Holiday Inn Club Vacations at Ascutney Mountain Resort - براونفيل

This is a beautiful resort with great rooms. I had a meeting in Claremont the next morning and I enjoyed my stay very much. The staff was very friendly and the rooms were enormous and very clean.

Staff is great, hotel is clean, rooms are spacious. When the weather is not great plenty to do ...I was very happy and will deff go there again hopefully this summer

A was with my family for a very short vacation at Holiday Inn Club Vacation in Ascutney VT, and I come back with a very good impression about this area and regarding this hotel. Very good condition, clean, in middle of nowhere, if you like to enjoy the nature, it is a very good place. I arrived around 4PM and I received very fast a good 1bedroom apartment, in good condition. The wireless internet was provided for free. I was very nice surprised about the hotel hospitality. I would like to come back as soon as possible.

This is a great property. The furnishings were very tasteful and the rooms well appointed. Plenty of family space with a nice kitchen and living room area. The Queen size bed barely fit in the room however and the bath was even tighter with a 20 inch wide vanity and two very dim lights over the mirror making it dark even for shaving. This, btw, was the only mirror in the place so there was no way for two people to get ready at once. Other than that, it was a good choice and would choose it again based on the price.

We had to attend a memorial service in the area and this was a great place to relax afterward. There was plenty of room and the staff were so kind. We hope to be back to enjoy the area in the other seasons too.

This hotel, although beautiful at first glance, was a real let down. To begin, we came to see and enjoy the renown skiing of Vermont and thought a resort located near lifts would be ideal. Unfortunately we found out upon arrival that the Ascutney mountain and lifts were permanently closed. So we ventured into "town" and there wasn't a soul in sight. The general store and one gas station wasn't any better. I bought $80 of groceries, the only person in the store, and didn't get as much as a "hello" or "how are you?" Then I started to look around even more, expecting that in the middle of December there should be at least some hustle and bustle, and there were only a few cars parked at the hotel and even fewer hotel guests. It was erie. We thought we might as well make the best of it and ventured into famous Woodstock, also known to the locals as "Rockefeller" town... and although the shopping was interesting, the people were so unfriendly. At two seperate restaurants, several of the regular menu items were out, food was burnt, the soda machine was out of syrup, and you would at least want to believe the server would be aplogetic. In the end, we paid a fortune for quality little better than Marie Calendars near an isolated cabin in Alaska. Well, at least in Alaska we might have seen some bears. Sorry, I have to give this experience 2 stars.

The rooms were very nice, clean and spacious. It's unfortunate that the ski resort next door has gone out of business...

GREAT place in the middle of nowhere. Friendly and attentive staff, good restaurant and excellent workout facailities.....if you want to get away from it all, this place is great!

The 2 room villas with full kitchen,granite,living room, Master and two baths are roomy, newly refurbished and mellow. Tv in bedrooms and living. All the comforts and then some. Ask for a Mountain view. You will overlook the abandon ski slope and chairs, but the view and comfort is worth it. Less than 20-30 min drive to sightseeing towns,including great trip to Woodstock. Easy commute off of 91. Bring dinner and eat in, as you will not want to leave your comfy villa. The staff very friendly. It is a little sad that the ski mountain is closed, be sure you are aware that this is the case if you plan to ski. Elevator in Main building only, otherwise haul up 1.5 flights but not bad. Laundry service may be available down the hall. We plan to return and use the location as our anchor to tour local towns and return in the evening to a very pleasant location and rest. Diane

the hotel is great. Our room is very clean and comfy. Room is not big, but feel very roomy. The view we had was great. we faced fountain and ski life with huge grassy ground. Staffs are very friendly as well. My kids loved the place and would like to stay for longer time. The only thing is that the hotel is in the middle of nowhere. You need to drive some distance to get to somewhere like bigger market. However, the hotel itself is great and would recommend to anyone.

Great vacation resort at a reasonable rate. There were lots of on site activities. Very clean and staff was very friendly and helpful with any requests. We went during the summer and enjoyed the greenery and beauty of the Vt hills. This resort would be a great place to go in the winter as well since there is a ski lift right on the property. Great place to stay.

Charming multi-building vacation spot with lots of amenities. nicely decorated rooms, wireless internet, off the beaten path, wonderful restaurants nearby, Temple Shir Shalom in Woodstock for Jewish visitors, complete health spa, but no jacuzzi, terrific mountain view

Even though it was 30 min from Hanover and Dartmouth College it was a perfect place to stay for graduation weekend. We stayed in a two bedroom suite with a kitchen and a living room. Both bedrooms had their own bathroom, so it was perfect for two couples. Kitchen worked out perfect for breakfast as the breakfast at the hotel was an extra six dollars and wasn't worth it. The quality of the hotel was great for the price. It was very quiet and in a beaultiful location. There was an indoor pool and movies! The quality of the hotel was great for the price.

