Cheap and basic motel, nice and friendly workers but not the most motivated. Breakfast even though" free" was a total let down. I came 20 minutes brfore end and what was left was overcooked, hard & tasteless. What too was "freshly" replaced after I replied arrived in the same condition from the kitchen. The scrambled eggs too clearly were from egg powder. Yuck!! No effort to replace or improve! Lastly the cleaners appeared to be present and working throughout whole day. Good place for a cheap base to stay to go elsewhere.

Great hotel with very comfy beds (better than all other major brands) Hotel staff are very nice and helpfull, it just lacked atmosphere but if you want a quiet stay with limited food range then this is the place

Stopped over on Easter Saturday en route to visting the in laws in Clacton, Also took in the local football match that day. Arrived early, chap on reception orignally wanted £15 to allow me to check. Thought that was a liberty, so left the bags in the car and ordered a couple of drinks. Oddly enough he checked me in a little later, as the room was ready. As I did not expect to check in early, it was no problem to me, I thought he was still very helpful, as when I asked about the best route tot he football ground, he produced a map and marked out the route for us. Clean and comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was pretty good and more than I expected for the price. Choice of hot and cold buffet style. Location was on the A120, so about 25min walk into town centre. Taxis can of course be ordered.

This hotel was an absolute pleasure, our room was very big, the shower was very big and the free breakfast was great. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone. I was expecting something very basic but it really surpassed expectations. The service was really good and it had a nice atmosphere in the bar. The room was clean and very comfortable. The only very small downside was the view of the road but it didn't matter really and we could not hear any traffic. Great value for money and will definitely stay again thank you!

Modern, clean and very well presented hotel, good big room and bathroom, good food in the restaurant at good prices & a good breakfast. Free wi-fi that works well. recommended as it is very good value for money.

Could not fault our room, service or friendliness of staff. Would definitely stay at again and would recommend to others We were upgraded for free to a family room which was lovely

Stayed with my husband for 1 night so that we could attend an event at the nearby Highbarn music venue. The staff are very welcoming and friendly, the rooms are spacious, clean and very comfortable with all of the amenities you would expect. Nice to be able to control the temperature in our room which you can't often do in modern hotels of this type. Also nice that the corridors weren't unbearably stuffy as is usually the case. A buffet breakfast was included in the price. Plenty of choice, both hot and cold, and all very tasty. All in all it is excellent value for money and we'd definitely stay again. The hotel is very easy to find but a bit on it's own out in the sticks. Would make a good base for touring the local area but you will have to drive to find any night life. There a pub about 5 minutes walk away but not much else.

We had stayed at this hotel before and decided to come back to stay again. It is close to Stansted airport and Colchester Zoo which were the reasons for staying, there is a shopping outlet and a retail park within 2 miles. Although this is 'Hampton by Hilton', it is what you would expect from a Hilton branded hotel, excellent reception, room, breakfast, a definate 5 stars from me!

I stayed there for my friends wedding which was at the Fenns, Braintree. Was a bit of a pain having to spend more money to get taxi there and back was cost us about £35 there and back. But room was nice, bathroom was clean, clean towels, hairdryer, iron and kettle all was available in my room - didnt have to ask at reception. Standard TV entertained in the morning. Breakfast was very good! Reception lady was very friendly and helpful. Only thing was there was a make up stain on one of my pillow and the hotel was a bit out of the way to get to. But overall loved the stay and would probably go to one nearer to where I'm going next time.

We stayed over for a wedding in Finchingfield a few miles away. very clean and comfortable. Breakfast area far too small for amount of guests and had to wait for place to sit , a soft chair with a low down table was not ideal but better than nothing. The staff did not replenish very often, we asked for teabags as they had run out and then went back for hot water...which had run out. Half empty plates where people had dished up and changed mind were not cleared away and food spillages were not attended to. Fruit juice in chiller was warm and need an additional toaster. Long queues for toast machine which you had to put in twice!! On speaking to the waitress the dishwasher had broken down and as it was a Sunday could not be reapired that day. I assume therefore that because they were doing the washing up by hand they did not have the resources to do the things mentioned above as well. Would stay again but hopefully the breakfast fiasco was a one off.......although the area is definitely too small fo the number of guests.

Lovely clean rooms and comfortable beds, perfect for using as a base or stopover for stansted. The breakfast is buffet style which is o.k and reflective in the price for value.

