Hotel location is very ideal, walking distance to the kata beach. Spa customer service is excellent, the receptionist actually willing to work overtime when i have changed my appointment beyond their operation hour. The quality of their service is still maintained despite they're working overtime. I would like to specially praised the spa receptionist, she's a extremely courteous girl, she greeted every passing by guest even though some did see through her. For her excellent service, I'll be gladly back for 2nd visit.

They gave us a free upgrade to pool side access, but still prefer the jacuzzi suite that we booked for.. hotel was superb i must say, everyday room was cleaned up for us, new towels everyday, wifi was good, free top up of drink in the fridge everytime they clean the room, overall was totally up to my expectation.. overall, phuket i must say was amazing !!!

I stay 2205 room not clean and swimming pool also, when open door access swimming pool many mosquito fly in the room. but restful and not far from the beach apox. 300 m.

the rooms are new and location is great.

The hotel is nice, but room service bad, we got ripped off over New Years for a meal where we did not really even eat and laundry was also not done as express service but hey wanted to charge us this.

Our family would not recommend staying at the Sugar Palm Grand Hillside. The hotel staff was not very friendly (laughing or seemingly annoyed at questions), the pool looked rundown, and our sheets had holes. Additionally, the location is up a very steep hill; and to get to the room, we had to use two different elevators and walk up a short, steep hill. This made leaving and coming back to the hotel very cumbersome. Finally, we were put off by a mandatory charge for a New Year's dinner that we had no intention of attending. This charge was listed at the very bottom of our Hotels.com reminder email, but we could not find it listed in our original confirmation documentation. This may have been standard practice for hotels in the area, but we wish it would have been stated more clearly.

Room was large,well equipped and we even had water glimpses but no direct pool access. Breakfast was good and generally the staff were pleasant. Our airconditioner worked flat out to keep the room cool (at 25c). Fortunately we were given a separate card to keep it running while we were out. Our main problem was in trying to negotiate the continuous up and down flights to get to our room or a pool; One pool was almost touchable by stepping off our balcony but to get to it we had to walk up 1+ ramp then down 2+ flight of steps. The main pool was on about level 2 but you had to walk up 2+ flights from ground then down 1 to get to it or down 3 flight from level 6. The lifts did not go to blocks 2,3 or 4. They were further up the hill and the ramps were steep and uncomfortable to walk on and not sheltered. I would not stay here if you had any mobility issues whatsoever, including having young children with you. Even from block one, you cannot easily access the pools. All the pools seemed to be the same depth and you need to be able to climb the pool ladders to get in and out. There are no shallow ends or steps.

There is a 35 degree slope leading to the hotel lobby which may be quite difficult to navigate when the road is wet. stay at a Grand Jacuzzi Deluxe. If you do not want to take the lift, you can either walk up the slope by the side or the stairs leading to those pools in the middle. This place might post a problem for those who have difficulty walking, but for the able-bodied it is not too difficult and good exercise. There is one restaurant at the resort next to the lobby which serves breakfast only, but you can order room service at other time. The room was in minimalist decor with heavily used of cement, glass and wood and quite spacious with clean toilet. Amenities include a fridge, safety box, umbrella, hairdryer & hot flask, bathrobe, room slipper and croc shoe, LCD TV with DVD player. Free wifi. Balcony comes with 2 chairs, a table and a Jacuzzi tub. One thing no good is that the balcony is facing a construction site and minimum sea view. Another is that the Jacuzzi tub is quite exposed with the glass walled balcony. They should have some rattan blind installed there for privacy and also block the afternoon sun at the balcony. The service staffs don’t talk much but I guess they are shy as they do not speak good English. Outside the main road, you can find shops selling tour package, groceries, roadside stalls, massage, convenience store for beer and drinks, restaurants, souvenirs and fake t-shirts, car and bike rental, etc. it about 5 minutes walk to the beach.

is a good experience and the hotel is great for family and laid back life!!

Hotel was superb except for the killer slope leading up to the hotel. Took the buggy up most of the time to the room. Overall, a wonderful stay.

