Very good service. Convenient to trains and town center. Clean rooms. Small bathrooms.

It is OK and suggest to have the room not to face the main street. It is quiet.

Wonderful hotel. Very good location. Breakfast was better than we even could believe. And the staff was great. There was one rainy day and then guests could borrow umbrellas from the hotel reception, so it was very good service too.

This hotel is just of the grid from the main Strase in Munich; the hotel is old and was being worked on on the floor where our room was. The rooms are clean but old; tv's are still the old kind and they have wireless but you pay extra for it. not much to see in the lobby; its just a good place to sleep.

Excellant location, over the road from the bus and train station. Also the tube stop is two minutes walk. We were orginally located at the front of the hotel. This was a noisy room due to traffic outside. We mentioned this at reception and were immediately given a room at the back of the hotel. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. We took a trip to Saltzburg. We bought a Beyern ticket online prior to going to Munich. We can thoroughly recommend doing this. (its cheaper if you travel after 9 and rtn after 6). Its a two hour train ride but well worth it. Saltzburg is a beautiful city. Just a quick note. We noticed noone crossed the road on the red man even if there wasn't a car/tram in sight. We later found out there is a 10 euro fine if you do this.

Hotel Amba is in a great location, close to all the action with places to eat and easy transportation all around. The hotel offers a garage to park in, and is easy to get to around in the back of the hotel, though the incline is quite a steep angle - not the easiest for a manual transmission to make it up slowly. The garage and lobby all connect by stairs and the lift - a small elevator just big enough for two people and their luggage, which is convenient enough. The person checking us in was helpful and very nice. The keychain itself for the room key is a big, decorative piece and looks like something you would put on your wall. You are supposed to turn it in when you leave, and pick it up when you return to the hotel, which we did and was simple enough. The room appears small at first when compared with typical large American hotel rooms, but my wife and I found it easy to get used to within a few minutes. The bathroom was very modern and offered a towel warmer, hot and strong water pressure for the shower, with plenty of lighting and enough space to move about comfortably. The small TV in the corner of the room reminds you of how unimportant it is, compared with all the action going on outside, though you wouldn't know it, as the walls do a good job of keeping the room quiet all the time. The bed is extremely comfortable, so much so that as a traveler fresh off the plane, the first time I hit the soft mattress pad and pulled the blanket up, I was out for 6 hours straight with my wife also enjoying jet lag recovery with the help of a few extra pillows the hotel gave to us as soon as we requested them. Overall, of course a hotel experience can vary greatly from one person to the next, but as a frequent traveler through the US and not as often in Europe, this hotel and the staff there really helped the transition between timezones and familiarity go rather smoothly. I would definitely stay here again for business or vacation.

I came into München with train from Garmisch-Partenkirchen and needed a hotel for an early flight next morning - the Amba is perfect for that, ca 100m from where the G-P train stops. The room was clean, had a good working place and warmed up niecely after I turned up the heat (it was minus 10C in München this night). My room faced the back yard, so there was no traffic noise from the street, so I slept well through the night. The breakfast was nice (fresh bakeries, many kinds of jam, meat, cheese, cereals, juices, fruit; boiled eggs etc); can't understand why people complain about it (unless you expect scrambled eggs and bacon at every breakfast). Checkout was fast, as all was prepaid thorugh hotels.com. I would definitely stay at the Amba again.

I enjoyed my stay at Hotel Amba very much. The location is perfect for taking the train (across the street) as well as the tramway. The room was clean and the bathroom seems to have been recently renovated (courtyard side). The breakfast is delicious with a lots of choices (meats, breads, juices, fruits, cheeses, eggs, etc.) and the dining room is super clean.

The hotel was so convenient for transport: 2 minutes from the station and opposite the airport bus stop. It was also within 10 minutes walking of the centre of everything in Munich. The rooms were exceptionally small as was the bathroom but spotlessly clean. The breakfast was outstanding.

This hotel is located just next to the Hauptbahnhof and was very handy for us because we travelled from the airport on the train. The hotel was clean, good breakfast, smallish and basic rooms but we hardly spent any time in them so it was fine for us. Would stay there again.

