Great all around; I have stayed here before and even though it's been a couple of years, the hotel still looks and smells new.

Great location if attending Ohio U events - less than 2 miles away. The hotel and staff were great. Only complaint is that our room seemed to be above an outside smoking area.

It was a little more than a five minute drive to OU. Everything was fine.

Great breakfast - kids loved the pancake-maker! Very close to Ohio University and dozens of restaurants and retail. Queen beds were very comfortable though pillows were a bit too big/thick. Sofa bed was very uncomfortable for my teenage son. Heat/air unit was easy to use to maintain a comfortable temperature. Nice room setup: full bath, including sink, plus a sink/microwave/refrigerator/cabinet unit in the main room. Caution - Mapquest gave us the wrong directions in Athens. We later found out that the hotel is on a new street. It would have been better to Mapquest the CVS which was in front of the hotel and on the main road.

This hotel is over priced and under resourced.

I appreciated receiving a welcome basket in my room. This is the best hotel in Athens.

Its one of the better chain hotels in the area. And now with a pancake machine for breakfast, the kids loved that! We have stayed there a few times now, and each time it has been nice. Free internet/breakfast, indoor pool.

We arrived late, no problem. We went to our room, the bathroom had a leak. We were immediately given a better room and enjoyed it a lot! My wife went to Ohio U. And we revisited the campus. We were on our way to Charlotte, NC. Overall, I would rate this hotel a 4.7 or 4.8 overall. Good place to stay. Clean,quiet,staff great!

The hotel was well maintained and clean. Excellent staff effort at breakfast. Good selection of food and staff to clean tables as soon as one became available for for a new party. I had no complaints about my stay. A complimentary USA today would have been nice.

I stayed at this hotel for two nights. Th room was convenient and clean. The fitness center had functional equipment of reasonable quality. Decent restaurants are nearby.

Finally! When the OU Inn is always booked (and isn't that great anyway), the HI Express is a refreshing change for Athens. Sure, it's pricey for what the HI Express normally charges, but it's totally worth it to be somewhere clean in Athens! Will stay there for future visits to Athens.

The hotel was a bit expensive given its location and amenities. That being said, the property was well-kept and the included breakfast was generous.

Hotel looks great from the outside, and super nice inside. Our bathroom had not been cleaned properly (wadded up newspaper behind the door, etc) and when I complained, I was asked if I wanted to change rooms. (I declined) Someone was sent ASAP. They apologized profusely, were in the presence of their supervisor, and said to let them know if any other problems surfaced. Nice (room key entry) laundry facility- SUPER clean. Vending and ice machines are in a separate room with it, so no disturbance to others around them. I thought that was great. Right near the elevators. And you can lock yourself in, if you plan to stay with your laundry. Breakfast was nice: bagels and toast, fruit, yogurt, cinnamon rolls, and I think scrambled eggs and bacon strips. Great stay, would def stay again. Applebees right across the parking lot, as well as CVS.

While the overall star rating wasn't the best, I found the hotel to be a very nice, conveniently located place. The service was friendly, the room I stayed in was very nice and smelled great (always a good thing I highly take in consideration!) and the continental breakfast was satisfactory. The location is pretty convenient as well, located near several restaurants. Highly recommended!

Very pleased with our stay . The room was cleaned and spacious. The bed very comfortable. The continental breakfast was good. We would definitely stay here again if we are in the area again.

Friendly professional staff, very comfortable beds, very clean, nice bathroom and hd tv. Very close to Hocking Adena Bike Trial. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

I expected there to be someone at the front desk when we arrived at a little past midnight. I was tired, having driven from the eastern part of North Carolina with a toddler and being pregnant. The sheets and blankets on the bed were damp. Breakfast was good. I would suggest that the sign to the hotel be a bit more obvious. I had a hard time seeing it in the dark. It really is right off the highway, but I had to turn around and backtrack to find it. Overall, everything was quite pleasant about our stay.

great location and outstanding value for anyone taking their new students ohio univers.ity

when we arrived at the Holiday Inn Express the front desk welcomed us immediately and had all of our information ready to go. The room was very comfortable and updated with granite countertops and flat screen TVs. The continental breakfast was satisfying each morning. Our overall stay was outstanding.

Hotel was a little over priced, mostly because of a paucity of available rooms in the town.

The room was beautiful and the bed was very comfortable. I was particularly impressed by not only the granite countertops on the vanity but the granite in the shower as well, and the shower head, wonderful, heavenly.

Very nice and clean with plenty of parking. Good service.

This hotel was very nice. The room seemed larger than some hotels, and was very clean. The towels were quite nice and thick. I don't know the age of the hotel, but it appeared pretty new. The pool and hot tub were nice, although not huge as this is not a huge hotel. The complimentary breakfast was probably the best I have been to. The dining room was carpeted and much nicer than most. We actually had hot food - bacon, scrambled egges, biscuits, danish, etc. All was very good. I would definitely come here again!

We were extremely satisfied with the location, comfort of the bed, breakfast, excersize room, and pool/jacuzi. The television and channel selection was more than adequate and Wi-Fi easy to access. Improvements: The lighting was a little dim for reading. And the "room" coffee tasted bad because of the water, however the coffee at breakfast was very good!

The room was clean and nicely decorated. Very nice bathroom. I was very pleased.

We enjoyed our stay in Athens in a very clean and friendly hotel. Our daily free breakfast was more than plentiful, with eggs, a variety of toast, meats, cereals, sweets, and beverages. The staff and services provided were also exceptional, with free access to the internet. A quality stay for a budget price.

Had everything we needed, comfortable, and also had nice breakfast in the morning. Staff was very pleasant
