Will not be staying there again

the room was too small for a king. it smelled like old chlorine.it was a smoking room with no ashtrays and when asked for ashtrays was told they ran out but there was never one there to start with 3 small pillows when asked for more was told again they ran out. parking was unreal.

The stay at econo lodge was pleasing. We were near to all the sights that were exciting and fun to attend. The rate for staying at the hotel were very reasonable. The econo lodge was realy close to the beach and the veiw was awesome.

I was staying somewhere else at the time but booked it for my family so they could come to our beach wedding. After the wedding they went back to the room and they were not pleased with the way the room looked. They didn't even unpack. They turned around and went next door to the days inn. They said it was much nicer and a lot cheaper.

The best things about this hotel are a nice ocean front location and a nice complimentary breakfast. The rest falls into the average catagory at best. This location needed a little TLC in the general maintainance and cleanliness dept. We stayed here only 2 nights and I didn't expect much in the way of room service, but it would have been nice if they had just stepped in to replace the complimentary coffee packets for the coffee maker and empty the trash .

I've seen bathrooms that were bigger than this room! Brunt lamp shades, terrible odor, LOUD, NOT ocean front!! I'm 6'1" 225lbs; the bathroom is so small that I had to back in it..I could not walk in and turn around because it was so small! The refrigerator was utterly fifthly and disgusting. The towels felt like sandpaper. The "hot"tub was ice cold. HORRIBLE experience! I'm thankful it was only for two nights until we checked into our usual resort.

enjoyed the hotel.. staff was friendly and helpful.. breakfast was good for me, not a big breakfast eater. took a bit to learn to operate door. room clean hotel was nice just needs some remodel it been at the beach for awhile. Perfection location right at ocean close to stores restuarants. prices was excellant.. very quite my GPS done very well took me right to hotel.. Only bad thing didn't like parking not enough it has parking in garage but didn't want to part their not made for big vehicles. Will b returning again next yr for vacation.

Won't stay here again. Small is a mass understatement. Noisy. Dirty. "Spa" is in the underground parking lot.. Only plus is that they allow pets.

Customer service was ok. After raining all night the lower parking garage was filled with water up to my ankels. The hotel had a bad smell in hallways and pool water was not clear. The rooms are in bad need of upgraiding. However, they are very pet friendly.

For a hotel that is right on the beach, I expected it to be a bit better. I've stayed in some much nicer Econo Lodge hotels before. This place is very rundown and I hadn't realized that it had outside entrances to the rooms. I was disappointed that we didn't have our own balcony. Also, the size of the room was smaller than I had expected it to be. I was not satisfied with this hotel and I will not stay here again.

Everything in the room felt damp. Stains on the sheets and towels. Thankfully, I brought my own bedding. Hairs stuck in the towels. The pool was green. The guy running the place was rude to some of the customers. The building was in very poor condition.

Expected the worst, hoped for the best. We were pleasantly surprised and will frequent again. Staff was great, comfortable room and being right on the beach. Very good experience!

There were some maintances that need to be done for a room that my wife & I were not able to stay in. The room that we were given to us; behind the toilet there were a leak from the bottom/base, had to get a battery for the remote, the towels had stain on them, and the room need to get a face-lift. The price, the staffs is great and helpful, but I believe this hotel can bring in much more customers with lively, warm welcoming colors. Hope that the money will be invested in upgrading in the near future.

for the price it was very nice the people were very helpful room comfortalble.

