Great location, great staff. Food options are limited and a little pricey for what you get. There are a few restaurants close by that are wonderful. Resort is a great getaway for couples. Not so great as a singles destination.

Great hotel, although not as fabulous as Hotel Kura Hulanda in Willemstad. Rooms were very clean and service overall was good. Staff was generally pleasant. Very close to great beaches and snorkeling, including one at the hotel. We like the pool as well. Complaints: They botched the dates of the reservation that they received from hotels.com, which was promptly corrected when I produced the hotels.com confirmation receipt with the correct dates (fortunately the room was available). Correction of minor problems in the room were not handled promptly, and required two requests (but then were promptly corrected). Cigarette smoke from the downstairs neighbor filled our second floor open air dining area / living room nightly.

While not blown away by the hotel room or amenities, my wife and I enjoyed our time at the Lodge Kura Hulanda due to its location and proximity to low-key beaches and its easy-going environment. The scuba shop located there catered to short schedule and gave me new equipment to use. The amenities provided the essentials with the bonus of a kitchenette. With the restaurant there providing poorly prepared food (great ingredients with bad preparation and high prices), we simply went to a supermarket down the road and prepared food ourselves and dined on the large balcony. Other amenities there included a fitness center (definitely good enough for a short visit), a great swimming pool, a sundry for insect repellent (a must), and a friendly and helpful front desk. With my rental vehicle, we were able to explore the other beaches around Westpunt and head to Willemstad. While the capital is an interesting and beautiful town, I was happy that I stayed in the mellow climate in Westpunt. Given what I know now about Curacao, I would absolutely stay the the Lodge Kura Hulanda again. I was seeking a true getaway, and that was successfully achieved.

Kura Hulanda lived up to all our expectations. The setting is beautiful and the room was spacious and nice. We travelled with our 10-month baby and she loved the lush surroundings full of lizards and geckos. The staff was very friendly and the beach wasn't croweded when we were there. Snorkelling can literally be done from the front porch. Would highly recommend this. A car is recommended since there are no grocery stores nearby and we cooked some of our meals using the kitchenette.

A beautiful luxury resort, room a bit smaal. Perfect pool/bar area. Friendly staff. Restaurant: food not very good... watery soup, dry fish for lunch, dinner was a little better

We had an oceanfront apartment on the first floor with balcony shower. Excellent apartment with first-rate services and conveniences. We stayed at various hotels around the island and we especially appreciated the service levels and quality of services provided. The restaurant is magnificent, (European prices but 5x the quality), the breakfast one of the better ones, the beach quiet and pleasant. The close proximity to grote and kleine Knip beaches is a real boon, as these two beaches are the real jems of the island. (10-15 mins down the road by car). The only possible negative point about this hotel is possibly that it is remote - but this can also be viewed as an advantage! The resident dive shop is very friendly and the house reef and local dive, Watamula and Alice in wonderland are among the best dives on the island.

Place was nice, but the staff didn`t know what to do. It didn`t matter what we asked, the answer was allways. I don`t know, came back tomorrow!!!??? Our room was very dirty when we get there, there was sand on the floor and they didn`t vacuum the carpets at all. They didn`t have change money at any register, so everytime we wanted to pay with cash, they allways asked that could you go and change it for yourselves at the frontdesk???

beds are horrible to sleep on if you have back problems, for that amount of money there is nothing included you have to rent pots and pans, house keeping is lousy they left dirty towels on our table,if you want to sit out side you can't because there is a horrible smell caused by the saptic tank irrigation water.

The General Manager Philip was excellent always available to the guests and answering all questions, He also was constantly checking all areas of the property to make sure all was fine. Ruth at the front desk always had a smile and was extremely helpful. It was a joy to pass through the lobby and get a warm hello from her. The food was above average for a hotel. Great Breakfast Buffet, Theme nights were nice and economical $25-$28. The location is a little out of the way and is perfect for those that want a quiet vacation . A lot of snorkeling and diving. Beach was full of rocks and coral in and out of the water. Beach shoes should be worn even in the water. A few good restaurants in the area (especially Sol Food and Landhuis Misje) Jaanchies is an experience. If you plan to see the island a car rental is the way to go. All in all it was an excellent place to relax.