Our time at the Amba was very short - 2 days, but that was all we wanted. It met our needs. It would have been good if there was a small snack bar in the reception area - it couldn't be regarded as a lounge. Our TV didn't work - but the guy insisted on fixing it straight away and did so. Pity we couldn't get an English channel apart from CNN or BBC world. Some rather noisy guests for a time on the first night - I think they were part of a group heading off somewhere exciting the next day.

Approx 1 block from centrail train staition if you go out the correct door - left , if trains are behind you; then cross street and go left. Comfortable little room for travelers by train who just need a clean place to sleep and don't need to be pampered. Friendly staff. GREAT breakfast buffet included as well as 1/2 hr free computer usage. Down side: a bit of street noise, up or down 3 steps with luggage after elevator takes you to your floor.

Nice place. Courteous staff. I would stay there again. Just a couple of blocks from shopping and beautiful sites. Loved it!!!

The Ambay is a decent hotel but the location is excellent. It was a simple 15 minute walk to most of the attractions. I do not think you could find a better location. The room was small but clean and adequate. It was a little noisy at night with the window open. The parking garage is small but worked out fine (with self parking).

+ near by central station, good breakfast, standard rooms, - no minibar, surcharge for internet access

This hotel was in a good location, close to the railway station. We arrived in Munich at 8.30pm so was glad to walk directly there. It was a short (10 minute) walk to Marion Platz - the centre of Munich. The staff spoke English which was helpful

the room size too small and the bed was too small convieniently located which was a great plus point no wifi in the room was disappointment close to the city centre

Excellent utilization of space for compact rooms, hotel is right outside railway station so public transport is readily available, breakfast was excellent & the best part was the lady at the reception, she was helpful, always smiling, could speak fluent english & even provided the room earlier that the check in time

The staff was wonderful. The hotel was clean and well maintained, but is showing it's age. The location is great right across from the main train station (the hauptbanhof). The neighborhood was quite noisy with lots of loud people in the alley behind our room and police sirens all night. With no air conditioning the windows need to stay open on summer nights, so bring your ear plugs. Bring your own pillow if you don't prefer a down pillow, which seems to be the norm in Europe. Only a short walk to the old section of town and the old botanical gardens where we found a hidden gem in a playground for our 21/2 year old. A short walk to the Augustineer beer garden where we found great beer, food and service.

We asked for non smoking room but cigarette smoke permeated the room. It was very noisy and we could not open the window for the noise and the room was very stuffy.We could hear the conversations of other people in the rooms next to ours. Very small room. Clean bathroom and towel warmer. Lovely staff and very helpful.

The Amba Hotel is across the street from the Munich Main train station and the tram to the Nymphenburg Palace is outside of the hotel. The room was comfortable but the street noise was terrible the two nights I stayed there. The front desk staff were helpful and I enjoyed the breakfast which was served in a light and airy room with a nice variety of food and beverages.

Hotel Amba is a really solid nice hotel. I would rate it a good 3 out of 5 stars. The desk personnel were nice and fluent in many languages including English. Great access to the main train station (50 yards away) and the Marienplatz (5 minute walk through good streets). We walked to all of the sites we wanted to see in Munich except for Dachau and the English Garden which we just walked 50 yards to the train station and took a 10-15 minute train ride. Internet access is 10 euros per day but it was very fast and reliable. Great experience and will definitely stay here everytime we return to Munich. Very near many restaurants of all types of cuisine as well.

Hotel Amba was pretty typical European hotel, but location and staff are great. Good price and also has parking for 10e.

The hotel is very convienient to train station and restaurents. But the hotel has no air conditioning so the windows are left open for air and consequently all the noise from the busy street disturbs the customer. The streets remain busy because of the location and i could not sleep all the 4 nights I stayed.

