Hotel is located on north side of town so alow a few extra minute for tyravel ifd going to the caverns , Police cars are plentiful so watch your speed !!!

the hotel is on the wrong end of town , if you are goning to the cave. the main street is tore up which makes the trip to the cave longer yet.

We were very impressed with this hotel from the time we checked in. The hotel clerk was very nice and helpful. The room was very clean and the beds were COMFORTABLE! GREAT NIGHTS SLEEP! We had a small refridgerator, microwave, and free wifi! There was ample parking with good lighting. There are several nice places to eat close to the hotel. We would recommend this hotel with 5 stars!!!!!!

The hotel was good and the staff were fine (we didn't really have much to do with them apart from at check-in). We were visiting the Carlsbad Caverns and the hotel was at the wrong end of town for the Caverns, most of the restaurants and food shops - there were some fast food outlets nearby (MacDonalds, Subway etc). Most restaurants seem to close on Sundays so if that's when you're in Carlsbad you may have to make do with a Domino's delivery or a hamburger etc from one of the chains.

Clean and nice. Might be a mile away from the city center, but Carlsbad is so small we didn't care. The guy at the reception desk recommended a steak house that really was superb. We do recommend this hotel, and will come here again when visiting the caverns.

This was a very nice and newer motel. The complimentary breakfast was very good and had a wide range of choices.We were very comfortable and we would certainly recommend this hotel.

This was a lovely well maintained hotel. Convienent for people visiting Carlsbad Caverns. They had a nice breakfast room with a great selection of food items that were continually replenished

Great staff, excellent location and the best hotel in Carlsbad. Although it is a little further to drive to the Caverns from this hotel, it is the best place to stay. Good location for restaurants (Check out the Bamboo Garden buffet. It is the greatest with plenty of American and Oriental foods. This hotel has a great breakfast which includes the cinnamon buns, which must be a special at all Holiday Inn Express since I found them at several locations on this trip. Indoor pool and spa was great for relaxing after a long drive.

The Hotel is very nice well maintained and personel are freindly and helpful. the price is more than I would expect for Carlsbad.

Staff were very helpful, good breakfast, clean and new rooms. Nice hotel in part because everything is so new. Large rooms compared to many one-room hotels out there. Only downfall is distance from caverns - about a 40 minute drive - but the city itself is about 30 miles from the caves.

Newer motel and highest-priced in the area. Despite the price, we opted for it mostly because it was relatively new (we'd seen some negative reviews of older places in the area) and because of the hot breakfast that was included. Breakfast was sub-par. While not serving all options every day, they had neither scrambled eggs nor bacon. They had a "cheese" omelet that was mediocre, and sausage patties. I was led to believe there would be more variety. They also had the usual cereals, oatmeal and breads, plus an average cinnamon roll that they were touting. The room was fine, beds and pillows were good, bathroom clean and up-to-date. Only complaint is that the bedroom white walls were dirty, probably from customers putting their luggage up against them. For the price, the walls should have been cleaner. We didn't stay long enough to take advantage of more of the amenities (pool, gym, business center). If you're staying there to go to the Caverns, be forewarned that it is on the North end of town and further away than nearly all of the other chain motels, which are on the South end of town and therefore closer to the Park.

Great breakfast for an inexpensive hotel and good location for visit to Carlsbad.

This was a fine hotel for the location and price. My daughter loves the hot cinnamon buns for breakfast and it was a convenient location for visiting Carlsbad Caverns.

Ou family visited this hotel in June 2010 and was very pleased. Our only complaint was that the hallway when you got off the elevator smelled soured.

The only downside was that the jacuzzi was out of service during our 2 night stay.

We were surprised that we got a suite with 2 TVs for the rate---it was a very comfortable room---looked new. Even better, we were able to use our hotels.com Welcome Rewards to pay for our stay. The hot, full breakfast was welcome because our travel plans inclued a 7-mile hike in McKittrick Canyon (Guadalupe Mountains National Park) later in the day.

After staying in several of these hotels along our trip plan we found them all to be of a good value and consistent in their quality. In Carlsbad this one was located in the newer part of town and appeared nicer than other selections.

We stayed in Carlsbad, NM for a few days, and could not ask for a better hotel. Hotel was very clean and the staff very friendly. Will stay here again.

Great breakfast buffet. Everything else good also.

After reading the review of other area hotels and then driving past those same hotels I was very glad that I had selected the Holiday Inn. The room was clean and breakfast was good. The only complaint was the location. We were visiting Carlsbad Caverns and this was the furthest hotel from the caverns. The distance added about 10-15 of drive time to the caverns. The extra drive time however was an acceptable sacrafice for the clean room and friendly/helpful staff.

This hotel is very clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful! I have stayed in other places in Carlsbad and this is by far the best!!

We were very satisfied with our stay here. The room was clean and the staff was very friendly. We were very pleased with the free continental breakfast that included wonderful cinnamon rolls, muffins, eggs, and biscuits and gravy.

Hotel and the rooms were very clean. Across town from the Caverns, but worth the drive.

I paid as much as I did in Beverly Hills the week before, but the Holiday Inn Carlsbad was the only clean, up to date hotel in Carlsbad. I know others who paid almost as much for the roach motel. Breakfast was great, made it worth the extra $$.

This hotel was very comfortable and clean. It is on the other side of town if you are visiting the Caverns -- it is a good 30 minute drive, but if you are looking for clean, reasonably priced accomodations this is a good place to stay.

Hotel is fine. Does have an elevator. Main attraction in Carlsbad is the caverns. The hotel is 25 miles away.

Good service, staff and rooms. Only drawback was breakfast service--not enough tables in dining room and staff had trouble keeping items supplied--that was only on one of two days of stay.
