ZZTERMTHE RETREAT BY ZURI - غوا (ولاية)

We were allocated ground floor rooms which were dark. and changed to 1st and 2nd level rooms (brighter and open). We would have liked to be offered pick-up from the airport at no extra chrage. Zuri provided this in the past. The food and general ambience was good. We had a pleasant stay, although noticed some what lower level of service under the new management!

My trip was really good in GOA. Especially the Hotel is a very nice place to have a private and pleasant stay.It is located in the South of the GOA city.You will get the clean and best beaches nearby the hotel itself.

Very nice suite hotel .. Lovely layout ... Portuguese style.. Rooms on the ground floor open out to lawns .. Very good idea to stay with family .. Beach is a walk away or can use the zuri white sands beach .. Shacks are on the beach if you want fresh catch of the day and chilled beer The food is not 5 star quality but decent though a bit overpriced considering the quality ... The property attracts lots of Russian tourists .. Pool is average size but the pool at the white sands is excellent.. Had a great time there .. Staff was helpful... Recommended as a great value for money

when i checked in i got the first impression that the reception stafff seemed a bit aggressive as we had kids with us and had a long journey and they demanded our passports there and then which were actually packed in the bag, i left india a long time ago but my last job in india was i was front office manager of a 4 star hotel in baroda so i have a little back ground knowledge how things should be and i held the position for 5 years Kiran

Not really what we expected. Roomed hardly cleaned when we arrived, had to call for towels EVERY day. Standard far from 4 star. Otherwise was the location very good and the beach was beatiful... Staff friendly and helpful but unfortunately not very competent...

Removed from the main hustle and bustle of the commercial beaches, Hotel is located on excellent , clean and quiet Varca beach. Our suites were very spacious, with balconies and terraces. The inside compound, landscape provides a very relaxing enjoyable environment. Free shuttle bus provided to the White sand beach, or a 10 min walk to the public Varca beach experiences were delightful. The staff and reception desk were extremely helpful. The manager is genuinely customer care oriented. The restaurants, outside cafe, gym were very enjoyable. We are definitely very pleased with the hotel.

It is very nicely located hotel , cleanness is excellent , it is well maintained , rooms are well maintained ,food is good , location is fantastic but one thing they must improve is service to room , i will recommend this hotel ashok Tyagi

Stayed at the Retreat recently. Overall, it is a great place. Rooms are clean and spacious, restaurant is great, specially the breakfast buffet. Pool is nice. Close to most places in South Goa (you need a car though). The only complaint I have is that the service did not befit the overall quality of the hotel. Not enough towels and had to call 4 times to get the towels. Shower and sink in one bathroom not working (they did fix it in one call though). No extra sheets for the sofa bed. Had to wait upto 1 hour for the shuttle to white sands (after being told by the hotel desk that we will be on the shuttle in 5 mins). Overall, though, these things are easily fixable and the staff had good attitude. I would recommend this place for families.

Had a wonderful holiday as the hotel is very relaxed and comfortable with good value for money. I would definitely recommend this resort.

We had an awesome stay at The Retreat by Zuri. The service was excellent, and the hotel was close to quite a few beaches. Good place to unwind and relax. Frequent shuttle services to Zuri white sands is an added benefit. Looking forward to staying here again.

Exquisite ambiance that made us relive and get rejuvenated.

Good hotel and very nice ambience service is unhurried and can be irksome at first but after 2 days you get to slow downnnn yourself!!!!! bad closed shop on taxis and not possible to get private hire firms to operate here - this may orove to be a problem

It was wonderful staying there. Very good location , not far from the madgaon bus-stand. You can go near by beaches with easy access . Very clean beach , for family i would recommend 100% nice place .

A pleasant, peaceful, well maintained hotel, with friendly service. The best thing about it is the spaciousness of the "suite rooms". Two rooms, two televisions and two bathrooms / showers - great for families. Our rooms though were in a part of the property overlooking a facilities area - so there was no view. There are several rooms with a view, though. The hotel is a kilometer from the beach, so a challenge if you don't have a vehicle or can't walk the distance (pleasant walk). The area around the pool is clean, but basic. The pool is shallow - not really for serious swimmers, but great for kids.

We spent 4 nights at the Retreat by Zuri.. The suite room was excellent and very spacious. One can use the facilities at the bigger beach front Zuri White sands which is closeby..the beach is beautiful..white sands and clear water. We got a very good deal at Hotels.com.. highly recommended ..the only issue is the taxis outside th hotel are to pricey..almost like extortion!! its better u immediately hire a car from Colva and never use the taxi.. u can also negotiate with the car rental guy to drop u at the airport or staion on the last day of ur stay.

Stay at Retreat was quite pleasant. It is definitely worth money you spend. Property is quite specious. Swimming pool, court yard garden and back lawns make the layout very much unique. Less crowded (lonely) white sand 'Verca Beach' is just 0.5 km from hotel. It is prefect destination who wants to spend time on beach without any disturbance. It is almost like private beach for you! Obviously do not expect any activities on beach such as food joints, water sport etc on Verca beach. You may find it little bite difficult to find out this hotel if you are reaching in evening. Some of the direction boards are missing on key turns. I will strongly recommend using Google Map to study the root in advance if you are planning to reach hotel on your own. Actually hotel management should consider giving direction map in advance to guest via email to make it convenient to reach hotel. Considering location of hotel in south Goa which is far away from all tourist attractions such as Old Goa churches, River cruise, Temples etc, you need to travel at least 100 Km to cover all these places to visit in Goa which will be additional cost and time you spend during your stay in Goa. However it you are not first timer in Goa and interested in enjoying nature and sea, strongly recommend to select hotel in south Goa and Retreat is prefect choice.

