I have stayed in many hotels in Rio for business and decided to stay next to the office this time for the sake of convenience. The location was handy and breakfast was included. It is also right next to the Cinelandia metro stop. The main negative for me was that they put me in a room next to the elevators and it was very loud. When I asked if they could move me, they said that they didn't have anymore standard rooms available. I could also hear the people above me taking showers. Very noisy. If you get a good room there, I'm sure it will be fine.

The Hotel is clean and services efficient. We enjoyed the free Buffet breakfast. The Hotel is in Financial District and it costs about 25 Rials to go to Copacabana by Taxi--The Cinelandia Metrostation is around the corner.

Loved the renovated room, very comforting! Situated close to the Metro which made my day of sightseeing in Rio easy. The breakfast was good. Thought the internet fee was a bit excessive but that could be the standard for Rio. Would stay again.

Well i went to brazil only for 4 days 2 in sao paulo and 2 in rio they both were rated the same BUT the one in sao paulo was a mess rooms dirty just horrible so when i fly upto rio for the next 2 days i was expecting the same BUT my god what a change it was a brilliant hotel very friendly staff that could speak english food was very very good great rooms and was able to keep the room for an extra few hours without paying which one does not get that often it close to alot of places to go and see and i would stay again if i was in rio keep up the good work :-) davepunx

I stay at this hotel every time I visit Rio. I love the location, the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms. I wish for a faster check in and out though.

Lovely hotel, the most beautiful roof deck, glass with bar and pool. Only problem was restaurant. Food was good but the english speaking waiter went out of his way to be rude about our language skills, then never returned. The other staff kindly helped us out by finding our bill.

The stay was good but it did not match the price I paid to stay there. The food was average, but their brightest point was their outstanding Front Desk staff, especially the Concierge.

Roof-top pool-side bar is amazing. The view of downtown as well. I've heard form the locals that you shouldnt be walking around alone as a foreigner in that neighborhood though.

Well located for Santos Dumont - domestic airport and clean.

this place works well. unassuming and reasonably priced. staff very friendly and helpful.

We ended up staying at this hotel for a week and liked it very much. The desk staff were excellent: friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and they spoke excellent English. Our deluxe room was clean, spacious, and had decent storage. We will probably stay there again and will see about getting the hotel's car service to pick us up at the airport. Internet was expensive at the daily rate. I finally figured out that it was much cheaper just to pay the minute-by minute rate. Breakfast is included (we did not know that at first) and was excellent every day with lots of fresh hot and cold foods. Fruit was fresh and sweet, and we had no problems at all with the yummy Brazilian food.

Everyone at this hotel was especially tuned in to customer service. We very much enjoyed our stay and expect to be back in the future. Our only concern was the charge for Internet service. The food, accommodations,and service were all excellent.

Friendly, Helpful staff, excellent location. Near metro, and business area of Rio. I would defintely stay here again.

I had a very good experience with the Windsor Asturias Hotel in Rio during my stay on 16-18 April 2011 (2 nights). The staff are awesome, very helpful and extremely friendly. The facilities of the hotel are above standard and everything is well maintained. The pool, though small is well kept and very clean. The breakfast is decent with a good variety of food to choose from. Although not in the center of town, there are interesting places near the hotel and many places to eat. I will definitely stay there again.

Friendly, helpful staff; clean room. Iffy locaton in Centro business section of Rio. Bums lounging in the side streets. Did feel reasonably safe but not very scenic. Close to museums and theater but best neighborhoods, restaurants and walking are closer to the beach. This review is provided by people in their 60s. Youg people would find this more acceptable and cost effective as well as close to Lapa were you can party all night.

Hotel is great for business. Nice, clean room and good service. Well located near downtown Rio. Very good value for your money.

The hotel was clean. Employees were very nice and accommodating. Location was close to downtown, and within walking distance from a 'plaza', great for eating and people watching. Also, for US Travelers, HSBC and Citibank were close by as well. The only complaint I have is that they don't have irons nor ironing boards for guests. You must use their Laundry service. That said, I was able to get a shirt pressed within 1 hour from when I called the concierge.

The hotel was mainly chosen for its proximity to everything in the city center vs. staying at the trendy Copacabana, Ipanema or Barra. It was a surprise to discover how good the hotel was (clean, modern, efficient) and how close to Rio's trendy Lapa, museums and beautiful historic colonial architecture (now occupied by many government entities), and not to forget, the Carioca's daily grind. There are many decent restaurant's in the area including the one at the hotel (there's a nice place for lunch accross the street on Rio Branco Ave. called Rio Brasa restaurant). The area around the hotel is Ok at night. The parks are nice and safe during the day but at night it's a different story.

AS we needed tobe clost to the US consulate for a visa interview, this was a perfect local. 3 blocks walking distance. Also this is close to museums, central library, theaters and business center. It was a nice clean hotel. Everything we needed the staff was very helpful and gracious. Although this is not in the safest part of the city, during the day there is alot of movement and you can walk freely. At night we were careful, but all of Brazil is like this. Anyway, it was over all a very good experience and I would certainly recommend this hotel and stay there again should the need arise.

This hotel was a good business hotel and conveniently located for my appointment. It is not close to tourist areas but there are several restaurants and banks in the areaa. The room was basic but the top floor terrace and bar provides great views of the city including the Christ The Redeemer statue.

