Hotel Lippert - براغ

We have stayed at this hotel many times, since our son lives in Prague.We always stay at Hotel Lippert (it used to be named Cerna Liska). We love the Old Town Square and Lippert is literally on the square. Easy walk to shops, the river, Jewish Quarter and subway. The staff is great and the breakfast just wonderful. The desk staff, Daniel, Linda and Romana are very welcoming and most helpful. Don and Fran, Cranbury, NJ

The hotel is very nice, in the heart of the old town square. Staff are very kind and helpful. Breakfast was fantasic! Highly recommend!!!

This hotel's biggest strength is its location, but you'll also have great service and a friendly staff. You are in the old town square, with about a 10 minute walk to Charles Bridge. The continental breakfast is very good, and the staff is incredibly nice. For the price and location, I cannot imagine staying anywhere else in Prague.

I picked this hotel because of its convenient location! It didn't let me down finally, the location of the hotel is heart of the Old Town~ and the view from my room is awesome! The breadfast was plenty of choice in buffet type, a slight changes when i stayed 3 nights Stable Wifi in the room. The only drawback is the light is a little bit dim in the room

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Lippert for three nights in late October, 2011. The Hotel location is ideal - incredibly convenient. The room & bathroom were large by European standards, and the beds were comfortable (although a bit creaky). The room was kept clean, but the carpets could use a good cleaning. The breakfast buffet was very good with multiple options. The Front Desk staff was friendly and helpful, and helped us with our practice of basic Czech. For a first time visit in Prague (incredible city), I would recommend this Hotel.

Location, Location, Location..... IF you are a fussy person who likes everything to be perfect, needs to have everything new and sparking, likes antiseptic-techno decor with cool blue lighting, and demands a concierge to be able to do everything for you because you have no sense of responsibility or adventure for yourself, then do not stay here. This is not a micro-managing hotel for it's guests. They do not come to your room to fluff your pillow and tell you a bedtime story before you sleep. However, IF you prefer to live IN a piece of Prague's HISTORY and have a room in what was at one time a very elegant hotel for when it was built; if you want to be in the very middle of the center of the known universe in ancient Prague; if you want a front head-on view of Our Lady of Tyn and the city palace from your bedroom window which sit a block across the city square from you in a totally unobstructed view because the city square is ALL a walking area only; if you like a very old-fashioned delicious breakfast with everything under the sun, hot foods and cold yoghurt and pastry, granola and fresh fruits served generously, buffet style with a handmade bread which will get you up in the morning just to have a taste; if you want to be near the concert hall of the Czech Philharmonic; if you like being surrounded by other concert halls; if you like being across the street from the beginning of the old Jewish quarter; if you like being a three block walk from the subway; if you like being next to a real maze of tiny city streets which will leave you whimpering for help if you don't exploration and adventure; if you like old things and have an appreciation for great value for the price, then this hotel is your best deal in ALL of Europe. I came for what was to be one night and am still in the hotel, 5 days later. I am directly across the city center from Our Lady of Tyn church and next to the clock tower. My view is astounding. This hotel features in pictures of the town square.

First class with rooms over looking the old square.It would have been enough just to sit at the window in the room and watch the world go by.

If you are going to Prague to see the sights, stay here! If for any other reason, stay elsewhere. The location for a tour of Praha could not be more perfect. Situated right in the old town square this hotel was close to everything, 3 blocks from the subway (and VERY easy to spot heading from the station), right in the square of the old catchedral, the astronomical clock and anything else listed as a 'must see'. The rooms were old and a bit dingy, but had terrific views. The breakfast that was included was plentiful. The front desk service left A LOT to be desired... whether that was due to minimal English skills, or simply not wanting to help is a bit hard to read, but the times I did ask for help I always left feeling like I wish I had not asked, or that I had just been yelled at. For the price, you can't beat the location. Just know it is a no frills, simple amenitites hotel with great views. If you know what you are getting going in, you won't be disappointed.

amazing location easy walking access to everything. Breakfast was great. If you have mobility problems this isnt the hotel for you due to there are stairs to walk up to rooms a lift is there to take you to the floors but each floor still has 3 stairs outside the lift to reach rooms.Because the hotel is right on town square there is noise at night and ear plugs should be part of your luggage other than that this is a perfect little hotel to stay in we loved it!!!

Best location in Prague. Good breakfasts. Extremely comfortable beds. Lots of info re concerts etc. V good free wifi in reception, intermitant wifi reception in upper rooms. Recommend highly.

A wee bit noisy outside at night with late-night revellers (but they generaly were on their way out of the square so were gone quickly), nice room, friendly staff, very good restaurant (potato soup was especially good), we would definitely stay there again.

