Bare bones, exactly as described and as expected. If you're looking for basic cost conscious accommodation, then you'll appreciate this spot. The breakfast likewise very basic and if you want a wholesome breakfast they offer a discount at the Campanile a few blocks away. The name of the game for this brand is value.

First impressions I had were dire, the receptionist took an age to process a simple check in and was the most miserable person I have ever come across. He asked for 83 cents straight away, rather than saying welcome!However, I did get the specific room I requested. The room was basic but comfortable and clean. The shower was very small, but functional. The wifi worked well. As Lyon can be very expensive during week, and as this is very close to Part Dieu station, I was impressed with the price/quality aspect. Checking out and the receptionists were utterly different, being very cheery. A hotel I would use again, just need to be better at selecting front line staff!

Quite, frankly, I enjoyed my stay in Premiere Classe when one is in a tight budget. It's like taking a seat in the economy section of any airline. Don't expect either satin sheets or oysters Rockefeller. The hotel is, merely, a 5-minute trek to the main train station of Gare Part Dieu with RhoneExpress trains that go directly to the airport. The room is sparse, clean and a comfy feel of a firm mattress. Petit dejeuner is petit as it suggests with just newly-baked bread, fruit juices, yogurts and hot coffee, tea and milk to brak the fast. Take time to walk the length nearby of Rue Paul Bert and its vicinity where one can find very good restaurants and patisseries that serve cuisines from Morocco, Turkey, Algeria and the like for affordable dishes beef stews, grilled lamb and baklava-kind sweets. Lyon is a walkable city with plenty of historical, religious sites, museums, shopping areas and much more. When in Lyon, go and stay in Premiere Classe Hotel.

Overall I give a score of 4. However, one thing that I am not happy about is we were asked to pay tax (though it is not a big sum) when the download confirmation clearly stated in black and white that the charges are inclusive of all taxes and services. As a MATTER OF PRINCIPLE this should not be the case. How can the hotel charge us for the tax when it is stated in writing that ALL TAXES AND SERVICE CHARGES ARE INCLUDED IN THE PRICE.

It wasn't restful to have to deal with unlit halls, a bathroom so small that the shower inevitably soaked the toilet paper, minimal room for one suitcase, having to get tickets on another floor before being given breakfast, etc etc etc. This is about as minimalist as it gets, and despite sound-proofing you hear trains all night.

The hotel delivers exactly what it claims to deliver. Clean, comfortable no frills accommodation in a convenient location at a great price/quality rate. The room itself was quite spacious, but the bathroom is in fact tiny. Worked for me, but there is hardly room to turn around in the shower. If you are taller or bigger, it would be quite uncomfortable. Breakfast was a good deal at EUR 5.50 for the buffet, which - for French standards - was standard, but fine.

What you need if you're travelling on by train

We had a intermediate stop in Lyon before we flew back home. For this purpose, the hotel is perfectly fine. It's situated close to the Part Dieu station where the tram to the airfield has its end station. You shouldn't be over 100kg because of the shower cabin is very tight. The rooms are small and clean. A breakfast is 4,50€. For the price it's ok.

I was traveling all over France for two weeks, and had an early flight back from Lyon to the states, so I decided to stay one night in Lyon. This hotel was perfect for me. It's really close to the train station that takes you to and from the airport, and it's within walking distance to several beautiful areas in Lyon. I felt perfectly safe and secure with the location of the hotel and the staff were extremely nice!

Adequate for $s. Bathroom very small, but at least there was one.

we stay here for 3 nights, location is excellent and just5-7min. walking distance from Gare de Part Dieu, we reached Lyon by night flight and perfectly OK for walking to the hotel by rhone express. the room is very clean, thought shower is bit small, but well, one just spend at most 30 mins. for a shower, so it's OK, another weakpoint is the wifi (free), u needs to ask the receptionist giving u passwords in every day's stay, and u better access it in non rush hrs. , or u get jammed.

I was there on business and found the hotel to be quite satisfactory for that purpose. The showers are far to small. Even for a small person. But the room was very clean, the hotel nice, clean and modern and the people at the front desk quite nice and helpful.

I'd recommend this hotel, for two reasons: location and convenience. The location is perfect, in my opinion, because if you don't drive there is access 5 minutes away from the main train station, metro, trams and buses, as well as the convenience of a tram from the airport: and there's a shopping centre 'on the doorstep' too. If you don't mind walking it's within easy access of Presqu'ile and Vieux Lyon, also accessed by the public transport mentioned. Regarding the hotel itself, although a little basic, each room has wifi and a tv, as well as the usual facilities and the hotel has a breakfast room with polite staff. I've stayed at the hotel twice so far. I'm sure there may be some people who want more to their hotel, but the place is affordable and clean, and when all you really do is sleep there, again, in my opinion, you don't need to 'pay' for things you don't use.

Great location near railway station. One thing - it was too hot inside. Air condition was not in service, maybe because it was only April. But we were really satisfied with this hotel. Across the street you can buy fresh coffee and croissant in the morning.

