Rooney's Boutique Hotel - بوينس آيريس

Rooney's is my favourite hotel on Buenos Aires. It has a welcoming feel as soon as you walk through the door. The staff are exceptional and you feel more like a guest in someone's home rather than being in a hotel. I have used the hotel on business and holidays and the location is great for both.

The hotel doesn't look very nice on the outside but don't let yourself get fooled by this, it's very nice, clean, safe,pleasant. The staff is wonderful, very nice. They even have some cereal, coffee, tea, bread for us at 4am. Too bad we couldn't stay here any longer. I would definitely stay here again.

This hotel occupies the third floor of an old, residential building in Buenos Aires. Security is tight. The door to the street is locked and is opened by the concierge upstairs in response to the door bell. Once upstairs (after an interesting journey in the old, mechanical lift), the front door to the hotel itself is opened, again in response to a door bell. To leave, the process is reversed (although you can open the door to the hotel from the inside yourself. We were told that local security on the street is 'reasonable'. This was evident by the practice at an excellent restaurant nearby, which kept its door locked and admitted diners only on request. Nevertheless, the hotel is quite conveniently located in Buenos Aires. Our room (a superior double) was smaller than expected but beautifully decorated. It was rather noisy, overlooking the main street, although the windows are double-glazed. The shower was hot and strong. Breakfast was good. We didn't get a free tango lesson. (It is available only on Monday, Wednesday and Friday nights - our booking was for Saturday and Sunday nights - nevertheless, our booking confirmation stated that a free tango lesson was included! Oh, well.) Overall, Rooney's is a lovely hotel, and a refreshing change from the more corporate style.

Mere request of an early breakfast at 5.30am is unheard of in all hotels.But Rooney's Boutique Hotel really make it happens.I request for an ealy wake up call at 5.00am because of an early departure flight and follow by a request for a simply meal if it is possible.They respond immediately with a positive 'Yes' without hesitation.This is unexpected.I am impressed.

It's such a great hotel. I love it, completely. I stayed two nights in room 1 and 3 with balcony facing Avenue Callao, a busy street. I love watching cars and people passing my balcony, but if you are a light sleeper, avoid room 1-3 and ask for a room facing, Samiento, a side alloy, which is way quieter and nice.

The best thing about Rooney´s is the staff. They are so friendly and ready to help. The hotel is well placed for sightseeing - it is just a 10 minute walk to the Obelisk. The building itself is quite old (the lift looks like it was built in the 1930´s) but the rooms are comfortable, and the breakfasts are good too.

This hotel has a unique character - very european turn of the century, full of charm & elegance. I loved the decor of my room with 5m ceilings & chandileer with period fittings, balcony window overlooking the bustling Avenue - it felt very romantic. The staff are excellant. Fluent english speakers, very attentive and genuinely interested in my stay and making sure i was enjoying myself. Given i love to walk, the location was perfect - many places of interest such as Recoletta cementary, teatro Colon and San Telmo market. Make sure to go to San Telmo on Sunday. My only wish is that i could of stayed longer.

I would definitely not rate this hotel as a 4 star rating. It is far too overrated and overpriced. It is more like a backpackers than a "boutique" hotel: * Rooms are tiny with barely any room to move and outside traffic very noisy; * Outside the front entrance there are lots of rubbish bags and people sitting outside that looked like potential thieves. Does not look like a safe area; * There was lack of tissues, toilet roll in the room and reception had to be contacted repeatedly to re-stock; * The serving portions at breakfast was a joke. My partner was given the tiniest slice of bacon and a small egg for the cooked breakfast. * Didn't use the bar facilities but the drinks prices were way over-priced. * Internet facilities were poor with only one laptop computer compared with most other similarly rated hotels where there would be several computers. * Don't get mis-led by the pictures on the internet as the hotel is not what it seems compared to the pictures. * There was no room service which I would expect from a hotel with this star rating.

The location was great -being very close to the corner of Callo and Callientes in the center of the city. But it also made it very noisy 24 hours per day. It was a period beuilding -but a little scruffy. Hospitality was good. Breakfasts werre good. Room No3 -our room- as immediately off the reception area, with connecting doors on both sides of the room, so it was NOT private. Also, it was minicule -the bathroom was 3' x 4'. It suitabler ofr only a single person -nit a double as adevertized.

Everything was OK but not exceptional. I wouldn't call this a "Boutique" hotel by US standards. More like a 3 star. Not your best deal from Hotels.com but not bad. I prefer other properties I have stayed at in the past and would most likely not return here. It is unique in the guestrooms but that is all.

Nice little boutique Hotel in wonderful part of Buenos Aires. A 10 minute taxi cab ride from J. Newbery AeroPark. The hotel is actually located on the 3rd floor (4th for Americans) of the building. There are restaurants nearby, night club across the street and a 15 minute walking distance to La Recoleta and a 5 minute walk to a Tango club. The best thing about the hotel is the friendliness of the staff and their knowledge and willingness to help you with arrangements and directions while you are there. Because of its age, the sound insulation between the rooms is not the best. Their is a quaintness of the turn of the century building architecture and location that makes this a charming pied-à-terre in a good neighborhood while staying in BA. May not be have all the bells and whistles business travelers are accustomed to, but the staff gladly accommodated me and my luggage during the day after checkout while waiting for my the evening flight back North. I'd stay again during my next visit to Buenos Aires.

This hotel was simply amazing! Within walking distance of a great area for dining, nightlife and theatre, as well as the Argentine capitol building. The charming décor takes you back to another era, and the service and attention to detail provided by the staff (Especially Nico!) made staying here a pleasure. The perfect escape after an exhausting day in the hustle and bustle of Buenos Aires. Definitely recommended to those looking for a unique experience without sacrificing service from other international chains.

