This wonderful hotel was a great spot to celebrate our tenth anniversary. We really loved the room, and had a great experience in the restaurant for lunch as well. Our only complaint was the greeting we got from the valet when we pulled up to check in. After a long drive and trying to figure out what the protocol was, he was very unhelpful and seemed annoyed that we weren't sure what we were doing. Fortunately, our next interaction was with the wonderful Brian who made sure we felt at home (or, more aptly, better than at home!). Convenient to the beach and a nice middle-point to walk and explore all that South Beach has to offer. Highly recommend!

- The room was in good condition, fairly well maintained and perfectly clean. Decor corresponds to site pictures. - Very nice personel at breakfast. - Very poor view, facing a wall, "balcony" present, but without any interest since no view and very small. - Surprising check-in process where the doorman has not directed us to reception but asked for our credit card once in room.

Expensive for what you get. Plenty of good hotels in Miami meaning that there is no need to stay at the anglers

This hotel is perfect. Clean, spacious, ideal location, and great service. I would come here again and again. It is close enough to the beach and the attractions on south beach and even closer to cool local restaurants. They are detailed oriented and provide a very homey feel. I love them.

We really loved this hotel. It was a good value and the room was really beautiful. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful and I would definitely go back there.

The Anglers Hotel is indeed a charming boutique hotel, very close to the beaches and good shopping/restaurants. However, I was a bit surprised at how 'tired' the hotel was (only because it had such stellar ratings on Hotels.com). The carpet in the hallways REALLY needs to be steam-cleaned, and the halls/doors could use a fresh coat of paint. The service at breakfast was not up to par. It took forever to get the food (although the food was very good) - and simple requests like warm milk for the coffee and a change of type of cheese in the omelet - were ignored and the team didn't even realize they forgot. Again, not a BIG deal - but certainly not what one would expect of such a highly-rated hotel. Aside from these small points, the hotel was very nice. Comfortable rooms, friendly staff, tasty (if expensive) beverages at the bar (which closes EARLY by the way). I would recommend this hotel if you can find it at a good deal...but would not stay there if seeking a truly 5 star experience.

This hotel could not have been more beautiful. The staff was extraordinarily accommodating. The room was tasteful and beautifully kept. The added touches - the card (with my name on it) left on my pillow each night stating tomorrow's weather, the chocolate truffles on our pillows, etc. - just took it over the top. I could not recommend a hotel more highly.

My personal experience of staying in this hotel is that it showed a lot of promise and had some nice touches but the club noise and the patchy service ruined the stay overall. In particular I found that certain of the hotel staff were a little less helpful to me (aged 30) than they were to some of the older (and possibly ostensibly wealthier..?) guests. Hopefully others will not find this to be the case. If you intend to go out to the clubs then this is incredibly convenient but if not (& you cannot obtain one of the sought-after back rooms away from the road) then there might be better choices for you.

exquisite boutique hotel, close to everything. my companion and i shared a manor villa with spa, and it was like having our own perfect apartment. the villa featured a downstairs living room with wet bar and full bathroom, plus an upstairs bedroom and second full bathroom, all separated by a spiral staircase. outside, we enjoyed a private patio with ample seating and our own hot tub. overall, lots and lots of space. the staff was friendly, attentive and efficient. best of all, we enjoyed tandem, in-room massages that were far better than most spas. bottom line: if you seek quiet, refined luxury, close to but not overwhelmed by the hubbub of so. beach, look no further than the angler's

The layout and decor of the resort was amazing. We stayed in the Tower complex, so we had a 2 story apartment - it was a bit hard to get our suitcases up the tight spiral staircase, but it is possible. The hotel had a lot of personal touches that really made them stand out: 1) The check-in process - the manager met us when we arrived in our taxi, and took us straight up to our suite - totally missing the check-in desk. She promptly came back with some brochures of things that we were interested in and told us about local bus service etc. 2) They had printed up business cards with my name and contact details of the hotel on them that I could use whilst I was staying there. 3) Each day they would drop off a personalised card outlining the weather forecast for the day The BBQ dinner is also highly recommended, and the continental breakfast was a welcome change to the normal bacon eggs that you usually eat when on holidays. I cannot rave about this place enough.

