Dunes Inn Sunset - هوليوود

The Dunes Inn Hollywood is conveniently located to many of the attractions in Hollywood. Parking and wireless internet are free. Our room was clean and comfortable. The furnishings are a little dated, but the bathroom has been updated very nicely. We were very happy with our stay.

This property is great if you want to be close to the entertainment venues in Hollywood and aren't spending more than two nights. The lobby staff were courteous and very helpful. The downsides are the noisy surroundings (Sunset Blvd. in general) and our room was poorly ventilated. Other than that, I would stay there again.

The room had some updates, but the mattresses need replaced. It was clean and located close to the main attractions. Only downfall was no microwave in the room.

Nice enough for a quick stay. Close to Hollywood. Neighbourhood safe or so it seemed.

If you are looking for a place just to crash with no frills, this is your place. The hotel staff was pleasant and helpful. The room was small but very clean. We were only in the room at night to sleep and shower so it was perfect for us. It is very close to the 101 freeway and near the heart of all things Hollywood. We would stay here again, as long as it was just for sleeping. If you are looking for a resort style hotel, this is NOT the place for you.

Good hotel in nice condition for the area. Can be a bit noisy. Has lots of younger people staying thus lots of activity.

Don't stay at Dunes unless you plan on not sleeping. This place was party central on Saturday night, and I was kept awake until 4am. Even the next night wasn't much quieter, as the walls are paper thin. Also the restaurant/lounge is not open weekends??? Apparently even their own folks don't want to deal with the riff raff. Nice rooms, convenient location and decent price did not make up for all this. In fact, those are probably the reasons for all of it.

I loved this hotel. It is an old, inexpensive hotel but the staff was friendly (seemed like it is family-run) and the place was so clean! Improvements could be made to the bedding (thin sheets, comforter and pillows) but the updated bathroom and location to great attractions at an affordable price makes this a great place! I would return.

An older hotel that has been recently been updated including new bathrooms. All but the furnishings are in fresh condition. The furnishings certianly could stand to be replaced. All in all a good value.

First time here, read reviews and decided it was worth it. Great deal, super clean room, recently renovated, super nice staff, very knowleadgable of sorrounding areas, the guy propbably saved us money by giving us transportation advice. Free parkinig and wifi. Walking distance to metro, neighborhood is lively even late at night, sketchy people like all over LA. Would stay there many times. Highly recommend.

We were content with the stay, and the staff were friendly.but a drawback was that the restaurant next door, which was mentioned in the advertisement, was closed.

I'll give it two stars (one for parking and one because the room was relatively clean), but this place had me frustrated from the moment I checked in. They required a $100 hold on my credit card even though I had already paid for the room upfront. The restaurant/bar/lounge that they advertise (and one of the reasons I picked this particular hotel) is actually closed all weekend. The walls were incredibly thin; I hardly got any sleep because I was next to a room of drunken Australian men. There was also an ashtray outside of my non-smoking room, so people would congregate there to smoke. The blinds were actually shutters which did not close all the way, so lights and shadows were let into the room all night. The towels were tiny and worn. The tv channels were primarily in other languages, and the HBO they claim to have, came in fuzzy and hard to watch. And the heater would only blast warm air for 30 seconds about once every 20-30 minutes, so I had to take the blankets off the 2nd bed and use them on mine as well. If you want something better in the same price range, I preferred Hollywood Hotel (a little out of the way, but big, clean rooms and a free breakfast buffet) and Hollywood Celebrity Hotel (which is walking distance to all the action.)

The perfect motel to end our Route 66 trip. Vintage and on the route.

This stay was a really good one.. the hotel is located in the heart of hollywood.. a very convenient location. the owners are amazing, we got to meet them.. both are really friendly and very nice to talk with.. also the front desk was very helpful with us.

Good price in that area.

We needed a hotel for a single night. Booked this hotel quickly. Basic but ok. Location was central and good, restaurants were nearby. Room was basic but clean and hotel was fairly quiet. Their own bar and restaurant was closed but with coffee shops just down the road for breakfast that was no problem.

Low quality motel, which does not deserve to be on hotels.com list. I stayed in total of 4 hotels, through hotels.com, during this family trip. This was the worst. Smelly, small room. Also hotel seems to attract wrong sorts of people....definitely not the place to stay with family.

Me and my other half stayed for 2 nights, the hotel itself is ok, its clean and the staff are very accommodating, those are the only plus points. Now for the negatives.......the bed was uncomfortable, the walls were so thin in the rooms you felt like you were in the rooms with other guests as you could hear everything that went on, the hotel location is abit precarious, very close to "the hood" and we didnt feel very safe walking at night. Finally the value for money was awful, this was a very expensive hotel for what it was. If you are looking for a stop over for one night, then maybe this is a good place, but if you are looking for more than that, i would recommend another hotel.