Needs alot of work was not clean at all . Elevator did not work and we had to walk stairs to 5th. floor.everday. We would not have stay there if we could have found some where else to stay.

the location was great. Hotel was right on the beach. The condition of the hotel was not to be desired. There was no phone in the room. The room smelled very musty. The surface cleaning was done but the deep down cleaning. I don't think was every done. The ladies cleaning the rooms were very nice,giving us items that we need and cleaning up our room every day that we stayed. The hotel is just not a middle of the line or top of the line hotel. I would not stay again

This hotel is very old and the outside needs some TLC. However, the rooms were very clean but they do need updating. The rooms are a bit small especially for a family of 4 and a dog, but the service was great and the rooms were cool, quite and clean. We were supposed to get a ocean front view but ended up just getting a side view but the dog walk was just outside our door and that was great! If you plan to stay for more than a week with a dog I would suggest a better location but just for a week it is right on the beach and on the strip with all the sites! We were very comfortable but we did not spend much time in the room. The staff was very kind to not enter the room while we were gone so not to upset our sweet pooch. Our dog enjoyed the stay as much as we did and I think he even gained weight while staying the staff always left him a dog biscuit on our clean towels they left out side our room each day with a tag that said "For Oreo" Love the Econo Lodge Staff. I will be staying here again if we ever go back to Myrtle Beach again.

We found the room to be comfortable, decent, and clean. The refrigerator did not work; but, we had a cooler. The location was very convenient to everything we needed access to; and, we were just steps from the beach. Overall, it met our expectations, and we are thankful to be able to get a room at last minute notice---at a very good price, too!!!

It wasn't a BAD hotel..it's just old and it shows. Cheap cover up in the bathtub....VERY small bathroom! The room was clean and it was cheap..really all I was looking for.

I wasn't expecting a 4 star hotel but this was really a disappointment. Ocean view for us meant overlooking the black tar roof of the building next door out to a "glimpse" of the ocean. The elevator area smelled so awful (urine), the elevator was full of water and sand. The place has not been kept up from the sand and salt air. It was just run down. No coffee maker in the room either. That's important for coffee drinkers.

I really enjoyed it and wish I could have booked more time.

Pleasant stay. This is the 3rd stay for my family.

it was awful and we will never stay here agian. The rooms were run down, the items for the bathroom were not stocked so we had to go to the front desk and ask for what we needed. The people around us was so loud we had to turn the ac on high and leave the tv on all night so we could try and sleep. There was people out at the pool drinking beer. The bathroom was so small you couldnt hardly move in it, the beds were old and nasty. the only one good thing about staying here is we only stayed one night.

Biggest roach I had ever seen crawled out from under the bed! I'm talking like an inch long! The location was good but the room stunk!

It was a great place to stay for college kids. It was definitely worth it to have an oceanfront view and the room was very big. The location was great it was close to the strip and was minutes away from grocery stores. It wasn't the nicest hotel but it was definitely great for what we paid.

I actually enjoyed my stay. Ocean front room,continental breakfast,clean pool and microwave/fridge/coffee maker in the room were what we needed. I came armed with my own disinfectant and it did need a wipe down here and there and the appliances were old and had rust spots but they worked well.Location was perfect and the staff were very courteous.Definitely not a 5 star hotel but certainly fulfilled our needs....I would stay there again.

So it was ok for a short stay we were there for 3u nights and by the last night I was Soooo ready to leave the junk hole. The hot tub is not hot its just a more of a heated pool.... the shower was horrible the hotel can not handle the water output showers were cold. The neighborhood is horrible u could smell the drugs. Never stay there again

we don't stay in the room a lot on vacation, we simply need a safe and clean space to rest our heads. saying this the room was fine, it was clean the staff was nice. beds comfortable. could sorta see the ocean if you went in the hall and leaned on the balcony. neighbors were sometimes loud since the room was cheap the customers were a lot of collage kids parking area not so great, parking was tight. this is not the best hotel I've stayed at in Myrtle Beach, but not the worst. there are so many other hotels in MB, I would most likely try another next time unless this one just happens to be reasonably cheaper than any others.

Worst hotel experience ever!

