Best Western Hotel am Spittelmarkt - برلين

Nice modern hotel with comfortable if modestly sized bedroom and efficient bathroom. Great location in a quiet area but within walking distance of some main sights in the Mitte district. Room was too warm but opening the windows helped. Didn't have breakfast in hotel; there's a great cafe opposite which did lovely Greek yoghurts, pastries, rolls etc and warm drinks. Luggage lockers cost 1 euro but worked well on final day.

Clean, friendly staff, only 2 minutes to the next subway which brings you to every relevant place. Many things are accessible on foot (Gendarmentmarkt: 10 min; Potsdamer Platz: 15 min; Reichstag/Brandenburger Tor: 25 min and much more!). The breakfast (buffet) is 9€ extra per day and person (which was in the hotel description, so no surprise there), but there are 2-3 bakeries adjacent for a cheaper breakfast.

Very good value for the money! Room was large by European standards. Hotel right in the heart of all of the development taking place in East Berlin. Easy walk to all of the Berlin sightseeing attractions, however, it is a distance to city west shopping.

We had a 3 night stay at the hotel - location was a very convenient 3 minute walk from the Spittelmarkt U-Bahn station, welcome was efficient and friendly with excellent English spoken. The room was spotless, with plenty of space, and a cable for free internet access. The only down-sides were the mattresses in the very narrow twin beds which were sagging in the centre - and the noisiness from the car park in the night and at 5am when a delivery van turned up with loud music blaring. The breakfast buffet was excellent - absolutely everything you might want, and it was always easy to find somewhere to sit. The hotel is basically just rooms and breakfast room - but that's all you need in such a busy and varied city. Would definitely recommend the hotel, and in fact we've booked to go back in a few months.

The Best Western Hotel at Spittelmarkt is clean, comfortable, reasonably priced and in a quiet location only a couple of minutes from the nearest underground station. This is on the U2 line linking Alexanderplatz, and beyond it the Prenzlauer Berg district, to Potsdamer Platz. The shops, bars and restaurants of the eastern part of Kreuzberg are within easy walking distance, and you are only a stone's throw from Fischerinsel, at the southern tip of Museum Island. Our room was perfectly adequate, with wide-screen TV, well-fitted en suite bathroom and a safe. We could have done with the bedroom lighting being a little brighter for reading street maps and the like. At reception you can pick up a plastic box with a kettle and tea/coffee sachets. If you don't want the hotel's breakfast, there's a baker's on the other side of the street where you can get good coffee and filled rolls as well as croissants etc. As in many parts of the city, there is some construction work going on the the area, but we were not disturbed by this during our stay. The hotel has storage lockers where you can put your luggage on your final day, if you're not leaving till the afternoon or evening - you'll need a 1 euro coin for these.

the hotel was really everything you need in a hotel clean rooms and friendly staff. I only have one criticism of the rooms and that was that the double bed was not a double but 2 singles pushed together however over night they tended to slide apart, not a major problem but a bit of a pain. The hotel was in a reasonable location very near an underground stop and in the same area as lots of sights if it had have been summer rather than winter it would have been easy to walk to them all but the underground is easy enough, that isnt a criticism of the hotel but the cold. we didnt try the breakfast as it was 9 euros a day, when we walked through the dining area it looked very nice but just a little expensive for us. overall the hotel was nice and clean all thats really needed

Good & quiet location, ATM right outside the main entrance and UB-station nearby, friendly staff, room was quite small but comfort & clean

2 minutes walk from the Spittelmarkt undergound, Checkpoint Charlie 15 mins, so not a bad location to all attractions. Clean & pleasant - Didn't have breakfast so can't comment. There are a couple of cafe opposite & a Spanish Restaurant which are all very nice. Would stay here again

Great value for price. A little off the main line so to speak, but easy to get to by subway

Amazingly inexpensive, while being clean and comfortable. This hotel has the best shower I've ever been in! It's small, but has everything you need, including a hair dryer, a make-up mirror, TV, air conditioning, computers in the lobby, a safe, lemon water to drink available at all times in the lobby, wash cloths and toiletries at the desk if needed, and bikes for rent. Great location, and the cafe across the street has an outstanding breakfast!

Really clean and great for the price. Close to a U-Bahn station and a delicious Tapas Bar right outside the hotel. Two bad points,the beds are like cots and not good for sharing plus if your breakfast is not included in the price dont use the hotel, dear and not the best. Overall very pleased. Staff helpful and friendly. Rooms nice also good bathroom but weird shower door! Would recommend if you want cheap clean and cheerful.

