Laurel Inn Motel - ساليناس

We were so pleasantly surprised by our stay at the Laurel Inn. Some of the reviews for this place were not exactly positive. DO NOT LET THOSE REVIEWS SWAY YOU FROM STAYING HERE. The beds were fine-the cleanliness of the entire motel including pool and hot tub are exceptional. The restaurant on site has yummy food. The staff is very friendly and neighborhood is fine also. Only downside which is minimal is that no food from continental breakfast can be taken out of breakfast room-it must be consumed where it is served. I look forward to staying here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for lodging in this area.

Nothing jaw dropping, but perfect for the night. Stayed here after a long day at Laguna Seca Raceway. It was CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN!!! I would definitely stay here again during a race event or if I didn't want to pay the high $$$'s in Monterey.

trash in the pool. only 2 pillows on the king size bed. bed was not very comfortable. Actually seemed a little pricy for what it was.

Enjoyed our stay. Nice clean, large room. Would stay there again.

I am SHOCKED this hotel has such hi reviews. The room was what you would expect for a motel, I guess, and the location was workable, but the bed was that hardest bed I have ever slept on and the pillows where like sleeping on a pillow case. The AC was so loud it sounded like somone banging on the window all night. I was up and down about ten times. If you are on a crazy budget I guess go for it but next time I'm paying a little more for courtyard across the street. Would NOT reccommend to friends or family.

I liked the warm welcome with the cookies and was satisfied with the Breakfast. The staff was also friendly

We stayed in 5 different Hotels/Motels on a trip trough CA and this one definitely had the best quality for the price. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The Motel is easy to access from the freeway (you just have to take the right exit :-) and the breakfast was very good.

This motel is one of the nicest motels that I've stayed out. The breakfast is yummy, with lots of foods to choose from. The rooms are very clean.My a only complaint would be the noisiness of people around us. There was couple upstairs that apparently was having a marathon of activites. Also, the bed was uncomfortable and the pillows were small. Bring your own Pillows. However I would stay here again!

The bed was too hard for me to sleep well. The breakfast room is very crowded and the tables are arranged for maximum chaos. The tile in the bathroom tub/shower is very nice! The room was quiet enough but I will not stay here again. I'd rather pay more for a comfortable bed!! The staff are nice but there are no do not disturb signs so the housekeeper kept banging on our door all morning. I was pleased that although the motel was full of students we didn't notice much noise from their activities.

I was very surprised about how nice the place was for the price. I read the reviews and was not totally convinced, but since we were just in need of a one nights rest we went ahead and took a chance. The price was ver reasonable and I was more glad once I saw the facilities. The room was very clean and it looked like it had been updated. We were all very happy with our choice. Next time we will definitely book with them again.

This is an ok hotel. Nothing special. The beds could be better. The room smells a little bit of smoke...

A good place to stay near Salinas and Monterey. Also right next to Black Bear Diner. Nice clean and safe facility.

I'm glad we didn't stay on the freeway side of the motel or it wouldn't have been so quiet. Rates very reasonable and desk very helpful with maps to Monterey where we wanted to go and good recommendation for the full breakfast the next morning at First Awakenings not far away, and convenient to the Steinbeck Center. Suggest an alternate map to Monterey, taking Reservation Rd. out to Hiway 1, for more scenic beach drive that leads to Old Fisherman's Wharf and Cannery Row.

We were just passing through so we really enjoyed that this hotel was very near the freeway and so easy to locate. The included breakfast was appreciated.

Our bed was full of springs in our back, probably never, ever been updated. The walls were thin and the windows were even thinner. We could hear ever person walking by, ever conversation...every laugh, scream or child not wanting to wake up. It was a weekend of no sleep. The coffee maker didn't work, the shower leaked, there was a fridge but no microwave. Asked for a different room, was not given one. The restaurant on site was fabulous.

Room was okay. When we opened the window we had a view of the trash area, so kept the windows closed. Pillows are very small. But for the most part enjoyed our stay. Continental breakfast is good.

Over all the inn is just OK. Needs some serious updating. The complimentary breakfast is really lacking in food choice and location. We were next to a stair well and there were other guests running up and down and making a lot of noise which echoed off the walls and kept us up most of the night.

For the price, we thought this motel was really excellent. We were concerned given some of the reviews we read; we even considered changing the booking. Pleasant surprise. There were freshly baked cookies at reception on our arrival, check-in was very efficient (although it could perhaps have been a bit friendlier – not that it was unfriendly, just a bit ‘wham-bam, thank you ma’am’) and the room was one of the best we stayed in – large, spotlessly clean, two beds and a seating area, what looked like new furniture and soft furnishings, great towels and surprisingly quiet, given it’s on the highway. My only niggle would be that the walls between the rooms were a bit thin – I could hear next door’s actual conversation when they came back at night (although their voices were quite loud, to be fair). Didn’t last long, luckily, so no real problem. Breakfast was good. Overall, a great place to stay for the money.

