The beds were comfortable and all but one front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. We stayed in room 21 and the stall shower was a tad small, I banged my head on the wall as I washed my hair. We moved the full length mirror from the bathroom to the main room so we had two places to get ready before leaving the room. The location was excellent, one block from the quiet end of Bourbon street, two blocks from the French market and about 4 blocks from Frenchman and the jazz clubs. They had complimentary coffee, but powdered creamer instead of real milk. They had a small refrigerator for the staff next to the coffee station which easily could've had real milk for the guests to use. They should either reduce the price a bit or offer a cocktail hour each night with wine and cheese and/or some danish in the morning to make the cost worth it. Overall it was nice but could have some minor improvements to increase the value of what you are paying for.

A true New Orleans French Quarter experience. Funky but homey and friendly.

I stayed at Ursaline back in 1996.. the renovations were a nice improvement. The place is away from the crazyness of Bourbon St, but not a bad walking distance. I'd stay at Urusaline again.

Nice place. The service wasn't great. There was no shampoo in our shower and we had to ask for it. Additionally, our key cards did not work. The front desk woman was unable to work the machine to get us replacements, so we had to leave and hope that another employee could work it. Luckily, that employee was able to help. With that said, it is a great location and the rooms were fine. We would surely stay there again.

The stay started with the front desk staff greeting us outside the hotel and helping my mother and I with our bags. She had the keys ready and helped us up to our room and got us settled. My mother is closing in on 70, and somehow the need for a handicapped room wasn't communicated to them, but the guests in the downstairs double-queen room agreed to switch the next day. The upstairs room was utterly charming - an L-shaped room with a fireplace and a window that looked out over Ursulines. The bathroom in both rooms were recently renovated with nice fixtures and covered in new marble tiles, and the beds were very comfortable. It was late when we got in, and she also recommended a nice neighborhood grocery, Verdi Marte, which provided an extremely satisfying sandwich for each of us. The downstairs room was spacious and comfortable. The courtyard and the rooms are very charming, the staff are very friendly and accomodating providing recommendatings and making reservations for us. The neighborhood is quiet and close to wonderful shops on Royal Street, and a nice stroll from the French Market and Cafe du Monde. For a leisurely morning, head down Ursulines to Croissant D'Or, right across Royal Street, grab some pasteries and some coffee from the hotel lobby and have a nice breakfast in the courtyard. The only criticism I had was that the cleaning staff would sometimes forget to put a liner in the wastebasket or give us more cups to replace the ones that they pitched.

The best things were the location, the friendliness of the staff and the extremely comfortable beds. The rating would be higher if the rooms were bigger. We would have preferred a little more space in our room. Our first room was, as my husband called it, a "cell" There was almost no light in the room even in broad daylight. I was claustrophobic and asked to be moved. The desk clerk kindly moved us to a room on the courtyard which was much brighter, but not much bigger. There was not even room for a chair, which makes it difficult to dress if you are used to sitting while, for example, putting on shoes or stockings.

The lights in the room were not working or really dim. We had to scramble our way in the night. TV was not working. We couldn't take a shower as the water pressure was too low. They did have muffins and coffee for breakfast but we just needed to get out as quickly as possible. The hotel is conveniently located close to the French market but condition of room was not up to the standard. Our 2nd hotel for a lesser price proved to be so much better than this one. More like a back packers motel.

This was quaint and we are always up for an adventure. But, the structure is greatly gally-whumpus, i.e. off kilter. It was very disorienting--we were not drinking (business) but felt drunk/hung over. We got sea sick and took days to shake it. As freqent visitors to the city, I feel sure we could have booked this poperty ourselves for much cheaper than we paid with hotels.com. But, an adventure.

