Cozy room. Breakfast coffee just outside room with chairs on bay! Great quiet relaxing atmosphere, Short ride to great Italian restaurant and the Bay Bistro for formal luxury dining overlooking the boats in the bay. The Edison and Ford winter home tour was very interesting historical insight into the history of the area. Really enjoyed our stay here.

Room was big fully furnished, comfortable, would stay again.

Like the closeness to the beach!

Nice staff. Great. Location as the rooms open out to poolside or a canal. Room was clean, good bed, kitchenette. Would stay there again.

The people that run the Dolphin Inn are absolutely lovely and you couldn't choose a better location - right across from the beach, and sitting on a gorgeous bay. The pool is very nice and there is ample parking. Unfortunately it's a bit old so the Air Conditioning unit was INCREDIBLY LOUD and kept me up all night. It didn't bother my husband as he's a better sleeper than I but I was tossing and turning for hours.

Very efficient room, smallest place I have ever stayed. No reason to be in the room, as the island is beautiful. 2 minute walk to gorgeous beach on Gulf of Mexico, and out my door was the bay. Owner of hotel called me by name and I was treated like family in this very small setting. If your planning to be in your room, this is not the place for you, however, if you need a place to crash while you enjoy the islands many benefits you should consider the Dolphin. It is at the south end of the Island away from the "Time Square" section. However, a 5 minute bike ride will get you to that area.

I grew up in florida in the 50s and have fond memories. The older building of the Dolphin Inn and surrounding 50s architecture reminded me of those days. Host was SUPER good in every way. Ready to go back!

We went on 2 different trips, would go again. But we bought a Co-Op nearby.

This place is terrific for a stay at Ft. Myers Beach. We had a poolside room which was great! It's right across the street from a huge white sandy beach. The owners and staff are excellent, we asked to borrow beach chairs and a cooler and it was no problem. They also gave us beach towels to borrow so we didn't have to even use the ones we brought. They have grills and plenty of tables and chairs for those who choose to eat in. We enjoyed watching the sunrise on the back bay. They also offered free use of their kayaksand have a dock for boats and jetskis. You can also fish right off their docks! Overall a GREAT PLACE TO STAY!!!

Had a great stay at the Dolphin Inn. Very friendly staff and felt like family. Easy walk to beach and 7-11 stores. Great for families. Thank you, we will be back.

Nothing fancy but nice and clean. We will go back to the Inn. Love the area lots to do and see.

It was so amazing i would gladly recommend to any one who is looking for plenty of room and quietness,I will be back next year. So Amazing.

Our second stay and still very happy with Dolphin Inn. Great view down the canal; great pool; great location near the beach, but away from the hustle & bustle of the commercial area so it was relaxing and quiet. After checking out and almost all the way home, realized I had left our checkbook in a drawer in the nightstand. Called the office and they immediately went and found the checkbook and promised to mail it to us that same day. Not only did they mail it but they sent it Priority Mail at their expense and in just 2 days I have it back. Very impressive. Highly recommended.

So nice. Reasonably priced. Old Florida style but completely comfortable, clean, bright, nicely decorated and all appliances and lights worked! Comfortable bed, fine shower. Great location on inner water. Woke up, took our coffee outside, sat, and watched the fish jump and a beautiful sunrise. The pool is large and clean. Beach right across the boulevard. Location is also close to good restaurants, shops and a stones throw to Sanibel and Captiva. Travis and his wife, five year owners of the hotel, were extremely pleasant and helpful. Thank you for a short, but wonderful stay. We'll be back!

Absolutely enjoyed our stay. Right across from the beach and we had a bay view room so we could watch the sunrise at one end of the day and watch it set at the other. The pool is gorgeous and inviting. Travis and his staff were very accommodating. We opted to get groceries and cook our meals. It was nice to have access to a grill but the kitchen could use some better utensils. We'd recommend to all. C an't beat the price, location and friendly atmosphere.

This is our second stay at Dolphin Inn Resort. We love the location and the beautiful pool and efficiency appartments. The owners Travis and Jennifer are such helpful, kind, positive people. We loved the warm, clean pool. The beds were comfortable also. We Loved our stay. Although some of the furnishings were a little older, they were extremely comfortable and clean. We will definitely stay here again next time we visit!

Very nice area, room was nice but they need new beds, obviously a very old one. Sheets were cheap, old with pill balls on them. Room was clean although the carpet could use a good cleaning. End of the busy season? Staff were friendly and I had a friend across the street at a timeshare so beach access wasn't an issue. I would stay there again

it is ok if you are in a tight budget and you want to enjoy fort myers beach. not bad for a couple of days. convenient location.

Loved this place, it was perfect for us, room on the pool, with a nice little kitchen, beach right across the street, free use of kyaks on a beautiful little inlet, where we cooked out on the grills and fished off their pier, swam on the pristine beach, went 10 minutes down the road to Lovers Key and got some nice shells and jumped in their beach, took an early 15 minute drive to sanibel and captiva and did some more shelling and swimming, saw some dolphins...the best part i would have to say was the wildlife reserve...go early, its a self drive through park but we kept bumping into this amazing woman guide who was so interesting and informative...as far as the inn is concerned Travis checked us in, answered about 5 questions a day, filled my tube with air, showed us how to work the grill and let my favovite cup sit on his desk where i left it at check in and after 4 days of looking for it, where i found it at check out...i have been looking for a place like this for years....and i hardly spent any money at all, bought food at publix, paid 5 and 8 and 6 for park, bridge and lovers key....and there is some much more i can't wait to go back...

