Lomas del Volcan - فورتونا

The hotel Los de Volcan was a very good value for vistiting Arenal and La Fortuna. It is located down a long gravel drive about a half mile from La Fortuna center.The cottages were rustic but nicely appointed.My only criticism would be about the dull lighting,which wqs not conducive to reading.

My sister and I stayed here for 4 days. The view of the volcano was great, especially while eating the complimentary breakfast. (A huge variety of foods, fresh fruit juice, and eggs made to order.) Every staff member was incredibly friendly and helpful. Only two very small issues - we had some bugs in our bathroom (to be expected in the jungle), and the property is situated a little out of walking distance from downtown. Overall, I would recommend any friend to stay here, and I would definitely stay again!

my wife and i took my parents for a four days stay at lomas del volcan and my impression of the hotel was very good from the very start, the staff was very pleasant and helpful, from the waiters to the housekeepers to the attendants at the front desk, also all the activities we did were booked from there and the services and guides were very pleasant as well, the only thing i would liked to see improved is the quality of their matresses, but i would definately go back there to stay, my wife and i are already planning to return to arenal and stay at lomas del volcan ance again

This is as close as your going to get to the volcano. The rooms are lodges and your back yard view is the volcano it has a small round table with 4 chairs to enjoy the view. The guys at the reception desk Robert and Jonathan are great. They will recommend places to eat original Costa Rica food and activities to do in town. Stay away from Bali 's spa. US prices with bad service. Bad as in they do not know how to do the services to par. The personal is wonderful but faisal was bad. I would come back to this hotel again and again

Lomas Del Volcan is a great spot when visiting Volcan Arenal. It is just a few minutes outside of La Fortuna in one direction and about 10 minutes to Tabacon Hot Springs in the other direction. The gate to the hotel is large, so it's difficult to miss. The cobblestone road ends after about 200 meters and you then travel about 800 meters on a very rough gravel road before meeting the cobblestone again on your way up the resort. The grounds were immaculate and the cabins were really cozy. The only complaint was that our toilet didn't flush very well in our room and the walls are quite thin. Outside of those two little things, it was a great cabin. It had a huge shower and two queen beds. The porch on the back of the cabin that looks up at the volcano is really nice as well. They even had a flat screen TV with international channels so that we could kill some time when it was pouring rain. The only thing I didn't appreciate is that we originally booked 2 cabins and decided to have the 4 of us stay in one when we found out they have two queen beds in each. We checked-in with 4 people and on the final day, after we had checked out and finished breakfast, they pulled me back to the front desk and told me there was a mistake and charged me an extra $110! I understand the situation, but it was something that probably should have been forgiven being that it was them who overlooked that we had 4 people with us to check into 1 cabin... Anyway, it turned out to be a very expensive breakfast... Other than the last little snafu, it was a great place.

I was very pleased with the Lomas del Volcan. The location was great and you ould not beat the scenery! Lovely cabin that was not too secluded but felt like you were surrounded by nature. The staff was quite helpful as well. As a single traveler or family, I would definitely recommend. Ask for the 500 level cabins...I think they have the best view of the volcano!

The staff are very accomodating. We got there late, and they kept the restaurant open for us. The hot tub was broken, but the pool was clean. We loved the private cabin with its own little porch. The hotel restaurant was pretty overpiced, but the food was decent.

Lomas is a great hotel. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They will bend over backwards to help you out. The rooms are quaint and surrounded by beautiful greenery. The hotel is also quite close to the pueblo, so it's fun to go into town and eat at the local sodas. It is a bit difficult to get to, so if you are renting a car, I suggest getting a 4 wheel drive. My only complaint is that the mattresses are a bit hard. Other than that, it's a beautiful place to be.

Your hotel is great. The staff are wounderfull and the food is great. Highly recommended.

The hotel grounds and location are superb. You can sit and have breakfast looking at the top of the volcano or the lovely landscaped gardens. The chalet accommodations are very spacious and clean; the hotel staff are very friendly and attentive to customer needs. For the walkers the hotel is at a good walking distance from La Fortuna where thre are plently of nice restaurants and souvenirs shops. All in all I'd recommend this hotel for nature lovers and for people looking for tranquillity and spectacular views !

Pros: Nice sized private bungalows. Huge bathrooms. Breathtaking view of volcano in the backyard of your bungalow, basically. Comfortable beds, A/C. Easy access to main lobby. Extremely helpful staff. 2 computers with internet in main lobby and free Wifi available in main lobby, restaurant, pool area. Cons: Bumpy difficult road to main town - La Fortuna. Need a $5-6 taxi ride to and from. If you are a light sleeper bring ear plugs - bungalows are made mostly of wood and sporadic loud creaks throughout the night. For those who dont like creepy crawlers, the rooms are not 100% bug sealed.

Not the fanciest hotel but it's nice to have your own little house with more privacy. The service was great and the restaurant had some good dishes. The pool was cold but the hot tub was gigantic. Great location. Overall we were very satisfied for the price we paid.

PROS: It was nice having individual cabins with front and back porches, the bathroom and shower were huge, the view of the volcano was amazing, the staff was friendly especially if you speak spanish (the front desk staff speak english very well), the bar and restaurant area were nice with a great view of the volcano, the food was pretty good. CONS: The drive from the main road to the hotel is a little rutted and about 1KM long, there are no TVs in the rooms, the safe didn't work. Overall a nice stay and we will be staying there again.

Perfecte locatie om te verblijven. Goed restaurant ,aardig personeel. Twee minpunjes zijn: afstand naar het dorp(je moet een auto hebben of taxi nemen) Het uitzicht op de vulkaan is perfect als hij niet in de mist zit alleen jammer dan hij schijnbaar al 1,5 jaar niets doet!

très bien placé au pied du volcan , en revanche si on a réservé une chambre standard 2 personnes , on n'a pas la vue sur le volcan comme indiqué ? ce qui a été notre cas !! Il faut réserver les grandes chambres ou qualité sup pour vraiment avoir la vue au pied du volcan.. Petit dejeuner buffet excellent et très bien garni ..
