I recently spent 3 nights at this nice little hotel. Overall very happy with the stay. The breakfast is really good. The rooms are cozy but the bathrooms are small with saloon doors...almost like a ships cabin. I stayed in a room alone so no issue for me. I would stay here again. 5min walk to the Burg.

It provided all we need: clean accommodation, good bed, big modern TV with a lot of channels. Good breakfast. We were given a card with discounts for the local attractions and shops, we bought the 3-days tourist card and were given 20% discount which was very good and worthwhile even so that we used this card 1 day and went to see Bellfry and two other museums. This hotle is an excellent value for money we paid, we had a fantastic holiday.

The hotel has an excellent location in central Ghent and was excellent value for money.The staff was welcoming and the room recently renovated and clean. It was however a little eccentric. The bedroom had dark brown wallpaper. The bathroom was bigger than the bedroom and had a wardrobe, a shower, no bath, an ugly wall-mounted hot water system and gadgets such as a self-lowering toilet seat.

This hotel is in a great location and keeps the old world charm of the city of Bruges. Just a few blocks from the main squares, and at an intersection of two canals. There are restaurants and shops just across the street, but it is in a spot which avoids the mass of tourists coming for just the day. Staying in a "Standard Room," space was at a premium, especially when it came to the bathroom "pods." Only slightly larger than a cruise ship, they did not provide much in the way of comfort or privacy. The breakfast was sufficient (and free!), with several nice treats included. Chocolate eggs for Easter weekend, and crepes. Overall, a nice hotel, but I would recommend upgrading to a deluxe room if you plan to stay for more than a night.

Hotel was in a lovely location. Only about a 10 minute walk from main sqaure. Walls a little thin and bathroom not great but fine for 1-2 night stay. Overall, great place!

Close to everything. On a canal. Wonderful area. The only negative was that parking is in a public garage, the nearest of which was full. Drop your bags off first and use the map the hotel provides which in turn will help you to navigate the town the remainder of your stay.

As the title suggests this little hotel is cheap (by Brugge standards) reasonable basic, but perfectly comfortable. They include a continental breakfast that is perfectly adequate. Location wise it is great, a 5 minute walk to the main square in the old town

The hotel overall was great. Our room fro the price we paid was a great deal and we didn't have one of the "pod bathrooms" that I've seen others complain about. In fact, our shower was much larger than many others we had had while in Europe. There wasn't a tub, if that matters to you. Breakfast was included and decent -- tea/coffee/hot chocolate, a couple cereals, hard boiled eggs, and breads with meat and cheese. We disliked the fact that Wifi wasn't free, but there are many hotspots around Bruges where you can pick up a free signal if you need it (plus 5 euros for your whole stay really isn't that bad). Just annoying. It was very cold when we were there and the room was colder than we would have liked, even with the heat turned up all the way. Even so, a nice little hotel and we'd definitely recommend it for someone looking for a budget place.

The hotel is situated along one of the many canals in Bruges. It is near the centre of town, as is everything, because the town is so small. The one complaint is that their full size bed was two twin beds pushed together. This is great for people who are not going to be spending a lot of time in the room. if you need a place that is affordable, charming, and clean, just to rest your head and get cleaned up, this is your place. It is by no means a traditional hotel. The reception area closes at 9pm, I believe.

Got upgraded for free to a canal view room which was a great start. Got a corner room with great views and big windows. Bed was very comfortable. Sure, as the reviews said the bathroom is tiny but it's still functional and how long do you spend in there anyway? I'm 6 foot 3 and had no problems having a shower. Great location, short 5 minute walk to the heart of the old town. Friendly staff and adequate breakfast. Overall a great stay was had.

A very nice, family run hotel right in the middle of Bruges. Located on one of the many canals makes for a nice backdrop. The lady at the front desk was very helpful, she recommended restaurants, places to go and see and spoke very good English. The bed was a little too firm for my liking, but the room was otherwise very comfortable.

Hotel Ter Reien is a lovely place to stay, great location excellent value for money. Stayed for 2 nights in the room for 4 weekend before christmas and loved every minute. Would deffinately recommend

Overall this hotel fit my needs very well. The location was fantastic and the price was great. However, the rooms are really small and the bathrooms are miniscule. They look like cruise ship bathrooms. It was also pretty loud at night. They had a great breakfast that was included in the room rate. I loved waking up and having freshly made crepes and soft boiled eggs. I would probably not stay here again, but I would recommend it for someone who is looking for a place to sleep and a good breakfast at a reasonable price.

