and it was adequate...safe, clean enough...not elaborate.

I visit or pass through Dubai regularly and have used a range of hotels there. This time I thought I would try HIE for an overnight stay. No problems here. Staff were efficient and friendly, room was comfortable enough, food in the buffet restaurant in the evening was limited by choice but good, and the surrounding area was pleasant enough with some new eating places/shops just around the corner. 10-15 minute taxi drive to the airport. Would have no hesitation in staying again.

1 poor maintenence of rooms 2 no room service 3 no guidance or help from front counter 4 had to wait 2 hours in the lobby for the half day tour 5 standard of breakfast to improve 6 should have take away menu of restaurants/cafe as there is limited choice of a la carte for dinner 7 items like sewing kit,shaving kit,bathing soap etc noy provided 8 have been around the world and had experience of at least 50-60 hotels but this was the worst hence do not recommend any friend to stay here

Clean hotel, but no free wifi....

The staff was very helpful and the hotel very comfortable. The buffet breakfast could have been more substantial.

Holiday Inn Express is ok if you have to spend most part of your time in Dubai on work or going to beach or shop till you drop. Not many places nearby, but not too far from Mercato Mall on Jumeirah Road. Breakfast was good and rooms were clean. Negative point - Expensive internet cable connection. No wireless in rooms, have to come to lobby. Staff can be more efficient and helpful.

The staff was very friendly and helpful and hotel is not far from the prime location and beach is maximum 5 min away in car

My wife and I live in Abu Dhabi, but wanted to stay in Dubai for the night, so we basically searched for the cheapest hotels and this was one of them. We couldn't really complain about the hotel, but we could not rave about it, either. The decor in the room was dated and it had an old-school TV with about 20 channels and poor reception. The bathroom was quite small and they only had shampoo/toiletries upon request. The breakfast in the morning was okay, but they had a nice hot coffee/bev machine, which was great. Overall, the stay was decent, not great, but the hotel staff was very nice and the bed was pretty comfy. Next time we stay in Dubai, we will probably spring for a hotel in a more happening area of town, though.

Booked last minute! Not bad for price paid. Good service. However you will need a taxi to get to anywhere. The only places within walking distance (10 -15 minutes )are the mosque and the public beach but even for that you probably want to hail a cab as its unbearably hot especially in summer.

Nice location & friendly staff. Value for money. The hotel does not provide drinking water in the room. There is a 24hr store nearby, where one can buy water at a reasonable price. Limited pure veg options for breakfast. Excellent staff!

Holiday Inn Express in Jumeriah is a good and clean place to sleep something like 2 to 3 nights. It is a clean and decent place. However, dont expect to get any food of qood quality over there. Food is honestly horrible, open buffet lunch was such a bad experience I never had in my life, meat was smelling and chicken was over cooked that it can break your teeth. Breakfast was horrible as well so dont expect to have any good quality food there.

My boyfriend and I stayed 5 nights in August and had a lovely visit. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet is alright. It consists of toast, butter, cheese, tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, croissants, three different cereals, two different kinds of juice, coffee and tea. The one thing this hotel lacks is a pool. We were there during the summer and it would have been nice to cool off in a pool during the day. There is a bus stop about 300 meters from the hotel and it's also easy to get a cab and very cheap as well. Within walking distance is a number of streets with shops selling just about everything. Jumeirah mosque is very close and it takes about 10 minute cabdrive to the beach. Overall we enjoyed our stay very much!

We really enjoyed our stay and were pleasantly surprised with how nice the hotel was for such a good price. It was within walking distance of the beach and a lot of good restaurants. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was good, I have no complaints! Debbie

The hotel itself was very nice, it wasn't close too much and with the heat...you don't really wanna walk. At night, it wasn't too bad. We walked to a near by road that lead to a pretty busy street that had some restaurants and convenience stores. During the day though, nothing seems to be walking distance and if you do walk, prepare to sweat like you've never sweated before. Mostly everything is a cab ride away, especially downtown.

I must say the service in the hotel was very solid. I and my wife enjoyed staying there for 5 nights which we do talk about it since the day we left the hotel, Holiday Inn please keep it up with the service is excellent.

9 days in Dubai and what a pleasure to be staying at the Holiday Inn Jumeriah. It's located close to the metro train, if one wishes not to use the taxi and the metro train is convinient to most of the attraction sites in Dubai. The hotel is well maintaned and the staff is friendly. You sleep in comfort as there is no loud music or noise. I was just not satisfied with the carpets as it was dirty but above all,I would recommend anyone to stay there.

Hotel conveniently located and fares are good, staff friendly

Hotel was clean, the A/C worked, room was fairly big. Breakfast (included in the room price) was okay - wouldn't go for it if I had to pay extra. Conveniently located on a major road (no traffic noise in my courtyard-facing room) with guarded parking in the basement, but a fair distance from both Dubai centre and the Burj Khalifa. Internet connection is cabled, expensive and frequently threw "connection too busy" errors.

