For a short term stay this was convenient to all sites either by foot or bus. I will warn that if you don't like noise or stairs, this is not the place for you. Our first room was located on the first floor and the road noise was so loud we could not sleep. The second night we changed rooms and were located on the 4 th floor. We had to drag all of your luggage up 8 narrow flights of stairs and rest about every 4th landing. Also, we observed gay literature on the reservation desk although it was not advertised as such. Lots of male occupants!

Bed wasn't very comfortable but everything else was perfect (and for this price you can't expect a fancy bed anyway). Went in late March and didn't need airconditioning. It's a very loud area though so you might want to get an internal unit + aircon if you want to sleep better but the balconies on the externals are pretty sweet. Didn't know they had free wifi until day 3 or so. They also have bottled water dispensers on every floor and the bathroom water gets plenty hot/cold. Excellent staff too!

The staff were amazing at this hotel. Very friendly, clean and quiet. Rooms are small, however, if you just want a nice clean place to lay your head at the end of the night, this is a great option.

The rooms were very small but clean. There are no elevators so be prepared for a long climb up to your room. We had a room facing into the courtyard and it was very nice. Good location close to restaurants.

I wonderful experience! Very friendly, helpful staff even if their english or your spanish are limited. Wi-Fi, bottled drinking water on each floor. Ceiling fan and A/C. No elevator so make sure you are able to navigate stairs with your luggage. Located in old Puerta Vallarta Romantica Zone, 4 blocks from the beach and Malecon board walk. City bus and taxi service right outside the hotel. Easy walking distance to shops and numerous restaurants. Street traffic and the occasional early morning rooster contribute to the atmosphere but remember you are staying in a city, not a secluded private beach resort. An excellent budget friendly choice for your stay in PV.

This was my 5th time to stay at the Hotel Belmar. It is always my 1st choice when I travel to Puerto Vallarta. The hotel is immaculately clean, the staff is warm and welcoming. It is very conveniently located, just minutes from all my favorite restaurants, as well as the Malecon and Vallarta's beautiful new pier. I can't say enough good things about this hotel. It is on a very busy street so if you're a light sleeper I recommend that you request a room off the main street. They are always extremely accommodating whenever possible.

Friendly staff, clean rooms, it was loud facing the street, but I'm from a major city and that doesn't bother me. Water was hot in the shower. A safe was provided in the room, and in the hotel description it says you had to pay for the safe in the room, but actually it was a deposit and I received all the money back when I returned the safe key and checked out. I would definitely stay here again, when in Puerto Vallarta.

Wonderful experience @ Hotel Belmar - the hotel was a bit noisy, especially if the crowd got rowdy late into the evening and when coming back to their hotel. Excellent location next to Malecon and a few blocks from the beach. VERY clean room, bathroom. Would recommend this hotel for those that don't mind a bit of noise and don't stay in the room much.

I was really pleasantly surprised by Hotel Belmar. Clean, cute, charming, cheap and only a few blocks from the beach and the noise of the bigger tourist districts. The staff were nice, though I barely speak Spanish and they barely speak English so communication was a little tough. The air conditioning in the rooms seemed to be broken but the fans were actually cool enough. Wifi was strong and the showers were clean. I'd definitely stay again--though not if I had a lot of luggage. The stairs up to the rooms was quite a haul but the bonus of having a balcony for such a low price made up for it!

Right in the heart of PV. Great little hotel, but try to get a room away from the street. The traffic noise will keep you up all night long.

Service and staff were great. Location is great, near beach and bus stop for south bound busses. Internal rooms are quite noisy, but staff gave me an upgrade to much better room.

If your looking for 5 stars, look elsewhere. But if you seek a clean, respectable place with character right in the heart of Puerto Vallerta's most genuine neighborhood, this is the place. Good Internet access from rooms too.

It's artsy and interesting. No elevator and downtown so you have to put up with stairs and noise but I think it's definitely worth it!

Clean rooms, friendly service, hard beds, could be about 150-200 pesos cheaper when compared to other hotels in the area.

It's a clean hotel and there is maid service everyday. It's in a good neighborhood (I've walked around late nights during my stay). Good Wi-Fi connection and plenty of cable channels on TV. I recommend it.

Clean room, great location,very nice staff,BUT...very noisey.The hotel is located on a major city bus route which made it very loud from 6 am to 12 pm.Try for an inside to room to cut the effects of the bus noise.

The hotel is spotlessly clean and cheerfully painted. Friendly staff, free internet in lobby, inexpensive. One mattress was comfortable and firm and the other was soft and wiry from springs in mattress. Ceiling fan and air-conditioner in room. The only problem was that my room overlooked the busy Avenida de Insurgentes in the old part of town which has cobblestone streets, and every truck or bus which went by shook my room and made a lot of noise. There are a lot of nice hotels in walking distance on quieter streets that are right on the beach or only a block away. I moved to another hotel on Basilio Barilla street 5 blocks away which was lovely. The neighborhood is very safe and full of good restaurants, but Avenida Insurgentes is just too noisy. The hotel manager told me that I could move to a room in the back that was much quieter, but I had already seen another hotel with a courtyard full of gardens and flowers and a pool and decided to move.

