The Westin Monache Resort - ماموث ليكس

This hotel was very nice-until you had to deal with the front desk staff. The staff was the worst and acted like you owed them something... this includes the concierge staff. It was bad enough that we just started asking the cleaning staff and restaurant staff what to see instead of having to deal with their bad attitudes---it looked like it stemmed all from the manager. BAD-not just a little bad-but BAD. They also charged 25 dollars a night Resort Charges. The pool was broken, the hot tub was drained, the gym was being remodeled, the ski season was over, so no ski storage. The nice thing was that if you wanted a ride to the airport, the front desk staff would give you a look while you asked for it. Out of the 5 hotels we stayed at on this trip, this one was by far the worst but ranked right up there as the most expensive.

I had a lovely stay here - the staff were very friendly and helpful, and the resort was beautiful. I loved the room - it was spacious. had a fully equipped kitchenette, and a fireplace (and a window seat, perfect for curling up on to read a book). The bed was amazingly comfortable too, I have never slept so well. The resort is just across the road from the ski lift, and if you are here to ski this would be a great location. Mammoth Lakes is a ski resort town, so it was pretty quiet when we were there recently during low season, but that didn't bother us. It's quite close to the Tioga Pass (route 120) which passes through the Yosemite National Park, but this was still closed during our stay, so we had to drive back to the east side to get into the Park. We had a scenic drive though, and it was great to have the resort to get back to and the end of the day. Lovely for a getaway.

We loved the location. Obviously, it's an expensive place but you definitely get what you pay for. It's the best restaurant in town too I think. Be careful what the concierge recommends. After eating at the Whitebark, she sent us to the Whiskey Creek restaurant and the food was inedible. She has a tongue ring so maybe not the best food connoisseur. However, she did recommend the Inter tube Park, the Dog Sledding, and the 2 hour Snowmobile ride so all of these were awesome. It's an easy walk across the street to Mammoth but don't rent your equipment there. There's a much bigger selection across the street and you don't have to wait for service. Internet is slow, Verizon service doesn't work but I hear Verizon is trying to fix that.

A very nice hotel but a bit pricey really. The rooms were well designed. The kitchenette was perfect. We were tired and were able to pick up a few groceries and cook dinner instead of going out. This would be great if you were in the area for a few days skiing or hiking.

It was a beautiful hotel in a very nice location. The housekeeping staff did an excellent job. We went during off season so the hotel was virtually empty; however our room was the last room down a very long empty hallway. I also had requested, and paid for a room with a view, which we did not receive. The resort fee is outrageous!

Really liked the hotel, the fact that they allowed dogs AND the great location for meals, hikes etc.

Beautiful kitchen, fireplace, view, bedding, location. Loved it!

The hotel is great, clean and very comfortable. This could be an amazing place but the service personnel seemed to be quite demotivated and slow compared to other 4 and 5 star places we stayed at in California.

We had a wonderful time during our stay. We used the pool every day.We loved the mini kitchen. We made breakfast each morning. We also liked that the hotel was close to town and to the mountain.

This was a great stay, probably the best on our 3 week road trip The hotel seemed to have a lot of dogs staying, which we were less pleased with. Breakfast was good, and happy hour goood value. Excellent situation Rooms were clean and comfortable, and amenities good throughout

Stayed here for one night in May 2012 on the way from San Fran to Vegas. It was out of season so the hotel & town were very quiet, but the hotel staff were extremely welcoming, the suite was spacious, comfy and clean and the continental breakfast that we got with our booking was decent enough too. Would definitely recommend it and would happily stay again if we come back, especially during the ski season - though maybe not on the side that has the ski lift right outside the windows.

In snowy days room needs humidification.

From the description of the bed, it sounded cushy but ended up stiff as a board. The couch in the room felt like it was upholstered in fine steel wool. For some reason, only the slim overnight menu was available during the middle of the day. I decided to order a turkey sandwich but I guess they don't believe sandwiches need bread to considered a sandwich because I only got the fillings. The restaurant in the hotel is insanely overpriced for the quality.

This hotel facility was great. We had a deluxe suite with a soft comfy bed and an almost complete kitchen (which I didn't know about beforehand). The hotel bar and restaurant had great comfort food selections and attentive servers. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

Flawless hotel experience, but with all the hotels in the area I'll probably select another on the next visit to avoid the $108.00 resort fee.

What an amazing hotel. Beautiful room, wonderful service, fabulous neighborhood. I can't wait to come back to Mammoth Lakes, and I don't even ski! I stayed here for my 5th anniversary mini vacation and we stopped off at Bodi on the way there and of course through Yosemite on the way back. Definitely recommend this hotel as a mini paradise mountain break away from San Francisco! Also, they allow pets. However, if you don't bring a pet carrier, you won't be permitted to leave your pet alone in the room.

This was a beautiful hotel and we stayed there because our son and his family were staying there. That being said, it was a very expensive nights stay.