Very nice resort! I loved my time there. However, one downside was the fact that many non-oceanfront rooms are far away from the lodge and beach. Also, there power went out once or two while we were there. Overall, I would still recommend it over all the other hotels in this price range! Much better to stay in Westpunt near the most beautiful beaches!

were a bit early and the room was not quite ready. So we went and had lunch and by the time we returned the room was ready. It was an ocean view room on the 2nd floor. Overall the room was fine with a very nifty kitchen contained in a cabinet (very cool) in the living room and the bed was in its own room separated by the bathroom. There was even an outdoor shower! There is lots of lush vegetation around the property, lots of harmless iguanas, and bugs. I would HIGHLY recommend that anyone who comes to this resort bring insect spray AND long pants to be used when eating at all of the restaurants since they are alfresco. The service at the hotel was very good with everyone trying very hard to please. The breakfast buffet was very good offering lots of choices, even lattes all at a very affordable price. Dinner was also good and I had ostrich one night at the recommendation of two of the servers. I must say that it was an excellent choice to my surprise. The beach is small and there is lots and lots of sharp coral. Bringing water shoes or firm slippers is a must. They are only required to get to the water. Once in the water it is heaven since the water was really warm and there was excellent snorkeling and diving. The only issue I had with the beach is that is is really small and there are NOT enough umbrellas (I think that I only saw four umbrellas). The talapas are shared so you need to be prepared to give up some of your personal space. You need to make sure to get to the beach fairly early to get a lounger or at least put your towel on one to reserve it. There was always an employee who was working the beach taking drink orders or providing free ice water. We also ate at the beach cafe (fried grouper) which was good. Check out was a bit slow since there was only one person at the front desk and while he was helping other guests who obviously had issues, this caused us to wait an unacceptable amount of time to check out. Overall this could be a five star property

Very nice comfortable stay. Beach is not the best, but the views and the staff were fabulous. Very nice pool, though not large. Great place to catch up on your reading. I didn't dive but it looks like a great place to dive. I was a bit disappointed that they don't have many outings from the hotel. Almost all the outings require you to go all the way back into town.

The staff was friendly, But charges came from nowhere and no one could explain them. BEWARE. We stayed a extra day so they wouldnt give us the food and beverage credit because they said it counted as a different stay. But for that side of the island its the best I saw. Food is very expencive for what you get. Rent a car. and do not eat at Jannsies (sp)

De Lodge Kura Kura op de westpunt in Curacao is een heerlijk hotel waar we een prima verblijf hebben gehad. Het hotel ligt erg rustig op de westpunt van het eiland en ziet er beeldschoon uit met een mooie beeldentuin, zwembad en restaurants met een geweldig uitzicht. De huisjes waar de kamers in liggen zien er aan de buitenkant erg aantrekkelijk uit. Het hotel heeft echter grote problemen met de vochthuishouding in het hotel waardoor de kamers sterk naar schimmel en vocht ruiken. Onze kleding en boeken b.v. voelden 's ochtends klam en vochtig aan. Door het vocht ruikt de kamer onaangenaam. Naast dit probleem moet ook de muggenplaag genoemd worden die dit hotel teisterde. Iedereen zat onder de bulten en de muggen reageerden nauwelijks op de anti-muggensprays die iedereen bij zich had. Het zwembad is echter prima, het strandje heerlijk. Het personeel is erg aardig en behulpzaam. De restaurants serveren goed eten. Al met al hebben we het toch heerlijk gehad.

