Rooms were amazing. Service impeccable. Bar and restaurant over-priced.

We spent 6 nights in this hotel. The service is immaculate, friendly and fast ( with sole exception of receiving food at the bar!). The rooms are spacious, beds comfortable. The hotel has a beautiful, large pool with a full spa.The garden bar is lovely, looking out on a large pond. I highly recommend this hotel.

I spent two nights with my wife. Absolutely flawless! The suite was splendid, great layout spacious with a glorious bathroom and outstanding night views. The bedding superb and the service impeccable

The hotel and spa were outstanding value for money, given the fact that its amenities and general conditions were well above the benchmark for business hotels. It was well worth its ranking as a Leading Hotel of the World. Staff were helpful, friendly and warm. The cleanliness of the room and hotel common area, together with the efficiency of housekeeping services were impressive. Truly a positive experience and I would not hesitate returning.

We got an exceptional price for a truly 5-star experience. This place was a perfect match for us. Very high style, very cultured. We loved the wonderful layout of the room; every day we returned to a perfect experience; the cleaning crew even folded cloths for us. Wonderful, warm and responsive hotel staff of highly-trained, genuinely cheerful young people. Just all kinds of small touches... the honor bar was all free, the spa was no extra cost and absolutely high end. Room service was instantaneous and very reasonable. Restaurant a sanctuary. The music as you enter is designed to make you feel both masterful and relaxed (how do you do that?). Our first visit to mainland China and we were very reliant upon the hotel to support us with transportation and daily life-- they did a masterful job of advising us and teaching us about Shanghai. The whole concept of an urban retreat/spa is beautifully and uniquely captured in the Puli. My only reservation is writing this review... we'd like to keep the place a secret for ourselves... but it deserves every success.

I can not say enough good things about this hotel. The staff goes out of their way to meet your every need/request. The rooms like the lobby are beautifully decorated, spacious with bathtubs that look out into the city. The spa and pool are luxurious providing everything (slippers, towels, shampoo, hairdryers) at no extra price. The gym is well-equipped and open 24 hrs/day. I was there on vacation but would highly recommend this hotel for business travelers. What a great place to unwind after work! The only negative is that the bar and restaurant is very pricey. I paid $20 for a glass of pino grigio and a hamburger is about $25. It is located in a very upscale neighborhood, so guess that is to be expected. The metro/subway is right outside the hotel which makes it very convenient for touring.

I spend three days staying in Puli for valentine's day. I think the overall service is very good, I really enjoy the hotel room with nice view of city. Since, the hotel provides free drinks in the room, I don't need to worry about drinking's in the room. At the each corner you could find a bottle of water, and in mini bar you could find lots of other soft drinks or beers. I would never forget such good hotel room experiences. The only concern is about staffs, they always speak shanghai local dialect.....

Beautifully designed hotel. One of the best, if not the best, I've ever stayed in. From the moment you arrive into the secluded entrance, to the inclusion of all the cables and cosmetics you could need in the room it's just great. Staff and service is brilliant, and its sat on top of a metro station and next to Jing'an temple. Only remark is that dining and service is a little formal at times... Would be nice if there was a casual dining option.

the location of the hotel is marvelous, close to shopping, sights, convenience stores and most importantly, food. there's a nice park right beside the hotel and it's generally a nice neighbourhood to stroll. the hotel is extremely beautiful and tasteful, impressive but not opulent, minimalist chic but not cold. it's not a cheap place to stay, but i'm glad i chose it out of the many tempting choices in shanghai

stayed many times at this hotel, only pitty is that it´s close to highway..

Excellent room, spacious, clean and beautifully decorated. Facilities are excellent. You can just laz around the hotel for the entire day. Love it

The Puli is a very relaxing hotel after a very hectic work day.. As soon as you walk pass the front door you find your inner zen. The rooms are very spacious and the accomedations are very clean.

What a wonderful hotel, and fantastic staff. The service was top notch and staff beyond comparison. The rooms were clean and welcoming.