Before we dive into hotel detail, lets be clear. You're certain that you want to stay in an Art Deco hotel? Bear in mind they were all built in the 1940s when people were physically smaller and had lower expectations. If you're still reading, then this hotel is about as good as it gets. All rooms seem to be recently refurbished suites (but not luxurious US style suites - much more compact European style - the sofa is 2m from the bed...). Some even have a private-ish hot-tub outside but heaven knows why in the Miami heat and with the beach so close! The beach is two (very short) blocks away, which is about perfect. The hotel provides a complimentary beach bag with towels and water. The staff are friendly, efficient and helpful. The rooms are very clean, recently fitted out in modern style (safe, ipod dock, tiny fridge full of minibar stuff, aircon, top quality entertainment system). Breakfast is continental. There should not be a check mark against "gym" because it doesnt have one - they give you a voucher for a slightly intimidating boxing club across the street. And the pool is tiny (maybe 5m; about 4 chairs are in the sun at any one time. I know it is October but there are only 9 chairs in total). Now lets be realistic about the 'quiet neighbourhood' comments. There are 3 (sparcely attended) clubs directly across the street that open until late so dont, whatever you do, accept one of the rooms looking over the road. I did initially but the staff were incredibly good and upgraded me without fuss on the Friday night when the bass got a bit too much (and helped move bags etc). I can therefore confirm that rooms at the back of the hotel cannot hear the bass... Of course, that was lucky as it was subject to availability. And anyway, you might be out until 5am yourself... Other than the clubs, the neighbourhood is indeed quiet - i.e. during the day. Upon re-reading, this sounds more critical than it should but I wanted to be realistic. This is a great hotel in a fantastic location. You can walk almost anywhere in South Beach. The staff are friendly and can't do enough for you. The only slight, and I mean slight, disappointment is the pool, which is a bit small and does not get sun all day because it is in a courtyard. If you don't plan to hang by a pool your entire vacation, I highly recommend the hotel.

It was everything I expected and more. I usually stay at the Loews in South Beach but needed a change. everyone was extremely helpful from the Bellman to the front desk. I highly recommended it especially the three story roof top condo. I will return soon.

The front desk staff was attentive and helpful and was sensitive to the fact that we were getting away for a romantic long weekend and put us in a wonderful, quiet and beautiful suite. The suite was impeccably decorated and spacious with two flat screen TV's, a full living room area, a writing desk and work area, a huge bathroom and a comfortable bed. The entire staff in general were helpful, friendly and personal. The food at the hotel's restaurant was wonderful, particularly lunch and brunch. Moreover, it was perfectly located close to the beach and restaurants yet far from the crowds. Though there is no gym on site, the hotel gave us passes to a wonderful gym just two blocks away and when we went ot the beach, they gave us a bag with beach towels and water. I can't recommend it more highly.

I stayed at the Angler Labor Day weekend 2010. This was the second time that I've stayed at the Angler. It's a great hotel. It's two blocks for the beach. The hotel will provide you will beach towels and water bottles. You can also rent umbrellas and chairs at the hotel or at the stand on the beach. It's a block for the shopping on Collins. There's no need to go to Lincoln road to shop. The staff is friendly. The rooms are comfortable and modern. I highly recommend it.

It was great!

I stayed at the Angler's the night before leaving for a cruise. There was someone to greet us at our taxi as soon as we pulled up and did an in-room check in which was very convenient. The room was spacious, clean, and the bed was very comfortable. You can't ask for a better location - within walking distance to Ocean Drive and fantastic restaurants and shopping.

Sublime elegance, unlimited Comfort, and outstanding service characterize this small yet wonderful hotel in Miami Beach. With spacious rooms, friendly staff and a delicious restaurants, this hotel offers its guest with the perfect recipe to forget the chaos of normal life. They just leave you with no other option but to relax and enjoy your vacation to the maximum.