I was only staying for one night, so just needed a bed for the night, so proximity to old Lyon was not a remote priority. The hotel is located about 5 or so minutes walk to the south from the Rhonexpress stop/railway station in a business district. Rooms either face onto the street or onto the railway- my room faced over the railway, but it was actually quite a quiet location. If you have stayed in a budget french chain hotel, the room layout will be familiar, with a small bathroom pod in the corner, and a table and wall-mounted TV by the window. Rooms are clean, and they leave 2 boiled sweets on the info leaflets for you, which is kind of cute, but unnecessary. Ignore the information in the leaflet about how to connect to the hotel wireless- get the username and pass code from reception when you check-in. You have to re-enter these details after around an hour, so don't lose the details or you'll have to go back to reception! Breakfast is on a par with other budget french chains with an all-you-can-eat set-up- you get 2 breakfast cereals in dispensers, a small selection of breads and jams, yoghurt, and hot drinks and orange juice from a machine. Only difference is the the staff actually clear up after you here. To eat out, there is not a lot going on- there is a pizza place and a chinese restaurant opposite, and the usual fast-food places at the railway station. You could also go to the other hotels for dinner- e.g. Courtepaille Grill at the Ibis. I guess you could just get on the Metro and head to old Lyon for the evening if you are after something more interesting. Overall, a perfectly satisfactory stay.

This is a good place to stay if you are in transit and absolutely need to be within walking distance to Part-Dieu but its so easy to stay a bit further and have access to nicer neighborhoods with more restaurants and more character that I think spending the two euro to take the metro elsewhere is worth it. The rooms is spacious enough for two and the beds aren't bad. Unfotunately people are right the bathrooms are weird. They are best described as orange portapoties with a shower head. It's awkward to take a bath as you have no elbow room the curtain sticks to you and the air in the rooms does not work at all so there's no ventilation in that porta-poty. The windows do open which is good b/c the AC does not work - ok as long as its not summer b/c the rooms bake during the day SW facing building. Like another review said: good for one night.

Three major problems with this hotel: 1. It is a bog standard modern hotel but the only thing premier is the price. 2. The shower control is downright dangerous. You are highly likely to get scalded. I am sure that overheat thermostats are available in France. 3. The breakfast is minimal even by French standards.

The hotel was located where I wanted to be, close to the train station and also to where I had my business meetings. Also, if time allows, the hotel is close to a large shopping center. Although provided at an additional cost, the breakfast was great value, the bread seemed fresh and the juice and coffee were also tasty. The room: bed, desk, tv, bathroom, all of these were fine on their own, but in a small room they caused problems. I was in the room on my own, and with my suitcase open on the ground it was difficult to move around. The shower stall was also smaller than expected. Elbows often hit the sides, and the water temperature selector causing uncomfortable moments. The staff were generally pleasant, except for one attendant. To eat breakfast you must purchase a voucher at reception. When I asked for one, he was very put out. If you are staying one night, the hotel is ok, if you are staying more than that, try to get a big room!

Hotel room was pretty cramped for 3 people, so was the toilet (just slightly bigger than an airplane toilet). Nevertheless, location was extremely good, <400m from Lyon Gare Part Dieu and quiet surroundings. Service at the reception (young chap) was good during the day, but a bit nonchalant (older man) during the night. Overall, I was pretty pleased with the hotel and it's value.

Agreable il y a deux ans j etait venue sa c est tres  bien passer c est pour cela que je suis revenue dans votre hotel.

proche de la gare SNCF c'est un atout mais cher par rapport aux prestations. L'insonorisation n'est pas à la hauteur. Le petit déjeuner est cher par rapport aux produits offerts (1 seul type de jus de fruits, pas de viennoiseries, pas de charcuterie, ni de fromage.....). Pour une nuit en transit mais pas plus.

It is an absolutely ok Hotel for the price and the location is good if you travel by train and want to stay close to the station.

Lit confortable. Chambre calme si l'on ferme les fenêtres. L odeur persistante du nettoyage(désinfection )peut entraîner une gêne. Petit déjeuner correct.

pas terrible du tout trop cher pour les prestations

Dommage que les murs intérieurs soient très mal isolés.

Pas de problème en particulier, Bonne literie, bon accueil, petit déjeuner convenable ! Près de la gare, et surtout près des métros, c'est le côté pratique ! À conseiller mais pour le prix de la chambre renseignez vous et comparez les prix pour profiter d'un tarif moindre !

Bof! Trop bruyant!

bonne impression, Le personnel très sympathique et très aimable.J'ai déjà réservé pour fin mai et orienté une collègue sur votre hôtel.

Dommage pour le coin douche minuscule. Petit déjeuner pas très varié. Personnel accueillant et serviable. Emplacement pour déposer les bagages gratuitement jusqu'à notre départ.

Très pratique car à proximité de la gare de la Part Dieu. Bon accueil. Chambre côté rue tout à fait correcte et bien insonorisée. Je n'hésiterai pas à revenir.

J'ai trouvé que l'hôtel est bien situé, le service est d'une très bonne qualité, la chambre est propre mais pas beaucoup aimé le petit-déjeuner!

+ emplacement, propreté - petit déj très sommaire (4/4, pain au lait, pain) , bruit des trains malgré l'isolation.
