Good stay. Very nice owners. Wonderful breakfast. Very satisfied with the overall experience

If you are looking for a nice, at-home feel with a large comfortable room and excellent breakfast, this B&B would make a good choice. Our room (#6) had a lovely bathroom that was larger than many of your chain-motel bedrooms. The Kingsize bed was very comfortable. The only thing lacking was a view, but that is not what we came for. The owners were very accommodating to my wife's request for alterations to their already extensive breakfast selections and the meal was excellent in every regard. This B&B is close to the waterfront district and we were able to walk to restaurants through a lovely park. Good Choice!

Although it was a very short stay I was impressed with the hotel and will definitely consider staying there should I go to Edinburgh for leisure purposes

Enjoyed our stay and would recommend for quiet break with friends/family. Friendly service, clean, spacious rooms and lovely breakfast. Wish it was closer to central Edinburgh, but that's the only disadvantage of it and wouldn't stop me recommending Sandaig to other people.

Excellent accommodation and service. A very friendly atmosphere with excellent choices for breakfast. The waitress serving breakfast was very helpful and friendly. Location ideal for sight seeing with a bus stop adjacent to the front door and Princes street ony a 20/25 min walk away.Overall excellent and would have no hesitation in booking again.

I had a very pleasant stay - nice clean room, well equipped and comfortable. The breakfast was superb and all the staff friendly. I will stay there again for sure. A plus was the availability of street parking just outside the hotel.

Spent three nights in this guest house and was sorry to leave. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast was outstanding - full Scottish breakfast came with all the trimmings. The poached eggs were perfectly cooked. The plates were hot and the drip coffee good. The room was pleasant and it was nice to have a radio / docking station as well as the TV. The Guest House is a 10 minute walk from the Queen's Yacht Britannia and about 20 minutes from down-town. The weather was perfect for walking so we enjoyed the strolls from the hotel. Cab/taxi fare from tourist attractions and town was around 8 to 12 GBP so very reasonable for three people, but buses (about 2 GBP) also stopped on the street. A park is right across the road and I loved having the ample and free street parking - such a change from the impossible chore of finding parking down-town and paying such high prices (~ 20 GBP). We have already booked our next reservation. A thoroughly enjoyable place to stay!!

Good breakfast. Convenient bus service. Carried luggage up three floors.

The facility was beautiful, and located just feet from the bus stop in to the center of town. Breakfast was like dining in a restaurant -- you could order whatever you wanted off an extensive menu. Staff very helpful with tourist and bus info.

We stopped for the night. Our first room had hairs in the bed and looked as if someone had slept in the bed. We called the front desk and they switched our room. The location was not a great area, would not stay there again!

The staff at this beautiful guest house couldn't have been more helpful. They recommended a restaurant nearby which was so good we ate there twice. The only very slight drawback was that it was a good ten-minute bus ride from downtown Edinburgh. However, the bus system in this city is excellent and we never felt inconvenienced by the daily trip. It is situated across from a large beautiful park away from the noise and bustle of the city. The choice of food at breakfast was amazing and very tasty. I would stay there again.

Wonderful experience with great innkeepers and a very good breakfast!

Sandaig was an excellent Guest House with superb service and is very well located on 5 minutes walk from the re-generated water-front full of bars and eateries of all kinds.

Very comfortable rooms. All essentials including iphone docking radio and a nightcap. Delightful staff. Excellent breakfast. Well situated in Leith, overlooking Links and within easy distance of both city centre, Ocean Terminal and Scottish Government offices. Restaurants etc very nearby.

We found the Guest House to be clean and comfortable with a very convenient bus route into the City.The staff were friendly and courteous and the cooked breakfasts very good.A range of good restaurants are within easy walking distance.

Meget venligt personale. Smukke og nydelige værelser. Nyistandsatte badeværelser. Vi skulle på vores 3 dages ophold de 2 morgener så tidligt afsted, så vi ikke kunne nå hotellets morgenmad, vi fik i stedet en pose hver med meget fin transportabel morgenmad :-)

accueil chaleureux, petit déjeuner bon et copieux, conseils de visite et pour les restaurants à proximité. la chambre est bien, avec le confort, sèche cheveux, tv, bouilloire avec thé et café, literie très bonne. Parking dans la rue sans problème, bus direct vers le centre ville en face du Sandaig, billet en vente à l'hotel. Le bus 35, à proximité, va de l'aéroport au terminal Ocean (centre commercial et le Britania), en passant par le Royal Mile. la voiture n'est pas indispensable. Un très bon établissement.