This is the seconf time I stay at the Puli Hotel and I can't give it enough praise. It is by far one of the best five stars hotel I stayed at around the world. I highly recommend it and will definitely stay there again.

This was my 3rd stay here & even after multiple visits I'm still impressed. This hotel has it all but what really sets it apart is the staff. The hotel management are highly visible & engage the customers. If you are looking for a hotel that is consistently excellent in every way, look no further.

Overall, we had a great stay. This is a cool, stylish hotel. I cant comment on the facilities as we didnt use them, but in general, all staff members were friendly and helpful, and everything worked as it should. A couple of small negatives - Hotels.com website said the hotel served a complimentary breakfast to all guests. This is not true, so beware when booking. There is a Costa in the building next door, but it is closed at the weekend. Also, we were looking directly onto a building site, not a great 'city' view in my mind. The location is convenient, as metro lines 2 and 7 are just a few steps away, and many shops and restaurants are within easy walking distance. Would happily stay there again.

I loved everything about my stay here. Free minibar, bowl of apples, beautiful pool and jacuzzi, so modern and well designed, high quality customer service, good location right above a subway stop. I hope I have the opportunity to stay here again, I am in love with this hotel.

Stayed at the Puli several times as a corporate traveller. It is an expensive exercise considering the price of the food as they are super expensive and also the food is very average and do not do justice for the price charged. The hotel staff do not clean your room if you leave the "Do not Disturb"button on accidentally, which is frustrating when you return from work and find the room not made. The staff at the Reception is not customer freindly and can be cold at most times.

luxury hotel, had a wonderful stay there with my girlfriend

I might not be traveling as much as business travelers but I travel enough and stayed in world known 5 stars hotels and boutique hotels for more than enough times to make the following comments:- Pros: 1. Very good location, close to everywhere in Jing'an District within walking distance 2. Nice interior decorations 3. Nice swimming pool, we went swimming like we're having a private pool for ourselves (go to Cons for the fabrication of floor tiles) 4. Superb brunch with better services from staff (in suits) there (go to Cons for the service level by other general staff, which is the worst experience from a 5-star hotel) 5. Complimentary use of minibar with nespresso machine, which is nice as I love having coffees Cons: 1. Very slippery floor tiles chosen around the swimming pool, we have to walk VERY carefully to avoid falling onto the floor. Further improvement on fabric selection is required. 2. POOR SERVICES/ ATTITUDES - a. Staff from Long Bar/ Home Delivery/ Duty Manager, we were told that it closes at 1am and we asked if we can order from our room and get our drinks/desserts delivered. We tried to order our second round of drinks at 12:35am and the staff from Long Bar told us their last order time is 12:30am, which we were not told beforehand nor it was stated on their menu. The staff from Long Bar told us to call Home Delivery. The home delivery staff told us there's nothing they can do (which I think this kind of service is unacceptable from a high-end hotel). I called the duty manager and he later gave us the drinks and again, his explanation is not soothing and his apology wasn't sincere. We started to wonder, what kind of training does this hotel give to its staff?? b. Housekeeping staff - we stayed in PuLi on both Friday and Saturday night. On Saturday morning 10am, a housekeeping staff rang our door bell and asked if she could tidy our room (I was like WHAT?!?! Am I not allowed to stay in my own room for a little longer and is it that rush to get my

One of the best hotels in Shanghai!

Woody furnishings and flooring are lovley. 2 cupboards, one for hanging long clothes, the other for shorter stuff and drawers. 2 washing sinks, one on the bathtub side, the other on the shower room side. The bathtub is large and with a head-rest cushion. The shower room is quite spacious, too. The toilette is yet in another compartment. In the minibar and beverage corner, a capsule coffee machine with 6 capsules per day, plus all-free mini fridge. BOSE CD player is in. Free WIFI access. It may not be a true 6-star hotel, but it is a fantastic place to spend times. Better spend several nights rather than one-night short business trip in Shanghai.

Wonderful combination of understated modern and traditional Chinese elegance and style. Friendly professional service; rooms are comfortable and relaxing retreats from the bustle of Shanghai. Great attention to detail at every level and minimum of commercialism--minibar and many extras are free.