We were very pleased with the hotel - staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean and comfortable. It's no Ritz - white walls and no pictures - but it's functional and good value for money, which is what you want. The location is great - a short walk away from the centre of Berlin, and very close to the U-Bahn station for when you're too tired to walk home. Our only gripe was that the third bed wasn't a proper bed, which wasn't ideal as we had booked a three-bed room as opposed to 2 bed with a camp bed, but it was fine for a few nights. We thought the cost of breakfast was a bit steep,but there is a lovely bakery across the road which was a good (and cheaper) alternative.

The hotel was clean enough, but not in a very nice neighborhood. The room was OK, but after a long day of touring, there was no place at the hotel or ourside the hotel to sit and relax. You had to go to the room. Felt very shut in.

Nice clean, modern and well-sized rooms. Position was great couple minutes walk from the underground. Stars of the hotel were the front office staff - extremely, helpful and sincere. Would definitely stay again.

This hotel is very modern & clean, with elevators, a great breakfast buffet spread - extra price, but great selections. Tapas restaurant across the street is a wonderful, relaxing place with outdoor patio and great staff. We ended up there every night for happy hour or dinner or both - loved it! Hotel is in Mitte, very convenient to everything you want to see in Berlin - either quick walk to Ubahn line, or just walk to sights.

This was my first trip to Berlin and this hotel was great. The surrounding area was under construction at the time, but the noise level was not bad. The hotel is walking distance from Museum Island and the U-bahn subway system. There is a coffee shop across from the hotel too. The staff at the hotel were very nice and spoke english very well. The breakfast selection at the hotel was great too. The breakfast was a little expensive but there is plenty of food to eat. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Fantastic place, great german breakfast. Ms. Stephan runs a first class operation. My son, who lives in Holland, and was travelling with me. He left his laptop computer in the lobby by accident. when we realized it was not in his possession some 4 hours later, we went back to the hotel, and it was stored safely behind the front desk. I was blown away by that, and needless to say, my 24 yr. old son, who's entire business is in that laptop was greatly relieved. Thanks to a great staff and terrific management, a nightmare was avoided, and we had a fantastic time in Berlin, in large part to the accomadations. THANK YOU

the rooms are in well condition very new. very close to the u-ban station and several minutes of walk from alexanderplatz. the surronding is a bit noisy in the mornings because of construction work nearby. also there are slaming doors in the morning if you try to stay asleep after 9am because the cleaning lady doens't watch for the noise. even so the hotel is very comfortoble and the service is great. free internet connection in the room (no WIFI) and computers with free access in the loby.

Cannot fault anything about this hotel. We arrived about 11.30a.m and were able to check in straight away even tho we werent meant to check in until 2pm. It was clean, modern, comfortable and warm. Friendly and helpful staff. Well worth the money and it wasnt expensive.

We were overall very pleased with the hotel, its appearance, staff efficiency and helpfulness. Our only disappointment was, late one evening, hoping to find some refreshment, we fond the hotel could only produce chocolates and sweets. We appreciate that Best Western does not offer a catering service other than at breakfast but surely it would not be too difficult to provide some fresh fruit which must be in store somewhere because of the breakfast the following morning. This problem is exacerbated in a city like Berlin where supermarkets close early.

We stayed in 8 places while on a 13 day trip through Germany and 2-days in Austria. Of those 8 places we would rank this one number 2. Very nice place, almost looks brand new. Fob card access rooms and exterior doors. We were in a building separate from the main office, which was OK because of construction happening near the main office. Room was very short walk to office, very quiet room, very large and comfortable room. Had a towel warmer, which worked well for drying clothes that we washed. Probably the nicest shower (pressure, access and size) that we had on our trip. Staff was extremely helpful and spoke excellent English. However, we spent a lot on transit and walked alot because it is located on the fringe of all major attractions.

Although it might be hard to find restaurants around the area,the hotel is relatively new. The price is reasonable. Besides,we booked two family rooms and we thought they might just add one bed.But the room wasn't too small. And it's not far from the station.

We booked a smoking executive room with double bed but ended up getting a disabled smoking room with two single beds pushed together. We were also told at reception that it was a non smoking room when we had booked a smoking room. There was also no bath in the bathroom and this was one of the questions i asked the receptionist. On various occasions there was also no ice available at the reception bar.