Very drab concrete floors. More like a 2 star hotel. Were told a cab was arranged to pick us up on arrival. Cab never showed up. Cost time and extra money to arrange our own transport.

The location of this hotel is good.... walking distance to the beach. In our room the A/C on the ceiling was dripping all this foam. There was water behind the toilet the whole time. I didn't have a good experience with the staff. I went to breakfast with my friend (she had the free breakfast with her room & I didn't) and they had 2 people come to the table making sure that I was going to pay for my cup of coffee & then they went to the front desk & had 3 other people get involved when it wasn't a big deal.

The hotel is in a great location, a 5 min walk to the beach and neighboring restaurants. Free wifi was awesome too! The staff is super and arranged last minute transportation for us. The rooms as super tiny, especially for 2 :( bathroom really small. Mattress was extremely hard and views are nothing exciting. But nice spot for a reasonable price.

This hotel is in a great location, however it is on a hill and there is a steep trek back to the hotel from the beach. Kata beach is beautiful! There are many unfortunate things about this hotel however. To begin, the staff is horribly unfriendly and barely speak English. No one is remotely helpful, even with your luggage! The rooms are stark with cement floors and Mosquitos. The hotel screwed up my booking and put me in a pool access room instead of a sea view room. The pool access room balconies are shared between 3 rooms - kinda scary! Then I moved up to the 6th floor (after taking 2 seperate lifts) and the ocean view is a joke. I could barely see the water! Certainly could not see the beach! The wifi continually cut in and out and the connection was awful. The tv had 8 stations, 2 of which were English speaking. My friend met me at the dining area for coffee and we were hounded by 4 different staff members for payment for her cup of coffee. What a pain!! I was planning on paying for her coffee! Then I got charged for making 2 local calls after the front desk told me how to make the calls and that there would be no charge. When I checked out of the hotel, the hotel clerk came running to the car I was in on my way to the airport it tell me I had to pay for the phone charge - after I checked out!! The food was not pleasant, especially with the flies buzzing on everything! Gross! There was construction going on as well which added to the discomfort of trying to get some rest. I will never stay here again! And would seriously advise anyone else not to!!!

Overall nice convenient location. Great beach nearby, good restaurants, everything within walking distance. Should have asked for a mosquito net though for our baby. Got eaten alive. WiFi was incredibly slow in the rooms 24xx. Seemed good in other areas though. Other than those small issues I'd definitely come back.

For the price, this is a good mid-range hotel. It's a 5 minute walk to the beach and surrounded by restaurants. The rooms are a good size and very clean. We did encounter terrible noise from the restaurant next door playing out of tune karaoke til 3am in the open air. The staff at the hotel could not do anything about it when we called reception. If you are looking for a quiet spot, this is probably not the best choice.

Overall the hotel setup is ultra modern,if you dont mind walking up a steep hill...rooms are stylish modern with glass bathroom walls..the hotel is good,however the staff leaves much to be desired...my aircond was spoilt the night before my checkout and we couldnt sleep as it was warm,we were offered to change rooms,but this happened at 1230midnight and we were already asleep and in our sleeping mode so I chose to stay in,what I expected was some emphaty and understanding when I checked out and complained to the supervisor,but instead she blamed me for not changing rooms thus the hotel will not do anything as it was our choiuce for not changing rooms...well I told myself that I will not go back there the next time due to poor staff mentality towards guests.

the location of the hotel is good with many options of restuarants down the street but there is quite a fair bit of slope to climb when going back to the resort. room is spacious, simple and clean. disadvantage is the staff ain't that friendly as compared to other places in Thailand.