This place was wonderful. My kids loved it and did not want to leave. It is across the street from the beach, it also have gulf access and offers kayaks to guests. The pool and grounds are immaculate. The staff is awesome. Near everything and far enough away from Fort Myers crowds.

i recently visited the fort meyers beach area and needed an affordable room with plenty of space for myself, fiancee and bestfriend and her husband, this was it. the owner Travis is an amazing guy very accomidating and willing to go that extra mile to make sure you have what you need. with this said this is not a 4 star some may not even consider it a 3 star however, it suited me fine it was clean and neat and had all the amenities i neeed and you couldnt ask for more for your money. i cant say enough about the owner he was available anytime you needed him. the pool is great plenty of lounge chairs table with umbrellas , pool toys for the kids. bikes to rent for $10 he has dvd's to use free of charge , grill's outside the room's to use for your use. Kayak's in the back. Remember great place to stay for your buck! thanks travis!! :)

Stayed in a bay room which had a wonderful view. Really enjoyed the lounge chairs and tables outside the room. The room was very small and a little uncomfortable so if you are looking for spaciousness this is not the hotel for you. The hotel offers free kayak use which was super convenient and fun. We took them out on the bay and went south, entered the gulf side, back up north and ended up carrying the kayaks across the street. The room was a little hot, so I recommend cranking the (noisy) air conditioning unit all the way down during hot months. Additionally I highly recommend renting scooters and taking a drive to Sanibel and Captiva!

I'd say this was the typical "mom & pop" beach hotel. I arrived late to find the office closed, but with a letter to me pinned on the sign. The owner had kept my room unlocked, with the keys inside (can't say I've ever seen that). Rooms were designed as small efficiencies, with range and sink, which did cramp the room some. Although the place was overall older and somewhat worn down, it was clean. Convenience to the beach is very good...just walk across the street directly to the beach. It appeared they had closets for beach gear to use at your leisure too. When I checked out in the morning, the owner/manager was extremely friendly, welcoming me to the area and hotel and gave great suggestions for breakfast. If you're looking for a place only to sleep at the beach, it's a good deal. If you want a little more comfort and room, you may want to look elsewhere.

Stayed at the Dolphin Inn for 3 nights , our second time there in the past few months . Owners . Travis and Jennifer are super nice , friendly and will help you with whatever you need . Swimming Pool excellent , large pool and very clean . It is not a fancy upscale hotel , but a clean and comfortable place . very reasonable rates for location . Will be returning soon . recommend to anyone .

The hotel is very conveniently located right across the road from the beach, which makes the beach accessible within 2 minutes. The rooms offer a full kitchen including microwave, oven, stove, fridge, etc. However, the best part are the two gas BBQ's which can be used for free in the hotel's backyard. It therewith offers cozy dinners with harbor view right in front of the room. There are also coin washing machines and dryers. The pool area is very well maintained and offers complimentary floaties and toys. There is free parking in front of the hotel and bikes available for rent. The hotel staff are very friendly, always with a smile and very helpful for all requests. Overall it's definitely an outstandingly well priced and well maintained hotel and we will stay there again on our next Fort Myers trip!

Great place to stay. Don't rate it too high too many people will find out about it and I won't be able to get a room, if you want a good time, meet great people this is the place to go

Stay away - very old and run down with small room

Very simple check in .friendly nice pool easy acess to beach .provided beach towels ,sand toys ,chairs to the beach . Very reasonable rates. Overall very good .will stay there again .

Wonderful non chain across from the beach. Faces bay where you can used their kayaks, watch manatees or watch the sun come up.

view on the bay is nice; pool is very nice; room was rather small; excellent if you want to meet other guests, less suited if you find privacy very important;

Stayed for 4 nights as part of our two week visit to Florida, couldn't fault the location of the hotel, directly opposite the nicest beach in Fort Myers. Friendly helpful staff and clean rooms and pool area. Our room looked out over the dock and perfect to sit and unwind after a hectic day on the beach!!! Thank you Travis for a wonderful stay. nice quaint small homey feel

Fantastic place to stay-the owner(travis) was one of the nicest and most accomidating persons you could ever meet. Clean and close to everything.

Hello, I stayed in this hotel during 2 nights last week-end. The service was very good! The hotel is very well located and with a great wiew on the canals! I really recommend this hotel!

There was a homey feel to the hotel. Travis couldn't have been nicer and the entire staff that we came into contact with were friendly. I'd stay there again.

Nothing really fancy but, really friendly and clean. It is located across the beach with easy access and really get neighborhood. Not in the heavy traffic area but, still a nice place to visit. Hope to stay here again sometime in the future.

This is a very friendly and clean establishment and the room was a good value. It's right across the street from the beach and the neighborhood is close enough to stores and restaurants but it's in a slightly quieter part of town. It's not the newest or best place in town, but it has a loose and casual vibe to it.

Great time staying at the dolphin inn! Rooms were nice and clean. Owners are nice and accomadating. Beach across the road but beach is long.Trolley stop right out front.

The Dolphin Inn is a place I would usually have overlooked. Yet it's evident from the first moment that the owners care about the comfort of their guests. From providing beach towels, to an immaculately clean room, to coming over and helping get the on-site gas grills started when we wanted to grill seafood at 8 p.m., they could not have been more accomodating. Yes, the Dolphin Inn is an older "traditional Florida" motel. But it's clean, comfortable, and convenient. And, having stayed in both an upscale, well known resort AND the Dolphin Inn on my recent trip to Florida, I have to say that my time at the Dolphin was much more enjoyable and relaxing. I WILL be back!
