The Nines - بورتلاند

Hotel staff was excellent in every way. Location to dinning, entertainment and shopping is excellent. Enjoyed utilizing the TriMet rail line that provided inexpensive, convenient transport to so many locations. One issue with room, unchanged bed linens, was immediately addressed by manager on duty and generous compensatoin was offered. The benifits of staying on the 12th floor are worth every penny spent to upgrade!

The Nines is: super friendly (from the doorman to wait staff at Urban Farmer), stylish (in a good way), respectful (no maids banging on the door until 10), and great location (can walk to everything). Only complaint was temperature of room where I couldn't get it cold enough (in April when it was cold outside) to sleep comfortably, but I would totally stay here again.

I had higher expectations of a five star hotel that was this spendy. It looked very attractive online but it was like that hot new club that all the cool kids go to. Had I known that, I would have stayed away. They have the most ridiculous elevator system that is ineffective and keeps you waiting. Rooms were nicely furnished and beds were comfortable but rooms were also very small. Our toilet got backed up and the water pressure in the sink was practically non existent and temperature was difficult to maintain. Back to the elevator again, needing to have your room key to get to your floor - having to slide it into a slot in the elevator - was a huge pain. It didn't always work...I watched other guests struggle with it. Again, I get it...you are exclusive, but can't you find another way to keep things secure that doesn't inconvenience your guests? Will stay at the Governor next time...they have it down to a science.

Sonor isolation was very poor, heard neighbors making all kinds of noise starting around 4:00AM, cleaning lacking supervision, nothing like a four season or even a Sofitel. Quality of in rooms breakfast was very poor. No bathrooms robes nor slippers. Basic channels on TV, Motel 6 has better offers Rooms are too bright at night due to lights in the Lobby, even with curtains pulled. took 1/2 hr to retrieve car at Vallet....Definitly not your typical Luxury Hotel

Everything about this hotel was fabulous. We will definitely stay there everytime we are in Portland!

Your web site was misleading. You advertised two bed room and two bed room on atrium. I paid for the two bed room thinking it was a city view. Turns out both rooms were on atrium. Hotel insisted it was on atrium side. Felt misled.

Young and energetic but without the pretense. Service is wonderful.

My wife and I stayed at The Nines because of its beautiful interior design (from their website). We had a discounted rate so we did not pay as much for the room(although it was still well over $200). It was the first for both of us staying in a "luxury" hotel so we had high hopes. The hotel itself (lobby, service, valet, ect) were excellent. The room however, was a HUGE disappointment. The décor/design and color scheme was beautiful, but there were way too many "suspicious" stains on the their furnitures (specifically the sofa). We could not believe that a hotel like this would allow such a filthy furniture to exist in their rooms. The comforter/duvet also had stains on it. Their bed only had a fitted sheet and a comforter (no flat sheet and only 2 pillows). So, for what we came to expect, this was a definite disappointment. Luckily we didn't pay the full price for the room, but even with the discounted rate, this hotel was still subpar. We stayed at the Westin Hotel just around the corner from here a few months ago with much cleaner rooms for half the price. As far as the location, parking is pretty much $40/day or plan on parking 3 blocks away from the hotel for something a little less expensive. You are however pretty much located in the heart of downtown so if that's your plan, then this location is great. Overall, I would not recommend staying in this hotel unless you need to use it for a specific reason and hopefully for a substantially discounted rate.

Nines can't range for 5 star, only location convenience to all venue. Other than that nothing good. With my experience to many countries, only can range 3 star. Near by there is Hilton Hotel which I will recommend to others, 5 star hotel, with cheaper price, big lobby and have own parking lot. Just 3 blocks away from Nines. While Nines reception area was so tiny and on the 8th floor, no parking lot, everytime have to line up outside the busy road.

loved the fact that the way the hotel and room were decorated was not like every other hotel you stay in. Everything was exceptional. Not a single complaint. Be sure to go to the deck on the 15th floor for an amazing view.

This is a great hotel choice in Portland. The place is clean, perfectly located, and nice size rooms. The workout room is one of the best I have seen at a "city" hotel. And we had a great weekend rate from hotels.com!

Expensive valet, almot 40 a night and no coffee in the room, but great hotel and nice people.

Our stay at the Nines was sheer perfection and quite enjoyable! The only negative was the girl at the reception desk for the restaurant/bar at the top of the hotel. She was very rude and told us that there would be at least an hour wait, while the gentleman standing next to her said he could take up right away! She did this to all patrons! She has dark chin length hair and black rim glasses! She should not be working with people!!!!!

A really stylish hotel with a cool contemporary decor and great service. From check in to check out everything worked flawlessly here. Staff is really friendly and helpful. Rooms are elegant and cozy. The bed is super comfortable and the bathroom is also great, roomy and with great water pressure. The lobby is on the 8th floor and it has some nice artworks and an atrium with chairs and sofas for you to relax and enjoy the nice environment. The location of the hotel is also great. Walk two blocks up to Alder Street between 9th and 11th and you will find a really big food truck pod, which is the best way to explore Portland's famous street food scene.

Saw lots of MLS players there in town for a tourney. Hotel was great, everything we hoped it would be for a romantic night in Portland.

