Under construction, some noise, pool not working yet, restaurant food ok. Short walk to 'fish fry' where u can buy local food average $12 plate. Older building but clean. Felt safe in hotel & area, but did not venturing out at night. Internet in lobby, weak signal in room at best. I would stay there again.

The Flamingo Bay Hotel & Marina at Taino Beach is a cut-rate hotel that is only worth the low rate advertised. The online website depicts a much more upscale hotel than it is. Although basically clean, the rooms are rather old and, in some cases, initially missing the basic necessities (i.e., lamps, phone, towels). The hotel employees, though, are most pleasant and eager to help. In fact, after expressing my displeasure a few times, they went out of their way to move me across the street, to the Time Share facility owned by the same company. The location was good, as was the on-site restaurant, Taino By The Sea. The hotel, itself, has no amenities; but guests have access, although somewhat inconvenient, to the Time Share pool and beach.

Very unfriendly staff; it's all about selling time share, if you don't buy, they will let you feel it. Breakfast buffet was disgusting. Location however is nice, rooms are simple, but okay

Very relaxing, quiet location, great rooms with self-catering options backing on to a beautiful marina. Access to all resort facilities and walking distance to restaurants, fish fry and different beaches. Highly recommended. On site restaurant decent.

Housekeeping staff worked only when they wanted. I had to request services almost daily.

It was very nice to see everything they had to offer. We went there not knowing what we were in for and all of the offerings were way beyond a simple hotel room. Resturant, Bar, beach ferry to Lacaya and very friendly and helpful people. Dale

Other than the ability to access the beach, pool and restaurant belonging to the timeshare/rentals in the adjoining facilities, give this place a pass--no bedside lighting, no working TV, plumbing was decrepit, doors were warped, refrigerator did not have a freezer.

Overall, the hotel met all my needs. I purposefully booked a discounted hotel. Purpose of travel was only to visit family and friends, so little time was spent at the hotel. However, I previously read mixed reviews about the front desk. In my case the front associate was able to check me in to our room early, and was relatively friendly. I do consider service an important part of your stay, since my decision of future booking often relies on the quality of the hotel and the service of the staff.

there is a problem with real estate people trying to take you on tour when you check in any trip to basic market will involve travel by boat that is one hour time interval

me and my girlfriend stayed there for two days one night and loved it. it was so calm and quiet.

We were greeted by a very personable staff.The time share people were not that intrusive.This hotel shares facilities with a very nice timeshare/condo complex.Therefore you have the use of a fabulous pool with a section over 50m with lanes for lap swimming;there is also a great beach;all within 200m.The room included a small kitchenette that was not cleaned by maid service;the aircondioning could have been stronger.We did not eat on location ,but there were many good reasonably priced restaurants .The food has gotten better on Grand Bahama Island

It scared me because this hotel was so cheap, but everything in hotels.com as far as description, price, amenities, etc., was correct. The rooms were clean and the staff was helpful. The ferry to the Marketplace was literally steps from the hotel. There was a time share salesperson, but all you have to do is say "no, thank you!" But they did give us tickets to our choice of attractions (I highly recommend the catamaran saling boat/snorkling adventure!) The location to the beach and pool was great. We had a harbor view from our room. I give this 2 star hotel an overall solid '4' rating. I would stay again.

We were most pleased with our Flamingo Bay experience. First, the price was exceptional for what was offered. Location is decent...a five minute water taxi ride takes you to the Lucaya market and reasonably priced also. Desk staff were superb. Collette was wonderful, and Adrienne did a great job orienting us to the entire place. I noticed a couple of reviews rated their room low. Ours was very clean, comfy and quiet. No complaints. The hotel is across the street from the beach but no matter. This is a resort and it includes all the amenities one might expect. Restaurant that offers a setting right on the beach..this was the up-side. Perhaps it's just us, but we were not super impressed favorably with any of the meals we had in Freeport anywhere. It was OK, the restaurant included...But it was made up for with other features. The resort was begun in the seventies and is well maintained. Sports facilities include ping pong, volley ball, shuffleboard, and an impressive array of other attractions. Glass bottomed boat, snorkeling boat, jet skis, para-sailing. One of the most singular features is the massive pool, largest on the island. Clever sunken bar, beautiful landscape...very nice. When we make it back to Freeport, we know where to stay.

the stay overall was nice. the staff especially Collette was very helpful. they tried to trick us into a time share presentation. they call it an orentation to the hotel, with free breakfast. we made our position pretty clear and the sales person Elvis understood our position. the time share people seemed to catch an tude with us and started to act very cold. but who cares.

It was our last night on the island after being at a timeshare for the week. It was affordable and the staff was very nice. You have access to a fabulous beach, restaurant, pool with swim up bar and an awesome slide, tennis court which they will supply you with raquets/balls, and a water taxis to the popular Port Lukaya Marketplace. The room however, although clean, was very run down. This motel is owned by the timeshare adjacent to it. They really need to put some money into new beds and bedcovers. I am sure that travelers would rather pay a couple of bucks than sleep in a run down hotel. Service, amenities and food we rate a 5, condition of hotel room we rate a 2.

the hotel is very well located, very close to the beach, wonderful beach and landscape, swimming pool quite fabulous, at teh hotel, there is a marina where u can park you boat if u r luky enough to have one. hotel close to all attractions,few minutes from port lucaya, easy to get a cab around if needed. i had a great trip!

I really did not know what to expect when I reserved this low cost hotel. But it was clean neat. a bit dated. it shared amenities with the resort across the street which offered a hugh pool and beach . voerall , it was much better than I expected.

L'albergo è inserito nel complesso più ampio del Taino Hotel e ne utilizza la struttura (piscina, spiaggia, ristorante...). Si trova un po' isolato e per raggiungere ristoranti, bar, negozi è necessario utilizzare il servizio navetta a pagamento (5 $ a testa, andata e ritorno) che parte ogni ora. La connessione internet è disponibile gratuitamente nella reception dove però ci sono solo due poltrone e quindi è necessario sedersi per terra. La spiaggia è a circa 10 minuti a piedi e almeno quando ci siamo stati noi non è stata pulita. Noleggiano moto d'acqua, mentre le escursioni per lo snorkeling e la pesca d'altura partono dal porto. L'angolo cottura è rappresentato da un forno a micronde, frigorifero, tostapane, macchina del caffè e stoviglie. Non c'è un fornello, tavolo o sedie. Il supermercato è comunque piuttosto lontano e non facilmente raggiungibile, mentre gli elementi essenziali per prepararsi una colazione o un toast sono acquistabili anche nel baxar presente nella reception. In sintesi, visto il prezzo contenuto può andare bene, ma quello che si riceve è in linea con quanto si paga.
