Alta Vista De Boracay - بوراكاي

This was our first trip to the island. We picked a great hotel to stay at. The staff picked us up at the airport and took us the hotel. The staff is very nice. I only had one issue when i asked for additional pillows. The bed only had two pillows. SO i called and asked for more. the woman at front desk said no. I guess there is a pillow shortage in Boracay (very weird). But that is the only negative i would say. The food at hotel is great. We swam at pool. It was empty most times. Take advantage of private beach. We went several times and we were the only ones in the water.

Alta Vista was OK to GOOD - The staff tried hard, were exceptionally polite, helpful and friendly. On the downside, the lack of structure, order and communication left a lot to be desired - Breakfast was poor, overcrowded and on the whole, uncomfortable. The restaurant was also the breakfast room, which was empty every evening. In the evenings, there was no hotel entertainment, so going into town is a must. Amazingly there was NO iron in the room. We were told it was due to safety, which we didn't understand. Having said that, for a charge - they ironed our clothes. There is no gym, and the family playroom was almost a bear room with padded walls - The infinity pool and kids pool area is nice, clean and comes with stunning views - as does the whole complex - the views from the top of the mountain are breathtaking. Overall we liked it, though as a family with two small boys and a single granny, we wouldn't go back. Alta-Vista was a step too far up the mountain and if you didn't take the free shuttle bus - we got ripped off by the local motor-bike taxi's. Their standards are lower than the west, yet as we understand it, the hotel is owned jointly by Chinese/Philipines, so it's no surprise to see 4 star reviews which really mean 2-3 in the west (BEWARE if you are a westerner looking for 4 star, this is not it). This brings us onto the island as a whole......

We liked to stay at Alta vista de Boracay. Great, large rooms. But food was very disappointed. It was just like for Korean and Chineses people, just eggs for European people. I recommend you try to make it more international. Thanks.

hotel is not on the main beach but they have their private beach which is a paradise if you are not scared with the big waves.=). Hotel is about 20 min.approximately to d'mall where they drop and pick up guests with their shuttle buses. min buses runs every 1H.Hotel is good but the only thing i didn't like is their food. I think they should improve their menus even they will have to charge more money to their guests.Food choices are very few. Wi-fi is only available by the lobby area and if you have to use it in your oom, you have to purchase a prepaid card which is ok 100 pesos for an hour.

You will need a shuttle going anywhere, the shutlle is provided free of charge by the hotel. Overall, i can recommend this hotel

the hotel......nice, clean and quiet. the food were greats...love it, there were many foods to chose from, the staff, especially the one called "gerard" very accomodating , the staff are truly an assets to the company, love to stay there again........

This hotel is not serious. Do NEVER leave your credit card info with this hotel. If you have to cancel rooms here, they will avoid picking up the phone or answering you until it is too late to cancel. They may "call back later" or tell you to call an unanswered number in Manila. This is not a serious hotel, stay away! They ruined our easter holiday now in 2012.

We stayed for three days. Good aspect The hotel's most of staff was very kind and nice to guests The hotel's private beach was less people than whitebeach and beautiful.But less fish. Whitebeach's sea has a lot of seeweed and color is green.It is too dirty to swim. They have free shuttle bus to the whitebeach. Bad aspect For breakfast,there is nothing eat except for bread and rice. There is not much food for guests.Hotel couldn't cathch up serving food to the guests. It was terrible. For location,there is nothing interesting place near from hotel and it's very far from whitebeach.We have to take trycycle or hotel's shuttle bus to go out. Some time there were many guests to take bus,it took many time to get on the bus. For arrangement golf,we asked the front desk for arranging golf twice ,but they completely forgot that. So we couldn't play golf. For room facility,the nob of shawer was broken and we have to chang our room at midnight. Totally,I can't say good or bad. But we will not stay this hotel again.If you would like to stay at quiet place and don't mind take time for transportation and poor breakfast,it's Ok to stay.

All i can say about Alta Vista Borocay is EXCELLENT i will be back . Keep up the good work.

Worthy to stay

This hotel is one of the better places to stay in Borocay. Good in comfort, price and ammenities. The hot tub was broken only bubbles and no heat. But the breakfast, the room, price, and shuttle made it well worth it. Could improve on the shuttle as sometimes going back was crowded.

