Steigenberger Herrenhof fulfilled every expectation that we had. It was perfectly placed in the center of Vienna, nice (but expensive) breakfast. Serviceminded staff, quiet room during nights, air-condition. Everything clean and tidy. Recommended!

This was a fairly late booking as I was going to be stranded due to flights. The hotel was very efficient when checking in and out and the service was excellent. My only gripes were a slightly shabby shower cubicle - one sliding door was off its runners and the seal was loose - and that the restaurant was full at breakfast on the Saturday morning, but I could still get seated in the cafe area for a lighter breakfast. I would definitely stay here again.

The location was amazing. Contemporary and convenient luxury. Great room size.

In January, I stayed another hotel which was nice as well. But I have made this hotel booked because it had very good marks. Stayed for three days this time and I recommended to my friend. He has booked it as he knew they have branch in Germany and he liked their hospitality.

Our request for two connecting rooms were met. Both rooms were very large. There was an early hickup with one of the rooms where both of the key-cards were not working. Other than that, the hotel is very nice and in a very strategic area. Watch out for the parking fees around the area. (it is the standard for inner city parking for vienna of Euro 38/day)!!

This is a great hotel at an excellent location. Staff is well trained. The few glitches: - you are not told that garage use is at a charge and moreover if you need your car during your stay they charge for it again - if you use the roomservice they charge an additional fee on top of their already steep prices - we drank on the last night 6 glasses of sekt in the bar which in terms of quantity less than a bottle (0.6 l vs a 0.75 l bottle) but the price of the 6 glasses was a third more than a bottle. We politely noticed it to the staff but she came back and told that the head of the bar refused our request to charge the bottle price since we asked for glasses not a bottle. In my view they shouls either upgrade their bar software so that it is capable to handle such "problems" (which should not be a problem should they use 21st century technology) or make glass prices proportionate to the bottle prices. To be fair, when I mentioned this during checkout next morning, the receptionist was far more sensitive to my request. All in all, bearing in mind all these small issues we spent there a great time and I would recomnend this hotel to everyone who can live together with those small glitches.

Great hotel. Location was excellent, right in the heart of the city, and a subway stop 50 feet away. The hotel was nicely decorated, always very clean, and the staff was very knowledgable. The room looked great, with several large mirrors, and the spa & excercise room downstairs were great (the spa has a sauna and steam room). The bathroom was beautiful as well, with a separate toilet from the main bathroom. The one dislike was the bed - the mattress was very firm and we did not like the European feather pillows; they are clumpy. Apparently all hotels in Europe have these though....

We really enjoyed our stay at the Herrenhof, room was lovely, big comfy bed. Hotel breakfast was amazing, loads to choose from and great service. Only thing we didn't like was the fact that people are allowed to smoke in the entire bar area but that is standard in Vienna(very annoying for non smokers) so not unique to the hotel. Spa area is very nice too. Would definitely recommend staying here, very central to main tourist attractions too.

Everything was just perfect! Position, services, environment, neighbourhood!

This is excellent hotel that is located in the middle of all attractions, you can walk to everywhere. The room, we had superior but it was too small with no desk so we paid extra to have a deluxe room which was much better. Front desk people were very helpful in telling you where to go, out of front door and one block down you are at the palace, 5 minutes walk to opera house. Although opera was sold out, the concierge managed to get 2 tickets from us. You can't go wrong with this hotel in Vienna.

I would definitely recommend the hotel. I am from Ireland and stayed there with my mother and sister. The hotel was in an excellent location. It was beside main tourist attractions, shopping and excellent restaurants. The bedroom and en suite shower were gorgeous. The only criticism I would have is that food is very expensive (eg 16 euro for a club sandwich, 5.50 for a quarter glass of wine) and there is no swimming pool.

great hotel in a clean and nice area, next to underground metro and quite a few great attractions. Hotel is clean and friendly but by no means it is a five star . I would rate it no more the 4 star rooms are smaller compare to american standards , and you can hears the next room's bath use . staff is friendly and willing to help in any way . Food menu wasn't very appealing but there are tons of eating places around there is no activity within the hotel and through our stay hotel's gym and pool were closed for repairs.

The hotel location is brilliant. Walking distance to all the main sights and great cafe. Could not be better located. For a 5 star hotel the service was indifferent. I have never been charged 30 euros to check in early (before 2pm), they did not provide turn down service, did not replenish the anemities and the concierge was completey indifferent never offering a full answer or address, just waved us off after a very brief answer. Awesome location but the service was not up to par for the price or rating of the hotel.

Wonderful hotel. Staff let us check in at 7am when we got in, even though check-in isn't until 3pm. They helped with directions and map to explore Vienna. Room was clean and modern. Location is within walking distance of most sights in Vienna.

the hotel was extremely easy to get to via public transportation. An underground stop is almost right across the street. The hotel is within VERY easy walking distance to st. michael's square. it also has great access to several restaurants that are right nearby. We could walk anywhere and everywhere we wanted to go in the four days we were there. We actually went to the hotel bar twice - as it was one of our favorite stops in Vienna. I would recommend giving it a try at least once - it's open very late.

We were delightfully surprised with the look of the actual hotel rooms...like a trendy NY boutique hotel...on the smaller side, but with hip, up to date furnishings. The hotel staff could not have been more helpful and courteous...we would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to friends and family.

