Great location, rooms are very nice. Only complaint was there was no schedule on when the room was serviced.

Upon arrival for a six-day stay in Miami Beach, I was immediately impressed by the cleanliness of the premises, the friendliness of staff, and the suite of amenities, all at an excellent value. Besides the initial confusion resulting from signage for the hotel being located on one building any my guestroom actually being located in a building across the street, this place was easy to find, the styling was fresh, the reception area lounge was comfortable and felt very open and contemporary, and a 7pm to 8pm happy hour contributed delightfully to forging an ambiance where guests from all horizons easily mingled - the first time I have ever encountered this. Note that the showers are somewhat strange, in that there is no shower curtain - one must be strategic in pointing the shower head. Also, I found no safe in my room for personal effects, though I can say I felt safe during my entire stay. Overall, an excellent hotel choice, one I would recommend wholeheartedly.

My friend and I stayed one night in the "Petite" room. More than one night in the tiny room would have drove me crazy. The petite room consists of one very comfortable king bed, tv, sink, shower, and one bedside dresser. When I first unlocked the door with the keycard, I hit the bed with the door (just to give you an idea of how small the room is). The door couldn't be open completely, it was hard to get our luggage in the door. The hotel is nice and it's in a decent location, but I would recommend a larger room. There was no where to put anything, no desk, but there is a small shelf. Decent size flat screen tv and two ipod (30 pin, unfortunately I needed the Lightning port) dock/stereos. Small rooftop pool, non-heated, "beds" to lay out on on the rooftop.

Place looks and feels fabulous. The design although is upper scale in and out, all noise echoes and expect every little sound to be amplified. They need to put some items to absorb. The rooms are tiled adding to the problem.

So ... Riviera All suite hotel is NOT all suites. Petite Suite is Not a suite : in fact it's a very small room and the vanity is in the bedroom and the tiny bathroom is just the toilet and a shower .. it was a hugely misleading ad and left us dissatisfied On the upside ; the teeny tiny room was ok : and if we'd been expecting a teeny tiny room We'd have been happy: quality was fine, clean and utilitarian. The hotel is split over three separate properties : o2 with a pool : one ugly , one gorgeous.. There's a bar in one of the three bldgs. One is modern: 2 are 'older' .. So in effect you pay a lot of money to get a teeny nice room or theoretically you might get lucky and get a suite in a nice building with an awesome pool : it's hotel Bingo ! We took issue with the management on the misrepresentation : they refused to help us: we shrugged and put it down to experience : then at 8.45 pm they called and said they'd reconsidered and would relocate us to a suite : but by then we were late for a dinner reservation and had an early check out for a flight in the am ...so declined to pack up and move. So in summary : It's an expensive yet nice teeny tiny room with a washbasin in the tiny bedroom.. Free cocktail sounds cool : but solo barman struggled to get a drink to all the 100 clients waiting to be served.

I loved that the hotel was just two blocks away from the beach and Ocean Avenue where all the restaurants and clubs are. A bonus was the beautiful pool area which was shaded by trees and offered cabanas to relax in. I enjoyed the complimentary continental breakfast by the pool each morning. The hotel staff were professional and quick to respond to and resolve any questions or issues that we had. I felt safe, secure, and in a clean environment at such a reasonable rate. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will be back to stay for sure!

I was somewhat disappointed with the complimentary shuttle. When I arrived it was raining. Once we were picked up and the shuttle started to move, I noticed a ton of leaks in the roof. There were so many leaks that no matter where I sat I got wet. Also, when I booked a massage through the hotel it was not explained to me that the masseust would need to be paid in full in cash because it is an outside spa. Do not book your massage with the hotel. Go outside. The staff gave very good restaurant recommendations and were very friendly and the happy hour was great!

Staff was nice and the hotel is well located. You feel a persanl attention and staff provide you with informtaion needed to make your stay a wonderful time.

located close to beach and ocean drive

The hotel was way more luxurious than we had expected at the price. It wasn't in the best immediate location but with-in a block of the art museum and 10 minute walk to restaurants like Havana 1957 and Miami Ink wasn't far either. I do have a complaint about the valet parking. We heard, on several occasions, squalling tires coming from the parking deck and driver of our car took several tries to park our car.

