The rooms were small but comfortable, walking distance from places to eat and transportation (bus, tram). The pelican pub is right in front of the lodge which is great! Unfortunately for my 11day stay it was closed half the time due to re modeling, but the time I was at the pub I enjoyed very much. Would have given the lodge a 5 but the hot water didn't work for about 2-3.days. Even with that I would definitely stay here again.

The hotel was better than we expected for the price, good location for main routes and Metro. Eating in the Pelican was ok, but menu lacks choice.

complex of purpose built rooms behind a nice pub. Easy to find, clean and tidy - arrived late and met by friendly staff - poped next door to the pub only 10 yeards away, good food and friendly service. As on business ticked all the right boxes

don't be foled by the pictures of this hotel, its just a 2 story collection of rooms at the back of the hotel- just rooms and as the staff on reception kept telling us the hotel with bar, lounge ect seperate and nothing to do with them. Breakfast had been cancelled without us knowing and there was a private function on at the pictured hotel and we was not allowed in, there was nowhere within walking distance to go so we spent the night watching t.v in the small room. for less money we could have stayed in a larger room travel lodge somewhere which is basically what the altrincham lodge 'hotel' is.

very pleased with our two day stay at this hotel

Nice hotel with free parking.. 10mins walk to the train station. From there to old trafford take another 10-15mins. Very convenient and nice place to stay.. There is no lift in the hotel so if you stay on the 2nd floor you have to carry your baggage.

hotal is so handy for football and the pub after the game

This hotel was comfortable although the shower cubicle was quite small, but clean. The day we stayed the weather had turned chilly, but the hotel said they didn't put the heating on until the clocks went back. However they did provide us with an oil filled radiator which was fine. I would not recommend the breakfast in the adjoining pub. It was not worth the money and the service was very bad. We waited 15 mins before the waitress took our food order and she didn't explain that you could help yourself to tea & coffee after she had sat us at the table, all in all a bit of a shambles. I had "porridge" which was microwaved instant quaker oats which was an overcooked lump in the bowl.

Clean rooms, comfortable bed, simple and good!

Very hot night - only made bearable by fan supplied in room. Shower cubicle very small and fixed shower head made it a little inconvenient. Problems with TV were promptly sorted out by receptionist. Breakfast supplied by next door pub not what I wanted so I went just down the road to McDonalds! There were extra pillows and towels. Overall, manageable but not where I would really choose to return.

I would recommend this as an economical hotel, if you're looking for just the basics and don't mind small rooms. The first night we were there we stayed in a family room (3 adults), met our needs, but seemed a little run down. I was worried I might not sleep we, but both my husband and I did. My mother found it too hot. My husband and I ended up staying a second night, and found our room was better kept up and the bed was very comfortable. It was conveninent to the airport. Gwen

Sadly the room was not as clean as last time. I suppose though that you cannot expect much from a cheap hotel like the Altrincham Lodge Hotel.

This is a cheap hotel so you cannot expect first class accommodation. The room was basic but clean and the staff (with one exception) were very friendly. When you arrive at the hotel the exterior is uninviting and I thought initially that I had made a mistake in choosing the Altrincham Lodge Hotel but all in all I would recommend the hotel

Great value for money hotel. Located a few hundred metres away from a metro link tram stop that is a few stops away from Old Trafford (OT) football stadium. Alternatively it's a very simple short drive to (OT) The hotel is linked to a gastro pub called the old pelican with very friendly bar staff, that serves good quility food at good prices. (the beer's a very reasonable price too) The only negatives I have are that it's hard to spot the hotel on arrival. It's behind the pub, so best to look for that when you arrive. Also the room that I had was very warm at night and there's a safty window that stops you from opening the window very wide, Overall though a good hotel and I will deffinitly use it agian.

The shower was not clean.

this is a motor lodge or motel type place. the rooms are not large but an adequate for a short stay while on a road trip as we were. the pub right next door is the best thing about this motel. it was a lively local pub with good food and ale at very reasonable prices.

Small but very clean no frills room. Great access to the Metrolink for Old Trafford and City Centre. Full english breakfast appeared to be the only option so don't expect cereals, yogurt, pastries etc. but it was only £4 each. Great VFM and would stay again. Pub sold great value food and real ale.

Old style UK hotel, attached to a pub. Heating radiator valves were inop. Cheap for reason.....

Room too warm, otherwise OK. Coud have used fan to cool down but this would keep us awake

Comfortable room with a very good shower. Food in the adjoining pub good value for the money. Able to watch Sky sports in the pub as well.

The accommodations and location meet our needs very well the rooms were clean and tidy and the breakfast was adequate. The only disappointment was the attitude of the receptionist on our arrival at 2 pm. Although the rooms were ready and were allocated at that time for some unkonown reason she went to great lenghts to point out that we should not have presented ourselves until 3pm? This created a poor first impression.

The hotel is well located, but hidden behind the Old Pellican Pub. The sign is easily missed particulatly in heavy traffic or night time. Hotel exterior appearance is not very appealing, but the rooms are fine. I stayed at this hotel on two seperate occasions during my visit to the UK becouse of easy access to the airport and major freeways.