Overall the hotel was very good. My main issue was with the room itself. I had requested a queen size bed, and none were available (only in smoking rooms). I arrived late and had had no dinner. The minibar was empty except for water and soft drinks. The main problem however, was the innefectiveness of the curtains. I woke up at 4 am, with sunlight streaming in through the windows, and ended up getting up at 6 am as couldn't sleep with so much light. While this is obviously not a problem in the winter, I would suggest taking an eye mask during the summer, at least until the hotel remedies this problem.

The hotel is in an excellent location, right in the centre of Vienna which for a city is lovely and quiet, so you don't have any concerns that your room will be noisy. The hotel is immaculate. We had a superior room on the 6th floor which was lovely, and a good size, with a very modern bathroom. Breakfast is very expensive though. We paid to have it the first day, but didn't bother after that, as it was ok, a bit 'stuffy' in the restaurant and very over-priced I felt. With so many lovely coffee shops in Vienna we opted instead to have coffee & a pastry mid morning which was a much better option, as you really don't have to walk far from the hotel to come across your first cafe. Overall though would recommend the hotel as an excellent place to stay whilst in Vienna.

The staff was always helpful and made our trip so comfortable. All of our personal and business needs were met.

Everything great. The only item ~ and it was small ~ was I had an iPad and iPhone. Your front desk helped get the iPad working and I got the iPhone working with wi-fi. Both stopped getting wi-fi after a few hours. I believe settings were correct for 3 days. Great hotel, location, etc. and I would definitely recommend.

The hotel Steigenberger Herrenhof Wien is close to public transport and close to everything you could wish for. The only downside where the split mattress in the queen size bed. Joining two beds together does not make a queen in my book. Other than that it was brillant.

We had a wonderful experience at the Steigenberger. Very helpful and friendly staff. Great little Gym. Very clean and comfortable. Worth the price.

We loved our stay! We were there just after Christmas...the location was IDEAL to see everything. We were able to walk everywhere. Staff were friendly. The room was nice/modern, and the bed comfy. The steam and sauna didn't go on until 4pm (but the staff would turn it on if asked-1 hr to heat up). Fabulous hotel in Vienna!

Nice modern hotel with very comfortable beds as one would expect from a 5 star hotel. Located very close to the Palace and shopping streets and right next to a U-bahn stop (which is just 3 stops away from the train to the airport if one is traveling by public transport). The hotel looks as it does in the official hotel photos. It is quite compact though - smallish reception area, bar located in reception area (not really used by many guests). Overall a nice modern hotel, but would expect more from a 5 star hotel. Room smaller than expected. Our room was located on top floor, which was a dormer level of sorts, so windows quite high up meaning not possible to see out of them. This combined with little space between end of bed and wall made the room feel more claustrophobic. Would recommend requesting not to be located on this floor. To turn off air-conditioning one must open bedroom windows. Room rate included free mini bar - mini bar is not refilled though and contains very little (2 juices, 2 waters, 2 minerals and 2 beers). Very few toiletries. Great to have kettle in room but very few tea/coffees for a hotel of this class, no milk. Shower floor/tray stained + shower cubicle a little smelly. No bath in bathroom, but overall very nice bathroom (albeit small) with very large shower cubicle and power shower. Staff could have been more friendly and helpful at check in. Overall this is a comfortable modern hotel in a good location within the city, with rooms containing all required and expected facilities. I've said I'd recommend this hotel to a friend, but would only do so if they wanted a comfortable bed in the centre of the city. I certainly will be exploring different hotels to stay in for the price when I next visit Vienna.

Superb location for central Vienna sights and very close proximity to subway station. The hotel interior and rooms are very modern, comfortable and well equipped but no local character - pitched I guess more for business travelers on expenses than tourists. The hotel reception and bar staff were very helpful and friendly at every encounter. We did not try the restaurant but plenty to choose from nearby. Notably the Cafe Central for breakfast. The hotel is good value with advance booking terms. I would stay at the Steignberger again.

Hotel staff were great! Location perfect. Little pricey but well worth the stay. Very clean too.

All in all, this was a great hotel - excellent service, very comfortable accommodations, and knowledgeable staff who were fluent in English. The room rate was quite reasonable. The breakfast buffet was very extensive with excellent quality food, but the charge for breakfast was pretty steep.

Friendly staff, spacious and clean room...very comfortable, pleasant experience. Great location for seeing the city center. If you're not a walker, you can catch a carriage just 2 blocks away. Our stay was only 2 nights and didn't try the dining room. Had a family wedding to attend and move to a location closer to that, but really happy we stayed here first.

Excellent hotel at excellent location. The staff was VERY kind and supportive in many different areas. The location is 50 meters from the metro and 100 meter from Michaela Platz (city center, wlaking street).

This hotel is in a fantastic location, just around the corner from the UBahn and the Imperial Palace. The staff was pretty good, As seems to be common, one would speak great English and be able to give great dining recommendation and the next would really struggle with communication. The rooms are large and very comfortable and they included Wifi.

Location, location, location..... Just the breakfast, a bit pricy but other than that I would recomment this hotel and stay again in the future.

We only had to cross the street to get from the train station to the hotel. The breakfast was pricey but very good with everything one could want. This hotel is close to all the main sites in Vienna, we walked to everything!

Centrally located and short walk to most of sites we wanted to visit even at night. Staff very helpful. Room comfortable.

This hotel is simply amazing. I highly recommend it to any traveler going to Vienna. One note about the wireless internet: when you sign on to the internet, it prompts you to pay for 24 hours of service. To avoid paying, do one of two things: 1. ask for the internet access code from the concierge when you check in or 2. charge it to your room. I did the latter and was not charged since they will provide the code to you if you ask.