Pros: hotel is nice, quiet as it is far from the commercial areas; buildings and rooms are well-maintained and clean. Hourly free shuttles from hotel to town center and main beach. The staff is the main asset of the hotel: patient, courteous and respectful. Cons: Being far from town center is also a disadvantage as you have to wait for the hourly shuttle, so movement depends on when the shuttle comes and goes. A dependable queuing system must be adopted to prevent misunderstandings among guests. Shuttle to private beach (Puka beach) must at least be extended up to the night to let guests enjoy the beach more. The food: very uninspiring and ordinary and not too tasteful. The hotel should totally make-over its menu, in all aspects, including the cafe. Hotel is not for the elderly as there are no room boys to help carry heavy luggages to hotel buildings without escalators or elevator.

Very nice Hotel

Location - very isolated from the main tourist area of Boracay. Minumum 10 min drive (via tricycle or shuttle bus) to Station 2, where you will find everything you need. The hotel does provide a free shuttle once every hour until midnight. Food - horrible! Either super salty or with no flavour at all. Free breakfast is subpar from other 4 star hotels I've stayed at. Avoid eating at the hotel if possible. Service - Just alright. Check out is a time consuming process, so give yourself some extra time - we ended up getting delayed by close to 30 min and missed our flight out of Boracay! Hotel Condition - Superb. The views from this place are AMAZING and it feels like you're staying someplace super expensive (which you are compared to other places on Boracay). Room - Had a weird moldy, unused smell that wouldn't go away - and it permeated our belongings as well. Other than that it was good. Had a small kitchenette which was a plus. It's a good place for a romantic getaway - but that's about it. I wouldn't stay here again with friends because it's no fun.

In my opinion the best resort in Boracay , even if little far from the white beach, the shuttle to there every hour and for free, the staff is very helpful , Sure I would be there again, highly recommended .

The training given to the staff are excellent because they are all courteous and exhibits professionalism. It's a bit far from the white beach but they have vans going to D Mall until late night. You can even request to send you to Puka Beach and fetch you anytime. This is a great hotel. Every peso I paid to this hotel is all worth it.

Pros: - Beautifully located - Free shuttle service to White Beach - Service minded and well mannered employees Cons: - Far away from the beach - Poor hotel restaurant with sub par food - The internet you pay for is a complete joke, expect 10 kb/s - Even though you speak perfect english it is hard to make requests out of the ordinary like asking for a corkscrew to your room or ordering extra meat with your chop suey

Its like signing up for the Gustapo with these people upon check in. They want copies of your passport, a $25 per night deposit, and they constantly ask what your hotel room number is. Even when I paid cash at the restaurant. I get the logic but even if I wasnt staying at the hotel I was paying cash and bringing money in to the restaurant, which was terrible, bland, and unhealthy. The bed sheets had sand residue on them. We had no towels or soap checking in. The towels are constantly monitored as you have to check them in and out. Again, I get the logic but is there really a problem with towel theft? There are not enough lounge chairs for guests at the pool, which is very very nice. The room is nice enough. Id say a lot of small problems resulted in an average rating. The location is about a 15 minute ride by tuk tuk to dmall. 20 if the traffic is heavy in the evening. 10 if youre going home after midnight. Be prepared to hike up a steep 200m driveway to the lobby. There is a free shuttle but it only leaves every hour to white beach so you need to work around their schedule. Nearby Puka beach is beautiful so location wise its give and take. By far the worse thing is not having a reliable restaurant. The food is boring, bland, and greasy not to mention expensive for Boracay. Beers 90p, pizza 340p, veg pansit 260p, fruit shakes 180p. etc. ...Also, there is no free wireless in rooms. Only free in the lobby. I think its about 120p per hour or 800 for two days... I got a deal on this website so I dont feel too jaded. Id never pay the full rates for this place. Dont go here if you get motion sickness and you want to drive to white beach every day...

The resort is just 10-15 min ride away from D'Mall (the White Beach). It's the ideal location if you want a piece of quiet after a day of enjoyment. It has free shuttle bus to D'Mall per each 40min past an hour and the staff is very helpful if you need any helps. You can also catch "Tricycle" to D'Mall at around Peso 120. Room is clean and big and have good view. I"Loft Room" is the best recommended.

On the last day when we checked out, they charged us for dirtying their pillow cases and it costed us 3000 pesos just for pillow cases. It's ridiculous for a 4star hotel to charge customers for dirty pillow cases, and they are not damaged at all. I bet they can't afford a thorough laundry. They dare to do that because they know that your flight is near, and you have to rush to the airport. Thus you will have no time to argue with them. Be careful guys, a bunch of scams. Especially to all the asian guys, it's pretty obvious that racial stereotyping is deeply rooted in their pro-western mindsets.

The staffs were very accommodating. I love the room very spacious for us 2 adults and 2 kids, they also provide microwave oven.