This was my 2nd time to stay at the Altrincham Lodge Hotel. It was a central location to the relatives I was visiting.

The Hotel was very comfy rooms were basic but nice, The pub next to the hotel was very friendly good food at a reasonable price.

When we called, we requested an early check in, which the receptionist told us was no problem, and we could check in as early as 12 noon free of charge. We got stuck in traffic, and ended up arriving at 2 pm, which is the designated check in time. Upon arrival, there was no receptionist at the desk, and a sign posted stating all check in was delayed until 3 pm. We had an important meeting to attend, so we managed to find a maid to let us store our baggage in their closet/toilet and use this toilet to change and get ready for the meeting. This was an extreme inconvenience and a terrible introduction to the hotel. As we were pressed for time, we were left with no other options. After the meeting, at about 9 pm, we were finally able to check in. The receptionist was rude at best. Her tone was not welcoming or apologetic for the previous inconvenience. When I was signing the necessary paperwork, it stated that my credit card was charged a different amount then what I was expected from hotels.com. When I asked about this, she snatched the paperwork from me and said "That is none of your business." I countered that this was indeed my business because it required my credit card and signature and she repeated it was none of my business, and then take it up with hotels.com. We we pleasantly pleased with our room. It was clean, with a comfy bed and large flat screen TV. The bathroom was small, but efficient and clean. The shower had excellent pressure, however varied from scalding to freezing. The temperature in the room was cozy. The actual layout of the hotel was odd, as a U shape and you must enter thru reception after hours. This was an inconvenience to us, as were were at the total other end of the building, so we had to walk around the entire building to get to ours. I was also disappointed to see that there was a charge for some of the things most hotels give for free: ie shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste, ect. The complimentary shower gel in our room was empty, but

The Hotel is dated but in convienient location to Old Trafford as the tram is 10 mins walk away.We had a family room which was very small not much room as one bed on floor so no room to walk...The hotels decor was dated and the room had a certain smell,bathroom small but ok.We booked breakfast as extra and expected a breakfast choise.The breakfasts are in the adjoining pub ...I would not have payed extra for the breakfasts had I known the content ,we were told to help ourselves to tea and coffee and take a seat ,within minutes 4 plates were put in front of us with a horrible looking piece of bacon,sausage beans and a few mushrooms...No choise was given or alternative for children or vegatarians like myself.No juces to drink ,no toast ,I would have rather have gone out somewhere for breakfast.The hotel staff were helpful and advised me that a manager would contact us.As yet no contact has been made..The location is good and hotel staff friendly but that is all that I would recommend about this hotel....!!!

Good price and close to the centre of Manchester and University only a short drive away. The interior is better than the outside would suggest with its 1960 US style layout but staff friendly and efficient and would stay there again.

This is a good hotel for staying near the airport Purple parking 5minutes away Staff very helpful The room is small but very clean and newly upgraded Their is a pub next door who do excellent meals up until 10pm Would stay here again Reccomend this hotel to friends and family

The main photo actually shows 'The Old Pelican' pub and it is this you need to look out for. (If approaching from Trafford it is on the LEFT just before Manchester Road becomes Washway Road). Altrincham Lodge is IMMEDIATELY after the main pub and is at the rear (there is a not very clear sign). Altrincham Lodge looks like a 1960's US Motel from the outside - don't be put off as the inside is modern and well maintained. I would definately use again. Meals are taken in the main pub - food is best described as 'reasonable' pub food - you can find both better and worse.

Good hotel for the price. One criticism - room too hot due to hot water pipe down wall and because of window security, it was unable to be opened to counteract this.

We stayed at the hotel when visiting Manchester for a night. The hotel isn't the most noticeable from the road and when you do see it, it is certainly a bit funny looking; we described it as a big conservatory! It was completely fine though, the room was quite small but nicely decorated and the bed was v.comfy. Good shower too. I would say that a full length mirror would be a good addition but all in all it was value for money. The reception staff were also very helpful when we needed advice on travel etc. A taxi from the hotel into Manchester was £14.50 earlier on and £17 at 2am. There was also a metrolink stop at Timperley which is a 5 minute drive (20 min walk apparently).

The hotel is located relatively closely to Manchester, but it might take some time to get to the city centre during rush hours. It offers a separate car park with somewhat narrow parking spaces and little space for manoeuvres. From the outside you can easily guess why this place is a two-star rated. However, once you get to your room, you will be positively surprised. It is rare to come across such a high standard in a four star hotel. Contemporary design and solutions across the bedroom and bathroom - an impressive, sizeable wooden headboard, flat screen with a remote, individually controlled halogen lights, free wi-fi internet, Dove body wash as opposed to some cheap soap bar, mountains of towels, cooling fan and a solid Manchester guidebook.

Schoon hotel. Lunch omgeving vond ik wat minder. voor de prijs is het voldoende. Dit hotel is goed te vertoeven voor 5 tot 7 dagen.