The hotel itself is better than the photos, how rare is that? If you are a fan of minimalism or modern decor, you will appreciate the overall look of the hotel design. It is located at a slope along the street of many restaurant, shops, and massage parlor. The slope is manageable but not after the 1st carpark. It gets steeper after that to the lobby. Suggest guest to take the stairs at the far side of the 1st carpark to the lobby level before you take the lift (touch screen!) We stayed at high floor pool access with an very affordable rate at 10th floor. That floor's pool is shared by 3 rooms. The 11th floor is shared by 2 rooms. Both with deckchairs outside. The highest pool access @ 12 which oversee the entire landscape is shared by 6 rooms.(private floor for room access only, no common deckchairs) The top floor above them is at 13th floor. The top floor is not easy accessible. We have to take 1st lift to 4th floor, then walk across the corridor to the 2nd lift which takes us to the 9th floor. From there, you have to walk the slope up to whichever floor above 9th. But we didnt mind at all. It was worth The room was in urban minimalist decor with heavily used of cement , glass and wood. Its very spacious and there were 3 mirrors, 2 sink, XL bathtub, big shower and clean toilet. The bed is very comfy and a full size fridge, safety box, umbrella, hairdryer & hot flask. On top of those awesome stuff, they have a 32in wall mount Samsung LCD with DVD player and a Mac mini attached to tv ! Free wifi too but average speed. The balcony has access to the pool if you booked one, its cool as you have the pool most of the time, but I think the metal stairs down needs some scrubbing from algae growth. Overall I am very satisfied of the Room. The main pool has a bar and few day bed and decks, lotsa well kept greenery and carpet grass. Oversee the kata area but no seaview. Will enjoy if you do not want the extra noise, cars and bike, extra carbon monoxide but just feel you ar

The bell boy help us to take the luggage at the first day when we arrive at the hotel. He even wait until we pay for the tips. But when we are leaving, he haven't help to take the luggage which I think maybe he realize that I won't give him tips again... Location is great with only few minutes walk to the Kata Beach and restaurants. The floor is a bit special that make me feel not so clean. I like the soft bed and the huge bath tub. The swimming pool view is great and everyone will spend some time in the swimming pool for relaxing. I will definitely stay here again if I come back to Phuket...

This is a great hotel in a great location. I found the room comfortable and clean with great views

Great location in a quieter part of Phuket - Kata - and the taxi driver from the airport knew the hotel exactly with no issues. Located on a hillside, overlooking all of the bay and beach area which is just two minutes walk away, and a restaurant, laundry and (legitimate) massage just outside the front door. The room caught me by surprise initially, as the whole thing seems to have been hewn from a solid block of concrete, including the floors and all of the bathroom hardware. But in fact, it makes sense of course, no carpet to get sandy and wet, and no tiles too get slippery underfoot. Very comfortable kingsize bed, and cleaned impeccably everyday by trustworthy and friendly staff. Reception can organise car/motorbike hire for you at competitive rates. The infinity pools(s) are lovely, and the barman seems to know his stuff too. Kata beach is spectacular, fine sand and beautiful blue clear water; many fine restaurants and cafes in close proximity also. Highly recommended!

We really enjoyed our time here! Things started off a little rocky, as our taxi driver refused to drive us up the steep hill to get to it. More just laziness on his part. But when we checked in to our room, we were hit with a musty airconditioner smell that was quite bad (although isolated to this room only). We asked to change rooms, to which they said they would send the "engineer" to fix. A knock at the door revealed what must have been a 16 yr old with a can of room spray and a ladder. Kid unloads the whole can in the A/C unit and says it's fixed....Couldn't help it but laugh, and think to ourselves this is really "Thai" style! We changed rooms after that without any problems and were upgraded to a room with private pool access which was amazing!!! Fantastic views, really nice staff, and super clean rooms. Really comfortable beds, flat screen TV's, in room coffee and tea and safe. Wish we could've stayed longer than a week! Restaurant is pricey, altough there is a fantastic restaurant directly accross the street (soi) where there are some of the cheapest prices (65 baht) for Thai food in all of Kata (which can be expensive) with great sized portions and excellent service. Some reviews we read before going said the hills are quite steep at this resort, and they are, but if you are at all able bodied (no disabilities), they are manageable and it's well worth it to stay here. They also have extremely friendly and helpful bellhops to help with your luggage, and they can give you rides in the golfcarts they use for transporting luggage. When we go back to Kata, this is definitely where we are staying, amazing place!!!!

