This hotel was really cute- a little further from the airport than the other hotels, but seemed more authentic. Pool, gardens, and playground were nice. Staff was friendly, helpful, and spoke English.

The hotel was clean and the room nicely decorated, and the grounds were well maintained.

Nice hotel, about 15 minutes from the airport. Get very good directions and be there before the restaurant closes around 10PM because it's gated and the gates are locked and not attended. I sat there at 10:30 at night whistling and someone heard me and came. Breakfast was good and included.

what a lovely hotel, was a bit worried as it doesnt look so up to date, but i had nothing to worry about! it was so quiet and tranquil, the staff were absolutely wonderful, particularly on reception, and the restaurant next door had the best steak ive ever had. as a single traveller i was staying after a night on okeanoss aggressor liverboard so didnt have a lot of time to do the tourist stuff so wanted some peach and quiet with a nice meal. this was perfect for me.

The steakhouse is a bargain compared to other restaurants in the area and it is excellent.

I chose this hotel as the price was reasonable and it was close to the airport - also it included breakfast and WiFi internet. The staff were incredibly accomodating, arranged to call bus co's and taxis etc. on my behalf and allowed me a late check-out as I waited. The clerk spoke English very well and was extremely nice and helpful. The room was large, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was more than I expected and quite good. I'd definitely stay again!

The location was close to the airport. It was very clean, had hot water and the staff was very friendly. The food at the restaurant was great, but expensive. It was our first night in Costa Rica and so we didn't mind. We arrived 10 min. prior to the restaurant closing and the staff kept the kitchen open for us which made us very happy. The hotel was a little oasis in the "city". We could hear birds signing during breakfast. They had a pool, but we didn't take advantage of it as we left early in the morning. The only thing that was a negative was that the beds were very hard for our taste. Other than that, I would stay here again.

Stayed here in November for an overnight stay before my flight home - the staff were pretty rude and unhelpful when I arrived. The room looked lovely and the beds were so comfy, but all I could smell throughout was sewage - nothing got rid of it!

Close to the airport, great service, extremely helpful and friendly. We ended up booking this hotel again at the end of our trip. A must. We had three rooms. Our teenage boys loved it, grandma loved it and so did my husband and I.

I stayed here for one night when I first flew into Costa Rica. It wasn't as close to the airport as I thought it would be so the cab ended up costing $15. There were a bunch of tiny bugs in my room, but it is Costa Rica. There are bugs all over. The customer service was OUTSTANDING though. The front desk staff was super nice and helpful. They also spoke English, which is nice for a silly tourist like me! The free breakfast was great, they actually cook you food to order. I'd definitely recommened it if you feel like dishing out a little more money for good service.

Great service!! The hotel has charm and the restaurant in front is above average!! The only negative is that the rooms are a bit outdated!! Pura Vida!!

While visiting relatives in the area we stayed at this hotel. We were very surprised at how beautiful the hotel and the grounds were. Very clean and comfortable rooms. The employees were friendly and courteous. I would definitely stay there again.

After travelling for 17 hours this was a welcome break. The reception girl had us booked in quickly and the room was a good size and the beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was of a good standard. The girl on the reception was very helpful the next morning in arranging for the hire car company coming to the Hotel rather than us having to return to the airport to sort it out. Over all an enjoyable and relexing one night stay. ( Taxi from airport cost us $10)

the rooms have wood floors and are nice. The restaurant is good, location is not as convenient to the airport as others.

We stayed here at the beginning and end of our trip to Costa Rica and chose it because of the location near the airport. Roads in San Jose are difficult to navigate, but if you know where you're going it is a short 10min drive from the airport. All in all a nice place, beds are a little hard, but clean and the staff is very friendly. I wouldn't recommend it for anything more than an overnight stay because it is well outside of San Jose.

I needed a place to stay that was close to the airport (10 minutes in a cab and about $10) and El Rodeo was perfect. Large rooms, clean, pool and a tennis court. Breakfast was very good and the hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I would stay there again!

Place was convenient and the staff was extra helpful. Rooms were clean and secure.

We stayed here due to the good ratings on Hotels.com and the close proximity to the San Jose airport. We figured the location would be a good place to get some shut eye prior to our early morning flight back to the USA. Unfortunately, the hotel is located right next to a dance hall, and the music was blaring all night long, making sleep impossible. We called the front desk, but they weren't able to do anything (it's a small property, so apparently all the rooms would have been too lound, making changing rooms pointless). All in all, the location is convenient, so if you have a late flight out and want to stay up and party, this might be the location for you. But if you have an early morning flight, I'd definitely look elsewhere.

El Rodeo Country Inn is a great hotel. The staff is friendly and helpful. The staff prepared a breakfast box for us when we left for our plane at 4:00 am. The restaurant is fantastic. The hotel has several nice areas to sit and relax. There is a pool table and a tennis court. We had a nice time playing tennis there. It is a charming place. I would stay there again. The only thing that I was disappointed in was that the hotel was further from the airport than I expected.

Flughafen ist 7US$ enfernt. Zimmer super geräumig und komfortabel. Der Pool sah super aus, jedoch sehr verschmutzt. Und das Steakhaus hatte am Sonntag schon um 20:00Uhr geschlossen. Das war eine grosse Enttäuschung, da wir unser Urlaubsabschiedsessen dort geplant hatten. Die Hotelbar hatte auch nur alte Snacks im Angebot. Also gut geschlafen, jedoch muss man sein Essen selber mitbringen. I der nahen Umgebung gab es auch kein vernünftiges Restaurant.

Etter tre uker i Costa Rica, var dette en god avsluttning. Hotellet imponerer med sitt design og fremstår som et rimelig fancy sted å bo. Frokosten på hotellet var kjempe bra, den tilhørende restauranten El Rodea Steak House anbefales på det sterkeste og det er bra, for det er ikke mye annet å velge imellom utenfor hotellets murer. Flyplassen er forholdsvis nære, og som de selv sier "Quite and relaxed, yet close to the airport", og det stemmer. Hotellet er tydelig pusset opp fra noe gammelt, noe som vasker, doer, dusj lider litt av, vi fikk tatt en halv dusj før kranen datt ut av veggen og vannet stod i alle kanter, og med en time satt av til dusj og frokost før avreise til flyplassen, så var det liten hjelp at de fikset dusjen på 10 minutter, men dåg bra service! Baseng og biljard bord har de også, fint uteområde med tennisbane og en liten lekeplass for barn ved restauranten.

Fint hotell, men inte så lätt att nå utan bil. Lugn och trivsam miljö. Vi stannade bara en natt eftersom vi skulle vidare söderut.
