Very enjoyable, staff was attentive and the room was clean. Lots of towels and hot water.

This place is terrible in every possible imaginable way. The lobby was crowded with drunk people and smelled of smoke. The room smelled musty and had debris and hair on the ground. The heat did not work. When we complained, the front desk attendant did respond and had to literally remove the existing AC/Heat unit and replace it at midnight. The whole ordeal left insulation and dirt scattered all over the room. The loud music continued till about 3am. I travel a lot but the breakfast at this place was literally the worst I have ever seen. Please save your money and stay somewhere else no matter what rate you are getting

loved it - your staff were the best!!! very friendly and helpful

Wanted to get a stay on the beach, to my surprise for 79.00 bucks they gave me a great ocean front room ... can't beat it for twice the price at R... beach

My boyfriend and i just spent four nights here during our spring break from college and we loved it! The staff was super friendly, our room was beachfront and so nice! Granted this is a slow time of year (April) the location was perfect, on the boardwalk and just a short walking distance to tons of shops. If we ever go back to rehoboth for a vacation this will definitely be our first choice!

I have never done a review of anything online before, but I wanted to write about the Henlopen Hotel because our family experience was wonderful. Everything in the hotel worked and the rooms were clean, but it's true that the hotel could probably use some renovation. Renovation or not, however, the hotel experience was not diminished. The views from rooms were incredible and the balconies were wide and had chairs to sit down on to enjoy the ocean. I thought the breakfast was great. While fresh fruit would be welcomed, what was on offer sufficed for a morning of relaxation. The staff were really kind and helpful. If I wanted information on restaurants they were a wealth of information and more than happy to go online for more information if needed. When I arrived at the door with too many things, someone was there to open the door. I don't know if I've ever stayed at a place with kinder staff, and I travel regularly. Overall I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a gorgeous view and appreciates kind and generous staff.

Went for just one night to get away and have a little relation and romance.Had an oceanfront room which was wonderful and saw a ton of dolphins from our balcony.

Nice hotel, great location. Not the prettiest or in the best condition but does the job and provides a good continental breakfast. Right on the boardwalk and you can't beat that. You have to pay for wi-fi in case that's important in choosing a hotel.

The staff doesn't seem to care. The room, too, shows a lack of any warmth. Hospitality is a word with little meaning here. Everything was by rote, no smiles. Light bulbs in fire exits missing. Noisy ballroom and early AM construction noise did lead to a fair refund. On the beach a big plus but we wouldn't stay here again.

It's a two star hotel, it was safe and quiet. No complaints for what was spent. Room cleanliness was however questionable. Entering a room that was to be Cleaned to find a cookie and potato chip wrappings in the dresser draw.The tub was not cleaned in the morning raising cleanliness issues. No paper or pen to write with.

It was a bit disappointing...minimal TV programming, no internet access, no hair dryers, small bathroom, parking was difficult . However, being on the beach was a huge plus!

Oceanfront balcony made this the best vacation ever. September weather was perfect to open balcony door with cool ocean breezes. In hot summer I would be forced to use the wall unit AC and they are noisy interfering with ocean sounds. Free parking garage is a major plus for this location in a resort town. If you love being close to ocean without the sand, you will love this hotel.

The bed was old and shot, there was construction/remodeling going on and had to listen to the work all day long. Bathrooms were a joke, you could barely get in and turn around to close the doors. NO wi-fi. If you wanted it you had to go thru a third party company and pay about five dollars an hour or ten a day, We went over to Starbucks just to check on our business emails. No pool, We were so dissapointed we left a day early and paid to go to another place just to try and get some enjoyment from our vacation. And the coffee they served was so watered down it was a joke. Overall the worst place we have stayed at in a long time.

It was our first time in Rehoboth. The walk wasn't too far to the main part of the boardwalk and Rehoboth ave where most of the shops and restaurants were. The room is outdated but clean. Thin walls. The front desk staff was not friendly and looked at you like you were a bother. Easy access to the beach. I would stay again if i had to but, we prefer being closer to the fun.

the hotelmanager steve was extremely nice to make our vacation more pleasurable.

Right on the boardwalk, with parking provided, we walked everywhere and never moved our car. Our room was average, nothing special about it. We did see one roach, which is the reason for the lower cleanliness score, but otherwise was clean. Every room has a balcony which is nice. Overall great location with very average accomadations.

