They did not have my room ready when I arrived, and they could not tell me when the room would be ready. Hours later i asked again; she gave me a room with rusty hot water and a broken sliding door with a sticker on it reminding me to lock it. They managed to "fix" the door and she said she would fix the hot water, of course she could not, but I did not want to continue to argue with her, so I went back to my room and took a rusty shower; hope I don't get tetanus! She did not attempt to offer me anything in compensation. The grounds and the views are beautiful. I'm sure the other rooms are in better shape. Beware of room 222

The hotel is in a beautiful, private location, with a nice breakfast & beautiful view of the beach. However, the only good service came from the Tuk Tuk driver - which others have complained about. Ordered room service the first night as we were tired: it took several calls to get them to respond. The menu selections & food itself was mediocre at best. A waitress took a drink order from me at the pool for a beer, and never returned - which is odd. Also, the wi-fi never worked. The rooms themselves could use a bit of sprucing up, but the bed was very comfortable. So, if you want a nice private setting away from the sleaze of Eilat, I highly recommend this hotel, but don't expect much in terms of service from the staff.

This is a 3 star hotel which needs refurbishment. There are building works on site. Birds are allowed to fly in and out of the breakfast buffet area over the food area. Ethopian staff battle to keep control of the mess made by customers in the pool area. But the reception staff were helpful - which we found not to be the case in the case in other hotels in Israel. If you want stunning sunsets then you need to be on the eastern side of the Red Sea in Jordan.

eilat is FABULOUS. this hotel hit the spot for us. it was cheap and convenient. it's located outside the city center, so quiet but a little far from the attractions. the food is awful and the bar closes at 11pm.

We had a great experience at the Orchid Resort, January 2011. The place was relatively empty and quiet, which was exactly what we wanted for a mid-week getaway. We used the bus to get into the city of Eilat at night, and called the front desk of the hotel to make sure we could get back. They were wrong about the last departing bus (it was 7:30 and they told us 8:00) so we ended up taking a cab. The English of the staff isn't very good. Even if they speak, they don't always understand exactly what you are asking....and like many Israelis in the service industry, they are rude. (they talk over you, or are insistent about their information) But the room was great, the pool was nice, the hot tub was nice (not hot enough) and the breakfast was outstanding. The lobby is great and the atmosphere of the place is very conducive to a relaxing vacation. Computers in the lobby, right across from the bar, very relaxing lobby with comfy couches and tables. We ordered a pizza and bought a bottle of wine and ate on the pool terrace one night...so much fun. The hotel has a very nice buffet dinner, too, and we were expecting them to be nasty about us eating non-hotel food, but nobody said a word. It is a great place, with a real vacation atmosphere. Beautiful view from our balcony, too. We are coming back. At the end of our stay, we were given a voucher for 3 nights at a good price for our next stay. Very smart.

This hotel is listed as a four star facility but does not achieve this standard by any stretch of the imagination. Our room was is need of refurbishment and the curtains were torn. The most dissapointing thing was the staff who did not seem to take a genuine in our stay.

The Orchid Eilat is a very unique hotel. Our room was near the upper part of the property and required the use of staff driven tuk-tuks (golf carts) to get to and from the main area of the hotel. We never had to wait more than a couple of minutes to be driven from our room. The longest we waited to go up to the room was about 5 minutes, but, most of the time it was very quick. The lobby and pool area was beautiful and modern. There was always plenty of places to sit. There were even a few large mattresses around the pool for lounging. From the pool area, there are great views of the Red Sea, just across the street. The Orchid is south of the main town of Eilat. It was perfect because we didn't want to be in the city. If you don't have a car and want to explore more, maybe you wouldn't want to be so far from the city. Even though we did have a car, we only used it once to drive into town. We were so spoiled by the hotel and beach, that we left the city within a 1/2 hour to get back. Directly across from the hotel is the aquarium. It is a nice aquarium with an underwater viewing area of the Red Sea. It also has a submarine tour that takes you along the reef for about 20 minutes. Our favorite part of our experience here was the beach. The Orchid uses Migdal Or Beach (about a 1/4 mile walk). For hotel guests, access to the beach and snorkel equipment is free (Don't forget to bring something of collateral for your snorkel equipment...id or credit card). You'll want to bring money or credit card to enjoy the beach side food and beverage services. Their food was outstanding...so much so that we picked one day to stay all day and had lunch and dinner there. There are alcohol and non-alcohol drinks as well. The beach is equipped with umbrellas, chairs and tables (no cost...lounge chairs extra). For those of you that have never been to Eilat, I suggest bringing some sort of water shoe or strap sandal. You'll want them for getting in and out of the water over the rocky terrain