Hotel Amba worked very well for us. It is about a block and half from the main entrance to the main train station. Once you learn the layout of the train station there are exits to the street level that put you even closer. My main complaint would be that the main lobby is the designated smoking area. The rooms are non-smoking so All the smoker stay in the lobby to smoke. The showers were very cramped but that is not unusual. The room size was slightly larger that the average. Bed was comfortable. The breakfast was very good and the service also very good. The area is not the greatest but I never felt unsafe. Several good restaraunts close by. Most tours leave from the main rail station so it is convenient for sightseeing. desk people were very polite and helpful and spoke English well. Price, service and location were all that we expected.

This hotel exceeded our expectations concerning the location and also what it offered for the price. The room was nice and quiet, nicely furnished and had a small, but updated bathroom. The big breakfast buffet offered something for every palate.

This hotel was conveniently located directly across the street from the main train station in Munich. Normally, as a woman traveling alone, I think of hotels near main train stations as being generally unsafe. This is not the case with Hotel Amba. It was close to many restaurants and bars. It was approximately a 15-20 minute walk to Marienplatz--which is fine because there are shops etc to keep you occupied while you walk. I did not take the U or S bahn at all. The rooms were small. I had the comfort room with a full size bed. It was minimalist in terms of amenities, but clean and sufficient. I spent little time in the hotel room, so I don't need all the bells and whistles. The bed was comfy. The bathroom was small, but clean and modern. The elevator is slow. The breakfast was good and a nice spread to start your day. If I got to Munich again, I would definitely stay at Hotel Amba. Again, not a fancy place, but it was convenient and run-well.

We stayed three nights at this hotel and were very pleased with the room and service. The breakfast buffet is very good. Great location for rail connections.

My girlfriend and I recently spent a weekend in Munich and stayed at Hotel Amba. The location is perfect, right next to the central train station and within easy walking distance of the major sites. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was not large but certainly big enough, and the bed and blankets were very comfortable. The bathroom was also nice. This hotel is a three-star hotel and rightfully so; it is not fancy or extravagant but it is certainly clean and comfortable. The breakfast was really great, with a selection of meats and cheeses, yogurt, granola, and breads. The coffee was decent but there was a machine that produced really good espressos, cappuccinos, etc. My only complaint was that our room was a little noisy, I think due to a hostel across the street, but it wasn't enough to keep us from getting a good night's sleep.

Enjoyed my stay at the Hotel Amba. Its great for Oktoberfest and Munich train station so everything is close at hand. The only downside was that it was very noisy outside, probably especially during Oktoberfest, and you needed your window open as their is no air conditioning.

Good value for the money.Great location for getting around the city.

中央駅に面していて、アクセスは抜群です。ホテルまで暗いところや路地を通らずにいけるので、女性でも安心でしょう。シングルルームは狭いですが清潔で機能的で、不満はありませんでした。ただ、冷蔵庫と金庫はありません。水周りも新しく清潔でした。ホテル全体に暖色系でデザインされておしゃれな感じです。 朝食はハム・チーズの種類が豊富でおいしかった。なぜかシャンパンも用意されてます。 ホテル周辺に食べるところはたくさんあり、日曜日でも食事にはこまりません。駅の南地域に比べれば、ホテル周辺は比較的安全な地域に見えました。実際、夜に女性が一人であるいてるのを見ました。 Uバーン、Sバーン、トラム、リムジンバスを利用するには非常に便利な場所です。また、歩きなれた人ならマリエンプラッツ、３つのピナコテーク、古代彫刻博物館などにあるいていけます。 スタッフはみなさん笑顔で親切に対応してくれました。午前11時ころについたのですが、問題なく部屋にいれてくれました。荷物はあずかってもらえますが、預かり証の類いはありません。 無線LANは有料で、24時間と1時間の二種類。価格はヨーロッパホテルとしては標準的とおもいます。速度は快適でした。

Очень вежливый и внимательный персонал. Маленький номер, двуспальная кровать удобна для одного человека, двоим тесновато.

中央駅から近くてとても便利でした。時間前でも問題なくチェックインさせてくれました。朝食は思ったより普通だったかな（美味しいという評価があったので期待しすぎただけかも）。部屋も広く、バスタブがあったのが良かったです＾＾部屋の番号を忘れてしまったり、お湯を貰ったりしましたがいつでも気持ちよく対応してもらえました♪
