Excellent Hotel, Excellent Service, Exclellent room and very nice staff. Always a pleasure to come back to this hotel.

This is not a 4.5 star, no concierge, no snacks after 11pm, no minibar, wireless service weak, bath tub closer is in the center of the tub which continuously closes as you stand on it

Carlton Savannah has a bit more of a boutique feel, if you prefer that to the more grandiose hotel climate of the Hyatt. Hotel room was very nice and really clean. Food in lobby restaurant was good as well. Staff were extremely nice. However, checkout process was lengthy and a bit convoluted, we were not able to pay with AMEX as system was down. Leave extra time for checkout, especially if departing early. Also, there is no wifi in the rooms, only in lobby. Rooms just have ethernet connection.

It was ok, the room wasn't cleaned properly. The bathroom shower is definetly to small for two people & the fixtures in the bathroom are falling apart!

I stayed here in Feb 2012, and I thought the hotel was very nice. It was comfortable, centrally located, stylish, and the service and food quality were both solid. However, this new stay in January 2013 was unfortunately disappointing. The hotel seems to have let basic maintenance lapse greatly. Constant cold showers despite complaining. Nicked up walls and floors. Poor food quality and very slow service. The bed was comfortable, so that was a silver lining...

Very clean and comfortable. When I booked the room I was supposed to get a mountain view and got the view of back of hotel. I could not open the windows. I did not get complimentary bottle water. The last night I asked front desk staff to call a Taxi for next morning. I was told that the taxi driver was not available and that they would call someone else. The next morning different staff told me no one called a taxi and they needed to call a taxi. When it was time to leave a had two taxis fighting to take me to my destination. TAXIS WORKING FOR HOTELS ARE VERY EXPENSIVE!!

The Carlton Savannah is a very contemporary and charming hotel in Port of Spain. It's not very close to downtown and is about 30 minutes from the airport in Piarco. The taxi ride can also be expensive (NB: the hotel offers a shuttle, but not free of charge). That said, the pool is an oasis, the rooms are very smart and contemporary with Caribbean flair and the rooftop bar offers a fantastic rum punch and a a great view of the city and the mountains. The staff were very polite and accommodating, especially considering my late arrival and need for food. I would definitely stay here again.

Very clean and well kept. When I did the booking it said that wi-fi was available in rooms. Not true, only in lobby area. They allowed a taxi driver come up to our room when we never asked for a car. That was a bit of a negative safety issue for us.

very nice hotel, but a bit far from the airport (30 min)

The hotel amenities, location and comfort are amazing, but the room was always chilly, despite all the attempts to fix the problem.

This was a great find for a few weekend stays in Port of Spain. The hotel is located in a nice neighborhood just outside the main downtown area. All night things are easily accessible by taxi. The rooms are big. The place has a nice small modern feel to it. The best part is the super friendly and helpful staff. Food is good there too. There is just a little disorganization at the front desk at times and the pool area and rooftop bar could use a little more development. But this is a young hotel and I think those things will come along soon enough. We will definitely be back.

Chic & posh boutique hotel with comfotable rooms & amenities, located directly across from Queen's park. 45 minute taxi ride from airport, but rates were vere reasonable. Queen Elizabet & Duke od Edinburgh visited in 2009.

The hotel was well maintained, and the staff very courteous. The dining area is fairly small, but adequate. The room was very well appointed,comfortable and clean. The pool area was nice, and shielded from the street. I would stay here again while in Trinidad.

I spent one night on a layover. Ate in the nice restaurant and the food and service was excellent! Room was nice and clean, good internet connection. I will stay again on my next trip through Trinidad.

Large, comfortable, clean, modern rooms. Swimming pool open 24 hours. Large hotel next to a busy, noisy road. Car parking is useful. Some way out of town. Kitchenette available in some rooms, for an extra charge. Rather off-hand service at desk.

Great stay, I will be back

Great Boutique Hotel, conveniently located close to town, very close to the Savannah for daily exercise, and perfect during Carnival season because of this proximity. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay there again, and I would recommend it very highly.

Everyone in the hotel is friendly and they do their best to make you happy.

In general this hotel is OK for the cost, however some things could make the stay more enjoyable and qualify it with better class: Room service to provide always all the complimentary supplies (water, sugar,soap) permanently without need to remind by a call to reception. WiFi and not only Wired Internet access in the rooms shall be provided. Better maintenance of the swimming pool area (clean the pool bottom and surroundings from debris) Improve the information given at desk about tours and things to see around the hotel. Maybe a partnership with hotel in Tobago and facilities to come and go to airport (shuttle)

Usually I gone in the other hotel in the same disctict and I decided to change. I think that now when I'll go to Port of Spain The Carlton Savannah should be my hotel. The person very nice, the installation and in particular the room very confortable and beautiful.

My stay at this hotel was excellent. My room was lovely, the view was lovely, the Relish staff were so friendly and helpful and professional. Front desk staff were very friendly especially Kipton. My only complaint was that on check-in I was given my room key and sent on my way with no idea of how to get to my room (I even read about this in one of the previous reviews). But I would definitely stay here again.