Hotel Ter Reien doesn't appear on the list of top hotels in Brugge but I think that's a good thing. It's a 5-10 walk to the main market square which places it outside the main tourist catch area. It makes for a more relaxing atmosphere with more local shops and restaurants to be found near by. It's also on the canal so I'd opt for a canal view room where possible. Rooms are small and the bathrooms smaller but they are clean, warm and everything works, including a good shower. There's a couple of English channels if the it's raining out and you want to see in! Breakfast was standard continental fair but fresh and serving times of 8.30-10.30 are nice and flexible (at weekends anyway). Previously staying here 6 years ago and was glad I went back this time. If you want to avoid the big crowds, even if its for a little bit, this is a nice affordable option. We checked in very late, after 12, but there was no issue after contacting the hotel before arrival.

We got a good value rate to stay here for three nights, and the quality and location of the hotel were excellent. The breakfast on offer was superb too, well worth getting out of bed for! We would stay here again, as it gave a good base to explore the beautiful city of Bruges without paying over the odds for somewhere to stay. I would, without exception, strongly advise you get a room that overlooks the canal, as to be so close to the fantastic scenery on offer and miss out by having to look out onto a road instead would be your loss! And the staff are fine, polite enough and helpful, but be realistic, you're not there to make lifelong friends with them!

Great location, small but adaquate rooms, efficient and friendly service, good breakfast... Parking closeby for around 8 Euro / 24 Hour. I would happily stay here again...

Lovely hotel in a great location with polite and helpful staff. But...as with most of the reviews the bathrooms are not only small, they are tiny. We had a lovely room on the canal but with a plastic pod stuck in the corner of the room. I am an average height and build man but I could not physically fit in the shower and had to hold the shower head to wash whilst trying not to spray the room with water. Also when I sat on the toilet I couldn't close the door as my legs would of been trapped. If you are on the petite side I would certainly recommend this hotel, if you aren't, then I would not.

Hotel Ter Reinen is a wonderful place to stay, especially if you book the canal view rooms! WOW! Perfect location to everything. The only comment is that the bathrooms are VERY small..much like that of a cruise ship crew bathroom! But that's the ONLY comment! If you are planning a trip to Brugge, give this amazing hotel a chance! (Book a canal view!)

The Receptionist was a little uptight to say the least but as a value hotel in a good location this hotel was hard to beat.

Close to the principal see sights near the channels. Good breakfast. No noise. There is bus near the hotel to the rail station. I recomend this hotel .I've stayed 2 nights.

This hotel is very old but maintained in an excellent condition. furnishings are spare, sleek European furnishings. The location of the hotel is close to the center of town, many restaurants and shops. The hotel offers computer access for €5 for an unlimited time period. The products offered in the bathrooms are of high quality. The breakfast offered with the room is varied and of high quality. After arranging for the hotel, I learned that the hotel is also recommended by Rick Steves in his travel book on Belgium.

We loved the hotel- ask for Room #14, on the canal and so close to the water that you can feed the swans while sitting at the open windows. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom tiny but sparkling, the breakfast tasty, and the location was great - just a 5-minute walk to the central square. If you are staying in Bruges, why not stay on a canal? (The rooms without a canal view are probably not quite as nice). During the day the tour boats go by very frequently which can be a bit loud, but only from 10 - 5.

Very nice little hotel just a few minutes walk from the town center. Owners are friendly and helpful. The breakfast (included) was superior to virtually any I have had gratis before. The rooms and bathrooms are quite small which I suspect is due to the keeping of the building in its natural state. Only real complaint was a missed wake-up call which they said was due to telephone trouble, but they could have knocked on the door. Luckily it didn't matter as we were up anyway. We definitely recommend this hotel when visiting Bruge.

The hotel is in a great location on the canals. The room was clean, however the staff were unfriendly and not at all helpful. The bathroom and toilet was extremely small with no ventilation. It was impossible to shower with the curtain closed. We booked a double room and were given a twin. When we asked about this, we were told (rudely) that there is never a guarantee and to read the small print. A very disappointing stay!!!!!

