good hotel friendly staff

Good hotel handy for train or airport

The hotel is in a brilliant location opposite the train station, so it's close to everything. The staff are very helpful, the hotel is clean and the rooms are spotless. Free wi-fi is also very good, and the imacs and fridges in the room are a nice touch. The rooms however, are a bit small (think Travelodge size) and could be comfier. I've stayed in the Macdonald Manchester down the road before and I'd recommend staying there instead. Huge rooms, comfy chairs and beds and large bathrooms, The Doubletree was nice, but the rooms felt like a slightly posher Travelodge

My only issue is finding the hotel and parking. Had difficulty finding the property as there is only a sign on the front of the property which is on a side road you cannot drive down. Sign needed on the side of the hotel on the main road.

Considering it was only 9 degrees outside, the ambient temperature of the room was high and I prefer to open the window rather than ramp up the AC. Trams very noisy if you happen to be that side of the hotel. Decided to close the window and rely on the AC. AC was louder than the trams!!

Friendly staff, barmen make great cocktails. Rooms minimal but clean. Bathroom very nice. Breakfast was usual buffet very good and nice atmosphere.

We were travelling from London to catch a football match and we arrived at Manchester relatively early. Besides being greeted warmly, we were offered the room way ahead of check in time and managed to catch some rest after the train ride. Upon seeing that the bed type wasn't what we requested, we phoned up the front desk and they had a team up swiftly to convert the beds. Throughout the entire session, we had an enjoyable conversation with the team and they were done in no time. The concierge team was also very helpful with the directions when quizzed on how to get to the stadiums. Overall, we stayed there for a night but it's location and professional service left a memorable impression to me and my wife. Thank you for the personnel at DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Manchester - Piccadilly!

I stayed this hotel one night for my business trip to manchester. The location of the hotel was excellent because the hotel was near the station.

Stayed for one night, hotel is great and the staff are helpful. Will stay again.

Very convenient for Piccadily stn and city centre. Walking distance to MEN Arena.

Great location so close to train station breakfast excellent only minus was our room had a interconnecting door great if a family or group of friends but not good unless you want to hear every word and noice from strangers next door, put it this way I would have liked my children to have been in our room!!!

It was great and the evening meal superb. Only disappointment was no robes in the room even though these were stated on the hotel confirmation

I booked the doubletree hotel as it was close to picadilly train station and not far from the shopping centre. a lovely welcome at reception. the room was of a good size and the bathroom was very luxury. the only fault was we had an in iternal room connencting us to next door meaning we could hear everything they got up too! top an bottom of it i would book this hotel fantastic service an great location.

Close to station, good attentive staff

A good quality hotel, well priced. Liked the iMac's in the room. Comfortable beds. Efficient check-in/out service. Would stay again.

The only problem I had with the hotel was they forgot to give us towels on the second morning. Other than that the hotel was lovely, very clean and the staff were very helpful.

Great stay - nice rooms - only shower in my room but not an issue - efficient check in and check out service - car park was a bit pricey and the drinks in the bar were not cheap but there were plenty of options locally in the bars - easy location to the train station - 2 minutes walk.

Most things with the hotel were fine, except the sound carried between rooms and the people in the room next to us decided that coming in at 4am with all thier friends and continuing their party would be a good idea. After a call to reception their friends were evently kicked out and I was able to get back to sleep. Not really the hotels fault but left me tired and irritable the next day, Not what you want when you stay in a hote so you can get to a meeting relaxed and awake.

Hotel staff particularly helpful for myself as disabled guest. Guest services staff Milo and Ben and Manager Paul were stars. Reception staff not very welcoming and had made mistakes with booking. Restaraunt food was adequate but ambiance in Piccadilly bar was nice. Room make up was hit and miss and we had to ask for a make up twice during stay. Room could have been cleaner but bed comfortable.

We stayed for 2 nights. Hotel location very close to the Manchester Piccadilly Railway station. Very well kept hotel in a busy city. Convenient location for train travel to/from the Manchester Airport & a daytrip to Liverpoool.