Was a typical Westin with great beds and service. The restaurant was also very good. Their Happy Hour menu was delicious and enough for a meal. Would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Even though the hotel was reasonablly new we found the staff to be uncooperative and at times rude. Were not willing to address any of our concerns that were raised with them. Would definitly not recommend the hotel to any of our friends.

Very comfortable hotel with nice ambiance. Underground parking structure is a little tight for parking.

we were only there 1 night but the hotel was excellent. There was no fee for dogs (we had 2) only a waiver to sign and even a complementary dog bed! the staff were really nice. If your dog loves to swim, check out Reds Lake (I think is the name) very quiet and right on the mountain. The hotel is in a perfect location and proximity to the village - which is also super dog friendly. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone wishing to take their furry friends with them.

the room was so nice, very cleah a great hotel stayn and the bed was just comfortable heaven. the view from my room was just amazing and just help make stay even better. Loved that bathroom had a stand up shower and a jacuzzi tub, with great soft towels. Will stay here for sure my next vacation in mammoth. No doubt great value for such a great hotel stay!!!

We had no hot water on Monday morning, 8/15/11. Upon our arrival, we notified them of some missing items that were listed as being there. They said no problem, and then charged us the day after we left. Restaurant was wonderful, facility was good and the location was a 10.

This hotel claims to be a Westin, but in fact they are only trading under the Westin name. So the standard is not that of a Westin - multiple plumbing problems, unhelpful staff. There are many other options in town, don't stay here if you want to avoid disappointment.

our stay was very comfortable and the staff couldnt have been more nice or helpful

We stayed 2 nights over a super busy weekend (Beer fest weekend or some such).The service level was super, amazing except for the 2nd night, in the bar. It was not busy, but it took 20 minutes to give our order, and then we could never get the waitress's attention after that. My spouse walked out, and I stood near the door, and finally the bar tender came over to give us our bill. If that hadn't happened, I would have listed the service as a 5. Other than that, the service was amazing. Perhaps most unexpected was the Concierge, Buck. Buck gave us loads of ideas for things to do, especially hiking ideas. We followed his recommendations for both days and had incredible experiences. I highly recommend using Buck. And, overall, this is the nicest hotel I have stayed at in Mammotth.. A great option if you want higher-end accomodations.

This was an unplanned visit and we found it online. The room was beautiful, comfortable and quiet. Perfect location to all ammenities, restaurants and shopping. Loved it and will come back again.

The place was excellent and the location could not be beat.

Everything about the Westin Monache was wonderful except for the lack of service around the pool. Never once saw a waiter/waitress from whom to order food/drinks. Other than that, great place to stay!

We stayed for three nights in July - over all we liked this place very much. It was easy to get to, well situated to the ski lift and the city village. Most conveniences were close by if not within walking distances. The staff was friendly and very helpful, including Buck who helped us find a great restaurant and the front desk staff. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The only complaint we had, was that they seemed to skimp on the body wash and moisturizer by our third day (we went through the small bottle in the first two days). Not sure if this is practice or a simple oversight. We really enjoyed the town and are already planning to go back - and when we do, we will stay here again.

For us this was a splurge for our vacation. We were very impressed. Requested quiet, cool room and our wishes were met. Upscale bathroom with inviting tub. Lock box large enough to hold camera gear plus...thank you! Very romantic, it was difficult to leave the comfort of our room but curiosity won and we explored the grounds. Nice pool but more kids than I would have expected for a Westin. To their credit, they were all well behaved and monitored by caring parents. Facilitiy displays nice touches of creative artwork throughout like a multitude of large candles lit in front of cedar blocks upon entry into lobby. Nice warm welcome. Quick check-in...step right up, even at 4 pm. Hanging river rocks above bar forced me to order another beer while I racked my head trying to figure it out. Being a Saturday, the village just across the street was hopping with a late afternoon summer concert. The band was very tasteful not some edgy loud banter. Lots of people young and old (like me) were dancing. Remarkably, you did not hear the music/noise inside the hotel. If you didn't see it you would not have even known it was going on. Resort fee seems like a rip at first, but it did include parking valet and some other useful ammenities. Great experience...plan to spend money.

This was the best hotel I have stayed at on my trip. Well worth the price and very competent staff. Near many shops & food, as well as having its own on the grounds. Worth every dollar spent!

everything was perfect... what more to say ? Don't buy what's in the room, instead, go to Vons... everything is there at 20% of the cost in the room !

I have stayed at many hotels in Mammoth--Best Western (view of a gas station), Juniper Lodge (no air conditioning, too hot, bad service), Shilo (Ugh), and this hotel is great. Check it out--nice outdoor pool, good restaurant, great beds.

We stayed in a Studio (2 adults, 2 kids)! The room was spacious, nicely decorated, the kitchenette was granite counter top. It was well stocked. It even had a measuring cup, cheese grader and blender. I am usually never happy with the first hotel room when we check in, but had no complaints here. The grout in the bathroom was extremely clean. Staff was courteous and the concierge was great. For once, I had absolutely NO Complaints about a hotel stay!

Great place. Simple as that. We took our dogs and it was perfect. Great Location.