Good clean rooms , close to all types of activities

Completely satisfied, friendly office guy.

I stayed in this hotel for one night in August 2012. It's in a busy and noisy part of town, and I asked for a room away from the street. The room I got was not as far toward the back as I had hoped but the windows were double-pane and I had no trouble sleeping. They could do more to remove gum and stains from the stairway and parking lot, but other than that it was O.K. Had a nice breakfast in the restaurant next door.

Nice clean place. Located in hollywood. Where everything is at anyway. Safe neighborhood . Good for family vacations.

Convenience location for fast food but, no pool

Hotel is next to the road and the traffic kept me up all night...

Room appeared to be clean when I walked in (bed was made, towels folded etc). However, sheets had an excessive amount of hairs ALL OVER them, the table was covered in dust and hair, trash can had garbage in it, and the toilet was dirty. Overall, I was thoroughly disgusted. I will never stay there again!!

I am very satisfied for my stayed at the Dunes Inn Sunset, is an excellent hotel, very clean, close to many amenities, near hollywood walk of fame, and lots of fun, very friendly staff both in reception and cleaning staff, 24 hour service ... definitely next time I will planning my next trip to Los Angeles I will not hesitate to book my room at Dunes Inn hotel. Thank You to Hotels.com agents to provide me assistance in my reservation. I definitely recommend Dunes Inn Sunset is a 100% quality. The only thing that I recommended is change the flat screen TV's on, that's the only thing missing to complete their excellence.

Overall the stay was ok. Check in was fast and easy however come check out time I was advised we should have been given a remote control for the TV which is what they use to check you in... getting the hotel to call a cab seemed to be an inconvenience to the clerk. Room was clean and conveniently close to Hollywood Bowl and Hollywood Blvd.

I have stayed many times in the past but had stopped because of the condition of the rooms. They recently remodeled and did a great job, everything was done first class. The only negative that they can not fix is the noise from Sunset Blvd but I will still stay there again now that they have fixed up the rooms.

The building was in a great location but not up to par to others in that area for the price. Room was ok, Id give it a 1 1/2 star. Wont stay there again.

This hotel is in 10 minutes of Universal Studio. that was excellent for us. I didn't like the smell in the room and I think that the price for the conditions of hotel is too high.

The motel-like property has undergone a makeover. The rooms have been gutted and updated with all new fixtures, power outlets, bathtubs, windows, tile in the bath on floor tile, floor coverings and air conditioners. The room was clean and quiet with no street noise evident. Parking was never a problem and complimentary. I would have liked a coffee maker in the room. I did not try the attached restaurant, but there are many close by on Sunset; and easy walk. If you need a new tool or two, Home Depot is right across the street. I will stay there again.

This hotel is great for a place to stay when visiting a local landmark. A place to lay your head for the night. The bathroom was clean and the hotel looks freshly painted and well maintained. It's not five start luxury but it does well for a quick overnight stay.

I When we stayed in this Hotel, it smells like a newly painted room. We understand that they are doing some renovations which is good. It's clean and I suggest that they should change the color of the bed cover, somethings nice, clean and looks classy. I suggest plain color.

It was fairly good, i was really worried about the area, but once i got there I felt perfectly fine leaving my car there. Both my friend and I had no problems with the hotel and the beds were AWESOME! But maybe a hangover helps that!

Basic no frills motel that is clean and does the job. Nothing fancy but for the price is was clean and better than a lot of cheap motels in the Hollywood area.

This hotel was undergoing renovations while we were staying but did not effect our stay. The rooms were fine, nothing fancy but clean and comfortable. Free parking is great if you have a car. We did not drive so had to rely on the subway to get around which was around 2 blocks away. It was not really close to the Hollywood Bld action, he caught the subway 2 stops to get into the heart of it. A number of food take away options within walking distance which was goos as well as the cafe at the hotel. I probably would stay at a hotel closer to Hollywood Bld if this was my first trip to Hollywood but we were there as a stop over back to Australia so it was good for the price.

The hotel is still undergoing renovation. Across the road can take bus about 6 to 10 mns to reach hardrock cafe. However, the street seems unsecure to me. So ended up we decided to drive. Parking is free at this motel however the street and garage parking are half an hour $2. Highland centre parking is slightly cheaper and if you ate at the hardrock cafe, you get to validate $2 off. We park there for 3 hours, parking cost us $4. The room is neat however we stay at ground floor, so been awaked up by the walking sound by the above floor people at 1 to 2am. Maybe is because the motel building structure is old. Free simple breakfast is good for us after a night stay. Consider quite good for the rate as nearby all motels are quite expensive.