I loved this hotel. The location is great and the room is very comfortable! Very recommendable!!!

My husband and I had an absolutely wonderful time staying at Hotel Lippert, in Old Town Square, Prague. Our room overlooked the Square, and the hotel amenities were just right. Although the easy access to all the sites was the major draw for choosing this hotel, my favorite aspect was how relaxing it was to have the windows open, the breeze blowing through, listening to the outside activity while I was relaxing and reading. We will definitely stay at this hotel next time we're in Prague, and recommend it to anyone.

Small hotel - just 12 rooms, but has all facilities needed and in perfect location on Old Town Square with the astrological clock just 50 metres away which is the starting point for many of the walking tours. Charles Bridge also just 5 minutes walk.

My daughter and I spent 7 days at the hotel visiting my other daughter studying abroad. Cerne Liske is right in Old Town Square next to the Astronomical Clock. It is walking distance to al you would want to see in Prague with Charles Bridge 3 blocks away. Breakfast was traditional European fare with freshly baked breads each morning with world news on the tables. Transportation was arranged from the ariport. (fee) I inadvertently left my cell phone there and within 24 hours they packaged it and sent it back to me. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

right in the heart of old town prague, room was large on the 3rd floor, lift access available but 1 person 1 suitcase at a time size.. Breakfast and internet were free and great, Linda at reception was most helpful and always smiled.. the only bad thing was the bathroom, it was a bit small given the large room and it felt like the floor was moving...

What a great Hotel! This is 5th hotel I've used in Prague, and it's definitely the best I've stayed at. Location can't be better, is right in the Staromestska Namesti, the heart of Prague, just a few steps from a lot of attractions. Three blocks away from closest metro station. Rooms were very comfortable, Breakfast had good including eggs and bacon. Nice bathroom. Not loud at all, slept with windows open, but it was low season (winter). The price was unbeatable, but again, it was low season. I will stay here again next time I go back to Prague. Highly recommended.

Comfortable, clean hotel with friendly, accommodating staff in excellent location in Prague at extremely good rates. I couldn't ask for more.

Hotel Cerna Liska was offered through Hotels.com at a great rate for the location. The hotel is right in the heat of Old Town Prague and easy walking distance to the AStronomical clock, Charles Bridge, Prague Castle, and all of the other tourist attractions. Smaller rooms, and a smaller hotel all around, but if you plan on being out of the room touring around then a fine option. When we went there was a buffett breakfast included that was very nice. Good options, good food, etc...

A great little hotel, perfect location, lovely room and staff, only complaint is the breakfast coffee which was luke-warm and bitter, best stick to the tea. Apart from that breakfast was as good as everything else.

A very friendly welcome, clean & comfortable room overlooking the Old Town Square. Anticipated evening nosie due to proximity to square - but no issue - most establishments around square closed by midnight. Great location for sightseeing. Would stay here again if returning to Prague.

This hotel is in the Old Town Square and couldn't be more convenient!

Our son lives in Prague and we visit often. We never stay anywhere but Cerna Liska, which is located literally right on Old Town Square. The location is incredible. The rooms are quaint and unique and spacious and clean. The staff is wonderful and the breakfasts magnificent. We will never go anywhere else. We are on a first name basis with the entire staff.

This was our first visit to Prague, and although uncertain where to stay, we knew we wanted to be close to Old Town Square. (A family member lived in Prague for 2 years and said the Square was a center of activity!) Keeping that in mind and after reading reviews on hotels.com, we decided to reserve the Hotel Cerna Liska. We were not disappointed! Not only was the location perfect, but the hotel is very charming, quaint, and very authentic. There are probably under 20 rooms, and each unlocks with a key, rather than a card. The air conditioned rooms are spacious, the bathroom updated and large, and the beds comfortable. A small restaurant is attached to the Hotel and breakfast is complementary with an overnight stay. A wide variety of food was offered at breakfast and it was excellent! The restaurant also has a patio area with tables, chairs, and umbrellas to provide shade from the sun. We would return to the hotel in the evening and enjoy ice cream or a drink to close out the day (both available at the restaurant). It was fun to watch all the activity on the Square - and there was much to see! The Hotel is also less than 50 yards from the Clock Tower and every hour on the hour the trumpeter would play a short tune from the top of the Tower. This is one of the main sites to see in Prague, evident by the hundreds of people that view this tradition throughout the day! The only sidebar I would add about the hotel is that the Square can be a bit noisy when you're trying to sleep - if the windows are open. Although the fresh air was nice, we could close out the noise by shutting the window and turning on the air conditioner! We traveled to Prague with another couple and all four of us rate the Hotel Cerna Liska "five stars". We would definitely stay here again!