The hotel is in an old building so the rooms were small but done up very nice. I had a king deluxe. Service was good. Breakfast in bed didn't happen because nobody picked up our door hanger. Ordered fruit in the a.m. which was mediocre. For $20 they should serve something nicer than a handful of cantoloupe and strawberries. The upstairs restaurant is nice, really popular. Don't go there hungry. It's tapas, so most everything is sold singularly. $4 for a single skewers?! Why would you do that? Seriously, who is seriously satisfied with ONE skewers? Overall, nice location, nice room. Will return but with a hefty picnic basket!

This was one of the best hotel experiences i've ever had. Very professional and friendly staff. The room was beautiful.

Great location, right over Macy's. I loved shopping, it included Ross, Nordstrom Rack, and Forever 21, walking distance. The rooms are very beautiful and the design throughout the hotel is gorgeous. I would definitely recomment it, for any occasion.

I chose the Nines because it was the highest ranked hotel by stars on Hotels.com (4.5 stars) the hotel itself is beautiful and the valet/ check in employees were very professional. Everything was looking great until we got in our room and noticed the chez lounge sofa was covered in male bodilly excression stains!!! We were both disgusted and immediately called down to inform someone. They denied it. I took pictures. There is no way it was anything else. I demanded housekeeping come up and they completely agreed with us. There was no doubt what the stains were! I called again and they sent up a new cushion. They didn't apologize, offer us a different room or a discounted rate or anything. They just sort of brushed us under the rug. Not what I expected from a high class hotel.

We have found our new favorite place to stay in Portland...

We really enjoyed our stay here and will definitely be back.

I was taken back by the fact that there was no top sheet or blanket on the bed; Just the bottom sheet and the duvet. (We found out later they will provide a top sheet if it is requested.) To top it off it was one of the most uncomfortable beds I have slept in in a long time. It was an inter-spring that is well past it's replacement time. Woke up every time I turned over due to the creaking springs. Our room keys were deactived and had to be reissued the for the second night even though our initial reservation was for 2 nights (We weren't the only ones). We received slippers the second night but had to chase down someone for clean glasses. Our used ones were taken but not replaced. No robes. I was very impressed when walking into the hotel and initially entering the room. It went down hill from there. Way too many $$ for what we got.

Very nice friendly staff. I had a dog with me and they were very accommodating with dogs as well. The room is very nice with a large marble bathroom.

The Nines is a very posh hotel, clean and the rooms are great. I enjoyed have a room facing the inside courtyard, much less noisy than the streets. The restaurant Departures is great but very expensive for the amount of food you get. I would suggest a drink and some small bites (sushi perhaps) rather than dinner. Just my two cents!

On the whole our stay at The Nines was great. The location is awesome. It is right at the intersection of a number of MAX rail lines, next to Pioneer Square & Pioneer Place, and is walking distance from pretty much all the destinations and sights in the Downtown area (Pearl District, Cultural District, etc.) For some people, the bar scene might be a little too exciting with so many people going up and down the elevators late at night and rowdy and possibly drunk crowds awaiting you at the entrance when you come back to the hotel. But none of the commotion made it onto our floor so it didn't bother us. The one weird thing about our room was that it was on the inside of the building, with windows overlooking the lobby bar and Urban Farmer restaurant. This wasn't necessarily a problem, but no natural light comes into the room and it felt like 4AM even when it was 8AM. But that is only a minor complaint in what was an otherwise great stay at a stylish hotel.

The desk staff was wonderful, surprising me with birthday chocolates and a card inviting me to take advantage of their amazing customer service. Would, and do, highly recommend this hotel to my family and friends. The view of pioneer square from my room was amazing!

I never write reviews but this hotel was so awful, I feel I must warn others. I don't even know where to start, the tacky decor, dirty carpets, unreliable elevators? But by far the worst part of the stay was the room. There were no top sheets on the beds! Just bottom sheets and a comforter. So disgusting, do I need to say more?

This is our 3rd time staying at the Nines. And once again a fantastic stay. Customer service is above and beyond and the rooms are perfect. Why stay anywhere else

My husband, parents, and I travel to Portland every October to stay at the Nines and enjoy what the city has to offer!! The Nines is centrally located thus you can actually park for the weekend and walk everywhere including the waterfront, markets, mall, Pearl district, raved about food carts and so much more!! The Nines staff are very helpful in providing ideas for meals and outings and if they don't know they know how to find out for you. One thing we didn't love was the Urban Fair restaurant wasn't amazing (would not eat there again) considering you also have the choice of Departure lounge which has an Asain like theme through out their entire menu and offer both Vegan and Gluten free options. Both restaurants are located within the Nines but there are so many choices of every type of food imaginable close to the hotel. Overall we will most likely return again next year if the pricing stays the same or drops down... If they charge anymore in the future we will find another chic and modern clean place to stay. Hopefully not though as the decor is beautiful damask with a brighter version of Tiffany's blue/tourquise and brown accents; more importantly the beds are extremely comfortable.

The hotel was great, very nice rooms, great location. I think the staff can be friendlier - espeically with the number of people working. We stayed at 2 hotels in Portland, and the other had much friendlier staff. The only complaint - $39 for one day of valet parking. The valet expense was more than the daily fee for renting the car. Most hotels in the area have expensive valet parking, but this seems ridiculous.