We had a family emergency an had to get off our cruise ship and stay in a hotel for the night- so we had no point of reference. I used trip advisor for reviews and this hotel seemed centrally located between our ship and airport and that's where the convience ended! First off NOBODY spoke English AT ALL! so that was hard on us when we had questions getting here as the taxi driver couldn't find it cause the hotel.com address I was given wasnt the same as the hotels physical address. The clerk seemed very annoyed we were bothering her while she read her book. There is no elevator and very narrow steep stairs to our room. The room was tiny. It had the most rock hard bed I've ever felt and really was as if we were on the floor. There's a cold bear floor, and only two thin ragged bath towels and two thin and smelly pillows and very old scratchy sheets. The bathroom is open at the roof and the door doesn't close all the way, so it's not meant or privacy. There's a wood slat window and u can see from your shower into the shower in the room across the hall. (again no privacy). There is a small tv with about 3 Spanish chanels and a hanging bar below it with a fee hooks to hang your clothes, I guess it's a version of a closet? The door only locks with a deadbolt lock, but it's a deadbolt on each side so if there'd an emergency and u need to run then u better be sure the key is on the nightsand so u can unlock quick! The neighborhood left nothing to desire! It was so loud and since you're in downtown is very busy all might long. The rooms are paper thin and ao the sound carries all night long! Cars, people yelling, people fighting, music, sirens, tv's, and everything else! You're on the corner of a super busy street and cars DO NOT STOP for you to cross so RUN FAST! if you venture to the beach then it's about a five block walk down a very narrow street that feels like an alley. Its got a very uneven holed sidewalk and people are almost attacking you to buy junk the

I'm extremely happy with my stay at this hotel and would still keep it as a 2 1/2 star hotel. The room is simple and clean. The hotel is within 5mins walk to the nearest shopping center and less than 10mins walk to the beach. If your time is spent more outdoor, I would highly recommend this cheap hotel and pick one of the interior rooms which do have their own very mini balcony and you can hardly hear the street noise.

The best I can say is that the hotel is in a great location just south of the Rio Cuale on Insurgente where most of the buses to many parts of the city and airport pass. Also close to many of the fun spots , the Zocolo , and Malacon. Easy walk to most places. The hotel itself is very basic and clean.

While the hotel itself is great for the price, we had an exterior room facing the street which was sunny and lovely in the day but insanely noisy at night. I usually sleep through anything but was kept up until 3am from the street noise (and it was a Thursday night). That said, the hotel staff was friendly, they have a very clean and charming reception, the room was nice and roomy and with all the basics, beautiful art throughout. I recommend it if you can get an interior room or don't sleep at night :)

El hotel es una construcción sencilla (con lo básico), pero decorada con buen gusto, ubicada en una de las principales calles de tránsito de la zona romántica de Puerto Vallarta, lo que genera mucho ruido, por lo que no es muy recomendable si uno quiere descansar, sobre todo en el día. En la noche, el ruido desciende considerablemente y su cercanía con los principales centros de diversión lo hace muy recomendable. La limpieza de las habitaciones, impecable, y el precio muy accesible. Consideren que no tienen alberca, sobre todo si tienen niños.

LA ATENCION DEL PERSONAL EN LA RECEPCION SIEMPRE FUE MUY AMIGABLE A EXCEPCION DE UNA PERSONA QUE NOS DETUVO AL INGRESO ARGUMENTANDO QUE ESTABAMOS PASANDO UNA PERSONA EXTRA SIN PAGAR, LO QUE DEMOSTRO LA FALTA DE INFORMACION DE NUESTRA RESERVACION.

DE LO MEJOR; MUY RECOMENDABLE.

Es la segunda vez que llego a este hotel, la gente de la recepción es muy amable. El problema fue que me dieron habitación frente a la avenida principal y desde las 6 de la mañana hay mucho ruido, por lo demás todo muy bien.

Wir verbrachten über 2 Wochen in dem tollen Hotel. Es liegt sehr zentral im Herzen von Puerto Vallarta. Das Hotel und das Personal verfügen über sehr viel Charme, sind extrem freundlich und hilfsbereit! Wir fühlten uns sehr, sehr wohl!!! Uns selten habe ich ein so gut geführtes und gepflegtes Hotel gesehen! Einziger Nachteil: leider befindet sich das Hotel an einer verkehrsreichen Strasse...aber dennoch würden wir es jederzeit wieder buchen :-)

Buen hotel general, lo unico que vi en contra es la atencion del personal a exepcion de la srta. Recepcionista cinthia la cual siempre tuvo una amable atencion.

Cuando reserve este hotel me lo imaginaba totalmente distinto, de alguna manera algo cercano a un hotel pequeño pero con mucho estilo, sin embargo, resulto ser algo mas cercano a un hotel barato, donde las instalaciones son inadecuadas. primero no tienen elevador, las habitaciones no son pequeñas , si no que son muy pequeñas, hay mucho ruido de afuera, lejos de todo, en fin ... buen precio lo admito, pero mal en muchos aspectos. el personal es muy atento aunque podria serlo mas aun. simplemente no lo recomiendo.

muy contento con el servicio y la ubicacion del hotel voy a volver el anio que entra y se los recomiendo 100% buen trato y descanso.