Good downtown hotel. Near theater

The Windsor Asturias is not a particularly distinguished hotel, however it does provide a clean and relatively well-run hotel for a mid-budget traveller interested in staying in downtown Rio de Janeiro. This is not a beach hotel as it is located in a commercial area within walking distance of major corporate offices such as Petrobras. Around the corner is the Floriano square which draws a good lunch crowd in its several restaurants with a view of the Theatro Municipal. While you will not be bowled over by its decor or services, the hotel was priced right and met expectation without disappointment.

A fairly recently renovated hotel. Rooms comfortable, overall well-maintained. Within walking distance from Santos Dumont Airport, and right around the corner from the Teatro Municipal (which, in my case is why I chose to stay there). The neighborhood is not too dicey. They really lucked out on the view from the 22nd floor terrace, but it was rather smoggy the days I went up there -- not the hotel's fault, of course.

I chose this hotel after reading the overwhelming positive reviews. Much better value for money than on the beaches and convenient for an early flight departure but also close to interesting Rio. Only negative the salt comes in packets very similar to the sweetener and it makes the breakfast coffee tast terrible. I was a bit suspicious when I was bundled into what appeared to be a private car when I asked for a taxi to the airport. It seems that the vehicle is the Hotel "limo" (Honda Civic - small but comfortable, well driven and about the same price R$55 as a regular taxi. Overall good quality and the best value hotel that I have stayed at in Rio in 6 Visits

Located in the dreary drab Cinelândia district far removed from the famed Copacabana, Ipanema, Barra da Tijuca districts, you're certainly not going to perched in some trendsetting sun drenched beach paradise. What you do get is a solid, business hotel that has all the amenities and service that you would come to expect from an above average business hotel at affordable rates. The pros were that service is prompt and courteous, the rooms are always clean, the rooftop deck gives you a spectacular panoramic view of downtown, the swimming pool is adequate, wireless internet is available, and you get a lot of value for your money. The cons were that the restaurant was so-so, the gym was tiny and spartan in equipment, and it's in Cinelândia. All in all, I think I got a good deal out of my stay and that's all I can ask for. Is it a trendy, hip, scene-making hotel? Of course not, but it isn't pretentious, over-priced, and underwhelming either. This hotel reminds you that Rio is a big city, it's more than just Copacabana and Ipanema if you are willing to explore.

It was great surprise to see what a nice rooftop they have. Great view, really nice bar, sweaming pool and sauna.

dejeuner copieux, vue déplorable a 10 m d'un autre immeuble

ola, quero ver se realmente funciona , e se e' colocado os comentarios dos hspedes. restaurante muito bom, cafe , almoco. ar condicionado do quarto totalmente desregulado, ou frio em excesso ou calor. alguem deveria fazer manutencao e regular estes aparelhos.

Der nationale Flughafen Rios ist nur ein paar hundert Meter entfernt (trotzdem Taxi nehmen!), in der Umgebung ist die Einkaufszone des Stadtteils "Centro" und ein Teil des historischen Stadtkerns. Die Metrostation Cinelandia ist keine 100 Meter entfernt. Europäische Touristen bevorzugen Hotels in Copacabana oder Ipanema, nach Copacabana fährt aber die Metro direkt. Die Fuß-Strecke Hotel - Metro ist auch nachts sicher, das sonsige Umfeld nicht unbedingt (stand Nov. 2011).

Las intalaciones y ubicación son muy satisfactorias. El desayuno muy bueno y todo limpio, bien presentado, está cerquisima del subte, ese es un gran PLUS. Dos aspectos negativos: 1. me cambiaron de habitación, lo que es medio incómodo... 2. Me despertaron por error a las 3am... me asusté y deberían evitar esos malentendidos Lo MEJOR del hotel es el Sr. Thompson, siempre muy colaborador y disponible a ayudare y dar todas las indicaciones. Verdaderamente un gran profesional. Muy eficiente y amistoso. Gracias Thompson por su ayuda!!!

HOTEL MUITO NOVO, PERFEITO PRA QUEM VAI AO CONSULADO AMERICANO, DUAS QUADRAS DO HOTEL, UNICO PONTO NEGATIVO FOI A FALTA DE ESTACIONAMENTO NO HOTEL.

Fiquei bastante contente com a estadia de 2 dias neste hotel. O serviço foi muito bem prestado. Atendentes prestativos e atenciosos. Serviço de quarto bom e 24horas. Quarto bem decorado e vidros que eliminam quase que totalmente o ruido do centro ainda mais se estiver nos andares mais altos. Achei um bom custo-benefício, perto da Lapa e Sta tereza e acesso fácil às vias principais da região, apenas atentem-se se forem precisar dos carros indicados pela portaria pois os preços são fechados e até 50% mais caro que a corrida normal de taxi.

Gostei muito! Certamente, voltaria a me hospedar! A rede Windsor só me incomoda pelo fato de cobrar pelo uso da rede wi-fi.

O hotel e bom mais o atendimento de chegada e pessimo, as recepcionistas ficam perdidas e sao toalmente sem experiencia. Outro problema e que um hotel neste nivel deveria ter Internete gratis em todos os locais pois e um hotel para executivos.