The location of the hotel is so bad, the accesability of the hotel is bad. It is not family hotel maybe for bohemian people is good

This is a great hotel on the edge of the Recoleta area of downtown Buenas Aires. It only has fourteen rooms, was built in the early 1900's. The cielings are high, the floors are tile and wood, the furniture is vintage and the beds are comfortable. The breakfast that is included is good and the hotel staff is excellent. The staff was more than helpful in helping us arrange tours, shows, finding good restaurants, and calling taxis. They also speak english as well as spanish. We would definately stay there again.

Hotel com bom nível de atendimento, funcionários muito educados, respeitadores e que procuram satisfazer o cliente em tudo o que é possível. Restrição ao nivel de conservação do prédio.

El personal era más que amable y te hacía sentir como en casa. Las habitaciones estaban elegantes, limpias y eran muy cómodas. El desayuno era de mucha calidad, delicioso y muy variado. La ubicación perfecta con buenos conexiones de transporte, el metro es barata y eficiente y hay muchas taxis. Es un edificio antiguo, un montón de carácter pero con todas las comodidades

Es un hotel que se encuentra situado en el tercer piso de un edificio....la habitacion es chica...y las fotos son muy diferente a la mirada ocular...oh habia mucho ruido de la calle todo las noches, fiestas aparentemente de los departamentos de arriba,porque otra gente vive en el edificio...pedimos una plancha y nunca nos la acercaron a la habitacion,ni se pidio dislcupas por no ternerla...las clases de tango son 2 dias a la semana,o sea que si te quedas un find estas sin suerte porque los dias de tango son lunes y viernes solamente!

Muy buena idea de reciclaje de un enorme departamento antiguo, convertido en hotel boutique. Amoblamiento acorde a la época de construcción del edificio, lo que lo hace más agradable aún. Muy buena atención del personal. Precios acordes al servicio y calidad.

Nos gustó el hotel, está bien ubicado, hay buena movilización cerca. Rico desayuno, buena atención. Mejoraría la aislación de las ventanas (aunque ya tiene doble vidrio) pues se siente bastatnte ruido proveniente de la calle.

We had problems with the shower and the toilet, but they where promptly solved by the staff( they where very helpful). The hotel is not very well situated. Apart from that, we had a very pleasant stay. It´s not a boutique hotel, but it does the trick. I would recommend it.

Hay hoteles boutique y Rooney. Si fuera un hotel de cuarenta dolares la noche, seria justo y aun asi no volveria. Entrada en el tercer piso de un edificio de 4 niveles, lobby inexistente, personal basico, poca o ninguna privacidad, mobiliario criticable y mucho ruido durante las noches (en especial fines de semana).

We moved to Rooneys after som other bad experiences, and they made our stay a lot more enjoyable. Nice style, friendly and helpful staff/owner, comy and spacey rooms. The area is very busy and close to shopping and theatres etc. Around 15 mins in a cap to Palermo and San Telmo to give you an idea.

Yo sólo había escuchado de estos hoteles, y por supuesto, visto en la TV. Cuando entré no sabía si me quedaría, porque no veía, sólo miraba algo totalmente diferente a las cadenas de hoteles. Cuando me senté en la habitación, mis ojos comenzaron a ver lo exquisito de los detalles, muebles, lámparas, sillas, cobertores, y después el baño, todo antiguo, pero muy bien mantenido. Al salir de ésta, vi el resto del hotel, todo es bello, el pasillo de los espejos, las lámparas de lágrimas de cristal, el bar, todo pequeño, pero hermoso. Se vive con comodidades de hoy, pero en ambientes del pasado, en todo su esplendor. Una experiencia que espero volver a vivir, cada vez que vaya a Buenos Aires. Debo agregar que el personal es también muy especial, los que jamás me dijeron "no se puede", siempre me ayudaron en todo lo que necesité, muchas gracias a todos !!, Susana de Chile.

O quarto do hotel lembra o quarto do museu em que o Getúlio Vargas morreu. Quem gosta - deve apreciar. Local horrível a noite. Apesar de tudo não há como negar que para quem gosta o interior é muito bem cuidado.

We loved the furniture and room decor. Breakfast was very abundant and fresh. The concierge helped us to confirm our flight and to book for a wonderful city tour. We enjoyed the free tango lesson in the hotel very much! Everybody in the hotel was friendly and helpful. We will certainly come back to this hotel.

Elegimos este hotel por su ubicación nos gusta mucho caminar y desde allí pudimos visitar varios sitios como La Recoleta, Puerto Madero, Plaza de Mayo... El desayuno nos encantó por su gran variedad hasta nos prepararon unos riquisimos omeletes que a mi marido le encantan! La habitación que nos dieron estaba muy limpia y la decoración es muy bonita. No queriamos irnos del hotel realmente es un lugar maravilloso y vamos a volver muy pronto!

We were given a beautiful room that was very comfortable. I especialy loved the period furniture. All the staff were extremely helpful and courteous. They were always attentive to our needs and gave us great suggestions on places to visit and the best restaurants. They also helped us by booking a trip to Tigre and Colonia. Also, the location is great as alot of places of interest are within easy walking distance.

A localização do hotel é ótima, nas redondezas há o Paseo La Plaza e outros restaurantes. O staff do hotel é super atencioso e dá dicas preciosas. O quarto é confortável e o ambiente do pequeno hotel muito aconchegante. RECOMENDAMOS e voltaremos.