Had read reviews and was still a bit worried about what we would get, idea that it is a two star hotel. My friend and I was positively surprised by the location which is close to everything by taxi and that it is close walking distance to Open beach. We were looking for sun / swimming and shopping. This was perfect for us because it was close walking distance to Al Satwa, taxi to Karama, taxi to Deira City Centre, taxi to Dubai Mall, a bit longer with taxi to the Madinat Jumeriha and Mall of the Emirates, Ski Dubai (not that far). If we have something bad to say, it might be some guest workers who have a different English accent but do not be afraid to repeat the question to be sure that you get the right answer. Absolutely great hotel and will stay there again the next visit to Dubai

the beach is beautiful, very clean, has a walking trail/bicycle trail...on good weather one can actually sleep at the beach. the hotel is by the dry docks, there is no "view" if you are looking for one. it is basic hotel that would serve "sleep purpose" there is a carrefour express to pick up food stuff about 7 minutes walk by al dafiya road, also one can get the bus from there. otherwise, taxi is the best transport. if not for the enjoyable breakfast i would not go back with the amount it asks.

Went to this hotel because of the good price. It wasn't as close to the beach as I thought, however it was a good 15-20 min walk, which wasn't too bad. It was easy to access from the main roads. The view in our room was facing the dry dock across the street. The staff was very helpful. Food was good for breakfast. They helped with travel arrangments, taxis, flight status check. I would stay again if the price was good.

Cet hotel situé non loin de la mer est tout à fait correct pour un tarif inférieur à 80€ la double. Le petit déjeuner est copieux et varié.

Un deux etoiles quinen meriterait quatre....! tres bien situe a quelques minutes de la plage et des transports en commun et de pas mal de tres bon restaurant bon marche aux alentours.Mention speciale au restaurant indien TONIGHT BBQ en sortant a gauche..pas chere et extraordinaire buffet.

Mycket prisvärt hotell inte så långt ifrån stranden. Rekommenderar det absolut för den som inte har förstora krav.

Fantastisk service, personalen ställde upp med allt och svarade på hundra dumma frågor, fixade även transport till flygplatsen för en mycket billig peng. Även en klart godkänd frukostbuffé!

The service at this hotel was exceptional! Situated a bit out of the new part of Dubai, but right between the "old" and the "new" city. Taking the price into consideration this hotel was exceptional. Some people have commented negatively on the breakfast. I don't agree on this. In my opinion the breakfast was more than good!

쉐이크 알 제이드 로드 부근에 있는 호텔들이 예산에 맞지 않아 할수 없이 묵었음. 위치도 좋지 않고, 방도 작고... 하지만 출장시 사정상 어쩔수 없을 때는 그럭저럭 괜찮음.

Clean, quiet and comfortable" For the money, what more could you want?

Das Hotel war sauber, der Service empfehlenswert und auch so haben wir uns sehr wohl und sicher gefühlt. Das einzige was wirklich nervig war ist das die nächste Metro Station 10 Minuten Taxifahrt entfernt ist. Also sollte man dafür extra Geld einplanen. Der Strand dagegen war gut zu Fuß zu erreichen und sehr schön! Allerdings kommen einem selbst 10-15 Minuten bei 45 grad sehr vor wie eine Ewigkeit.

Das Hotel liegt in der Nähe der Trockendocks. In der Umgebung gibt es einige Restaurants und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten. Mit dem Taxi sind wichtige Punkte der Stadt schnell und günstig zu erreichen. Das Zimmer war sehr saubet und die Klimasnlage kaum zu hören. Wir kamen bereits um 9 Uhr morgens an und uns wurde gleich ein Zimmer hergerichtet, das wir bereits nach 20 Minuten weit vor der offiziellen Check-In Zeit beziehen konnten. Das Frühstück war ausreichend aber nichts Besonderes. Insgesamt waren wir mit dem Aufenthalt sehr zufrieden.

O hotel é maravilhoso, muito confortável, serviço excelente, funcionários educados! Infelizmente não é perto do agito da cidade, mas como o táxi em Dubai é muito barato fica muito fácil o acesso por este meio em qualquer parte da cidade! Recomendo! Com certeza voltarei em outra oportunidade!

Mycket fräscht hotell och långt över förväntan! Frukost som frukost, personal går in varje dag och gör rent rummet (dammsuger, byter handdukar och bäddar sängen). Mycket trevlig och hjälpsam personal för övrigt, vilka arbetar 24/7. Hotellet ligget nära standen (20min gångavstånd ungefär), ca 15min med bil till flygplatsen och ca 10min med bil till Burj Khalifa, Dubai mall m.m. Kanonhotell trots att den bara har 2stjärnor, men 2 stjärnor i Dubai är ungefär som 4stjärnor någon annanstans. Rekommederas starkt.
