Fantastic hotel, even supplied free afternoon teas every day. Staff were excellent .

We stayed at the Niles Hotel for a day before departing on a cruise. The location was convenient and the hotel staff was excellent. One of the highlights that we enjoyed was the rooftop dining area and bar. Again, they aim to please with service. In the morning was a breakfast to die for with a variety of items...mmmm. A short walk up a cobble stone lane and we were next to the Grand Bazaar. Really enjoyed the whole experience.

Hotel was lovely, located a short walk down a fairly steep hill from the Grand Bazaar. Only 5 minutes from the tram stop. The staff were all so friendly. We were greeted by apple tea and Turkish dellight. The breakfast was nice and served on the roof top patio which was wonderful. The afternoon tea was a nice touch. Rooms were nice and comfortable and wifi throughout. Would stay again with no questions asked

The hotel was centrally situated 5 minutes from all the main attractions. The staff were really helpful and made you feel very welcome nothing was too much trouble. The hotel was very clean, the room had all the amenities your require including a kettle and an excellent shower.

We were very impressed with the Hotel Niles from the welcome tea upon our arrival to the staff and charm of the lobby. The hotel is on a charming cobble stone street in walking distance to all of the major tourist attractions. The shower was amazing with a rain shower head from the ceiling as well as a hand held nozzle. The breakfast area on the roof doubles as a bar at night and many guests (including us) went up for a late night drink to cap off the evening. Highly recommended.

Absolutely wonderful. The staff make this hotel. They are genuinely warm and hospitable. The best I have ever encountered. My room and the entire hotel was immaculate. Staff are constantly cleaning. Location is fantastic. Five minute walk to the Grand Bazaar and ten minutes to Sultanahmet. The breakfast on the rooftop was great. I give this hotel my unconditional recommendation. Kemal and Yilmaz are standouts among the staff.

I stayed for a week with my girlfriend. Excellent friendly service; rooftop cafe is beautiful with wonderful views, good breakfast, the room (I think it was called a junior suite) was spacious & well furnished, but extremely warm, maybe too warm, you'll have to crack a window at night. The bathroom is amazing: all heated marble with a regular shower and a turkish hamam next to it. No views from the room at all, windows look right into other buildings, so if you're looking for a view from the room, this might not be for you. Not sure if it's the same with all the rooms. The only other issue is the lack of privacy when you have to use the bathroom. If anyone else is in the bedroom, it will feel as if you are both in the bathroom together! No sound proofing. Otherwise, highly recommended.

Hotel Niles was a wonderful experience. The staff were knowledgable and incredibly helpful and accommodated us at all times. The breakfast was delicious and readily available - the rooftop terrace provides a spectacular view. The gym, common areas and lobby are beautiful and open spaces. The hotel is centrally located and one can get anywhere by foot or train easily.

The Hotel Niles is a nice reasonably priced hotel in a very central location in Istanbul. The staff was friendly and helpful and the rooftop breakfast nook was delightful with lovely views of the Sea of Marmara. The main complaint I had was that I was visiting in the off season and the hotel was perfoming renovations that lead to a noisy day time experience. To be fair, the renovations stopped by 5PM and are likely to be completed by the time high season starts, but I would call ahead if noise level is a concern to see if renovations are still in progress.

I stayed at Niles Hotel just for a weekend, as a quick getaway while I was working in Denmark. Overall the staff was very nice and hotel was well kept. It's not as modern as other hotels, and the walk down the hill from the rail line will catch you off guard the first time around, but other than that it's a very quaint, very comfortable hotel. I was not blown away by the hotel, and therefore would probably look elsewhere if I go back to Istanbul.

I was in the junior suite which was kept immaculate. This entire staff always went above and beyond. Only an easy 15 minute walk to most of the major sites and 24 hour terrace was just aces. No view from your room to speak of but everything else definitely lived up to all the positive reviews. Highly reccommended. Nicest group of people I have ever met at a hotel.

We had a wonderful time in the hotel, all the staff was gracious and kind. It is approximately three blocks from the F1 Tram Stop that will take you to all the sites. Or you can walk, it will take about 15 minutes. The buffet breakfast was filling and the balcony had wonderful views.

Enthusiastic staff, decent breakfast and nice views over sea of marmaris (not the bosphorous) from the rooftop. Room was small but clean and comfortable. Location, 10 minutes from Aya Sofia, accross the main road from grand bazaar. There are not many restaurants in the immediate area, recomendations always advised as quality of food is not always food in Sultanhamet. This is a good 'value' hotel (so don't pay too much).