Highly recommended hotel Excellent location and close to the A120, only 10 minutes fron Stanstead Airport - assuming right time of day, otherwise A120 really busy, and can be gridlocked. Friendly and efficient staff, quick and easy check-in/out Have used before, and would use again

Spent Saturday night at this hotel after a lovely day at V festival. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean and well presented. Our room was immaculate. Will definately be returning to this hotel in the future. We cannot comment on the food as we wanted to get home so left early but it smelt lovely!

This is in a good location, easy access from major A road to Stanstead, Chelmsford etc. Rooms are well appointed and free wifi is a real bonus. Breakfast slightly better than HI Express but very small seating area for size of hotel. Nothing else near by unless you drive.

Perfect location near Stansted Airport, 20 mins by car. Very clean room, good breakfast, very friendly staff.

A really comfortable, well presented hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was bigger than I expected it to be. The breakfast was great considering it was free. What was there was lovely but it lacked sausages, tomatoes and mushrooms! We didn't eat there in the evening as we hadn't heard great things about the restaurant. Overall a lovely night's stay and I'll be booking again when I'm next in the area.

We stayed here following a family wedding at Fennes Estate. Lovely hotel, great rooms and staff very friendly and polite. For the price.....it exceeds expectation!

Stayed at the hotel for 3 nights. Great service, clean room, fair breakfast. Only weakness is that it's surrounded by freeways. 15 min. walk to the center of Braintree.

Lovely hotel, friendly staff, and very clean Rooms larger than the normal, and well appointed. Disappointing that there was no chef on the evening I arrived, so food was off; I had travelled 400 miles; however the following evening all was back on and perfect. Food was good, and as a mark of goodwill was on the house, because of the previous evening. Breakfast was also complimentary within the room rate. Could not ask for more 110% Would most definitely stay there again.

Very welcoming staff. Rooms are modern, clean and well maintained. A very enjoyable experience and would stay again.

A new hotel, room clean and comfortable, but meal and breakfast very basic

The staff were very welcoming and very helpful when we had a slight problem with the heating in the room. Shower could have done with a little better cleaning but overall it was very comfortable. There was a plentiful supply of hot and cold for breakfast though it would have been nice to have had Bacon on one of the mornings at least. Breakfast staff were very attentive and hot food was quickly replenished even though it was a very busy morning. Overall an excellent stay and would not hesitate in staying there again or recommending it to friends.

Remarkably good value & excellent friendly staff. Food is a little disappointing if you don't eat meat but there are other places to eat nearby. Unfortunately there was a screaming infant in the room next to mine for approx 3hrs, I know we should be tolerant but when you have to be at work at 6am that isn't really your no.1 priority. However having stayed again this week thankfully this appears to have been a one-off. Free breakfast from 6am is a real bonus & I would definitely recommend this hotel to other business travellers for convenience, location, cleanliness & service. Better than Premier or Travelodge with good attentive staff, warm & clean rooms & great bathrooms - I wish there were more hotels in this chain across the UK.

I use this hotel quite often. It is comfortable and the staff are friendly. The food is satisfactory if sometimes the menu is a bit simple with limited choice....but it is edible. When the hotel is busy you can often wait a while to be served at the bar which is also where you order your food. But if you want to eat out the Freeport centre is very close and has a wide range of restaurants and shops to choose from.

Very handy for Stansted Airport

My boyfriend and I booked this hotel because we had a stansted flight the next day at 7.00am and we needed to be up by 5am. Even though breakfast started at 6am, the staff said they would let the cook know in the morning and there would be cereals, croissants, toast, fruit, tea and coffee available to us. Which it was! The postcode sent our satnav into Braintree where we got lost so when we called the hotel, the very helpful receptionist remained on the phone until we arrived. She explained that because the hotel is so new, satnavs do not recognise it. It was brand spanking new, one of the best showers ever with good quality shampoo and conditioner. Had a flat screen TV, tea and coffee making facitilies and free wifi. Bed was comfy although the pillows were so new, they were too soft and puffy. If I ever have an early flight from stansted again, I will definitely stay again esp as it only takes 15mins to get to the airport.

The hotel was clean and pleasant to stay at. Reception were helpful and checking in and out was also smooth. We had pre-paid for our room and there wasn't any hic-ups with that. The rooms are spacious, clean and contain everything we needed for an overnight stay.

Staff very nice and helpful. Room was very good. Taxi was organised for us to get to a local wedding venue which was helpful. The hotel was a good location for the wedding and the taxi was not that expensive. An all around good experience.

Vi brugte hotellet udelukkende som overnatning inden afgang fra Stansted. Hotellet er fint og roligt, og der var god service fra Personalet.

Siisti ja hyvä hotelli kaikin puolin, navi ei vaan löytännyt perille osoitteen perusteella..!!