My husband and I celebrated our 1 year wedding anniversary in South Beach, and couldn't be happier with our decision to stay at the Riviera Suites. From the service to the decor, we were thoroughly impressed. The staff was friendly, helpful and seemed genuinely interested in making our celebration an experience to remember. The room had impecable details, and was spotless. Although the room was a bit small, it did not bother us, as a great deal of time was not spent there. We were in a studio suite, and would choose a larger room if we were planning to stay longer. No complaints, all in all. The walk to the beach was reasonable, we enjoyed taking in the sites along the way. Complimentary breakfast and happy hour from 7-8 were awesome perks at this hotel, we certainly appreciated them. We began planning our next trip to South Beach, while we were still there, and agreed that we would definitely be staying at the Riviera Suites again! Great hotel!

The front desk was always courteous and helpful. The location was great. It was close to the beach and the local bus that takes you all the way down South Beach is only a couple blocks away. The room was very clean but small. We enjoyed our stay.

I stayed in one of the studio rooms and it was nice and cozy. Staff was excellent. Convenience store right around the corner w/ great food. Beach only a block away. On 20th street, so it's away from all of the party goers. It's also on the nicer part of Collins ave. If you get a studio room, make sure your comfortable w/ who you go with. Not too private. But for couples, it's great. Will definitely be staying here again in the future.

Well, don't have a lot of expectations about this place. Definetely affordable for South Beach, but thats about where the story ends. The hotel has a new wing that opened that we were placed in. The room looked brand new, smelled like fresh paint, and was very clean in that regards. But some poor choices in layout. Like why put the sink in the main room, and not in the bathroom? Bad layout. The roof pool was not open yet, and the existing ground floor pool was like a tepid bathtub. Our room had a problem with lack of hot water in the shower, probably from the new shower knob not working. We changed rooms, but the staff was surly and unfriendly and annoyed that we would dare to complain. The lobby is tiny and just a bunch of couches. Nothing useful going on here. The only time anyone in the hotel hung out together is during the free happy hour drinks, when the line at the bar runs 10 people deep. Oh, and they only give you "select" choices for drinks--their selection. The hotel is a couple blocks from the beach, and there is free beach chairs included. The WIFI in the hotel is spotty. I dont think i would pay what i did for this hotel again, for a little more you could stay at another hotel nearby and get better service and a better experience.

only a couple blocks from the beach, nice! the rooms are big and spacious. and the happy hour is awesome! free drinks, come on! the breakfast is alright.. the pool is tiny but they told us when we checked out that they have just opend up a new one on the roof of the new building. they were soing a lot of work on the street but it didnt bother us. the valet is a little expensive but not worse than anywhere else in miami.32dollars.the people at the front desk were nice and helpfull at most times. but the whole of miami should learn more southern hospitality.

I was not happy the moment i walked in and spoke with someone from the concierge desk. I knew then, that I did not want to stay there, but I was not able to move my reservation anywhere else. When we walked into the nicely decorated and furnished, but very small room (studio), I noticed a hair ball on the shower floor (which was cracked; I could have re-grouted it better myself). I called for someone to clean it, and they never came… later on that evening (about 5 hours later) I called and two women came by. Thank goodness I brought my Lysol spray and wipes with me, because I had to clean out the shower and bathroom floors myself to ensure a clean space (the hair ball was moved from one side of the shower to the other). Not quite sure how housekeeping cleans, but clearly they don’t. Even the floors were dirty, I found that out the next day when I wiped the floor with a towel, cleaning up a small mess. Housekeeping never came the next day to clean our room, so I figured they just don’t clean until you check out or request to have the room cleaned. The pool area and the chairs on the front lawn were a nice addition. The construction out front was an eyesore. I will never stay here again, and suggest another hotel if you are going to pay 4-star prices, this hotel was more like a 3-star based on the overall service. I feel like i wasted my money. Glad the weather ws perfect!!!

