The bed was lumpy. Breakfast was not the greatest.

We stayed last year, so we knew what to expect. Action City is fun for the kids, but i little expensive. Buy the family package for the best deal. The water park is nice, but not great compaired to Wisconsin Dells. It is better for 12 and under kids.

Had a great time, rooms are small. Beds are not comfortable, and the AC makes a lot of noise when you're trying to . However it was too stuffy not to have it on.

After booking here we needed to purchase arm bands for the waterpark. WHAT?? Totally unacceptable when you pay that kind of money that the waterpark was a additional cost.

There was only one person at the front desk. He was very nice but there was more work than he could do. When we got to our room, we couldn't turn on the lights. We called the front desk and got an answering machine. We went down to the front desk and were told you had to place the key in a slot in the room (which we could not see in the dark. and we were not told this at checkin) to use the lights, tv, etc. Luckily we had a flashlight and found it. Then we turned on the lights and found that the TV didn't work. We called the front desk and got an answering machine. We went down got another room and that TV also didn't work. Finally, we got another room with a TV that worked. The breakfast is worth skipping even if included. We were very disappointed that after a 600 mile drive we had to go through all this additional hassle.

We have visited the Metropolis Resort in the past and were quite satisfied. Now things have changed and was not very pleased. The "free" breakfast is a joke. The kids went down first and they brought the food back to the room because there were no places to sit. Shortly there after, my husband and I went to breakfast, all the hot food was gone except for a few eggs. Things were very disorganized and if you found a place to sit it was very dirty around you. On Monday, breakfast was missed and the kids got down there around 9:30, you would think breakfast would be served until check out, which is 11:00. Unfortunately we do not plan on being back because our room was dirty as well. I must say that most of the staff was very pleasant.

Overall we enjoyed our stay as we wanted to bring our 3 and 5 year old boys for a wknd stay that they would enjoy. Both of them enjoyed both the water park and entertainment center. There is also a Dairy Queen on site and a few other options for concession style food. The breakfast was ok but they had a little bit of a hard time keeping up with the demand. Typical breakfast of waffles, scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, cereal, and muffins. Breakfast gets a 2 everything else was good to great. Design of hotel seems a little too modern for a place catering to families and kids.

Rooms are nice. The Waterpark was closed the entire three days we stayed for cleaning, and we were not aware of this at the time of booking. Also, in my husbands words, the breakfast "Was not worth the walk there."

Nice place. They didn't have the room type we reserved so we were upgraded. Only negative is the breakfast could have been better.

We didn't use the resort facilities but the hotel itself was very clean and the room very nice. They tacked on a resort fee, which they don't tell you about, so it was a little more than I thought, but overall it was still a good value.

beautiful yet economical. water park for kids. I was there for a conference but will be back with the whole family.

it would be great for a family get away. I stayed because of the convenient location but was very impressed. my room was beautiful and very comfortable - would have liked to stay longer.

Overall enjoyed staying at the Metropolis except lots of highway noise from Hwy 94

We had a king studio and I loved the way the room was laid out. Very contemporary feel to it. Very clean. Location is convenient off the highway, although that can also be a bit of a drawback. Lots of families and kids and noise accordingly - we expected it. Breakfast was pretty decent, but a bit chaotic. Overall great stay and good value. We have kids going to college there and have stayed at many places and this ranks as one that we will return to.

We were down in Eau Claire for a night and brought our children, ages: 9, 5, and 6 months. The resort was very clean and the staff and service was excellent. Majority of the staff that helped us were teenagers but the service they provided was exceptional as they were very helpful and made us feel important. The resort itself was very clean and updated. Chaos water park is smaller than most water parks I've been to but it met the needs of my children since they were younger. I believe they said the deepest part was under 4 feet. Action City wasn't too big but again met the needs of my younger children. The kids really enjoyed the indoor go-kart. We'd definitely stay here again.

the hotel rooms were cool, each were decorated in a differ way....They were promoting to be green and save the planet, they all had a fridge, mircowave and a little table area whichwas very nice!!

Very nice, fun & clean hotel. Especially for this area. We have stayed in several other hotels in the area only to be grossed out or disappointed. It has a very unique layout but that just added to its charm. The water park was nice & a good price. The breakfast was pretty chaotic as the hotel was full at the time of our stay but was decent once you got the hang of it. (And can you really complain when it was free?) I was also impressed at how clean our room & the whole hotel was.(And I'm very particular) They even cleaned every arcade games daily! Overall, I would recommend this hotel & we will definitely be staying there again next time in town.

If you've got kids, this is the place to go. It's a kid's Vegas. Very clean. Staff was friendly and attentive. I'd go back.

I would expect all of the extra thrills to be included with a stay. I requested a room with a King bed only and ended up with two queens and they wouldn't change our rooms. This is not a really big deal but the parking lot was empty that night so I don't see any reason they wouldn't accommodate us. A warning for Online reservations, the hotel wouldn't print us a receipt because we booked online.

The only thing is the platform beds - we hit the base of the platform bed several times resulting in many bruises on our shins. Everythin else was wonderful.

Nice enough hotel, but no "wow" factor. Kids had a good time at the water park. Didn't try the amusement park side.

My friend and I stayed in the hotel for business. We came to town early, and were welcomed by a very early check in, with our choice of 1st, 2nd, or 3rd floor accomodations. We loved the room. Very stylish, extremely comfortable, and very clean. We did not use any of the play options, so I will not comment on those, but the room was awesome, the staff was very personable and helpful, and I would definitely stay again!