It's a boutique style hotel. very friendly staff. excellent roof top bar and resturant. Never crowded. I don't stay at Hyatt, courtyar or Hilton because it's too business-like. Only downside is rooms tend to have a little musty smell from time to time. I've stayed here at least 8 times.

We stayed here for 4 nights and overall the ambience of the hotel was pleasant. The rooms were large and the beds were comfortable but there were a few stains on the carpet n sheets. The staff was ok but we were not comfortable with all members of staff as housekeeping tried to enter the room at 9pm and seemed hasty to leave our room when we came back early to the hotel. The style of the hotel is contemporary,the temperature of the pool was always nice n warm and we thoroughly enjoyed the relaxed mood. We do not recommend the restaurant located at the hotel as they were out of items on the menu numerous times and the one time we ordered room service,it took an hour.The rooftop area offered spectacular views of the city and honestly,despite the minor inconveniences,we would definitely return.

Throughly enjoyed my stay here. The room was large and tastefully decorated, spotlessly clean and well stocked with toiletries, etc. The staff were obviously well trained and went out of their way to ensure all of my needs were met. Highly recommended and the price was most reasonable.

We stayed in this hotel when our flight to Grenada was cancelled and had a 3 day layover. We picked this hotel instead of one closer to the airport because it was reasonably priced compared to the airport hotels but might higher quality. The hotel was everything we could have wanted. Room was elegant and sharply decorated. Nice view of the pool. I didn't feel like I was being nickle-and-dimed...e.g there was no overpriced minibar, no pressure to order movies (in fact there was no pay-per-view available), etc. Service was exceptional, often we called the front desk from out on the town to ask for a cab and other questions and they were happy to help. The roof top bar was amazing. Absolutely my favorite part of the hotel. Spacious and beautiful, there was plenty of space to talk to feel secluded, but yet it was lively enough to not feel like it was abandoned. Did not get a chance to try out the pool or pool bar, but it looked classy. Biggest complaint. The room had VGA adapters installed in the desk to hook up a laptop up to the flat screen tv. AWESOME FEATURE. However, the front desk did not have any cables... so it was effectively useless. Who carries around vga cables? I would recommend the front desk purchasing a handful of cables to keep on reserve. It would have been a perfect way to watch a movie from my laptop Second biggest complaint... very limited tv selection...but I didn't go there to watch tv so not a big deal

The hotel has its pluses and minuses, but after weighing up everything.. I will not be staying here again. Pros.. -Good location. -Clean rooms. -Safe. -Friendly staff. -Nice rooftop bar. Cons.... -Rooms smell terribly musty. It's actually a pretty awful, damp smell. -Water and newspaper included in the room rate was only delivered on two out of five days. -The air conditioning unit never quite worked properly, even after the technician supposedly fixed it.

The hotel was very nice, clean & very inviting. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a room on the east? side overlooking the airconditioners (not very appealing) The hotel is geared toward business so they did not have enough info for travelers such as my husband & I who were there holiday & site-seeing. There was confusion about transportation from the airport to the hotel. I called hotels.com to make sure that what I was interpreting what was really offered. The hotel web site mentioned transportation from airport to hotel. When we arrived no one was there to pick us up. What they really meant, is there are Taxi's there waiting to take you to the the hotel (at a high rate) I was expecting a hotel van. We ate ate the resturant it was wonderful. We tried local entrees and enjoyed them immensly . It was a little difficult to get around by foot b/c of the traffic. Not impossible. We walked to the Queens Park savannah many times, plus the hotel was not far from the zoo or botanical gardens worth the walk.

Beautiful hotel. It lives up to the Carlton standard. The food was excellent. The room was immaculately clean. The staff was friendly and the service great. The chef's creations were orginal and delicious. I would highly recommend this hotel and will definely stay here again in the future.

The hotel is very pretty and looks very trendy. However, the rooftop bar which is advertised in all the literature is in fact only available for private events. During our stay, the pool was closed due to a fashion week event. This is the only amenity (beyond the bar and restaurants available to guests!!) The walls are very thin so we could easily hear our neighbors conversation - late into the night. The TV didn't work for a few hours because of some "wire/cable issue". The phones have no placards on them so there are no specific numbers for the concierge, guest services, front desk, etc. All in all, seemed like the hotel wasn't quite ready for to really deliver the amenities and comfort that they promise in the description. I hope it will get better over time but I was sorely disappointed by this experience

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. I had spent the entire day on a plane, was late arriving and the welcome was great and the room perfect. The staff was outstanding the entire stay. I only ate breakfasts there and they were very good. Nothing but raves from me.

Todo perfecto... Se recomienda ampliamente este Hotel, muy bonito y comodo, su personal muy atento atento y responsable, todos los servicios muy buenos. El único detalle mal para nosotros es porque allá nadie habla español y nosotros no hablamos inglés pero a través de los traductores on-line logramos la comunicación... TODO MUY BIEN... GRACIAS

Bonito Hotel con estilo contemporaneo, la atención es buena con varias opciones gastronómicas. Su ubicación con respecto a la Ciudad de Puerto España es inmejorable.