Coming out of Manchester Piccadilly, there it was directly in front of the station. And what a pleasant surprise to find such a high quality hotel right next to the station. Call it prejudice, but in my experience, "station" hotels tend to be there for the desperate traveller who has to stay a night and has no option to shop around. Not so for this Hilton. From the welcoming warm cookie to the bar and restaurant, luxury seems to be the order of the day. I was particularly impressed by the Macintosh computer with broadband access to the internet provided free in the room. No exciting views, though a tram did pass under my windows every 10 minutes, but I couldn't hear it if I wasn't looking so it was no distraction. Room was spacious enough for my business trip and bathroom amenities were excellent. I didn't visit the restaurant or bar so can't comment on these, though the menu appeared to be better than many hotel chains, though prices were inflated in comparison to independent restaurants, as you might expect. Overall, an excellent stay and I would recommend this hotel.

Chose this hotel as it looked near to Piccadilly Station and indeed it was! No problem with noise from trains as the room was adequately soundproofed. Good for business trips.

easy check-in and the Hot Chocolate Cookies on arrival were delicious! room was spotlessly clean, hospitality tray well stocked! close to trains, trams, buses and best of all The Shops!! Well done Double Tree!!!

Stay here if you want a good location with easy access to the station, if you want a modern clean good spec hotel, if you like exploring a city in the day and stumbling back from bars at night and you can enjoy good food or try one of the local resturants ... You will not be disappointed (ESP if you book early as its cheap!)

What a great choice for a concert at the MEN Arena. We walked out of Picadilly Station and the hotel is right there. All the main shops also on this street and the MEN arena was 10mins walk away - fine for my daughter and I to attend a concert at and walk back from. Breakfast included was a bonus and the 12 oclock checkout was a gift really. I would book again, cant ask for much more really.

I arrived fairly late in the evening, but had advised the hotel of this. The staff were ready for me and the booking in process was quick and efficient. I was fortunate to be given the last available parking space in the hotel garage and whilst i parked my car, my bags were taken to my room. when the staff were advised that other members of my family were also staying in the hotel, they immediately offered me a room on the same floor. I was in Manchester for a wedding, so only needed bed and breakfast service, which was excellent. The staff were all friendly and extremely helpful and I enjoyed my stay.

Happy to stay there again

Room was small. No bath tub just shower. TV was a first edition 17" iMac with a TV converter. Served a purpose as an over night stay but would consider elsewhere for a longer stay. Breakfast was OK. Not much different from a nice Premier Inn only double the cost. Hotel was clean.

The hotel is a budget hotel charging premium price. the food in particular was very poor which was very disappointing as I chose the most expensive dish. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.

My wife and I stayed in the Hilton one night in February to attend a concert in the Manchester Arena as hotels near the venue were charging double the price. The venue was walkable but also only a £5 taxi ride away. Hotel was was literally two minutes walk from Piccadilly station which is why we chose it and it gave us a quick access to the airport. This hotel had been refurbished recently and it showed. The rooms were large, had loads of daylight due to the floor to ceiling windows, the bed was perfect and the Apple TV was a pleasant surprise.. Internet speed was around 8Mbps. Although we didn't use it, the bar had a great deal on food. Burgers and pint or wine for £11.95 and the restaurant deal was two course meal with a glass of wine for £14.95. All in all this hotel is recommended.

The hotel was lovely, the surrounding neighbourhood due to no fault of the hotel was a little dirty with litter. However the location was great close to the shops and transport links. We got a accessible room- accidentally! But I would recommend to everyone even if you don't need it as it as much bigger than the other rooms. The only draw back was the adjoining door - don't worry it is locked but it doesn't appear to be very sound proofed and when I hen party came into their room next door at 2 in the morning we were woken up, we could also hear all their conversations in the hours following. Breakfast in the restaurant was lovely and so was the early bird meal in the resturantI would recommend it. The staff in the resturant were always polite and made every effort to help you. We were lucky enough to stay here for 3 nights thur-sun, although we would stay here again we wouldn't stay at the weekend as it defiantly got much noisier with a fair few hen and stag parties.
