We used the hotel as a one night lay over on the way to New Orleans. The only thing missing was more information on the town, local restaurants. Shame there is no bar. The rooms are huge and what a bath!!! All in all a great find

Nice location.However, the air conditioner is loud and the walls are thin. exercise room is much to be desired.

Big disappointment. Hotel is not "tired", its downright shabby. We found men's underware in the drawer, old crackers behind the bedside table, and torn curtains and torn towels. The a/c did not work until we called maintenance to repair. People were nice but that could not overcome the dumpy facility. There is no housekeeping during the weekend---that was a surprise when we returned to our room late Saturday night. And there was no advisory or notice in the room or when we registered. Bottom line, I would not stay there unless it goes under a major renovation.

Quaint nice hotel. The service was great and very helpful setting up for a birthday surprise. Thanks to Candace and Andrew!!

A great, quiet hotel with walking distance options for food/drinks. Try the absinthe cocktails at Pamplona.

Very cosy, very homey, very large clean rooms, very well furnished, no armchair though, and many lamps but all too week for reading. Lots of electrical outlets but some don't work, check before you think you will have a fully loaded computer in the morning. Wifi bad, you are being disconnectid all the time. Bathtub big enough for two but dangerously slippery; standing on a towel while showering solves the problem. Water pressure great. Pool next to a parking lot and without reclining chairs. A/C so noisy we couldn't use it at night. Thin walls, very noisy pipes. No grocery store on walking distance. Lots of good restaurants a half mile down Jefferson, lunches 5-10 $, dinners from 15 $, several good breakfast places as well. Janice at the front desk knows every restaurant and their menues, also the fancy ones. Distaces by foot: one mile to Amtrak, two minutes to Baptist church, three minutes to liberal (?) synagogue, four minutes to Blue Moon with Cajun concerts. Bus stop right outside the hotel. But bus to Vermillionville one mile away.

i've noticed when i book a hotel through hotel .com i often end up in a room in the least convenient location. despite a very slow night, this happend again. plus several items, ( shower floor mat, pen, writing pad, were missing from room and air conditioner was not working. room was large/comfortable and hotel is clean and convenient though. night staff helpful about recommendations. layfayette was a very pleasant surprise. quite sophisticated for a relatively small town. lot s of restaurant/club choices and very nice people.

Nice first impression, but disappointing overall. Pros: downtown location was good for me, room was large with pleasant initial appearance, relatively clean. Cons: lighting was insufficient to read even with all lights on (low watts), old AC worked but was so loud I couldn't sleep with it on, mini frig didn't work, toilet backed up, no hair dryer or clock, only two hangers in closet, room cleaning always missed something (e.g. replenishing tissues or replacing bath mat), TV cable service was interrupted for a day (ok, cable co could be the problem there). Combined effect was disappointing. Would stay elsewhere on next visit to Lafayette.

The hotel was very nice. My wife and I loved it. I would stay here again.

The hotel is in the newly resurrected downtown which is beaming with life after dark. wlaking distance to wonderful restaurants with Cajun bands playing. The hotel rooms are huge, free internet is available in the small business center. I will stay there again, wonderful boutique hotel. The Acadiana Arts Center is just down the street as well as other art galleries.

The hotel really is beautiful and very conveniently located. Unfortunately this was overshadowed by some major problems. First, our room smelled bad - like mildew or pet odor. Second, it was FREEZING. The room remained at 63 degrees no matter how we adjusted the thermostat. This was during the winter, mind you. Finally, our refrigerator was not working - a fact we unfortunately did not discover until the next morning after we had stored our leftovers from dinner overnight. The staff was very friendly and like I said - gorgeous hotel. Just wished our stay had been a bit more comfortable. Hopefully our experience was not typical, but we're not eager to give it another try anytime soon.

I was very disappointed with this hotel, it is in down town across the street from a down trodden bar. We got in late and upon check in the desk associate said we hadn't paid, I explained to him we already paid through hotels.com, well we ended up standing there for 30+ minutes while he was "figuring" it out, he charged my card 4 times and more temporary authorizations. Then calls the room and asks me to come back down to sign more forms. I contacted the manager he said to call my credit card company and file a claim so then he can explain it to them, not like he couldn't just remove the charges. The room it self was nice, they have a large tub, the furniture is a mix of newer and older items.

I stay in Lafayette once a month and wouldnt dare of staying anywheres else!