When I booked I thought the ski resort was still open. We had just stayed a week @ Jackson Gore @ Okemo and needed 1 extra night because of storm. Decided to stay here and were bowled over by the level of quality. We had a 2 bedroom suite with fireplace, kitchen that FAR exceeded Jackson Gore. Super comfy beds, sparkling clean, excellent service including evening family movie in theatre with popcorn. No one wanted to leave! We will be back during their high season, which is summer. Oh, it was less than 1/2 price of Okemo room per night. Even with drive to mtn, we will stay here for jet years ski vacation.

The staff at the hotel was extremely friendly and obliging from our initial check-in to the check out three days later. We stayed in a 2 -bedroom villa. It was an amazing price for the comfort and size of the place! We will definitely be returning!

The hotel staff is very friendly and accommodating. We had a suite and the rooms were very clean. The restaurant and bar were fine too. We would have liked fresh towels though as that is what we are used to. The furniture is rather old and could definitely be improved (couch and chairs slope).

The rooms have VERY THIN WALLS! TVs in the surrounding rooms could be heard, along with conversations. The rooms were in excellent condition and appeared to be recently remodeled, although they were quite small...especially for a resort area where one will be in their room more than in a city. Some rooms have kitchens and aromas (not necessarily all good ones) were wafting through at the bottom of the adjoining doorway. The surrounding area is very scenic and a serene setting. It is approx 20 minutes to a restaurant in the nearby town. Food and service at the hotel restaurant was excellent and presented nicely. Great musicians playing the night we were there. All four of us enjoyed the entrees we selected, and cocktails were also good. The hotel signs do not mention Holiday Inn prior to arriving at the resort. Directions printed were correct, but until you get to the hotel, you will not see the name 'Holidy Inn'. Hotel staff at check-in was young and a bit inexperienced in dealing with questions, issues, etc. Waited in line to check in, due to hotel staff not putting questions aside or getting add'l help. For the price, this hotel seemed lesser quality than others we have stayed in. The noise in neighboring rooms being heard all hours will keep us from staying there again.

Liked - The hotel seemed relatively new. Very comfortable room and bed. Staff were pleasant. Disliked - Found two hairs in our bed (that weren't ours!). Confusion at check in - our room didn't seem to be ready to check in to, despite being 4pm. Not much else in the area - had to travel to Woodstock (~20 minute drive) for dinner. Walls very thin - could hear everything in the next room.

We stayed one night while on a "leaf peeping" trip through VT. When we arrived there was some confusion with the booking - they seemed quite disorganized and spent a good 20 minutes shuffling through papers while telling us "we have your room, we just need to see if it is clean". This was a little surprising given it was 4pm. They then told us to go for a walk and while they checked the room was clean. We came back 20 minutes and went to our room. It was small, but clean and the bed was comfortable. Unfrotunatley when I hopped in the bed that night we found two random hairs. There was also a door interconnecting to the next room. Unlike any other hotel that has two doors in this situation, there was only one. So we were woken at one point by a child in the next room screaming an dplaying with the door handle (luckily we had locked it!). You could also hear everything in the next room. Only one place to eat at the resort - looked over priced for pub fare, so we went about 20 minutes away to Woodstock for dinner. All in all, okay.

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Another reviewer claimed that there was no restaurant but the reception indicated there is a restaurant. It would be nice when I could open a window.

At 12:30 AM there was still so much shouting in the hallways and people slamming doors that it was impossible to sleep. To make matters worse, when I reported it the staff seemed totally indifferent. When checking out I told the woman at the front desk we would never return and she simply ignored my comment. I encountered 4 staff people and only 1 seemed to care at all.

Hotel Ascutney was a little hard to find considering we were on a motorcycle. We did not realize we were staying in a time share suite- so that was a little odd ofr us and we had to pay extra for house keeping and there was no coffee in the room for our coffe maker. when we booked the hotel it did not indicate that we had to stay at another building. the building was very pretty and the staff was very nice.

Condos are older, but newly renovated (7/2009). The 1 bedroom suite was comfortable, with a full kitchen and large living room with faux fireplace. There is an exercise/sports facility w/ large indoor and outdoor pools, racketball courts and tennis courts as well as an extensive, if aged, weight room. Only one choice on-site for dining and drinking during the summer, but it's a five mile drive to town where there are plenty of options.

The one thing I didn't like about this hotel is how far it is from any major restaurants or shopping areas. I found myself driving 20 miles or more just to get to a shopping mall or a familiar restaurant. However, the mountain views and the scenery from the hotel were absolutely breathtaking, as is typical with the Vermont countryside.

We travelled to New Hampshire to see our son graduate from Dartmouth College. Everyone loved the resort and the great view and scenery. The villa rooms were wonderful for a whole family to enjoy the weekend. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Would reccommend this hotel to everyone looking for a nice quiet location.