Very attentive and knowledgeable hotel staff

Another couple and my husband and I stayed at Hotel Niles from 9-12 November. The interior of the hotel is very charming and very "istanbul", not tacky and "90's" modern like many other hotel front desk areas. We loved the breakfast room on the roof and the lounging areas downstairs where we enjoyed complimentary Turkish coffees, apple teas, and turkish delight whenever we returned from our journeys. Free water, fruit and simit was available as well for snacking. The staff is outstanding. Service is impeccable. The rooms are small but, they were very clean and maid service was fantastic. The breakfast was delicious and filling- eggs, homemade breads, jams, yogurt, fresh fruit, coffee, cheeses, etc. Looking out over the Bosphorous every morning was amazing. We will stay here again if we return to Istanbul.

It is not a five star hotel, but excellent service and ideally located in the old city. I would certainly stay there again if we ever return to beautiful Istanbul. They Turkish people are lovely.

The Niles Hotel was a haven in Istanbul. The level of personal attention from all staff was very good. Although the room was small, all amenities and linens were excellent. Drinks at dusk and breakfast in the rooftop garden were a highlight. The hotel is easily accessed from the tramlines in Beyazit, down cobblestones lane ways. It is well worth the effort.

The staff at Hotel Niles are excellent. They provide helpful orientations to the sights, help you organise local travel cards, provide excellent service in the rooftop terrace and put on a tasty and filling breakfast.. The location near the Grand bazaar and tram stop is very convenient for getting to all the major sights. The airport pickup and drop off service was also greatly appreciated.

Very good! The staff was very friendly and accomadating. They made me feel very comfortable. I especially enjoyed the breakfast on rooftop with a lovely view of the water.I would recommend this hotel to most people, except for those who are looking for upscale services

From the moment we walked into the lobby we felt welcomed and knew we had made the right choice! The rooftop terrace was our favorite spot.

Absolutely one of the best hotel experiences we have had. Location impeccable and puts you right near all the big sights, but nestled on a quieter street. Service was perfect balance of helpful and friendly without being overbearing. The highlight was the rooftop terrace open 24 hours with service. We spent two nights getting takeout and ordering beer from the hotel whole enjoying one of the best views in the city right upstairs from our room. Would recommend to anyone visiting Istanbul.

This hotel was in a great location, right next to the grand bazaar and the tram which takes you wherever you need to go. The condition of the hotel was poor, I would have to say, but it worked for us as we focus more on the location than the room. They need to upgrade the hotel. If you are looking for a room that is spacious and comfortable, don't stay here, but if you are looking for a hotel in a great location, as you won't be in the hotel much, then this is the place to be.

The six of us all enjoyed our stay at Niles very much! The staff were extremely helpful, besides helping us with orientations in the city(which can be really confusing!), they even helped us making reservations at restaurants and planning trips! I caught a bad cold during my last day in Istanbul, but the medicine and hot tea they gave me made me feel so much better! The rooftop bar/restaurant is also very cute. We had quite a few complimentary Turkish coffee and amazing apple tea, thanks to the super friendly staff. The rooms are really clean and very well kept. The hotel is less than 5mins to the tram station and about 15mins to all the sights. I never write any reviews for anything, but our stay was ao pleasant that I felt the urge to comment! If you want to stay in the old city, hotel Niles is the one!

Staff was so very very friendly - really amazing. The small rooms aren't great but the suites are spectacular at a great price.

From the first moment when we arrived we were welcomed with apple tea and given a place to sit and rest. The staff went out of their way often to be of help to us and they gave good leads for neighborhood travel and experience. We were given a special young man to help us with airport connections and other needs. He was wonderful.

The staff were great. They helped with changing my flight bookings, long distance calls to England websites to change other bookings. They have a great terrace deck for breakfast with eggs, fruit etc. Rooms and bed were comfortable but don't expect luxury. Air condition was great, soundproof windows made for quiet sleeps. The best quality of the hotel was the staff in all cases.

I really enjoyed my stay! The staff is awesome, friendly, and always ready to help you get around. The hotel has great charm in it's decor and a very lovely indoor garden cafe. My room was small but quaint and comfortable. I will definitely return.

The staff went out of their way to be helpful. It is an exceedingly quiet street despite the many shops. The room used for eating on the roof had spectacular views of ships.

I spent three nights in Niles Hotel in June 2012. The location of the hotel is great. It is 3 minutes walk to the Tram that takes you almost everywhere. The staff is one of the biggest assest of this hotel. Breakfast on the roof-top was great. This hotel has a nice small gym. Unfortunately, I did not learn about it until the last day.

