Good location!

Hotel is very conveniently located in an old area and feels like a world apart from the surroundings. The lobby feels very oriented to the Casio customers and for those who looks for for a relax / comfortable setting might find the lobby a bit too energetic and gold-dish. However, the room won't disappoint. It is tastefully decorated, well equiped and clean, with a great view of the river and the south Macau. I would highly recommend this hotel to those who are looking for a comfortable and well located hotel.

Nice hotel. A little off the beaten track. Rooms are very nice. Good hotel facilities. Friendly helpful staff. Like most casinos in Macau, this one is very smokey and is mostly baccarat with a few blackjack tables.

Great hotel! They think of everything you'll need here and the building is modern, comfortable and stylish. Excellent service. They will always try and accommodate any requests (later check-out, things for the room) and helped us arranging transport to where we wanted to go. Location was not amongst main strip but stay here anyway - you won't be disappointed.

The hotel location is good, close to the famous tourist spot and the room is spacious. However, the first impression from the lobby is not so good due to its smell of cigarette. There is a taxi stand on the lobby level of the hotel and I waited more than an hour to get one in Sat afternoon. It is the longest waiting time I have ever had. The hotel staff tried to call more taxi but it proved to be unsuccessful. Choose one with a big casino is the only way you can get a taxi within reasonable time!

Beautiful room - large, very clean and comfy. Bath is beautiful, except shower temperature can mysteriously shift from hot to cold. Immediate neighbourhood is crummy, but it's a 8-minute walk to Senado Square. Free ferry shuttle, but no free airport shuttle. Free wifi. Overall - highly recommended.

Room is very clean & tidy. The bed is very comfortable to sleep.

Did not visit the Hotel Casino. Perhaps Hotel should consider a smoke-free Casino like the one in Grand Lisboa.

Good place to stay. The only problem being that its slightly far from the strip (5min drive) and ~15-20 mins walk... Taxi's were not much of an issue to get, except probably a couple of times. But then again, Taxis are an issue in all of Macau, unless you wanna go to a massage parlor of their choice. Would have preferred to have stayed at the strip, but for anyone looking for a slightly more chilled out trip this one is quite good. There is a Circle K right next door, but 7-11 is quite far and Circle K has only beer, no other alcohol. Very good service... Quick response time, though sometimes communicating in English can get to you slightly. If you have any problem with Room Service, ask for RONALD (he's Indonesian and speak very good English). He was helpful and knew quite a few interesting places to head to at 3 at night...

The hotel is in a good location. Walking distance to through tourism place. Staff of the hotel are very friendly.

They need to improve air ventillation system as the smokes form games are unbearable. But upstairs in room is like heaven!

The hotel is overall great and the location is conveniently close to historic sites, reached easily just by walking as well as Macau centre big casino hotels. Casino at Ponte 16 is still small and for shopping you need to go into centre or the megacasino resorts in Taipa, since Ponte 16 resort has not been completed yet.

It's a very clean and good hotel. Very comfortable and the staff were very helpful. Is accessible to all part of Macau. The food in the hotel was very good and the price was very reasonable.

We stayed for two nights which was a fantastic change from Venetian hotel. The location was excellent, staff were very professional but most of all Sofitel was away from those big Casinos so if you are not a gambler , this is a perfect hotel. We really enjoyed our stay and very happy to recommend.

The hotel offered amazing service every stage of our stay from the minute of our arrival to the minute before our departure. We also enjoyed the room immensely and the facilities. We would recommend this to anyone in a heartbeat. It is also very close to the historical part of the town. The hotel is located in a low income area of the city.

our experience at the Sofitel exceeded our expectations and was a most enjoyable experience - the additional upgrade that we took certainly was well worth it - a great overnight experience that we hope to do again

nice service nice room nice food ................ strongly recommend

Its location is very close to most of the historic sights in Macau. Many of the new big hotelsand casinos are located on the other side of Macau, but onecan easily take the shuttle bus that goes to the ferry terminal and connect to practically everywhere in Macau. for free! Local buses also stop right in front of the hotel.. Hotel staff are very courteous and accomodating. The rooms are well furnished and beautiful, and not cramped. For those who prefer to relax, most of the rooms have a nice view that overlooks the river, and a big-sized swimming pool.