We arrived about 2 hours later than planned - at about 02:00 in the morning. However, Alex checked us in and was smooth, efficient, and above all extremely helpful and courteous. After this we met Carmena (?) in the morning and she helped us with the lowdown on what to do, where to go, what to see, etc. Extrremely helkpful and courteous. On the last day of our stay we had dinner there and Alex (different Alex) waited on us. He was great, dinner was, great, this place was great. We took a chance and booked this hotel without anything to go on other than gut feel and Hotel.com advcie and it was the best choice we made. This place is great - newly upgraded rooms, great stafff, nice location (2 blocks off Ocean Dr. so you don't have to listento rock bands all night). I would recommend this place to everyone!

This hotel was a great find for the money. Very clean, very nice staff and exceeded our expectations. It's in a great spot located just two blocks away from Ocean Drive. It's close to a lot of great restaurants and shopping. Would definitly stay their again, but would get a room away from the main street. At night it can get a little noisy outside.

We had stayed here before and had a fantastic stay then and now....we were in a studio room on 2nd floor just to the front of the hotel....the room was really large which had 4 windows and French doors over looking. Washington ave...we had so much natural light it was fantastic,the quality of the furnishings was fantastic....we never dining in the hotel as we normally dining out after we had been for short walks which suited us .the staff were all so friendly and went out of there way to help with anything we asked of them,staff were well chosen to suit the style of the hotel...we will definatly stay the next time we cruise from miami port as it's location was second to none ...

Nice big room with all the trimmings. Close to south beach. Friendly staff who even pack a beach bag for you.

Everything you hear about this hotel is completely true in regards to how elegant the rooms are and how helpful the staff is. And the restaurant is amazing! My only minus was that at the moment the "3rd Floor" (as my girl put it) exit to the roof was locked until Spring 2010, which was a bit unfortunate since I wanted to take pictures there, but it was ok because we just took them elsewhere. I would recommend the 2 floor rooms just for the swankiness and moreso when the roof is reopened. Don't forget about the iPod docking stations to set the mood... =P

very friendly staff, loved the room and the green spaces.....

Since we checked in super early, they made exceptions and upgraded us to a suite. The staff was friendly and gave us many restaurant recommendations around the area. A superb boutique hotel. Will definitely return.

This hotel was very clean and comfortable. I would highly recommend it to anyone who stays on south beach.

Awesome room, extra clean (and I'm picky w/ cleaniness) spacious. Has valent but you have to pay $25/day, I believe it was great quality hotel for the money, book on hotels.com and you'll get great discount

This place was amazing, very clean and comfortable. the room was very spacious with two Plasma televisions,dvd player,wireless internet, stero system, ipod docking station and speakers in the walls throughtout the room. very impressive. I loved the pool area, very private and well maintained The staff was very professional and accomadating also.

I was disappointed when I was told at check in that this hotel had no rooms with ocean views. I was was in town for a special occasion and wanted a special environment. When I inquired about a nicer room, I was told that the only thing they could do was to upgrade my room at a significant expense. To do this, I was charged an additional amount of $50 a night. On top of that, the room I received had two stories with a spiral staircase to the second level. The staircase was so narrow, it was really difficult taking my luggage upstairs to the bedroom. I would not recommend this room to others for this reason.

in Miami for business for the weekend and this unique but lovely hotel was truly the highlight of my stay. Loved the personal attention I received during my stay and the staff made me feel special. Off Ocean Drive by a couple of blocks, this is truly a hidden gem with the cool duplex rooms with the winding staircase in the tower part of the hotel. It was certainly good value for the money.

Jättebra. De ger verkligen god service. Läget är utmärkt med närhet till strand men ändå inte ett jävla liv ;) Busshållplats precis utanför hotellet, värdefullt när man inte har hyrt bil eller bara vill slippa köra! Kan verkligen rekommendera detta hotell.

Bra hotell i överreklammerat område (South beach). Designinspirerat hotell som ligger två kvarter från "brölet" på Ocean Drive. Alltså nära till stranden. Mycket shopping i närheten men inte särskilt bra sådan. Relativt dyrt hotell. Prisvärd frukost som inte ingår.
