Hotel Athena - ليون

The mattress is half broken , one side is totally no support and we request to change the room the other day. Unlucky that the side of the room facing is very closed to the train station. We kept awake because of the noise... well..it's the tradeoff for convenient. Overall, the hotel is clean and is of good value.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel during a recent vacation to Lyon. It's main attraction is the price and location. It is very reasonable, and right next to Gare Part-Dieu (and the TCL metro line B). However, there were a few issues: the internet was sporadic and slow (and was never fully operational during our stay); and while there is a thermostat in the room, do not expect to have control over the temperature during the fall. It was not cold enough for them to turn on the main furnace. Overall, I would recommend this hotel for a quick trip (due to its location and price). However, if you are staying longer in Lyon than a few days, it may not be as worthwhile.

Nice hotel in good location for arriving by train. Hotel is in area with Metro & Trams which are perfect for navigating around all of Lyon. We saw all of the city that we wanted in 3 days including Stade de Gerland for a match. Lyon is a bit of a hidden gem and we enjoyed the city. Our only gripe with Hotel Athena was the service from the staff. Each day we needed to get our key re-validated for the room (with no explanation or apology), on our first night they gave our room to another guest who attempted to enter the room at Midnight & when we asked for a night cap drink when we returned one night were advised the bar was closed at 8 as if we were some idiots... All in all I would recommend this hotel if you are not fussed about the service and the city was great fun.

Only stay here if nearness to the train station is the top priority. The bed was much like a stack of moldy cardboard and the neighborhood is a little creepy.

The staff was friendly, helpful and spoke english. The room was adequate and comfortable. Breakfast was consistent with a variety of options. The location is extremely convenient since it is directly on the square on the west entrance of the Part-Dieu train station.

good location and room is clean. Shower in the room is great! However, the reception area are too hot and without air-conditioning during the summer. Breakfast in the hotel are fine.

Despite being in the processes of renovation, we found the hotel to be clean and comfortable. The buffet breakfast was good. The rooms were of a reasonable size for a French hotel of this standard. The main reason for selecting this hotel was for an overnight stopover, travelling by train from Paris to the south east of France. It was extremely convenient, being less than 100m from Lyon’s Gare Part Dieu main entrance, across a traffic free square- no hassles regarding taxis. Entry to reception, which was on the first floor, was by lift from the ground floor, and wasn’t too much of a problem. As a one night stop over to change trains, thoroughly recommended.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. It was the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. The women who worked the front desk was rude and not helpful. The room, and the bathroom were filthy! We were so shocked a hotel could be so dirty.They do not have beds, they are like cots and they are so uncomfortable. There was construction going on that started at 8:00am so it made it impossible to sleep with all the noise. Also,we were told their was air conditioning and there was not. Very disappointed!

The location is very good as it is just a short walk from the train station as well as the other public transportation. Hotel staff is ok and businesslike and will answer whatever questions that you might have but they are not warm. The room is pretty small and the decor looks a bit dated although it is generally quite clean. The wifi although provided free does not have very good reception in the rooms for making skype calls although it is much better at the lobby area. Overall, it is a ok hotel for the location but the next time I go, I would prefer to check out the Novotel which is just next door.

The hotel was ok rooms very basic and no shower just a bath with a shower head and no curtain so the who bathroom got very wet most of the reception staff werent very helpful and were only friendly sometimes no enough info on the city and things to do breakfast expensive and very basic but the hotel was very close to the train station only about 50 meters away

The strongest recommendation of this hotel is its location in very close proximity to the Gare Part-Dieu. Rooms are clean but fairly basic.. Facilities are limited but there are many close by.

The first thing to say about this hotel is its location; it is right next to the Lyon Part Dieu railway station (the principal one in the city)- which of course saves money on taxi fares or energy on a long walk lugging bags and ensures there's no rush if you're catching the train early the next day, as I was. This also means that it's right next to city centre travel links (buses and trams), but a relaxing walk to Place Bellcour only takes about twenty minutes. Check in at the reception/bar was speedy and simple. The room itself was immaculately clean, with a well made double bed (but which probably would have been a bit small for two people). The triple glazing was brilliant, meaning the room was completely insulated from the noise of the busy road outside. There was a TV, with France's equivalent of Freeview HD and some foreign channels including BBC World News and CNBC. There was also a desk, with chair, as well as bedside tables and lights. My favourite part of the room was the ensuite shower room, which could not have been cleaner, nor more modern. The shower itself was fantastic- it was spacious and had a built in shower head, as well as a small handheld shower head- between which you could toggle. There was also a hair and body wash dispensor, with copious amounts of soap in. The room had an air conditioning system, but the guest is not completely in control of it. My biggest annoyance was that you could not switch it off completely, only put it into standby mode, which meant that it came back on after a while. The lack of wardrobe space would probably be an issue for a guest staying longer. A member of staff helpfully provided me with a free map of the city centre, and informed me that I could receive phone calls in the room for free (the information booklet was not clear about the cost of making calls). Great central location - airport bus stops right outside. Clean and business like, no frills. Train station and main shopping centre all within 50m - perfect for a budget night.