The hotel was clean and comfortable. It was in a great location in the middle of Bruges so everything was in easy walking distance. The bathroom was small but clean.

The staff are extremely friendly and speak English very well. The hotel is very clean and nicely decorated. The room was very big, clean and comfortable with a very good bathroom and shower. Breakfasts were very good and a nice clean breakfast room which was never too busy even though the hotel was fully occupied. The location is about 4-5 minutes walk from the Belfry which is the centre of all of Bruges' attention. Will definitely stay here again if I return to Bruges (which I fully intend to) and would very much recommend this to anyone!

Bathrooms were tiny, like the units you would find in a caravan. Nice breakfasts.

Wasn't really sure what to expect, as the nightly rate was very reasonable for a city centre hotel - too good to be true (almost!). It turns out that this hotel is pretty good and perfectly located in the centre, just by the canel and close to many bars and restaurants. The reception staff were very friendly and always happy to help... with a smile! You'll get a card on your arrival with your room no. etc. on it.but this card will also give you discounts to various attractions like the canel boat trips and cycle hire, both of which we took advantage of. Rooms are a little small, but confortable and adequate. Rooms were a bit hot as we were there in June - but there was a fan supplied in the room, so that was very welcome. We occupied 2 rooms and both rooms had LCD TV's. Beds were very confortable. The dining room was very clean and tidy. The continental breakfast was very good as well - here goes in no particular order; cereals, fruit juices, bean-2-cup coffee, selection of teas, cold meats, cheeses, crepes, croisants, jams, honey, butter, nuttella, milk, boiled eggs, tinned fruit salad, bread rolls, sliced bread... but no toaster! Now for the down side - the bathroom! ...if you can call it a "bathroom"? It was more like a plastic "pod" in the corner of the room - something the crew of Apollo13 would have been proud of!? To say it was small is an understatement! ...but don't let that put you off, this hotel is definately worth the price! :-)

Staff was very helpful. Breakfast was inculded and very nice. Room was small but clean. The bathroom was very small. Location was great.

It was a nice place to stay in Brugge. Really nice breakfast with some chocolate and nutella! hmmm... The wifi was charged but should be free. It was cheap but should be free for guests. Nice location, close to attractions.

good location for all the sights of bruges, about a 10 min walk to main square, set in a peacefull location. The road outside got quite noisy as traffic started to build up on the road outside in the morning, but this wasn't a problem, Our room was quite small but clean and comfortable. The shower space was tiny though the water was hot and the pressure good. The outside terrace was quiet and nice to unwind in before bed. There is a drinks machine serving soft drinks and wine at very reasonable prices. The breakfast room was comfortable. A decent selection of continental breakfast was available, even belgian chocolate was available one morning! Mostly the staff were nice, although one of the receptionists came over a little frosty. The hotel allowed us to keep our luggage in their luggage room when we arrived hours before check in, and again when we left. They also rang us a taxi to get back to the station. I would def come back to this hotel again. For a decent price you get a clean and comfortable hotel in a good location.

The hotel was conveniently located. Everything was within walking distance. Hotel curator was very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel.

Hotel was in a great area - quite street in the center, right on one of the canals. Sauna was a nice bonus! Would definitely stay there again.

Hotel staff were very friendly on check-in and throughout our stay. We had the family room, which was actually larger than I had expected from the photos, as was the bathroom. Loved the view from the room of the canal, which when we were there was frozen. Hotel was centrally located - about 10 minutes walk to the main square. We had an early check out so the staff arranged a taxi for us and an early breakfast was delivered to the room (for a small charge).

We were very satisfied with the location and we received a friendly welcome. The room was of a reasonable size but not particularly clean. I cant recommend the hotel because the en suite was the smallest and most bizarre unit I have seen and frankly not what I had expected. I would expect better, which is disappointing because we really enjoyed Bruges

We booked in February for late September, as we were two couples wanting canal front rooms in a small hotel Rooms are small--it's in old houses, after all. Very clean. Excellent convenience to all the Bruges sites. We paid a little extra for canal front room, which was worth it for the views--including of the tour boats continuously going by. Breakfast was excellent. Good restaurants nearby, easy, picturesque walk along the canals to the Burg and Markt. We took the train from Brussels to Bruge. Too far to walk with luggage; cab fare was modest--under 8 Euros.