A lovely quiet hotel, a distance from the center but the free city bus service from the hotel to the Center and back required us to pack-in the day with activity and catch the last bus at 7:30 p.m. before calling it a day. Returning to the hotel at 7:30 p.m. enabled us to swim/jacuzzi until 9:00 p.m.and then relaxing at the pool with cocktails and watching the sunset was beautiful and breathtaking. Since the hotel is removed from the Center strip it is quiet and relaxing. The hotel decor is Thai and with the Tuk Tuk service and the palm trees in the landscape you forget where you are - every room has a terrace with a splendid view . The 24 hour Tuk Tuk service is quick and efficient - a ride enjoyed by all. The hotel offers an incredible breakfast buffet to write home about. The hotel is across the street from the zoo and a short distance from scuba diving with the dolphins - a remarkable experience. We went to the Center to parasail and took a pedicure in a fish pool - the latest method promoted by the Japanese. It took a lot of courage to dip our feet into the fish pool but once you overcome the apprehension you find that the fish do a remarkable job. Our visit was on June 10. It was hot and continuously bought drinks to keep us cool. Drinking was absolutley necessary. We had a lovely time and would highly recommend the Orchid Hotel. It' was a memorable experience.

Our reservations were waiting for us and the staff was friendly and helpful. The individual bungalos, cabins, cabannas, were very nice and charming and the view was great. The location is a little far from the main town center, so you should have a car. I have to complain about the number of children, and infants, that made the stay very uncomfortable, when trying to eat and we never were able to go swimming, due to the one pool being crowed with families and the other pool, not available at all. I liked the room, the facilty, the view, the theme of the hotel, the staff, the price was OK, but for the money, a place for adults only, should have been recommended or made available.

Everything about this hotel is excellent. Close proximity to the best areas for snorkelling. Free bus service to city center and free access to a nice beach. The hotel itself is beautiful and well maintained.We would stay here again.

Gracious and understanding, the hostess' at the Lobby desk were extremely patient as I spoke no Hebrew. They showed us the way to the Underwater Observatory (tough to miss as it is right across the avenue) and directed us to the local spots. Very pleased with the people at Orchid.

Prima hotel, rustig gelegen, dichtbij Camelranch, Dolphins reef, Underwater observatory. Buiten drukke centrum Eilat. Zeer geschikt voor families met kinderen. Wel wat duur. Schone kamers, goede tuctuc service. Gratis bellen naar vaste nummers in buitenland. Zeer goed ontbijt, Goede bedden. Wifi in hotelkamer was van slechte kwaliteit. Voor de rest superhotel en een van de betere stekken in Eilat.

Trevligt mottagande, trevliga ministugor där man fick vara ifred. Fint poolområde. Men. Att få en tonfiskmacka tar ca en timme trots att man är enda gästen i serveringen. Vi testade tre gånger! Frukostbuffén var trevlig, det tyckte även duvorna som åt från den. Härliga lakan men personalen hade uppenbara problem att tycka om varandra. Och därmed le mot gästerna. Vi blev väckta varje morgon för att de ville städa innan vi gått upp. Ändå prisvärt tycker vi. Och vi hade en härlig semester.

Le service était simplement inexistant et les serveurs totalement désinvoltes. La chambre était quant à elle tout a fait satisfaisante.

constuction originale ,proche d une plage ou l'on peut voir poissons et coraux,loin de la foule. excellent petit dejeuner que l'on peut prendre sur la terrasse,jolie piscine. Centre de massage tres agreable! Bref tout bon;j'adore cet hotel ou nous allonstous les ans!

Hotel club symathique.

Super lækkert hotel et lille stykke uden for Eilat hvilket er perfekt fordi man slipper for det turist helvede Eilat ofte er. Skønt hotel med dejlige værelser og smuk udsigt. En helt igennem perfekt oplevelse

Hotel original, mais la situation loin du centre oblige a prendre à chaque sortie à prendre le taxi. C'est un hotel familiale, je le déconseille à jeune couple ou aux personnes voulant du repos.

Très bel hotel, accueil un peu froid, belle piscine, chambres très propres et très bien équipées