We had the most amazing uninterrupted beach and ocean view from our balcony up and down the coast as far as we could see. This ocean front room was very large with 2 queen size beds and a couch sitting area. It has a large bathroom with double sinks and separate shower from bathtub. The entrance lobby is very nice and tasteful, recently decorated. The elevators are also nice and the indoor parking is ample and convenient. The hallways to the rooms are very disappointing with huge trash cans by the elevators that have a "service back door feel to them". Unfortunately the rooms are a bit run down and not as clean as I would like them. Front desk service was excellent . Location is the best with a spacious beach, and a very short walk to restaurants and shops but far enough to be quiet at night. Skip the continental breakfast if is served in the ground level room: Very depressing. Overall: I loved the view and will certainly go back if I can get an ocean front room.

Location was ideal. It would be nice to have different options for breakfast. I would have like a piece of fruit; apple, banana...I'm not a ceral, poptart, or bread person, so other than orange juice (from a bag) and coffee, the breakfast was less than desirable. The additional lock inside the room was broken, there were only 4 clothes hangers (for two people). The hotel has soda machines on each floor. Coke, Nestea and water were the options, but there was never any water in the machine.

The front desk service was mediocre at best, we were doing them a favor by being there! Did not expect two loose keys to tossed on the counter and the woman to say "Here you go, oh and you might have issues with the keys". This hotel is the last on the boardwalk, expect to walk to get anywhere. Take a small car as parking is tight, dark and sparse. Don't expect any help from the front desk, they are more worried about phone calls and other people.

this was our 4th time at Henlopen - we love it. the employees are very accommodating and you just can't beat the location. Just two items on my wish list for Henlopen. Outdoor showers like they have for the condo owners and couples WITHOUT children being able to use the condo rooftop pool. Only after Labor Day when so many of the condo owners have already left for the season.

We lucked out completely! Booked a standard room and the girls at the front desk upgraded us to a King Bed with an oceanfront view! Aside from that they had to be the nicest staff we'd ever encountered in a hotel. The rooms were beautiful and had a wicked shower! Had a great time!

Older hotel but it was clean and quiet. Rooms aren't big but if you plan to spend all of your time on the beach it is fine.

For the price, I've stayed In better places.

I read reviews of the hotel online before I arrived and prepared myself for the worst. needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised. the rooms were a nice size for two adults, two children, the refrigerator is on the larger size of a standard mini-fridge and the complimentary breakfast was very convenient to grab-a-bite on the way to the beach! but if i HAD to complain I'd let others know the air conditioning unit can get a little loud, bring your own pillows if you like extra and for stronger coffee-brew your own :) despite my personal preferences... two thumbs up!!

Great location terribly run down. Would not stay there again.

Old hotel and run down. It needs some work

Overall we were very pleased with our stay at the Henlopen Hotel. The location can't be beat - right on the northern end of the boardwalk, just steps from the beach. Free, convenient parking so we could leave our beach gear in the car. The beds were fine, but bedding could be upgraded. Bathroom could stand to be remodeled (towel rack fell off the wall). But overall, the hotel was just what we were looking for. No frills, but more than acceptable.

This hotel is pretty ugly and barebones. Very little effort is made to make it pleasant or inviting. The location, however, is fantastic.

Great, location was awesome, staff was helpful. Would definitely stay there again.

Needed swimming pool. Breakfast was less than desireable. Prepacked muffins, Pop Tarts, and milk very poor for such a property.

For the most part very satisfied. The only negative was that the a.c. units were very loud, otherwise we enjoyed our stay and would return!

The hotel itself is aged and could use updates to its cooling system in the rooms. But it is located in a great spot and the beach is nice. I think it is overpriced given it is farther down the boardwalk and the tired appearance of the hotel.

I thought it was quite adequate and would stay there again. It is a bit far from the center of the boardwalk, but we enjoyed walking and don't mind exeercise. There seemed to be a restaurant at one point, but it was not in operation. That would be a plus. They did offer continental breakfast. Can't beat the location, right on the beach!

From the description on the website and the price point I thought that it was a higher end hotel, it was not what we we expecting at all. No wi-fi in room, the room did not have a view of the beach, we had a view of the parking lot. The beds were comfortable.

I was very pleased with our stay. The staff was extremely pleasant and helpful. The hotel was a little dated, but very clean. Excellent location, just steps to the beach.

The room was very clean.. it was perfect for an overnight trip with the kids to the beach. Right on the boardwalk and steps from the beach....

Others have written "old hotel," which is true. But Atlantic Sands falls in that same category and Boardwalk is overpriced. We enjoyed our stay. Not too many hotels on the beach in Rehoboth and this one is as good as you can get for the price. Rooms are small, though.