This hotel is around 55 kms from Panji which is the biggest drawback for those people who are going first time. Hotel good, amentities are excellent but no shop, no restaurent outside which can kill you. If you are travelling with your own CAR, I will strictly suggest to not go into in this hotel because there is no mechanic in surroundings and hotel will not provide you one or even the contact of any mechanic. If you want to enjoy the hotel, stay here and if you want to enjoy GOA, go and stay in north Goa. I have killed my 3 days because my CAR met with an accident and there was no mechanic nearby.

After traveling 4 almost 9 hrs from mum-goa, i wanted to reac h the hotel some rest. It took almost 1 and half hr to reach the hotel. But to my surprise the hotel was just great, the suite was excellent., Just after entering the room all t he tiredness had disappeared and we had lovely dinner at their restaurant. The stay was refreshing.

Excellent place to stay..lovely hotel. Would recommend this hotel everytime I want to visit Goa. Only thing is just its a bit interior..but 5 on 5 when comes to hotel rating.

We stayed for 3 days and the stay was very good. Only remark is very far from Goa happenings and need to travel for 50kms for any site seeing.

I was there with my wife we had a nice time over there . The only thing was its in the south of goa and everything in goa is almost in north so to go to north from there is almost 30k and not worth so if wanna to have a nice stay in cool and calm weather then its the best place to go

Great rooms,good location,good services,proximity to one of the cleanest beaches in Goa (Varca beach)....the restaurant services were good with a good selection of la carte and great breakfast buffet ,good spa ,the swimming pool was small though...great value for money overall...would definately recommend to others..

Overall the stay at the hotel was good, however I must add that its too interior and besides there is no other mode of conveyance (local buses/autos) other than the taxis parked outside of the hotel and for this very fact it makes it extremely convenient for the drivers to demand a very high fare even if the distance is of a 5 km range (min fare is nothing less than 550), its like daylight robbery.. Secondly I think the front office needs to be trained on how to be friendly,courteous & helpful to customers staying in- it appeared as though they were just there to do their jobs and were least bothered about guest's satisfaction.

Retreat is spacious and rooms are big. But plumbing is a major problem. We booked 2 suites, which had 4 toilets and clogging was a problem in all the 4 bathrooms. We also had to change our room because one of the bathrooms had major water overflow issue. The sheets/ towels etc. were clean. Food was expensive and portions are VERY small. The staff are courteaous and tries to help to the best of their ability. But being a hotel in South Goa, taxicabs are a menace. The Taxi Unions charge exhorbitant rates!

My wife and I had a short stay at The Retreat Zuri and found it a nice and quiet place to wind down. Friendly staff, peaceful location and lots of space. Breakfast service was good and staff very helpful. Monsoon time best to visit as prices are cheap.

It was quite a good stay at The Retreat. Good location, Good Anbience and cleanliness. However, there is a need to improve upon the taste of food served in the hotel. Overall quite good and staisfcatory experience to stay in this Hotel.

This is a beautiful resort with friendly, helpful staff. We extended our stay because we did not want to leave.

Good things first: The suite rooms are just second to none, awesome value for the price paid, very adequately equipped. The quality and taste of food (we are vegetarians) is nice and authentic, with good spread in both breakfast as well as buffets. The service is quite prompt, whether it be for some special requests, like we had an infant travelling with us and had quite a few special requests every now and then, that were promptly served. The free shuttle to their 5 star "White Sands" property nearby and the complimentary use of the pool, beach and casino there, added a lot of value to the stay. Its time for those not so good things now: Well not many and not any that would make me fear recommending anyone not to stay with the Retreat, but still here they are: The reception/travel desk can be better equipped with knowledge of places to see around, they were quite clueless when it came to recommending must see/must visit places. The consistency of service quality needs to be maintained by the Retreat. By saying this I want to draw attention to plain things like cleanliness (replacement of towels/bedsheets/cleaning used coffee mugs) not being done in same way on the second day of our stay, as on the first day. All in all, a wonderful stay, quite a value at the deal price that we got. I recommend it most for families with kids, else its nice place for stay by anyone :)

Food was not up to the standard. I think due to off season certain food items were roll over from previous days and not fresh.

Hi all; Just returned from the trip to goa.Stayed at Zuri retreat.The Hotel is better than i expected .Its true to the pictures posted in the site.good food,nice facilities.the only downside is its far from the city and there are no shops,bus stands or autoricks so rented car becomes a must .there are few cabs standing outside but they will ask for 3triple the fare .zuri white sands is nearby and is also very good.Bottomline if u want to enjoy hot and happening goa this is not the place as you have to travel atleast 1 hr to get some place worthwhile. overall i might go there for a nice relaxing experience at a very affordable price .Its true value for money.

Zuri beach is awesome.....we can enjoy privacy...

All fine abt the hotel but would suggest a live band n some music to compliment the stay since the hotel is away from the main land.