The Puli is a great hotel for Shanghai. The rooms are modern, well designed and very large. The automatic blackout curtains are great too. Service is fast and friendly. The only comment would be if you want to be on the bund, I would probably stay at the Peninsula hotel. Puli is about a 15min taxi cab ride to the bund, which in shanghai costs about $5USD.

We stayed two nights at the PuLi in October, it is very convenient location since it's near line 2 and line 7 of the subway. We found out that there's an entrance nearby if you head right after you exit the hotel to line 7 (which you can then use to walk to line 2). The best hotel slippers I've ever had at a hotel. Beds were very plush and the hotel does make you feel like you're getting away from the city. Rooms were nicely appointed it and space was well utilized. Would not hesitate to stay here again.

I stayed for business from 10/12/11 thru 10/18/11. From the check-in process to the check-out process, the service at this hotel topped all of my expectations. Friendly and attentive staff, great location, great amenities, great food , great room etc... I can't even find any constructive criticism to share with them. They do everything extremely well. Keep up the great work and looking forward to my next stay.

Stayed for one night. Excellent location, 5 mins walk to Metro Lines #2 and #7; close to malls with food court and next to Jing-An Garden. Staff enthused to help with good command of English. Room very clean and elegantly decorated. Faucets and showers a bit confusion. Good green design with auto window closure when leaving room and auto open when entering room. In-room refrigerator stocked with with complimentary soft drink and beer, and many bottles of drinking water. Although not guaranteeing non-smoke room, got one anyway. Comparing to other hotels in China, this hotel is relatively smoke free. Highly recommended.

First class hotel from the lobby bar to the rooms to the staff. This is an exceptional hotel, one of the best I've stayed at.

They put me into the hotel room facing a construction site and I requested to changed the room. The first answer is "sure" with extra 400RMB + 15% instead of checking the why we want to change the room. Then, I sign the drinks bill to my room and they mis-read it from 710 to 1710. I correct them that my room # is 710, few minutes later, they insisted to see my room card. This is a terrible feeling for me. Then, they insisted my room rate is not included 1 breakfast which is clearly showed on the booking receipt. They simply ignored it and insisted us to pay for it. PULI NEED TO SERIOUSLY TRAIN THEIR STAFFS.

great hotel, good contemporary design but need better services and efficient people where it help to get things done for your schedule of the day.

The hotel is very close to JingAn Temple subway station and airport shuttle bus terminal to Pudong and Hongqiao airports. I arrived at the hotel at 8am and they were nice to allow me for an early checkin, stayed for 3 nights, also subsequently a late checkout at 2pm. The room was very spacious, & best of all the mini-bar is on the house! Coffee, tea, milk, juices, beer, sodas... They are re-filled once a day. Just a little disappointed that no one from the hotel guided me on the room facilities. I thought the coat room was the wardrobe! The lights above the wash basins are turnable, and there is storage behind the wash basins mirrors. It took me the next day before I realised them! But overall, it was a great hotel in a great location.

Beautifully appointed with spacious rooms and every comfort you need. One nice touch was the free mini bar. It was only juice, beer and softdrink but it makes a radical depature from others who charge an arm and a leg for a kit kat or beer. The hotel is very convenient for business. All my appointments were around 5-10 mins by taxi. It is right next to the Metro as well, lines 2 & 7.

I can't find anything wrong with this hotel and I am usually quite quick on criticism! The design of the whole hotel, down to the smallest of details is simply beautiful and as in any successful design, it is also highly functional. Service was fantastic from the Concierge to the breakfast or outdoor lounge were all great. Free and fast wifi without any annoying pop-up pages. Never had to wait for an elevator. the view on the park, the silence of the room, the closeness to West Nanjing road and to the subway, really it was all perfect! I was sad there were no Puli (or Urban hotels) in Beijing for the next leg of our trip. The park Plaza in Beijing felt like a roadside motel after our stay at the Puli