This place is about 30 mins away from the city center and smells like a combo of fish and a rubber fire. Just nasty!

The bed was the smallest two person bed I have ever seen. It was also as hard as concrete. We got very little sleep as a result.

I did save a lot of money on the advertised rate of this hotel, but I'm still not happy with the value. The Athena is fantastic for location, as it's right next to the train station, and the bus to Lyon St. Exup airport is less than 10 meters away. However, the conditions of the room left a lot to be desired. The "double" bed for 2 people was one of the smallest beds I've ever seen. The air conditioner did not work, the towels were old, worn and had holes in them. Plus the entire room had a strange odor. The staff at the front desk were helpful, although not overly friendly. Overall, location is the best part, but if you don't need that convenience, or you're thinking of spending more than 1 night, definitely stay somewhere else.

Part-Dieu駅を出て左斜め横にあり、大変便利でした。ホテルのフロントの方も親切で、部屋も清潔で最低限のものは揃っていました。不便に感じたのは、浴室に乾燥設備がなく、シャワーの後は部屋の温度と湿度が一気に高くなるのですが、エアコンが上手く作動しなかったことでしょうか。朝食は宿泊代に含まれていませんが、チェックインの際にクーポンを渡され、チェックアウト時にTAXと一緒に清算するシステムのようです。朝食はスタンダード（3ユーロ）とブッフェ（9ユーロ）の2種類あるようですが、クーポンはブッフェの方になります。朝食をよそで取る方は、最初に断るか、チェックアウト時にクーポンを返せば支払う必要はないと思いますが、後者で対応する方がいいかと思います。周辺に感じのいいカフェがなく、中心地までは離れているので、個人的にはホテルで朝食を取れて良かったです。

J'étais déjà venue, je connaissais l'hôtel que j'apprécie toujours.

Existe dificuldade, mesmo com GPS, para chegar ao Hotel em função da mão de direção das ruas proximas. A garagem do Hotel é dividida com outros Hoteis e não existiam vagas disponíveis no local reservado para hospedes do Hotel Athena. Tivemos dificuldades com isto. O acesso ao hotel a partir da Garagem é complicado e depende de liberação da recepção do Hotel. A frente do Hotel fica direcionada para o pateo da Estação de Trem, muito embora não se perceba ruidos. O quarto é bom mas não corresponde à foto apresentada no site. Nãi usamos serviço de Café da Manhã.

Dans l'ensemble, un accueil agréable, une chambre spacieuse et propre. bien insonorisée (on entend pas les trains passer). Un hotel bien situé, proche des transports en commun, pratique si on doit reprendre le train le lendemain.

Trés bon

Attention : font payer des taxes en plus de ce qui est payé lors de la réservation. En-dehors de ça, la situation est bonne, mais c'est cher pour ce que c'est (vétuste, mauvaises odeurs, chambre petite....)

J'ai choisi cet hotel pour passer une nuit car il était trés proche de la gare. Ma chambre était propre, pas du tout bruyante et l'accueil agréable.

En transit à Lyon, je cherchais pour une nuit un hôtel proche de la gare. L'hôtel Athéna a largement rempli cette fonction : situé à deux pas, voire un seul !! de la gare Part-Dieu, il m'a proposé une chambre très propre, correctement aménagée, agréable, pas très chère. Seuls points négatifs : un accueil un peu distant, un fauteuil un peu défraîchi, une clim un peu bruyante... Rien de bien grave. Si je dois repasser par Lyon, je m'arrêterai à nouveau à l'Hôtel Athéna.

proche du centre avec tous les moyens de transport pour se déplacer y compris la gare S.N.C.F, magasins, etc..bon rapport qualité prix pendant certains week end Parking souterrain très appréciable. Un bémol cependant pour l'accueil que j'ai trouvé froid et impersonnel

Tout est suffisant pour une ou deux nuitées, ce qui correspond à mon besoin. Tarif en rapport qualité/prix satisfaisant. Dommage que je n'ai pas eu de baignoire, ça aurait été un petit plus. La chambre demande à¨^etre rafraichie question murs et peintures mais rien d'urgent. Retour dans cet hôtel à mon prochain déplacement à Lyon. Juste regrettable aussi de ne pas pouvoir récupérer la facture sur place lors du départ.

très bien dans l'ensemble. Le personnel est à l'écoute, bons renseignements (sur la ville, les transports...) J'ai trouvé l'équipe très professionnelle dans cet hôtel (femmes d'étage, réceptionniste....) Je recommande rapport qualité/PRIX

je suis restée dans cer hotel le week end et je n'ai rien entendu du tout , calme et très adaptée

c'est compliqué pour trouver et accéder a l'entrée du parking souterrain