There was no free Wifi service in the room and the hotel's landline didn't work. The front desk said this was due to the room being recently renovated. No one had obviously inspected the studio room, and if should not have been rented out. Check-in took 1/2 an hour (I booked the room 2 hours before arriving at the property. The rate doesn't include the $34 bucks/day you'll need for valet parking. A positive: The property's within walking distance of the beach, but you're about 15 minutes away from the nightlife on South Beach. (Lots of clubs are located on Washington between 5th and 15th Street) Hotel consist of three separate buildings, so booking a room in the buildings with the check in and pool may be better than my experience.

This hotel is exellent location just off the main noisy strip, the 3 seperate blocks are different. Watch out for the parking charges. $ 32 valet service , or you can park on the next block at $ 1.75 ph.Clean smart and friendly, offering a greta value on the busy and expensive south beach strip.

Amazing time - some construction in the street starts early, but not on weekends.

They hv two separate buidings for different amenities. Their wash basin is separate from their toilet in the rooms. They charge the same for their suites, studios and regular rooms! Bar opens late and service is below average. Their reception staff are accommodating and helpful.

We had a wonderful experience at this hotel!! The staff was extremely nice, professional, and very helpful. The rooms were very up to date, modern, and clean. The bed was super comfortable. We loved the free happy hour and the hotel was walking distance to the beach and Washington st. I would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be returning. One of the best hotel experiences we've ever had!! Great job Rivieria!!

Roadwork in front of hotel – bad first impression. Hotel consists of several buildings. Front desk person very nice and upgraded us to 1 bedroom suite. Elevator to get upstairs very tiny and slow. Room had large living area w/ kitchenette, dining table, nice features/furniture, large bedroom. Tried to use bathroom and noticed there was dried urine covering the toilet seat. Called front desk to let them know but they didn't send anyone to clean it. Also found all the door knobs to be not only dirty but have crust on them. Disappointing since this is normally a very pricey hotel - I got a big discount when I booked on Hotels.com. Bed was hard as a rock - I have no idea what kind of mattress it was but it didn't give when you laid on it - like sleeping on floor. Bedroom warmest room of the suite because I kept waking up hot until the air came back on again. Tried to catch the continental b-fast served poolside until 11 a.m., but they were already putting it away so I can't vouch for all that was offered. I did grab some granola cereal, coffee, fruit, and toast. Pool looked very tiny and shady, I doubt you can catch much sun there at any time. Took advantage of the free beach chairs, but had to check out and drive there because hotel is located on 20th, while beach area is between 17th and 18th. Also, valet charges another night at 1 p.m. On beach couldn't find the stand because it wasn’t marked. It was a decent hotel but I would not pay full price they charge.

Nice off the beaten path hotel. Two nice food options across the street from the main entrance - small deli and a small Italian restaurant that serves good food.

Would like to have had more choice on parking, congested area with construction. The pool area is very nice and the property is well maintained and staffed. Thank you.

The pool area is very cute and comfortable! The hotel provided us with beach chair vouchers and beach towels. The beach is a short walk ( a couple blocks) from the hotel. Fun happy hour! Bartender was great.

Our stay was very comfortable and in close proximity to everything we wanted to do. Shopping, restaurants.....and YES the beach! There was construction going on the entire time we were there, but it didn't affect us in any way. The staff members were exceptional and very accommodating, whch made our stay even better. I would definitely recommend this location and will stay again.

Horrible location but that's all you pay for in Miami

Excellent Hotel with wonderful spacious rooms. Great restaurants within walking distance.

Water went out the next morning and hotel offered nothing for compensation. Rooms are tiny. Location is good but hotel should be less than $200 a night.

For a boutique hotel in South Beach, I found the room to be recently rehabed and very clean. A few blocks off the beach, beach towels and beach chairs were provided. The pool is garden like and doesn't offer much sun. Hotel staff very professional and friendly.

Very well maintained. Staff was excellent. Clean rooms. One block from beach. Saved money walking to beach. The bar tender was very friendly and fun to hang around. Very knowledge able about what to do around south beach. Room was very clean, and pool was beautiful. Pool has shade from the sun after being at the beach all day is what we needed. Staff was amazing. They just wanted to help all the time. Great people and great place to stay. I'd stay there again!!