We loved staying here. Our room overlooked the Old Town Square. We could sit in our room and enjoy the view. The location is excellent - can walk to all the sights from here, with market stalls, cafes, and tourist office right there. The included breakfast is great - omelettes with bacon or sausage and cold meats, bread, croissants, fruit, cereal etc. Beds and pillows are comfortable. Don't miss the free walking tour from the tourist office - great way to catch up on historical information

Great location, attentive, helpful staff, delicious breakfast buffet. Ample hanging and drawer space for clothing. We would choose to stay at this hotel again. A location convenient to everything.

I highly recommend this hotel. Wireless internet worked well, breakfasts were outstanding, hotel staff was pleasant!

The hotel was a great value for the price. It was right on the Old Town Square and very convenient for seeing all of the sights. An extra benefit was that it was the only hotel during our stay with air conditioning, at least for our fourth floor room. The room itself didn't have much for windows to look out, but was large and comfortable. The breakfast included was very good.

You can't get a better location - on the square, but set back so there wasn't much noise at night. The reception could be a little more friendly,but it wasn't anything you couldn't deal with. The rooms are interesting and large, and the bathrooms very clean. Free internet access was wonderful to have, and the breakfast room was convenient.

The Cerna Liska was a wonderful hotel experience. From the amazing location to the quality buffet breakfast we could not have asked for more. The front desk hostesses were on site 24/7 and were friendly and helpful. Our room on the 2nd floor was large and comfortable with a great view of the church. We were there in September 2009 and were able to keep the windows open without being effected by the street noise although my guess is that light sleepers would need to close the windows and/or need a room on the 3rd floor. I would definitely stay at this hotel again and would recommend it to everyone.

Great location with helpful staff. If you are looking for a quiet nights sleep, this is not the hotel for you. It's location is just off the main square in old town Prague. During the high season and late into September you will find it a little noisy with the traffic and party goers. If you want to be close to everything this is the place for you. New town is just a short walk away. Plenty of eating establishments that cater to visitors close by. The Palace is about a 20 minute walk away and up hill. Bring a good pair of walking shoes if you plan to see the sights. Horse drawn carriages and vehicle tours can be purchased on the square.

The hotel is situated in the quietest corner of the Old Town Square from which every exit leads to a different area of old Prague . The rooms are spacious , comfortable , clean and quiet . The breakfast provided cooked food and cold meats etc plus fruit and cereals and as much coffee as you needed . We would certainly recommend the Cerna Liska .

This hotel is small, cozy, clean with comfortable beds in a terrific location right on Old Town Square. At the hotel's outdoor restaurant, you can drink your morning coffee while admiring life stirring on the square in the shadow of church spires that have "Fantasy Land" written all over them. Free wi-fi and breakfast were also included. And each room has its own air conditioner with adjustable controls. Rooms are large with a safe, well stocked mini bar and in-room coffee maker. We couldn't have been more pleased.

Very small hotel in the best possible location in all of Prague. It wouldn't even cross my mind to stay anywhere else if I went back. Keep in mind, everything that's going on in the square you can hear...so it's definitely not a quiet location, but I slept fine. Perfect if you like to be in the mix of things. It was right at the meeting place for all my tours.

We recently spent 3 nights at the Cerna Liska for a family vacation (we had 3 of the rooms). We booked a shuttle through the hotel to pick us up from the train station as we were arriving at 7AM from Krakow. I confirmed the shuttle twice before we left. However, no shuttle was there when we arrived. I called the hotel and they assured me a shuttle would be there in 30 minutes. It eventually took 2 hours and numerous phone calls before they finally sent a vehicle to pick us up. The driver told us he had been sent only 5 minutes before he arrived and that the hotel goofed up. Be aware that the shuttle service is very unreliable. Having said that, the hotel location is one of the best in Prague, right in the Old Town Square. The rooms are spacious, but have poor A/C. It was warm during our visit in July, 2009 and as a result, nobody slept very well. The breakfast (included with the room) was excellent. One of the rooms did have a problem with getting hot water in the shower (which was never fixed).

Superb location and a great price!

The hotel was small but had huge rooms. It is located right on the Old Town Sq. nxt to the astronomical clock. You can walk everywhere from there and there are 2 subway stops (Staromestska and Mustek) a few blocks away for transport to the airport. The included breaksfast was one of the best I had on my trip and it was served in a sunny room with views of the Sq. The only problem I had was with the wifi connection, which is perfect in the ground and 1st floor but not available on higher floors (I was on 2). I don’t know about peak season but off season the price for the room was great.