The staff helped us out in a big way when I accidentally booked for the wrong night. They helped us work out the problem much to our satisfaction! Looks like a fabulous place for families with children, with the indoor water park, video arcade and electric go-carts; and outdoor putt putt golf.

We love the hotel, it was an accident we stayed there because of a heat wave and my family needing some air conditioning but turned out to be a great place that was affordable and my kids loved the waterpark!

I have stayed here before realizing it is a water park and might be noisey, but the hotel is well insulated and noise is not at issue. The continental breakfast leaves a lot to be desired. The eggs look so bad, I didn't bother taking them. Decided to fight the waffle machine and peel a waffle pile off the grill. Don't come for the breakfast unless you want juice and coffee. They have added a remodeled bar and restaurant with a decent menu. Food was good. Nice to be able to have dinner without leaving the hotel.

We asked for an early arrival time since we had a wedding next door at Florian Gardens and the desk staff was able to accomodate this for us. Thanks Some people have complained that the breakfast is "in the arcade" when in fact it is in a room adjacent to it in a room dedicated specifically for that purpose. We found the selection to be pretty decent considering it is included in the cost of the room. The staff made sure that all items were available right up until the closing time making sure everyone had all food options during the entire time. The room (standard-flat) was large and comfortable. Traveling with our 13 month old grandson the fridge and microwave were a great bonus. We did not take advantage of the waterpark or arcade during our stay so I can not comment on those. They were remodeling the current lobby bar during our stay so we did not stop by for a cocktail and it looks like they are planning a new version in the near future. All and all... if the chance arises we will stay at Metropolis again whil in the Eau Claire area

My wife, 8-year-old daughter, and 1-year-old twins stayed for 5 nights, beginning July 4. We were impressed with the spaciousness and cleanliness of the hotel room. The hotel is connected to a water park (appropriately named Chaos) and to the Action City arcade. These facilities are extra. We used both and enjoyed these activities. The hotel has plenty of room for improvement in service. Some of the staff were very helpful, but others not so much. This was particularly true at breakfast on the first morning (July 4). It was a bit of a mad house as they were quite busy and were running out of food, coffee cups, plates, etc., when we were there between 9:30-10:00. Breakfast service stops at 10:00 and by that, it seems they want you out by 10:00. They were out of eggs and fried potatoes when we arrived and we waited for them to bring more. When they brought more food, there were no more clean plates. Others came back for seconds so the hot food disappeared before more clean plates arrived. We asked if they'd bring more food and they said they stopped serving at 10 a.m. We also asked for clean coffee cups as there hadn't been any there from the time we arrived. We were told we could go to the hotel lobby (about 100 yards away) to get clean cups there. We asked to see the manager who was helpful in getting us some cooked food and clean coffee cups. Another evening, I asked what time the bar closed and was told they closed at 11 pm. I left to get some take out supper around 10 pm and when i returned about 30 min later, I stopped at the bar hoping to get a couple of margaritas to take to the room. There was a person cleaning up the bar and she said the bartender left early because they weren't busy. She did offer to sell me a draught beer, but couldn't make any drinks. Several times, little things like this happened which individually were minor annoyances. Still, for the price we paid for the room plus free breakfast, plus free internet, it was a decent value overall and

Waited 45 minute's to check in. 2 people in front of me, employee seems to not know what's going on, screwed up my reservations. Tv did not work, no one there at 11 pm to fix it so we couldn't do anything but stare at the dirty dusty room. Extra $10 a person to go swimming, even for my 11 month old son, and myself to watch because I had a cast on my knee from my knee surgery. Not at all satisfied with this hotel!!!

We chose this hotel to have access to waterpark. Specifically asked if the $7 charge covered waterpark and was told it did. Arrived at hotel and waterpark was not covered. Of course paid extra for the waterpark (children in tow). Then the majority of the waterpark was closed for unspecified reason. And the waterpark was not that impressive for the cost. The hotel room was clean. Beds are fairly dangerous with the sharp corners frequently catching someone's shin. The hotel had a wedding reception and we were on third floor but the noise from the wedding and individuals in the hallways and parking lot continued until 3 in the morning. For the money it was not worth it. I would rather stay elsewhere and just walk in to the waterpark (for the same price I might add). Overall a disappointment. Was hoping for a nice relaxing weekend of water fun....just spent alot on a hotel room.

Unusual ambiance, on a Monday, not a lot of kids, if I was 12 I would live for the Action Center

The hotel was clean and nice, but no where did it disclose the pool was extra until after we checked in.

My wife and I stayed at this resort for an overnight break in the middle of a long drive. While the resort is geared towards family (attached water park, batting cages, etc.) we loved it as a couple without kids. The rooms are extremely spacious and modern, and they are equipped with beautiful HDTV's. I was disappointed that room service is not available anytime after 9pm. I'll stay here again next time I travel through the area.

I have stayed here a few times and was quite satisfied. I can not say the same about my last stay. First the room was not clean. I could see the layer of dust on the back of the sofa, must not have been wiped down in a month. Second, I was very disappointed in there breakfast change. They used to have custom made omelets which I thought were great and one of the reasons I stayed there. There continental breakfast is now at best no better than all the other places in stay in the area. The rubber like eggs were a real disappointment. The waffle irons had to be rotated twice and the length of time recommended meant both sides stuck to the grill. Won't seek this place out anymore when I go to Eau Claire.

Pretty cool concept for decor. It was like the Jetson's set was moved into the hotel. Very clean and convenient. Continental breakfast was a bit lacking, though pretty on par with most hotels of similar rates.

VERY NICE NEWER HOTEL. KIDS LOVED THE WATER PARK.

The rooms are a art deco style room. Large room with King bed and full sofa. Love it.
