Palomar San Diego, a Kimpton Hotel - سان دييجو

The next day was the exact opposite. Checked out around 11:30 took the elevator down to the lobby. The front desk guy told me that "the only charge was for the valet parking spot which costs $36 would you like me to charge it to the room? I say "no thanks, I would like to pay cash". He calls the valet guy and says my car will be out shortly. 20 min later still waiting for my car to arrive. I asked what was taking so long? They told me that they were going to check on it. 10 or 15 min later they came back and asked me if there's a certain special way to start the car because it's not starting up. I said, "no, it just starts right up". So they tell me that the car won't start etc. then I say did you guys leave the light on overnight? So they call back the guy that was trying to get the car started and it was confirmed that they left the lights on.. I was able to determine that, when I was 4 blocks away from the car. 1 hour passes and I'm still waiting couldn't help feeling like I was being jerked around by these valley guys who were just standing around shooting "it" with their co-workers. More time passes and one of the valey guys shouts to me from across the street and said that they got the car started and it will be there shortly. I give him the thumbs up.. 20 minutes later the exact same guy that told me that my car was started and will be here shortly pulls up in a car that was NOT mine. I'm an extremely patient guy But this is the last straw. Passed

very convenient location. swimming pool very noisy (ventilations). good service for breakfast. I was missing of coffee brewer in the room and a bathtube instead of a shower. Very expensive for what was delivered.

We headed to San Diego for a weekend getaway from Calgary, and scoured the hotels in the area. We found Kimpton and our search ended. Upon showing up, we were impressed from the moment we pulled into valet parking. The staff, make that all of the staff are outstanding. Chuy is the man. The hotel is beautiful, great size, beautiful decor, and the rooms are incredible. Spacious, with dark hardwood, lots of room for two, and possibly the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. Being a techie, there are a lot of plugs for iPhones, iPads, and more so you are fully charged when you hit San Diego. The pool area is incredible, great bar, lots of comfy seating, and again super friendly staff. The location is awesome, you are literally in the heart of gaslamp area, grey restaurants, drug stores, coffee, everything you need outside your door. Being in this area you expect noise in your room but it was silent, which let you get a great sleep. The bathroom is spacious and modern and plenty of room for two. We loved this hotel and will stay here again. For some background, my wife and I are early to mid-thirties.

A great hotel with a luxurious feel to it. Had a suite that was large and well planned. The shower was amazing. But they need to clean behind the curtains. A big cloud of dust came towards me as I pulled away the curtains from the windows. They need more electrical outlets, or move the ones they have, so that I don't have to look for them behind the curtains next time I stay there. They could also spruce up the balcony with some decor.

Hotel absolutely stylish; very friendly staff; room size big; perfect and soft beds, a dream to sleep! Every time again!

All was great, the cleanliness, customer service, staff memers, bartender, etc. Valets were extremely accommodating on our request to get our sun glasses from the car and the front desk in storing our luggage in order to fit in another activity on our schedule. The only uncomfortable item was the bed. It was a little saggiy at the head. Maybe it was a bit worn. My husband got a backache. Other than that the rest of the experience was good. Thank you for the hospitality.

The hotel was quite nice and the staff was very pleasant. It was too bad that we had an issue with hot water in the bathroom, to which the hotel "reset the circuits" twice to try and fix the problem. We eventually had warm enough water to shower in, but it was never a comfortable temperature. It was an unacceptable inconvenience and the staff would not allow us to change rooms to remedy the problem. That was unforntunate, considering that the hot water was an issue multiple times during our stay. This would be enough for us not to stay at the hotel again, which is unfortunate considering how easily this could have been fixed. Bummer...

Great staff. From the valet to the front desk, everyone couldn't have been any more hospitable and friendly. The room was fantastic, very clean and beautifully designed. People say the area is not so desirable, but I come from a major city and it's fine. I would definitely recommend and return to the Palomar SD.

The staff was extremely nice. The hotel looks nice. Very dissatisfied with the room. It was very small. The restroom door was see through and didn't closed all the way. No shower door at all which was a little strange. Not quite sure if I would stay here aging. Maybe at a larger room.

We liked the modern stylings in the rooms and the lobby. The service was very very good and professional from front desk staff, to valet and bellboys to concierge. The only slightly negative thing was that the room we stayed in was a bit small and cramped. It was not easy to move around the room, open the closet door, etc. But overall we had a great one-night stay seeing a show at Copley Hall within walking distance.

We were here for an anniversary trip, and the staff was incredible. We brought our dog with us, and he was provided a nice bed, bowls, and food, not to mention the staff was so sweet to him. Our room was beautiful! The staff was superbly helpful. FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE!

Great hotel centrally located in the gaslamp quarter. Walking distance to good restaurants and shopping. If you like to party this is the area to be in. The area can be packed with partiers on the weekends. However, we weren't bothered by any noise in our hotel room. We faced the street and not the pool side which might be noisier. All in all a great getaway at a nice hotel.

The Staff of this hotel are exceptional and they did a great job making us feel comfortable and welcome.

Stayed in the Skyline Suite with a balcony. The hotel, the staff and the service here were phenomenal. Our major complaint was the room. It was not very well designed for a suite and the balcony did not have any furniture - so it was fairly useless. The living room area contained couches that could not fit our two friends who came to watch a movie and the space could not fit another chair without blocking the TV or the walk way. Except for the room, the hotel and staff were amazing. Beautiful rooftop pool!

It was a nice hotel, but when I checked in the room had not been cleaned so they switched me. The next day I realized the tv in my new room didn't work. The third day I went downstairs for coffee (available 6:00 AM - 9:00 AM) around 6:45 and the coffee wasn't set up yet. Nothing wrong on the 4th day!

The location is convient to Gas Lamp, convention center, little nich cafes. The rooms were a bit small, part of our "view" was the heating and ventalation systems for the hotel. We have stayed with this hotel group at other locations and really enjoyed the stay, this time was disappointing.

I stayed here for 9 nights for a conference and film festival in October 2011. I found the location very central to the convention centre, restaurants and theatres although the neighbourhood itself is on the border of Gaslamp District and has many homeless folks. The staff at the hotel made every effort to make my stay comfortable, allowed me to keep my bike in my room, and sourced out a coffee maker and MP3 player alarm clock when my room didn't have one. The pool rooftop deck was stylish and inviting - with a busy bar on the weekend. I also got free lift to the airport on my departure with their hotel Escalade SUV (with my bike). I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the hotel for those looking for a hip decor, trendy bar, comfort and great service for a fair price. Good value.

Hotell i USA er generelt dyrt, også dette. Men, dette ligger meget sentralt i forhold til alt. 100 m fra alle småbarene, 50 m fra trikken som tar deg enten til Mexico (..anbefales ikke) eller til Old Town (..et av de opprinnelige San Diegos). Fine frokost steder med gigantiske amerikanske frokosttallerkner. Rommene er greie og fine. Be om å få rom høyt opp og du ar en kjempeutsikt.

Vi var missnöjda pga följande: 1) rummet - stämde inte överens alls med storleken. Tror att vi fick det minsta dem hade... 2) Poolen - när solen väl kom fram dit på em så blev alla solstolar upptagna... 3) Städningen? Jo de bäddade och bytte handdukar, men golvet var fullt av damm och fjädrar från sängen 4) Personalen gav ett gott första intryck men det visade sig att de inte hade fullständig kontroll på den information de gav oss (ex hyra av bil)