This was our first visit to Myrtle Beach so we weren't really sure the 'right' place to stay. The rate was amazingingly inexpensive so my expectations weren't real high. Upon checking in the desk clerk let us look at our room first. It was ok but they allow pets on the first floor and I wasn't comfortable with that so she offered us another room. We looked at it and it was clean & tidy and fit our needs just fine. This is by no means a 5 star hotel, it is a beach motel that has seen years of guests. It is seeing it's age but in decent shape. We were in the room to sleep & shower. We spent our days at the pool & beach. The full size refrigerator came in handy to hold the leftovers from dinners out, which in turn saved us $$ on lunches! :) The motel is on the beach & about 20 blocks or so from the Grand Strand area, almost a 2 mile walk. I would recommend this motel but ask to see the room first.

We were very pleased with the hotel. The elevator could have used some updating. The room was very clean and had everything we needed. Will definitely stay there again.

the room was ok however when i checked in there was a lot of housekeeping and maintance equipment in the room. It was being used for storage apparently. When i called the front desk no one answered so i went down and the guy did appoligize and removed the items from the room, however everytime i tried to call no one answered and everyone that called to get in touch with me got hung up on. For an affordable room on the beach overall it was a decent place to stay.

Lets start with the pictures of the hotel on the web, they look pretty good but in reality the hotel is very old and in bad condition. It is very very run down, unkempt, dirty, it smells terrible. The room was so bad we felt dirty just walking in. The shower was disgusting and all we had was cold water. When I dried off with the towel I had a long black hair stick to me-ick. We couldn't wait to get home and wash everything we took there (including long hot showers for us). We were stuck staying there because we prepaid on hotels.com. It is not worth the 20$ you save to stay there. it is the worst hotel we have ever had the bad luck to stay in. DO NOT STAY HERE IT IS REALLY BAD!!!!!!

It was a last minute trip and the rates was great the room was very clean and the location was right on the beach

Hotel is ocean front. Access is via public entrance ways. Hotel is old perhaps built in 70s. Rug was musty smelling, old but decently clean. Room size is late 70's style (small). Small building compared to other hotels nearby. Room entrance/window faced the Days Inn which looked eye appealing. The price of the room I believe was relative to it's location-not because of the ambience or quality. If I didn't need to be a few steps from the ocean I could have gotten a better hotel for this price downtown. Continental breakfast was okay. Based upon the posted reviews I expected much better quality.

overall the room was fine,clean and the bed slept good,but the pools suck,advertise hot tub,not one to be found ,water in a small pool but CERTAINLY NO HEAT. leave it to the familys living there,spend a little more get what you want,I WILL FROM NOW ON.

the hotel is right on the beach. Even though it was the holiday weekend it was quite and there was plenty of "FREE" parking! The staff were freindly and the room was clean. The hotel is older but still in good shape. The a/c was fridig to say the least. overall worth the money and I would recommend this hotel to you and your family if your looking to save some money!

This was the worst place I have ever stayed. The room had an awful smell!!! The room was small, cramped and the bathroom was so small that the toilet was practically in the shower. Never staying at another EconoLodge again!

We wanted to take a last minute trip to the beach for cheap. We chose Econolodge and it fit the bill just fine. The rooms are small but comfortable. Having the fridge and micro were a plus for the price. The hotel itself is pretty old and worn but fine nonetheless. The room was clean, the staff was nice, breakfast was convenient if not varied. I had trouble connecting to the hotels wireless but managed to connect to the hotel next door. If I had the money I would probably stay somewhere more luxurious but I would definitely consider this hotel again. I liked that it was a smaller hotel and quiet and ON THE BEACH CHEAP!

The sink was clogged in our room. The fridge didn't work. Started to work overnight while asleep and all of our food froze. Pop machine stole my money. Couldn't take a bath. Only a shower. Only good thing was that it was right on the beach. Wouldnt reccomend this hotel to anyone.

A hotel on the beach. Literally on the beach for a reasonable price. Not the most "updated" place. Not the best continental breakfast (but it was FREE). But the best location at a reasonable price. PS: If there is a 'better' hotel for $20 more - spend the money.

The mostly people looking for a good location &good price,this hotel is a right place to visit...