A very pleasant room - simple, but spacious, and with everything one needs. I especially appreciated the free internet connection for my laptop, and the availability of air-conditioning in the room. It can get pretty hot in Berlin in June/July/August. The bathroom was modern and lovely - The hotel staff very pleasant and helpful. The location is great - a pretty easy walk to Nikolaiviertel, Alexanderplatz, Unter den Linden, etc. For those who are unable to walk, there is a subway station right around the corner from the hotel, from which you can get anywhere, quickly. The hotel offers breakfast, but there is also a good bakery across the street where you can get good coffee, pastries, sandwiches. And next to this is a fabulous Tapas Restaurant, with lovely outdoor tables in the inner courtyard. I had a great stay here.

Great value, very clean, very spacious for a European hotel. Only thing that could be improved upon is that there's no wi-fi, only cable internet, which was nice and free.

Convenient to 1 subway line, but S-Bahn connections were out of service the whole time we were there. No signs at exit from U-Bahn to hotel so walked in wrong direction with luggage for a while before finding the hotel. Breakfast buffet was expensive and room very crowded with business travelers and bus groups so very noisy. Nothing except one bakery and one pub within in immediate location of hotel. Forced to take public transportation or walk a distance for even a snack. No real bar or lounge in hotel - just a few (5) stools in tiny lobby where you could get a drink, but not sit and relax. Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable, but only 2 straight-backed desk chairs to sit in which wasn't very relaxing in the evening after a long day of sightseeing! Bathtubs were extremely high to climb into to get to the shower, so ask for a handicapped room if you cannot climb over obstacles well. Nothing for children or families. Staff was polite but not very friendly or helpful with arrangements or information.

From Tegel airport you can catch a bus to Alexanderplatz and only 10-15min walk or catch underground tube the hotel is between two stations - Spittelmarkt and Markisches Museum.

this hotel was very close to public tranportation, the staff was very nice and helpful, and we could walk to find good places to eat very easily. Within 10 minutes by walkiing we were in a very nice square with all kinds of food and a mueseum and two old cathedrals..I highly reccomend this place

Lungt ganska fint område dock utan större utbud av restauranger(Såg 3 i krokarna). Hotellet va toppen, bra standard och hotellet kan inte va mer än max 2 år gammalt. Allt såg ut som nytt. Bland de finare rum jag haft på hotell och jag reser väl måttligt. Nackdelen va sängarna, de funkar men är man van med en en mkt skön hemma så är det svårt att bli helt nöjd på hotell. Om man vill använda aircondition-apparaten så är tips att ta med öronproppar, om man är känslig för ljud(samma på alla hotell) Går att öppna fönstren annars, men det kan va nån enstaka lastbil som väcker än tidigt(stänger man fönster så hör man inget utifrån den annars mycket lugna gatan) Internet i lobbyn va gratis och mkt snabb(finns wifi o gratisdatorer att låna) -finns även uttag för nätverkskabel på rummen. Jag kan boka samma hotell igen, ligger bra till för mig som gillar att va nära centrum. Berlin är stort så man är ofta nära "centrum" vart man än bor dock.

På dette hotellet fant vi det vi trenger. Rent og ordentlig uten unødvendig luksus som vi allikevel ikke bruker når formålet med oppholdet er å se byen. Grei betjening, Flott frokost. Stille og rolig

Das Hotel hat insgesamt einen sehr positiven Eindruck hinterlassen. Die Zimmer waren sehr sauber und qualitativ hochwertig eingerichtet. Im Badezimmer gab es sogar eine hoteleigene Duschlotion ohne Parabene, was für Allergiker sehr außergewöhnlich ist. Das Frühstück war sehr vielfältig, wobei man bei den ein oder anderen Platten (z. B. Tomate-Mozzarella) den Eindruck bekam, sie wären bereits am Vorabend hergerichtet worden. Insgesamt war das Angebot frisch und lecker!

Bra läge, gångavstånd till de flesta sevärdheter. Bra och riklig frukost. Sängerna är enligt min uppfattning för mjuka.

super fint ophold - madrassen i sengen dog for blød , trænger til udskiftning.

Topp opphold men dårlige senger !! kan byttes ut. Eventuellt også ha minibar på rommet

Dejligt nyt hotel tæt på Unter den Linden, Alexanderplatz, Friedrichstrasse mv. God morgenmadsbuffet. Eneste minus er, at baren ikke er særlig stor eller hyggelig.

Toppenfräscht hotellrum. Hotellet ligger på lagom promenadavstånd mitt emellan Alexanderplatz och turistfällan checkpoint charlie. Mycket lugna kvarter med flera trevliga smårestauranger i närheten. Frukost ingår inte men även om man lägger till en kanonfrukost för 9 Euro per person så ligger priset på nästan hälften av vad man skulle få betala för något liknande i Stockholm! Rekommenderas alla som vill ha ett bra, billigt och tyst hotell att sova på och tar barhänget på stan.