I have referred to a friend who will also be coming from Guam with his filipina girlfriend just like myself

Very enjoyable few days. A lovely island -very friendly. Hotel is a little waging if town but the shuttle bus runs regularly. Pool was very nice and not too bust for the size of the hotel.

Quiet.. Clean.. Loft rooms are spacious.. Great views from the balcony.. Free breakfast.. Free shuttle to the d'mall.. Free wifi.. Infinity pool.. GREAT place to stay! Highly recommended!

Overall, the hotel was a nice place to spend a couple of weeks in Boracay. It is away from the main road of the downtown area, but the regular shuttle buses were easy to use and aside from all the overly eager Asians who were afraid they might miss the bus, it was better than using trikes or renting. The staff were really the best part of the stay with everyone being very friendly and helpful with questions or reservation matters. The food was average, but there is plenty of good eats along White Beach. The rooms were comfortable enough, though the beds are a bit hard and the bathrooms a bit old. Still, it was kept clean and fresh. Only issues were with the wireless Internet in the rooms. We could only use it without problem on the balcony or near the door. Other areas of the room were spotty. It is free in the lobby, but with the constant music and people waiting for the shuttle bus every hour - it got a bit noisy.... Also, buying a banana will cost over USD1, which is a bit silly.... All-in-all, great stay!

The best hotel in Boracay, very nice, big rooms,best view,infinity pool. Buffet Breakfast. Free shuttle to D' Mall, and Free Shuttle to Puka Beach.

I started looking for a hotel where my boyfriend & I could stay as we were both invited to a wedding in Boracay last May 20, 2011. I decided to check the different reviews of various hotels/resorts in Boracay & I came upon Alta Vista de Boracay. I haven't found any "bad" reviews so I decided to choose Alta Vista over the other hotels/resorts along Stations 1 & 2. Our decision to stay at Alta Vista de Boracay proved to be the best decision we've made. All the staff were friendly - from the guards to the housekeeping personnel to frontdesk staff. They are consistent in their greeting. The services they offer are sufficient. The location was not a concern for us since there's an available shuttle every hour if we want to go to & from D'Mall. A god bonus is the beautiful scenery that we enjoyed everyday. We would love to stay there again. Alta Vista de Boracay is a home away from home.

We stayed at Altavista for 7 nights and the hotel itself is great, we booked the loft and everything was perfect, the beds were really comfortable, the balcony had a great view, the food and the buffet breakfast were very good. Also not expensive at all, compared to the restaurants in the white beach. the only problem with the hotel could be the location, they have free shuttles going to D'mall every hour (startrting at 740am I think), there is no shuttle at 12:40. The shuttle takes 15 to 20 minutes and it leaves from D'mall as soons as everyone is in, they won't wait because of the traffic on that place. If your ok with doing this everyday then stay here, we got used to it very soon and when we wanted to go back to the hotel and we didn't want to wait we'd just take a tricycle and they should not charge more than 150 pesos. Also the shuttle (almost all of them) have AC, whic is very nice, there ws one without it and it was too hot to handle. On request, the hotel provides shuttle to Puka beach which is very quiet and relaxing, there are some huts from the hotels that use this beach but there are no facilities and there is a family that lives there and I believe they charge to use their bathroom. The service at the hotel is great and everyone is always happy to help. Wifi is free at the lobby and restaurant but is very slow specially when there are tons of people using it. Wifi at the rooms is 100 pesos 1 hour (minimum).

Our experience to Alta Vista de Boracay was superb... though its 15mins away from the white beach they have a nice infinity pool & jacuzzi with a wonderful view and peaceful surrounding. All the staff are every respectful, polite, always have a smile and don't forget to greet you whenever they saw you from anywhere. The room is spacious for 2 people and the veranda with a gorgeous view makes our vacations complete. Add the shuttle service that will bring you to the white beach. I give you guys a 5 stars for a wonderful place and service. ;)

I stayed 4 nights in the Hotel with very special price. I felt luxurious to use such a big room although I was just one person. What else? Warm hospitality; nice view; dlicious breakfest. And with shuttle busses I didn't feel much inconvenient of living on the mountain.

shuttle service often more than once an hour to d-mall, 10-15 min, during easter holliday took up to 20 min cuz of traffic. our fridge didnt work, called front desk and they came with a new fridge in a couple of minutes... the private beach's real nice, theres a small "restaurant" that sells water and sandwiches for reasonable prices, not much salesmen. you can easily grab a sunbed that probably doesnt belong to alta vista but their're not used by some other hotel anyways... if i go back to boracay i'd want to stay there again.

