's a lot of taxis. I will recommend this to others while visiting Manila.

I was there in March 2011. It is not the Ritz. It is a GREAT value for the money. Bad Points: (there are not many). Beds could be softer. Dinner items are hit or miss, but very cheap. Yes, the elevator is slow, but at this savings, I am happy to wait a few moments rather than pay double the price some where else. Good Points: Breakfast buffet was great and loaded until an hour after breakfast was over. Within walking distance to a Robinson's. Close to Rizal Park and National Museum. NO bugs. Pool cleaned daily (4 feet but you can do laps). Guards at entrances. The best part of stay was the friendly and accomodating staff. Recommendations for Hotel: Offer room service. Offer champagne at bar and in room service (there are a lot of couples and I think they would appreciate it). If I return to Manila, I won't even look at other hotels, I will stay at the Pearl.

located between the aiport and mall of asia about 150 pesos taxi ride. the service was good. security was great for being downtown.for the prce of the room it was great.i would stay there again was just there 0/26/11 thru 0/28/11

Pearl Manila was good match for us--for proximity to historic tourism and using public transit as much as possible. It is one block from the United Nations stop which is about a 20 minute train ride from the airport(Route 2 on the shuttles will drop you at the LRT station) or about the same length in the taxi. The old Spanish fort(Intramuros) and RIzal Park are all within easy walking distance (10 min straight up Gen Luna street). They were very accomodating--with a porter keeping our bags on the day before and after our stay. The price was fair(not budget) and included breakfast. It was a simple room but good sized, very clean, and strong AC. Amenities include a rooftop pool, but the free Wi-fi in the 9th floor sky lobby was only working about 50% of the time. Would recommend if your traveling and seeking more than just a hostel in accomodations and price.

This was my 3rd stay at Pearl Manila, I am a loyal customer now :) They have improved on the amenities, I had a new shower in the bathroom, improved bedding. But I do have some suggestions/complaints: 1- Check the remotes are working before guest check-in, last time too the AC remote was out of battery. 2- This was my 3rd visit, still every time they ask for passport credentials, they should start some loyalty club for frequent visitors and give extra discounts. 3- Breakfast quality has gone down only the egg part is good as is prepared as per preference, rest all is just bad! They should monitor them closely for refills, arrange tables (I had to get the spoons/napkins myself), and find a way to keep food warm. 4- If can arrange food (some)at night time too (post 12AM)… Needless to say my next visit to Manila will find me staying at Pearl Manila again, wish they had some sister hotel In Makati though.

The Staff is great! Location is Great! However the Repairs that need to be made are not. Our Shower head was just dangling on a hose! The front desk tried to get Maintenance to fix but during our 5 Day's there they never showed up. The carpet has large spots on it. The entry door had to be pulled extra hard to close & lock it! The frig is in a cabinet & the door hinges were loose and needed adjustment to keep it from making loud noise when opened you had to lift it up. The morning Breakfast was ok but . If it was not for the staff & Location I would not even consider staying there again. I have stayed there 5 times this time it really has gone down hill as far as the Maintenance, they have just let the repairs go!

The hotel service is good and room is clean. However you have to wait for lift to come up and down. For those who plan to book hotel pls stay on 10th floor, so even if lift takes long time tocome you can just stairs to wlak back n forth. Rooms are cheaper if you book weel in advance. The breakfast is really really bad. If you arrive late you do not get anything. if you bring your locval gf just make sure she has valid ID card as hotel rule implies any guest to have valid ID card esp if they stay for night. I have been to this hotel many times when I visit manila, so it is worth the trip, cost and it feels like home.

this hotel is good for the price you pay. good food and nice swimming pool.. we did not have any problems aside from the reception area at the ground floor where we need to line up, but aside from that, everything is good...

there was really no selection at all. Buffet is comrpised of bread and speads, few pieces of cold chilcken and coffee. Worst buffet i ever had. They also advertise they have 24 hour room service, but really only up to 11pm.

Well---we thought this place would be a little more "comfy" than it was---hotel could definitely use some upgrades. Air conditioning could be a little better for our room. Buffet breakfast was ok---nothing to brag about. It is just an ok place. Staff, however, were all very friendly. Would probably stay at a little bit better place next time.

for the price it was good but only if the elevators are working. they weren't 2 out of 6 days. forced to use stairs from 11th floor

The hotel is good and have good service, but i didn't like Surrounding neighbourhood at the evenings

No zombies or pirates here. I had a wonderful stay. The room is very clean and well worth what I payed for. I would definitely use this hotel again on my future travels back home. I only wish they have a shuttle service like Kabayan. That would be a big plus. Food was excellent.

check in was quick & efficient (had my name all ready for reference). had to wait a couple of minutes in front of room as the key card wasn't activated. had a safe in the room which was useful (as i left all my belongings & most of the cash before venturing out into the streets of manila). room was very nice & clean, air conditioning works too well to my liking! bathroom was compact, only thing missing (like many hotels in asian) is the water spray (very common in thailand). will come back for sure!