My wife and i recently stayed her for 5 days and we couldn't be happier. Our room was small, but comfortable - just what we wanted, since we spent little time in the room. The staff went out of their way to make us feel at home, and the fact that we only spoke Englsh was no problem. The breakfast is served in an enclosed porch on the roof, which gives you beautiful vistas as you have your breakfast. The foold was extremely fresh and had something for everyone. I loved the freshly baked cakes they served and even got the recipe from the chef. In addition, I my wife and I felt very safe when walking the streets, day or night. One very nice feature, is that they have arrangements with some of the restaurants for FREE taxi service, to and from the restaurant. We used this twice, and the food at both restaurants was excellent. Finally, the location is very close to the tourist areas, so you can easily walk to them or the tram. We would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it. Tom & June

Loved the hotel, staff was very nice and helpful. Hotel room was on the small side but we were in Istanbul to sight see so we didn't spend much time in the room. I must point out that there are actually 3 different room types at the Nile. I wish I would have understood that prior to booking because i would have selected the next room up. Our room had a very tiny bathroom and a tiny bed. The roof top terrace was amazing. Breakfast every morning and we enjoyed drinks on the roof overlooking the water. Great location, very easy to get around and get to the metro. My only complaint (and perhaps its just boutique hotels) is that when we went to check out and wanted a cab to take us to another location, we were told that the location we were going to wasn't far away and we could take the metro. Had to lug two suitcases plus backpacks (two people) each onto the metro for a stop 14 stops away.

The hotel is located in Sultanahmed, close to one of the Universities. On foot you can easily reach the Grand Basar, the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia and the Topkapi Palace. A Tram is very close by which connects you to most attractions. The small streets away from the centre surrounding the hotel are OK in daylight, but do not feel all to well at night.The hote staff is extrtemely helpful and friendly. This makes up for everything else. They really make you feel wellcome and almost home.The rooftop terrace is open 24 hours and has a great view. As the rooms are small (at least the standard ones) this is the place to relax. All in all I can recommend the Niles Hotel.

We loved this hotel from the moment we walked in to the sad day we had to say good bye. You should not pass on this sweet and charming hotel nestled behind the Grand Bazaar. Enjoy the abundant breakfast and incredible service. The rooms in the older section aren't drop dead gorgeous but the price is right. And you don't even need to stay inside - you're in Istanbul!!!

We were being taken advantage of by a taxi driver .Kemal came to our rescue. He spoke with the driver and told us the correct amount to give him. 20 euro less than the driver wanted. We were very upset when we got there ready to find the first plane back to united states. He sat us down offered us tea and breakfast. Everyone in the hotel made us feel so welcome.. We had just left a cruise ship of 24 days and this hotel was exactly what we needed. They arranged everything else we needed for our trip, guide, shuttle to restaurants. Wonderful people in a wonderful hotel. Kemal and associates saved our trip.

The location is very good, just 200mts from Beyasit tramway station, 5min from Grand Bazaar and 10min from BlueMosque/HagaSophia. Couple of convenience stores only at 200mts and restaurants within 5min walk (even a Burger King, in case you are a lousy native of the US that cannot adapt to loacl habits and survives only with nothing but your crappy regular habits). It's worth mentioning the staff, always in a great mood to answer your questions, give advice, etc. The reception has a computer with web access also very useful. They sent me a huge cab to pick up at airport for euro25 and euro 20 to get back (almost same price as a regular street cab). The restaurant/breakfast room is quite small but nice, pretty well served. Our room was quite small, and that's the only minus of the hotel I can mentioned. I truly recommend it.

We stayed at the Niles for a romantic long weekend and really enjoyed our stay there. The rooms were very clean, breakfast was good, and the location was excellent. It is about a 10 minute walk to all the main sights. Surely, there are hotels closer to the main sights but these are a lot more tacky. In agreement with all other reviews, the hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful although they had the tendency to recommend the "touristy" option. Nonetheless, if you have a question, they will have an answer. Definitely would recommend it!!

This is basically a very nice small and friendly hotel.The basic rooms are very small and there is not much hanging space for clothes. It's in quıte a noisy area and the rooms are not very well soundproofed. Breakfast was good and served on the very pleasant rooftop terrace. However a club sandwich ordered at lunchtime took 40minutes to arrive and consisted of breakfast leftovers! In the evening they will order in reasonable Turkish food from a local restaurant The tram stop is 5 minutes walk away and gives easy access to all the sights. Taxis are not worth using because of the traffic congestion, particular to this part of Istanbul.

Good location very close to tram line and all main sights. Hotel is very clean and staff were very friendly. room was small compared to the ones shown in pictures on website and the is only a cafe not full restaurant. That said it was a great place to stay and the views from the cafe up stairs were nice. Buy Irish standards this is a very good 3 star city hotel.