O hotel possui uma boa estrutura, possuindo um ampla área verde. Encontra-se afastado do centro de Curacao, porém sua praia (Kalki) é excelente para mergulhadores. Com carro alugado, fica relativamente próximo das demais praias bonitas da ilha (Cas Abao, Port Marie Groot Knip).

PORTUGUÊS: O hotel fica afastado do centro da cidade, mas vale a pena conhecê-lo principalmente pelo conforto de suas intalações, pela beleza natural daquela área da ilha e pela bela praia em frente ao hotel, pela privacidade pois fica longe da agitação e não há tumulto na praia em frente, e pela comodidade dos serviços oferecidos pelo hotel (piscina, serviço de praia, academia, restaurantes de ótima qualidade). Além disso, há uma escola de mergulho ao lado. Mas mesmo para aqueles que não se interessam pelo mergulho a praia em frente ao hotel é muito boa para mergulho de snorkel. Para finalizar, fica a cinco minutos de uma das melhores praias da ilha (Kenepa Grandi - praia pública). ENGLISH: The hotel is away from downtown, but it is worth knowing it mainly for the comfort of their INSTALLATIONS, the natural beauty of the area of the island where the hotel is located and the beautiful beach opposite the hotel, the privacy of the place because it gets away from the hustle and there isn´t turmoil on the beach in front, and the convenience of the services offered by the hotel (pool, beach service, fitness center, restaurants of excellent quality). Moreover, there is a dive school next door. But even for those not interested in diving the beach in front of the hotel is very good for snorkeling. Finally, you arrive in one of the best beaches on the island (Kenepa Grandi - public beach) in just five minutes.

Fantastisk hotel, super med dykkerservicen, der bare fungerede.

Veldig fint hotell, ligger i rolige omgivelser på vestsiden av Curacao. Hotellet har gratis shuttle buss som går til Willemstad 2ganger om dagen om man vil på shopping eller gå på museum. Om man har sarte føtter bør man bruke strandsko på stranden, men det er ikke et "must", det er derimot myggsprayen da de er ganske ivrige til tider. Hotellets ansatte er hyggelige og har alltid tid til å slå av en prat. Dette gjelder også dykkersenteret Ocean Encounters West. Kan anbefales på det høyeste!

Från mottagendet till utcheckningen har vi varit imponerade. Vid incheckningen fick vi en guidad tur där vi fick reda hotellets olika restauranger, spa, osv. Hotellets läge är perfekt för resenärer som uppskattar lugn och ro. Det ligger ungefär 45 min. bilfärd från Willemstad. Det finns en buss som åker två ggr dagligen till systerhotellet i Willemstad. Det finns bara tre restauranger i närheten av hotellet (Jaanchie, Sol Food och Misjé), vilket innebär att man får räkna med att anlita hotellets restauranger. Maten är bra, dock har sitt pris. Priserna på hotellet är i USD, vilket vi tyckte var fel. Är man på antillerna ska lokalvalutan användas. Det finns än så länge en fast växelkurs mellan USD och NAF (1 USD = 1,77 NAF), så i och för sig spelar det inte så stor roll. Men det kommer troligen att ändras. Stranden intill hotellet blev tiiltygad efter orkanen Tomas, men jag skulle tro att det snart kommer att åtgärdas. Curacao är ytterst lämpad för dykning, pga att sydsidan av ön ligger i lä för passatvindarna. Vattnet är klart och det finns en hel del ställen där man kan dyka. Intill hotellet ligger en affär som kan ordna med dykning, certifikat osv.

Die Lage am Playa Kalki ist genial, selten findet man so schöne Korallengärten nur einen Meter unter der Wasseroberfläche. Das Hotel ist sehr gepflegt, die Bungalows liegen in einer grossen Parkanlage direkt über dem Cliff. Die Zimmer sind sehr schön, die Gartenrooms wo wir waren eher etwas auf der kleinen Seite, aber für die Zeit, die wir im Zimmer waren mehr als gross genug!