Great location in the quarter but very poorly maintained rooms with little to no security on our room and no where to put larger valuables. The breakfast is poor and the person at the desk mostly unhelpful. The street noise was really bad and we didn't feel safe leaving anything in the room as the door on the street was previously broken and looked as though you could pull it open.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights. We booked through this site, but then stayed an extra night on our own and it makes sense to call the hotel and ask their rates unless they just gave us a discount for staying an extra night. They were very accommodating about letting us stay in the same room as they called the incoming guests and asked if it would be alright to change their room. Breakfast is a do it yourself affair at a little kitchenette but they have pots and pans and let you have access to a fridge and microwave, so you are able to prepare something aside from the cereal, muffins, toast, fruit and coffee/tea that are already set up. There is a tiny little courtyard that has been very pleasant to eat in and never over crowded. The rooms are quiet and clean. The staff has been very friendly and understanding and worked with us when we ended up having a few issues. You are smack next to Bourbon Street and Frenchman St. I would recommend you check out the latter if you are tired of the frat party that is Bourbon street, though both are a lot of fun. The location seemed very safe and it was easy to find all the touristy spots. There is no real street parking available, but they recommended a parking lot about a half mile away, where there is a actually a nice inexpensive place to eat called Mona's Cafe. Overall, I would absolutely recommend this place.

I sat in the courtyard one night and two rats ran in front of me. The hotel staff was EXCELLENT but the room really needed a good cleaning. I tried to remember it is an old, old building in the French Quarter.

There should be no surprises here. Great deal for the $$$. Wine & cheese each afternoon.

The only problem was that our room was up 2 narrow steep flights of stairs. This is not easily done if you're elderly and infirm. We would stay again as long as we could get a ground level room. The ambience is typical New Orleans, and the other guests were friendly and fun. The location was quiet, but close enough to the places we wanted to go.

Guest house is clearly a work in progress but we had so much fun and Bill the owner was an excellant host - would highly rate a visit .

we stayed one night, and it was one too many! i have stayed in my share of sketchy hotels, but this one may take the cake! i'm ok with small, older hotels as long as they're clean. our room was very dingy, there is a big hole in the wall, one of the beds tilts at about a 30 degree angle and was very lumpy. the bathroom was pretty scary--the toilet barely flushed, the shower was smaller than any i've ever seen (and i've been to europe!) and it looked like it hasn't seen a good scrubbing in a while. the worst part is, my friend saw a GIANT COCKROACH in the bathroom!! he did not tell us about it until the next morning, or i would have insisted on leaving immediately. apparently, it was the size of a hamster, no kidding. we couldn't get out of there fast enough! everyone was very friendly, and the place is very laid back, but i just cannot imagine going there again....

This is a great location but on the website they say SELF PARKING, It should say NO PARKING, you have to park 1/2 mile from hotel and YOU HAVE TO PAY $18.00 (12-24 Hrs.) They say wine & cheese at 6PM, we left to go out at 7:15 and still no wine or cheese. After 6 PM no front desk service until 8AM. This price was good if they included parking and I will probably not stay at this Hotel again. B.R, LA

The guest house owners could not have been kinder or more accomodating. However, the room and furnishings were very outdated and you almost felt like you were in a campground cabin. Bathroom sink did not drain well, heater did not work, but they brought us another portable one. It was just a lot rougher, more outdated, and not very quaint. Courtyard, hot tub, and the hospitality were great.

The staff was incredibly nice and helpful. They made us feel like we were part of the family and at home.

Tolle Lage, sehr gute Betten. Jacuzzi sehr viel benutzt. Sehr schöne Bäckerei in der nähe, wo man Früstücken konnte.

Nous avons séjourné 3 nuits dans cet hôtel dans la chambre N° 4 qui ne correspond absolument pas au descriptif :pas de fenêtre , pas de micro ondés, pas de frigo , pas de sèche cheveux, Petit déjeuner continental inexistant juste un distributeur de café dans la réception comme dans tous les hôtels où nous avons séjourné très déçus une seule qualité ,la situation . À déconseiller aux claustrophobes