Das Zimmer war gepflegt. Sehr freundliches Personal. Frühstück sehr gut mit viel Auswahl.

Service på hotellet var tipp topp. De hjelper deg med hva enn du lurer på. Fantastisk frokost hver dag. En velger fra en meny og alt smakte veldig godt. Rommene var rene og hjemmekoselige. Utenfor guesthouse er går det ofte buss inn til sentrum tar ca 5 min. du kan også gå og det tar ca 30 min. Kunne absolutt bodd her igjen!

Wir waren sehr, sehr zufrieden mit dem Hotel. Die MItarbeiter sind sehr freundich und zuvorkommend. Bei unserer Abfahrt bekamen wir sogar noch einen Frühstücksimbiss in die Hand gedrückt, weil wir schon vor dem eigentlichen Frühstück los mussten. Vieln Dank nochmal für die freundliche Aufnahme!

Ett mycket trevligt hotell som har bra kommunikationer ca 10 min med buss in till centrum, gångavstånd till Leth med bra restauranger och pubar. Mycket trevliga ägare och en mycket god och riklig frukost

Yövyimme kuuden hengen seurueella kolme yötä Sandaigissa, kolme henkilöä per huone. Hyvin mahduimme eikä tullut ahtaan paikan kammoa. Huoneet ovat ihanan persoonallisia ja kaikki eri näköisiä. Kylpyhuoneet ovat moderneja. Ainoa miinus siitä ettei suihkugeeliä löydy minipulloista, ainoastaan pienenpieni palasaippua, jonka varassa piti olla kolme päivää. Uusia ei tuotu missään vaiheessa. Ei luulisi olevan suuri investointi. Aamiaishuone on pieni mutta viihtyisä, ja ruoka mahtavaa. Listalta tilataan alkuruoka ja lämmin aamiainen, lisäksi murot, mehut, paahtoleivät ja kahvit/teet/kaakaot. Kyllä näillä eväillä jaksaa. Sijainti kätevästi bussilinjan 35 lähellä, joten keskustaan tai Ocean Terminaliin pääsee helposti. Hotellin vieressä kaunis puisto ja alue muutenkin rauhallinen ja viihtyisä.

Wij hebben genoten van ons verblijf in Sandaig. Mooie kamer, met föhn en strijkfaciliteiten. Rustige ligging tegenover park met gratis parkeerplaatsen. Behulpzaam personeel en echt Scottish breakfast!

The guest house is located about 10 minutes out of the city center (with a bus) in a pretty quiet area. Pros: - The staff is very friendly and helpful. - In general, a very good standard on rooms and bathrooms. - Good breakfast - Easy access to the city center by bus and taxi, the buses stop just outside (about every 10 minutes) and is £1.30 each way, a taxi is usually about £7. Cons: - No fans or aircondition in the rooms (at least ours), so it will get pretty hot on warm summer days. - The lady cleaning the rooms goes home a bit early.

I've stayed at pricier hotels and not had the same level of comfort and service as I did at Sandaig Guesthouse. The room was beautiful, and the interior of the building is equally lovely and conveys a warm atmosphere. Service was excellent by warm and friendly hosts. If your main interest is exploring downtown Edinburgh the location may seem a bit remote, but it's easy and fast (and cheap) to get to the city centre by bus. The surrounding area is also relatively quiet and relaxed, which I personally think makes it all the more attractive to come back to after a hectic day in the bustling city centre. The neighbouring Leith Links Park is serene and lush and adds to the appeal. If you're a female like me, you probably care about a nice, clean bathroom with good lighting for applying make up. Rest assured - the bathroom is clean, beautiful and luxurious with generous lighting. And the shower cabinet was huge! I loved it! My room was at the top floor with a lovely view of the park, but the lack of lift means you might have to manhandle the luggage up some stairs. This might not be suitable for guests with physical disabilities, even though the staff will of course help you carry stuff to your room (and they do so with a smile..bless them). My room had an ensuite bathroom, which was seperated from the bedroom by a tiny hallway (leading to the rooms entrance door). I really liked this, as it will provide you with some bathroom privacy should you share your room with someone else. I had the double bed all to myself, but it was spacious enough to be comfortable for two people. I definitely wouldn't mind coming back to stay with my boyfriend, because of these two factors. They may be small issues, granted, but I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks it a bonus. The room also had a table by the window filled with everything you need to make your coffees or teas, including lots of milk which was a nice and welome touch. The biscuits were lovely.