Lovely hotel, get a room with a pool, on a very steep hill but you can use the series of lifts if required, Kata is the best area on Phiket and has super beaches, staff in hotel very welcoming.

please if u ever go to phuket go to kata beach, and if u ever go to kata beach stay at this hotel suger palm hotel, u will have 3 swimming pools and 3 mins wake to so beautiful clean beach, and you are in heart of shopping area,

It's awesome hotel, and all the staffs are very very nice can make you felt warm. The room very clean and the size of the bathroom is big big enough for relex. Good for holiday that who don't want very crowd. Within 10 mins to beach.

The hotel is great, in terms of facilities, locations, room amenities and cleanliness. Very modern - I've booked a pool access room and it is beautiful, however it could prove to be slightly noisy due to the water fall. I love this hotel but dread speaking to the staff. I believe that there are many english-speaking foreigners coming to stay at this hotel and that the staff are expected to speak and understand English language. It was quite a bad experience for me trying to convey to the hotel staff about the help that I need (room internet was down). Took me 2 days and a few swalk to the reception down the hill to fix one minor problem.

Especially the pool access rooms. Al rooms are big and modern. Great view as the hotel is on the hill side. About 400 bath for a tuk-tuk to patong. Very close to the beach and restaurants. Will stay here again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our staye at the Sugar Palm Grand Hill Side. The room was lovely, the hotel itself very attractive, and the breakfast was more than adequate. The view was to-die-for. Our only complaint was that the staff did not speak much English. This wasn't a big problem except with the gentleman that books tours. It makes it difficult to get information when he doesn't speak English. Other than that, we loved it and would definitely recommend staying here.

I like this hotel. I think if I have a new trip in Phuket. I will stay here again.

The Sugar Palm Grand Hillside (do not confuse with the Sugar Palm hotel down the hill; same owners) is an hotel with character. It is on a slope, going up from the commercial sector of Kata Beach. The hotel is a series of 3-4 story buildings, which at the end, makes a 10-12 story hotel. I had read that there was a big hill to reach the hotel and that going to your room from the lobby was a nightmare; it is not the case. Don't get discouraged by the fact that the hotel is on a hill. Rather, there are good chances that you will have a view of the ocean or the village. Kata is a nice plce to stay in Phuket less party place then other villages; a lot of nice restaurants and the beach at 5 minutes walk from the hotel (just go down the hill...). I would say that this hotel is the most prestigeous hotel in Kata.

早餐款式極少，建議外出用膳。 除左Lobby員工和執房女員工，其他人係沒有笑容，不會有親切感覺，good morning也不會講。用了兩條大毛巾，但執房員工比番一條我，有時又比番兩條我。牀單弄烏了，不明顯，但會全張更換，要讚。房間還keep到七成半新，唔錯。

Rooms with private swimming-pool are wonderful and super comfortable. Good position near the beach and many restaurants and shops.

Hôtel classe, sans être du grand luxe, belle piscine à débordement, beau cadre et surtout en hauteur (vu sur mer en fond) à 5 minutes à pied. de la plage de Kata et de la ville, accès rapide. Fortement conseillé !

Overordnet har opholdet været super godt, vores første værelse skiftede vi fra da vi ikke var tilfreds med rengøring i bad, men ingen prob. Vi fik et ny værelse med det samme. Men generelt trænger værelserne til noget mere vedligeholdelse og rengøring i bund. Vi har været her i otte dage og har nydt poolen, stranden som ligger i passende gå afstand og de forskellige shopping muligheder.

这是第二次入住酒店！比起第一次入住感觉有些失望！年久失修：泳池木板地面破损入住15天内没有维修！ 日常维护不够:入住房间淋浴花洒破损，面盆水龙头也是晃晃悠悠！房间打扫不够仔细：画框上方的灰尘明显很长时间没有打扫过一层浮灰！以为回到了国内！

房间算大，设备齐全，阳台出去就是小泳池，早上睡醒了游个泳，好舒服。位置很好，走几分钟就是海滩，穿着泳衣直接去游泳。唯一不满意的就是服务员的速度有点慢，拿衣架拿到我退房都还不见影，马桶塞了要反映3次才修好，但是这些都不影响我们度假的心情，下次还会再去。

Seul petit hic ne pas prendre de chambre tout en haut de l'infrastructure car la montée est hardie!