Nicely priced and great accommodation hotel but it is very far from the main areas of Boracay. It usually takes at least a 15 min ride from the hotel to the center of Boracay's White Beach. The hotel provides free rides but they only do it once every hour and stops at midnight so if you are planning to go clubbing late at night you have to take a tricycle ride back to the hotel which can cost significantly in the long run.

Stayed for 6 nights and couldn't be more pleased. The only thing to knock down on was the location of the hotel, and the staff could've used a course in hotel management, though this isn't Alta Vista specific, but more of a general thing for the Phillippines. The staff is very friendly and helpful and do what they can so an A for effort. If your going to the boracay for relaxation this is the place to be.

The Alta Vista is confusing. The staff told us that it has been open for only two years (or less) but its physical condition makes it look as though it opened 10 or more years ago and upkeep since then has been spotty, at best. It's clean, but there are any number of signs of neglect and wear and tear (e.g., broken spigot in the bathroom; broken shower line; worn paint; moss growing on the roofs; etc). So it's hard to figure out what's really going on. Also, the resort is massive (although we stayed in the building closest to the restaurant, so distance was not a problem) and we were told it was full -- but it didn't feel that way. The guests were mostly from Taiwan, Russia and the Philippines, with a few Aussies and Americans thrown in). The staff is fantastic -- friendly, helpful, professional. Our airport transfers were very easy and no problem. We have three kids (15, 13 and 10) and they loved the pool and thought the breakfasts (included) were fine also. Another great aspect of the resort is that it's in the northern part of the island, and all the really commercial stuff (D'Mall) is in the south and middle. So we were away from all of that, which was wonderful for us. Alta Vista has a private cabana on Puka Beach, which is a gorgeous and wonderful escape. In sum, Alta Vista is a B-/C+ resort -- but it charges only C- prices, so it's a great deal! We would go back.

if you are looking for the maximum relaxation with a vary reasonable cost and good quality the alta vista will be the best place. the only problem you will have is when you come back from the beach on your awn not through the hotel shuttle you will be needing to walk a vary strong hell as the hotel do not allow drop off to come into the premises of the hotel & I don't know why.

It's a bad place to stay if you're traveling without a travel agency. The hotel a few kilometers away from white beach. They offer shuttle service but they will prioritize the Chinese people who travel in huge groups for the service. It's going to take a few shuttles for you to actually have the ride. If you're a backpacker or travel your own pace, this place is not a good idea. Another thing was that the quality of the service wasn't great. Off course the staff will smile a lot but that's the most you can actually get from them. When we got there to check-in, the credit card machine was busted and they didn't have the decency to let us know that it didn't work. They wasted our time trying every other credit card (they pretended they were trying) we had. They only explained that it was damaged the moment we started to question the credit card machine. Another incident: we also lost our key. We paid 1500php for the lost key. We didn't have problems with that because it was our fault. The problem was that they couldn't give us a spare key even when we already paid for the charge. They told us to notify them everytime we wanted to go to the room so they can open the door themselves which took about 20minutes for the key guy to arrive. We decided to not lock the door everytime we leave and we put a "do not disturb" sign to keep it unlocked. Guess what? Even with the "do not disturb" sign they still cleaned the room and locked it. And guess what again? The "do not disturb" sign was gone from our room. Bad, bad service. I've been to many hotels using hotels.com. Some were cheap and some were not but even in the cheap ones I get desirable service. Even in the cheap ones, the sign "do not disturb" was honored. Don't stay here.

This was the second time we have stayed there. A great position if you don't want to be down on White beach all the time although the hotel has a regular shuttle service. They have a great pool which is never over busy. We were pleased that they have breakfast better organised from when we last went. A reasonable choice of food. A peaceful place to stay but not good if you are infirmed as the hotel is on a hill and doesn't have lifts to the rooms.

The pros. Very friendly and helpful staff. The Hotel although clean and well maintained is showing its age. The pool is very nice and clean Cons: Far from the beach, the Hotel has a good scheduled shuttle , it's a 20 minutes cramped ride to D'mall. They also have a private beach, but no chairs to sit on, cannot even buy a drink there. Food leaves a bit to be desired, breakfast was so so, half the time the trays at the buffet were empty. We had dinner twice and lunch once, the food was simply no good. They need a chef. The lobby at time was very noisy.

The Room was .amazing, The place was a paradise by itself. We rented scooters so the distance to the main beach wasn't a problem. We had a very good stay and would stay there again