My room was perfectly prepared. I've managed hotels and was very impressed with the like-new condition. Everything was thoughtfully designed; much of it custom made to US standards (I travel a lot in China for business now). The public spaces were nice enough. This location is good for cultural attractions but away from the other casinos making the gaming room a place for locals. It was the least attractive space in the hotel and yet the best entertainment. I sat at the bar and watched the hushed action at the gaming tables nursing a vodka and soda. The staff here are well trained and speak EXCELLENT English. The service was much better than my last stay in Macau at Wynn. If the neighborhood works for you, it's a great choice. The type of room you'd get on "the strip" at 20-25% less.

The Sofitel in Macau is located near the Historical Quarter. If you are more interested in the historical aspects of the area, then this is the hotel for you. We booked a superior room (the basic available) and it was fabulous - roomy, well appointed and with a brilliant bathroom including L'Occitane products. It does have some gaming rooms but nothing of the calibre of the other big Casinos which are located across the river. The only issue we had, which was not the hotel's fault, is that on arrival at the Macau (Taipa Temporary Ferry Terminal), Sofitel did not have a courtesy bus pick up. We asked a number of other hotel bus services for help to get to the hotel and they did not even recognise the name of the hotel. Perplexed, we got into a taxi and told the driver, who spoke English, that we wanted to go to the Sofitel. He also did not recognise the name but when I pointed to the advertising poster he had on display in the taxi, he told me it was the Sfittle (phonetic pronunciation). No wonder we had a problem.

This Hotel is what all hotels should be like, I do travel a lot all I can say; my stay at Sofitel was an experience a complete comfort cleanliness and friendly staff. The only drawback "SMOKING SMELL" in the lobby etc. otherwise A+ Hotel.

I came to Macau to see the city and try my skills in the casinos, but what made this stay unforgettable was the three days I had on the Sofitel Ponte 16. The hotel has absolute top service and a great pool area which is perfect for relaxing after a day of sightseeing or a long night in the casinos. If you only come to gamble, you might find hotels situated better, but if you also come to relax and explore the old city center, Sofitel should be your choice. I will come again.

Outstanding room view of the river. First class accommodations at a great price. Close to many of the sites, nice casino on premises and I would definitely stay here again.

We thouroughly enjoyed our stay at the Sofitel Macau. Everywhere in this hotel is first class. From the lobby, hallways, restauants, pool, and rooms, the design and ambience is impeccable. The staff is extremely accommodating and responsive. We were offered the upgrade to the executive level and believe us it is well worth the price. Breakfast and Happy Hour are served with personal and attentitive attention.

Hotel stay was great in all aspects... the only bad point was no complimentary internet for those who did not choose Club rooms (higher end and more expensive). Given the pervasiveness of internet and wifi, it shd have been made available to all hotel guests...

This hotel is vy nice...i like their service. We requested for connecting room and they try their best to our request. at the end, we got upgraded bcos of the connecting room.

Lovely experience within walking distance of old Portugese area.Rooms very well appointed & service excellent.Food in bar & at breakfast good

The beds are extremely comfortable, and the hotel is within convenient walking distance of Senado Square (about 5-10 minutes). Cleaning takes place so frequently throughout the day that no matter what time you leave the room, you always return to a spotless environment. The only grouse I have is with regard to the charge of MOP160 for internet access. So many other hotels (even small guesthouses) around the world are already providing free wifi!

Brilliant hotel. Very clean and rooms were gorgeous. Staff were extremely helpful and food was excellent. Within walking distance to casinos, the rest are a short taxi ride away (taxis are dirt cheap). Free shuttle bus every 15mins to ferry terminal. Loved this hotel. Would highly recommend it.

We were very satisfied with the hotel. The service was excellent. The hotel staff were very courteous and willing to address any of our questions and concerns. The condition of the hotel and our room were both excellent. Very comfortable beds. The hotel is located within a walking distance of the historic sites on the Macau Peninsula. Restaurants and casinos are located a short cab ride away. The hotel itself is located in a somewhat dingy neighborhood, but we never felt unsafe walking around during the day or at night. Don't let the surrounding neighborhood deter you from staying at this great hotel.

Hotel was amazing - every detail was in place. The room was spectacular. Pool was incredible. Easy to walk to the Macau sights from hotel as well. Highly recommend. Also free shuttle to/from ferry terminal is an added bonus.