Comfortable friendly efficiently run motel. Easy to find. Great continental breakfast with lots of choice of different breads and pastries served in nice light breakfast room with newspapers and news TV. The adjacent (directly opposite reception) Black Bear diner was also very friendly, helpful and flexible and they have a VAST menu with something for everyone. We stayed for 9 days while we were on a course and it was just right for what we needed.

Heard from a friend (a bit late) that Salinas has a rough reputation, but this hotel was everything except that. Cheap motel price with a very nice quality room. Everything I look for in a nice hotel. Even Free Wifi!

I wish all those 4 or 5 star hotels had such well maintained rooms. Also found the mattresses quite comfortable. The only thing would be the air condition being a bit noisy. Still highly recommended.

We had nosiey next door neighbors till 10:30 pm. Called the front desk, I don't think they did anything.

Laurel Inn was much better than we expected - the service, the location, the room, the Black Bear restaurant next door, the breakfast with the bossy waffle lady, the laundromat close by. It was a shame the walls are so thin you can hear the neighbours talking and people walking past the room.

We had a quiet stay, easy freeway access and the staff was fabulous! Curteous, helpful and very pleasant. If I made one request it would be to have more that two pillows on the beds, they were flat too. Nonetheless, I had a comfotable stay. The continental breakfast had a decent mix of choices, breads and pastries, fruit, juice, coffee, cereal, yogurt. (I would have enjoyed some hard boiled eggs).

Although this hotel was next to the freeway. I found the rooms quiet and didn't hear any traffic noise.

The staff at the hotel are the friendliest I've ever encountered. I felt so welcome. The hotel is clean, clean, clean. The staff at the breakfast bar was so attentive. I highly recommend this hotel.

The rooms were really clean and comfortable. The breakfast was REALLY good..it was an "Actual" breakfast with Tea, Coffee, Juices, Cereal, French Toast, Waffles, Fruit, Muffins, Bagels...The staff was very friendly.

This was our second stay here. We like that it is off the main road and therefore quiet. The included breakfast next door is excellent. The rooms are a bit small, but clean and the bed is comfortable. I recommend it.

Great little place, peaceful, roomy and clean.Great rates, Awesome cookies. I'd definitely stay there again. We slept in so we missed the breakfast, and room service opened our door accidentally. Otherwise, it was worth the stay. Pool and Hot tub, but we only stayed a night. Fridge, coffeemaker, iron, basically everything you need for a short stay.

This hotel is just OK. But you get what you pay for. The only complaint I have is the bed was not very comfortable. Cheap pillows also. Other than that, it was sufficient.

Very friendly people. Rooms were very clean and the location of motel was close to shopping centers and freeway entrances. Cost of room was very reasonable. Would recommend to others.

Only place

Outside of motel looked a little rundown, but inside the room I had was very nice and very clean. The street noise was noticeable, but I'm not sure what the motel can do about it. The continental breakfast was very nice: a selection of pastries, cereals, yogurt, and fruit.

Older hotel but well kept up, was a little cheaper than the other hotels in the area. The continental breakfast was decent.

This is a reasonable, clean hotel. Other hotels in the area were quoting double the price. It was close to our family function, which made it very handy. We asked for a quiet room and got one. Though it is close to the freeway, we didn't hear it at all. :-)

Pros: Good continental breakfast. Competitive price than other hotel around Monterey. easy parking. Good location. Bad: Little far from Monterey. Noise from refrigator and electronic in room(I did unplug) Usual motel, but little clean, good breakfast that is save time and money in the morning.

Very Clean and Friendly staff. Good Price

Wanted to break up my 4 hr drive from SF Bay Area to Morro Bay and found this hotel-motel in Salinas for one night. Clean, quiet, affordable, and convenient to Highway 101. Only thng I'd improve is the height of the shower head but other than that, two thumbs up for the price. The Black Bear Diner onsite served pretty decent breakfast grub too.

I'll ditto what the other reviewers said, this place is so very welcoming, from the fresh baked, tender cookies @ reception to a place where I could have my evening cig, unmolested by the pool. The Black Bear Restaurant is right in front of the hotel and the complimentary morning breakfast has French Toast better than Mom's. Decent coffee. It was surprisingly quiet, right next to the 101. The hotel was very clean and updated. It was well -appointed with hair dryers and toiletries. It's a terrific value and 30 minutes away from Cannery Row. Check out Wild Things where the hotel sponsors Luke the Lion, @ the wild animal rescue. This place is a great value, it doesn't exactly have a view, but I will stay here again. I like their pride and values. It shows in their service.

The staff at this motel was very nice and helpful. However, it is a very noisy place at night due to the location near a busy street and paper thin walls. The bed was not very comfortable, it was soft and lumpy, probably a really old mattress. The price was very reasonable.
